  • Fitting place names into map shapes

    I'm drawing shapes using GDI+ using a list of lat/lon floats, and I need to place the name of the place within the borders of the polygon. Simply centering the text in the bounding rectangle doesn't work for irregular shapes. I have the text and the font so I can get the size of the rectangle that the text will need to fit in, but at that point I'm stuck. This seems like a common problem that all mapping software solves, as well as the kind of thing you would find in an algorithm or computer graphics textbook. So, given a list of floats for a polygon and a rectangle, is there a way to get the best possible point to place the text, using: 1) GDI+; 2) SQL Server Geospatial; or 3) c# code (or c, pseudocode, etc)

  • Issues with MIPS interrupt for tv remote simulator

    Hello I am writing a program for class to simulate a tv remote in a MIPS/SPIM enviroment. The functions of the program itself are unimportant as they worked fine before the interrupt so I left them all out. The gaol is basically to get a input from the keyboard by means of interupt, store it in $s7 and process it.     How do I use adb to perform some automated tasks on my android phone? I need to find commands that I can issue from the command line (ideally, using a .bat file) that will be capable of more than simply opening an application or sending an input keyevent (button press). For instance, I want to toggle Airplane Mode on or off from the command line. Currently, the best I can do is launch the Wireless & network settings menu and then use input keyevents to click Airplane mode: adb shell am start -a android.settings.AIRPLANE_MODE_SETTINGS adb shell input keyevent 19 & adb shell input keyevent 23 There are quite a few drawbacks to this method, primarily that the screen has to be on and unlocked. Also, the tasks I want to do are much broader than this simple example. Other things I'd like to do if possible: 1.Play an mp3 and set it on repeat. If there is no easier way to do these sort of things, is there at least a way to turn the screen on (using adb) when it is off? Or to have keyevents still work when the screen is off? I'm not very familiar with java.     Trying to set up LESS for css (see http://lesscss.org/index.html) on my Windows box, and I've installed ruby and rubygems and I've followed the instructions here (http://lesscss.org/docs) exactly. I have a file 'teststyle.less' in C:\ and in command when I type lessc teststyle.less to compile into a .css file, I get the error "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."     Given the following BPB: The "MSWIN4.1" string is just the "OEM ID" field, and by Microsoft documentation it should not be used to identify FAT volumes. The "FAT32 " string is the BS_FilSysType field, and by Microsoft documentation it should not be used to identify FAT volumes either. So how do i identify that the volume is formatted to FAT? Is there any reliable signature I can relay on?

  • AVAudioPlayer won't play audio file after AVAudioRecorder

    I create a .caf audio file using AVAudioRecorder and if I try and play it back using AVAudioPlay I get no sound on the iPhone (if played in simulator works fine). If I close my application and reopen the file plays fine. Also I am not able to adjust the phone volume after recording unless I close and reopen my application. Any ideas?
