  I was told by my boss we need to buy some more licenses of ReSharper and getting the quote of that we also received the quote of an upgrade to the newest version (v7) for everyone here.   Noob here. OK, I 1 Open the Dash. 2 Type "file". An app appears, called "files", icon looks like ta 2-drawer file cabinet. I click that, the app opens 3: I click the "Search button". I type the file name in the box and hit Enter. 4: The program thinks for a while, then displays a result. Great! the program found the file I was ilooking for! IT knows where myfile.foo is, BUT I DON'T! IT DOESN'T F%*%#ING SAY WHERE IT IS!!!! How do I find out where it is, please? I hate to say this, but is there an app that works like Windows Explorer (but doesn't crash every 2 minutes)?

• ClearTrace Supports SQL Server 2008 R2

  It was a long time coming and I hope worth the wait.  If you have SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on the same box as ClearTrace and you download the latest ClearTrace build (36) you’ll be able to read SQL Server 2008 R2 traces.  I also fixed a bug handling very, very large SQL statements.  I encountered an INSERT statement that was 12MB in size.  It was storing XML in a database.  ClearTrace uses regular expressions to clean up the SQL it finds.  Running two dozen regular expressions over this 12MB string caused the application to crash.  In this build I’m just skipping any statement over 1MB.  I’ll do something a little nicer in the next build. • Compiz shortcut with two arrow keys

  The "Put" functionality of CompizConfig Settings Manager is great. I'd like to be able to move windows to the desktop corners by using Super+Down/Up+Left/Right for this; is that possible? Whenever I try to set something like that it is just reset to "Disabled". A workaround is of course to use the numeric pad, but I'd like to be able to do this on my EEE laptop as well without enabling and disabling NumLock all the time.

  Well I had a relatively unpleasant exprience with Microsoft's new offerings when it comes to azure.And of course they deleted the forum trail.They don't want the consumer as a customer, expect to pay $200 - $250 or more a year for azure and that doesn't include a good email solution. This is for the smallest slice offering.If you want a simple website solution 1and1.com isn't a bad choice and it's less than $50 a year.

• reliably restarting services using upstart or runit

  I want to reliably restart my app and web server processes on crash. If I understand correctly, runit starts every service as a child process. If the child process crashes this sends a signal to the parent process which in turn respawns the service as a child. How does this work in the case of upstart. Does it also spawn a child process like runit? I am considering using runit for this. Is that needed, or is upstart good enough for this ? I am using nginx for my web server and gunicorn (python) for my app server.

• Managed servers getting down regularly by Node Manager. WAD?

  Recently I have been working on a service request where several instances were running, and several technologies were being used, including SOA, BAM, BPEL and others. At a first glance, this may seem to be a Node Manager problem. But on this situation, the problem was at JMS - Persistent Store level. Node Manager can automatically restart Managed Servers that have the "failed" health state, or have shut down unexpectedly due to a system crash or reboot. As a matter of fact, from the provided log files it was clear that the instance was becoming unhealthy because of a persist6ent Store problem. So finally, the problem here was not with Node Manager as it was working as designed, and the restart was being caused by the Persistent Store. After this Persistent Store problem was fixed, everuthing went fine. This particular issue that I worked was on an Exalogic machine, but note that this may happen on any hardware running Weblogic.

  when i restarted my Ubuntu workstation after a crash of firefox my taskbar disappeared. what program do i need to start to get it back? what could be the reason for this? thanks edit: I mean the bar at the bottom of the screen, where the programs that are currently open are displayed. Also i remember i could switch from one virtual screen to the next one there. At the very right, there was a button on it that would minimize all windows and show the desktop.

  Will the developer or company (is a corporation or is not) be responsible for legal consequences, or will they be covered and protected by the Apple Store Terms of Use agreement? For example: 1) the app is fun and the kids show the app to a parent who is driving the car, and got into an accident. 2) if the app does road navigation and it went into problem or crash or slow, and caused an accident while driving. 3) or if the terms require using an app in a safe and non-time critical situation, what if the app recommend some exercise routine or diet (such as suggesting eating more eggs, milk, or using some herbs), and it could be argued that they caused any health consequence?

• Can't read CDs, can't create USB... how do I install Ubuntu?

  Hello everyone and thank you in advance for your time. I have troubles with the latest Ubuntu distribution: since I upgraded to 12.04 Ubuntu has started having troubles (internal errors, packages that crash repeatedly, I can't install new packages, Ubuntu Software Center crashes, Java apps that worked stopped working and display weird mistakes, files were corrupted... a mess). I ultimately decided to format everything and install 12.04 from scratch. I made a backup and everything, but now I have troubles installing ubuntu 12.04. Specifically, a CD I burned with Brasero that works on another PC is not read by my laptop (not at boot phase, nor inside Ubuntu), and when I try to create a USB with Ubuntu (following the instructions I found on the ubuntu site) Startup Disk Creator stops at 22% saying that "the codes do not match". Any idea on what to do next? No, I can't buy a new PC.
