  • Translate Basic Config.groovy log4j DSL to external log4j.properties

    The following is a basic log4j configuration inside Config.groovy using the log4j DSL with Grails 1.2, it works as expected (log all errors to the given file): log4j = { appenders { file name:'file', file:"c:/error.log" } error 'grails.app' root { error 'file' } } How would one translate this into a properties style log4j configuration file? The following does not work: log4j.rootLogger=ERROR, FA log4j.appender.FA=org.apache.log4j.FileAppender log4j.appender.FA.File=C:/error.log log4j.logger.grails.app=ERROR, FA I suspect it has something to do with the translation of error 'grails.app' but I really don't know. If it makes any difference, the properties file is configured externally: grails.config.locations = ["file:${basedir}/extconf/log4j.properties"] All I really want is an external log4j properties file which logs all application exceptions to a file.

    Hi, I am using sql server integration services(SSIS) in sql server business intelligent devolopment studio. I need to do a task --that is. I have to read from a source database and put it into a destination flat file.But the same time the source databse should be configurable. That means in the Oledbconnection manager connection string should change dynamically.this connection string should be taking from a configuration/xml/flat file. I read that i can use varaibles and expressions to change the connection string dynamically.But how do i read connection string value from a config/xml/flat file and set the variable? This part i am unable to do.Or is this the right way to achieve this.. Can we add web.config files to ssis project.? I am new to SSIs. Please provide some help with examles etc. and this is quiet urgent for me. Thanks SNA.

    Hi, I'm trying to pick up Svn.NET (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/) library for use in my Mono project. I tried compiling its mockapp - svnmockapp project (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/browser/trunk/SvnMockApp) , I am able to get the references right and get it compiled right. I understand that it references 2 other modules libapr (libapr-1.so.0) and svn_client (libsvn_client-1.so.0) , by which I've created PumaCode.SvnDotNet.dll.config in /bin/Debug . That is all I've done to tried to try to get the mockapp at least outputting something to show that it is indeed interfacing SVN. Nevertheless, it is not working.     How do I get my App.config file to be recognized/used? I have tried placing it in the top folder of my project and in the same folder as my feature files.   • Windows Workflow and sql script in declarative config like InRule

    We have been using InRule for our Rule needs we have found that it does not scale well and so are investigating the Windows Work Flow. Within InRule we could configure pretty much have any task for example our sql scripts and stored procedures where all part of a separate rule config file, I am wondering if there is a similar functionality within windows work flow where I could just call a declarative task and pass it a bunch of parameters – This task should contain the sql script I would be executing , we should be able to change the script at runtime without recompilation to the WF code. Is this possible in Windows Work flow – How can I accomplish this within work flow. Additionally for sql execution within Work Flow, how does it get the connection string. Should it be passed from the calling program – is passing it as input parameter from the Calling app via the Dictionary object the best way or can the work flow code have visibility to my calling program app.config and get the connection string ?

    So my whole problem is that I have two files one with following format(for Python 2.6): #comments config = { #comments 'name': 'hello', 'see?': 'world':'ABC',CLASS=3 } This file has number of sections like this. Second file has format: [23] [config] 'name'='abc' 'see?'= [23] Now the requirement is that I need to compare both files and generate file as: #comments config = { #comments 'name': 'abc', 'see?': 'world':'ABC',CLASS=3 } So the result file will contain the values from the first file, unless the value for same attribute is there in second file, which will overwrite the value. Now my problem is how to manipulate these files using Python. Thanks in advance and for your previous answers in short time ,I need to use python 2.6

    I have created a WinForm app (VB.NET 2008) that references to a webservice which was added via "Add Service Reference". The app works ok. Question is about distribution of the app. It looks like I need to install the app's config file with the EXE, however I don't want that because the config files shows the actual url of the web service which is not whatt I want. So, is it possible to use a webservice in a WinForm app and only have to install the resulting EXE?

    I'm supporting a ASP.NET v2.0 app installed on a Windows 2003 SP3 Enterprise on a quad core 8G machine running on .NET 2.0 SP1. before enabling the config, ran "tasklist /m mscorwks.dll" Image Name PID Modules w3wp.exe 7888 mscorwks.dll add under section in web.config ran IISRESET, rebooted server too ran "tasklist /m mscorsvr.dll" INFO: No tasks are running which match the specified criteria. ran "tasklist /m mscorwks.dll" Image Name PID Modules w3wp.exe 6251 mscorwks.dll It seems like gcServer is not taking effect. Are there any additional settings/ configurations necessary to get it working?

    I am creating solution and inside I have three projects: A WCF Service Library Project A DataAccess Project (Class Library) A Web site for hosting WCF service The implementation of the service is on the project # 1, but in order to access the DataBase I use a second project that implements the data access using a class library project. That problem is in order to get data access I need to configure a connection string, but that connection string must be configurable in a production environment, I meant in production I am going to deploy the site, which is a very simple project that contains only a reference WCF Service Library Project then a guy from database department will configure the connection string. In development I have an app.config on the data access project but when I do the release that app.config is embedded on the dll. Any ideas how can we achieve our purpose

Given the config.xml: <resources> <string name="config_somePadding">50dip</string> </resources> How would I reference this to use as the layout_height in a layout xml file? @string/config_somePadding is actually the only one I've found that doesn't throw an error in Eclipse (even though there isn't a config_somePadding in values/strings.xml), but it appears to just put an empty string.

    I have two config files located in: /etc/svnauth and var/www/svnauth I have given read, write access to for both files like shown below chown -R apache:apache /etc/svnauth chmod -R 770 /etc/svnauth chown -R apache:apache /var/www/svnauth chmod -R 770 /var/www/svnauth When I try to read these two files using pear/Config_Lite, /etc/svnauth always fails. I can successfully read the /var/www/svnauth file Any reasons for this?     Hi, I have an self hosted WCF server with hard coded configurations. the server worked fine until I tried to implement some new functionality. the new setting did not work (urrr.... ) and I find it hard to locate where are the problems in my code. instead of digging inside the code, I thought about different approach: Is there any way to dump those hard coded WCF configuration (the entire ) into app.config like text file after all configurations are loaded? this will enable me to have a easy global view of the entire settings .. mmm .. .by the way, does anyone know a way that will do the translation to the opposite direction? config to code.   • Parsing boolean from configuration section in web.config

    I have a custom configuration section in my web.config. One of my classes is grabbing from this: <myConfigSection LabelVisible="" TitleVisible="true"/> I have things working for parsing if I have true or false, however if the attribute is blank I am getting errors. When the config section tries to map the class to the configuration section I get an error of "not a valid value for bool" on the 'LabelVisible' part. How can I parse "" as false in my myConfigSection class? I have tried this: [ConfigurationProperty("labelsVisible", DefaultValue = true, IsRequired = false)] public bool? LabelsVisible { get { return (bool?)this["labelsVisible"]; } But when I try and use what is returned like so: graph.Label.Visible = myConfigSection.LabelsVisible; I get an error of: 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'bool?' to 'bool'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Thanks for any suggestions!

    In my app.config file I made the setting like the following <add key = "Delimeter" value ="\t"/> Now while accessing the above from the program by using the below code string delimeter = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["FileDelimeter"].ToString(); StreamWriter streamWriter = null; streamWriter = new StreamWriter(fs); streamWriter.BaseStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.End); Enumerable .Range(0, outData.Length) .ToList().ForEach(i => streamWriter.Write(outData[i].ToString() + delimiter)); streamWriter.WriteLine(); streamWriter.Flush(); I am getting the output as 18804\t20100326\t5.59975381254617\t 18804\t20100326\t1.82599797249479\t But if I directly use "\t" in the delimeter variable I am getting the correct output 18804 20100326 5.59975381254617 18804 20100326 1.82599797249479 I found that while I am specifying the "\t" in the config file, and while reading it into the delimeter variable, it is becoming "\\t" which is the problem. I even tried with but with no luck. I am using C#3.0. Need help
