    Normally to pass parameters via in RSpec we do: params[:my_key] = my_value get :my_method Where my_method deals with what it received from params. But in my controller I have a method, which takes args directly i.e.: def my_method(*args) ... end How do I call the method with those args from within the test? I've tried get :my_method(args) but Ruby interpreter complains about syntax error.

    I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work.     Hi, In order to avoid freezing of GUI, I wanted to run method connecting to DB asynchronously. Therefore I have written this: DelegatLoginu dl = ConnectDB; IAsyncResult ar=dl.BeginInvoke(null, null); bool result = (bool)dl.EndInvoke(ar); But it is still freezing and I do not understand why - I though BeginInvoke assures that method it references is run in another thread.     Bit of a dumb question, but I'm wondering what the accepted way of passing data from back to an overridden base method is in c#. e.g. I guess I could do: class A { int x; public virtual void DoStuff() { Console.WriteLine(x); } } class B : A { public override void DoStuff() { x = 1; base.DoStuff(); } } But is there a better method that for example doesn't require the use of a member variable?

    Sorry for the vague title, but I'm not sure what this is called. Say I add IDisposable to my class, Visual Studio can create the method stub for me. But it creates the stub like: void IDisposable.Dispose() I don't follow what this syntax is doing. Why do it like this instead of public void Dispose()? And with the first syntax, I couldn't work out how to call Dispose() from within my class (in my destructor).

    My application allows the user to create their own methods indirectly and I later need to refer to these methods. I am wondering if there is a way (for error checking purposes) to test if a method exists without trying to execute it. If I just try and call the method and it doesn't exist this will crash my application.
