    I'm troubleshooting an issue and I need to find where client XP machines store their DNS information. I have a server with 3 NICs. 1 one of them has DNS information and two of them are in a private network not using DNS. It appears to be NameServer entry under System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPip\parameters\Interfaces\guid. Anywhere else that info would be found?

  • Does netqmail-1.06 already include badmailfrom wildcard?

    thinking about blocking all '.info' domains on a server running netqmail-1.06 I saw the instructions for the badmailfrom-wildcard patch http://tomclegg.net/qmail-bmf-wildcard specifically mention qmail-1.03 and make no mention of netqmail-1.06. I searched around to see if this patch is already included but didn't find any information in the netqmail changelog http://www.qmail.org/netqmail/CHANGES or anywhere Tried using it by putting '.info' into the badmailfrom file and restarted qmail without error, it seems to be working. Can anyone confirm that this functionality is included in netqmail-1.06?

    How can I find out if a given program is 64 or 32 bit version? I can't to do it by simply looking at where it's installed, since some programs need no installer and may be put anywhere. Here, no process explorer will help me, since the application refuses to start. Reason why I need it: My new eclipse installation fails to load "jvm.dll" just like here. I'd bet I'm using 64-bit versions of both eclipse and JVM, but I'm slowly getting unsure....

So my main question is if I upload the initial files via FTP but not by Rsync. Will Rsync still skips those existing files or it will upload everythibg on first run

    I just compiled nginx v1.2.3 from source on a CentOS 6.3 server and am trying to use the ssl_prefer_server_ciphers directive, but I am getting an error nginx: [emerg] unknown directive "ssl_prefer_serfver_cipers" in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/application:5 I am not seeing anywhere that this directive depends on any specific versions of other libraries, or even specific versions of nginx. What could I be doing wrong here?

    I have managed to leave the make default option ticked when using the "open with" option in windows 7. I ideally want this removed so the OS can manage the file type as before. I can't find the menu to remove this anywhere, I'm sure it used to be in the folder options panel in XP. Thanks

  • Logging commands executed by remote shell scripts

    I've noticed that when running a script that connects to a number of our servers (to essentially run batch commands) that the commands aren't logged in the user's .sh_history or .bash_history files. Is there a place where this is logged (assuming the script itself isn't doing the logging and I'm not tee'ing the output anywhere)? I'm talking specifically about AIX, but I would assume this question applies to all the *nix flavors. Thanks!

    I understand I'll need to re-install all the applications, but will upgrading from Windows XP (32 bit) to Windows 7 (64 bit) automatically format my hard drive removing out all my stuff? Or I'll just need to install all the appls but my files (like pictures and documents) will remain on that hard drive? (Trying to figure out if I really need to get 500GB spare space anywhere to copy my data temporarily to.)

  • ip route add HOMEIP via SERVERIP disconnects me from ssh

    I want to use a vpn connection on my Debian server but I get disconnected from ssh if I connect to the vpn. I thought by using the "ip route add" I can prevent getting disconnected from my server and it will continue to use the main connection for communication between my computer and the server, and the vpn for communication with other ips. This is the command I use ip route add PUBLICHOMEIP via PUBLICSERVERIP But I get disconnected after the "ip route add" command too. Am I making a mistake anywhere?

  • I wrote a new X11 keyboard layout file, how do I get my system to recognize it?

    I like to configure my keys my way, so I wrote a keyboard symbols file and I put it in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/cat I use it by running setxkbmap cat -variant dvorak (and it works), but it doesn't show up in the console configuration (dpkg-reconfigure console-setup) nor in the Gnome keyboard settings... nor anywhere else, so I have to run setxkbmap every time. I suppose that I have to register it somewhere, but where? Any hints? Thanks!

    Currently i installed ubunot on ubunto 4.4, and using following commands i can see mysql, mysqld running ps -ef | grep mysql ps -ef | grep mysqld but when I run, netstat i don't see mysql and 3306 anywhere. in my.cnf file, i have given my ip and port is 3306. also when i run this command sudo netstat -tap | grep mysql i don't see anything and commands I needed to run the mysql 5 on port 3306 and on ip=x.x.x.x for remotely accessible Looking forward to your reply

    Does anyone know of any affordable speakers that you can hook up to a HTPC\Media Center and then take the speakers anywhere around the house to listen to them? Basically, what I've found has either been headphones that do this or wireless speakers that site on the desktop. Affordable to me would be $50-100.     Hi guys I am running subversion 1.4 on Centos 5.2 and my clients are using tortoise to do their check out, commit etc. I think I have permissions problems but I have configured the folder to accessible to everyone with 777 attribute but I seem not to be getting anywhere. Its generating this error on tortoise "svn: Can't open file 'PATH/TO/MY/FILES/entries': Permission denied". Some guy was suggesting some indexing software installed on the client machine like google desktop, any suggestions?

    I am wondering if there is a way in FireFox 10.0.7 to set the it so every time I click on a link it opens it in a new tab. I went to configuration mania and options and could not find it anywhere. I also checked on the about:config and found the browser.link.open_newwindow but was unsure what to change the value to to set it so new tabs are opened every time a link is clicked on.     my computer wont load past the windows logo, when it finishing loading the logo i see a blue screen quickly flashes on and off just a glimpse of it but i recognise that sreen anywhere i know its a serious error message screen, after that it just shows a black screen with a movable cursor, i've tried to repair, load last good configuration, but nothing seems to work, i'm running windows 7, its a toshiba laptop, 4 GB SDRAM, 320 GB HDD, Intel Pentium Processor T4200, dual core processor.
