  • Install OpenBSD from a USB flashdrive : "No OS" message on boot

    Hello everyone, I'm attempting to install OpenBSD on a fancy new home server equipment I just bought and here is my problem. I followed this guide to create a bootable USB flash drive from an OpenBSD VM I have on my laptop but when I try to boot my laptop on it all I get is a "No OS" message (I tried two different USB keys). Does anyone know that problem (and its solution) ?

  • What is the best powershell script to restore an SQL Database?

    To restore an SQL Server 2008 database, I would lile to be able to just do something like this in powershell: ./restore.ps1 DatabaseName.bak Then the powershell script would by convention restore it to a database with name "DatabaseName". It would disconnect any user connected to this database so that it can restore the DB. It would store the mdf and ldf in the default location. This would mainly be while developing on my personal machine. Just a quick way to restore a DB. Anyone has such a script? Thanks

    I am working through the security guide from apple (which they did not update since Snow Leopard). In the firewall section it states that ipfw has a default allow rule: 65535 allow ip from any to any And if you enable the firewalls 'stealth mode' via the settings the following rule should be added: 33300 deny icmp from any to me in icmptypes 8 The funny thing is: I have stealth enabled and I do not see this rule when doing sudo ipfw print Any idea where stealth mode is enforced if not in the ipfw ruleset?

    Hello, I'm currently having problems with my arch linux installation, forgot to select a few packages but in the guide they never mention which key do I need to press to select/deselect the packages in the installation screen.     We have a terminal server in our environment, where Domain\Domain Users can login through Remote Desktop. We want to force log off these users after half an hour. However Administrators (this includes Domain\Domain Admin also) should not be affected by this. They should be able to connect to terminal server with out any interruption.     Quick version: New computer, attached to Windows domain, with SteadyState w/ Disk Protection turned on, cannot log on as domain user because Windows states 'system security log is full' Troubleshooting performed: disabled all 'restrictions' listed in SteadyState, cleared system security log, changed security log settings to overwrite entries when it becomes full, restarted computer to commit changes, verified changes were commited - still cannot log on as domain user, changed Documents and Settings folder to another partition, still cannot log on as domain user Let me know if you need a more detailed description of any steps performed. I appreciate any help you can give me.
