    I want to relocate the Flash player plugin of Firefox cache so that it saves my C: drive space when I watch youtube videos. I successfully changed the firefox cache by opening about:config and then created a new string key "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" where I put the value of the new cache location. But it doesn't work with online streaming contents such as youtube videos. Please guide me where does it get stored and how to change its cache into another drive.

    Dear all, I have written a data DVD by k3b and now that I paste DVD on my system I have limitation in order to read and write on it's folders. I tried to set their permission but it's not possible. I mean that when I set File access to Read and write and press Apply permission to enclosed files botton, after a few seconds my setting (Read and write) will be disappeared and it returns to ---.     I recently bought a wireless DSL router to replace my wired one. After quick setup however, the router does not connect to the Internet. Wireless connection between laptop and router exists and Internet can be connected through laptop(manually) by using router as WAN miniport(PPPoE). What I want to do is connect the wireless router to Internet so that when laptop connects to router, I can start using the Internet. How do I do this? Please help.

  • Pinned start menu/taskbar shortcuts gone.

    Hello. I just restarted my Windows 7 PC to find all my pinned shortcuts have disappeared from the start menu and taskbar. I've looked here "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned" And it seems the shortcuts are still there. Is there maybe a service that isn't running, which is causing this problem? Thanks.

  • Change Logon DPI setting in Windows 8.1

    I love how M$ keeps making decisions for me about how I want my desktop to look. Now they have added per-user dpi settings. The problem this has created is that there is no adjustable dpi setting for the Lock/Logon screen. Let me explain. you can change the dpi setting to be the same across all displays and this does affect the icons and font on the lock/logon screen. However it does not affect any app/program that can run on the lock/logon screen. Ex. I use a 44" flat screen tv for my monitor on my desktop. Big enough for me to sit in my recliner and use my comp. But I don't have a wireless keyboard. And it sucks having the wire from the keyboard running across the floor. Plus I really don't want to keep a keyboard next to me. So I use the on screen keyboard for logging in and quick typing (search, web address, etc.) So the problem is that with the new dpi setup my on screen keyboard takes up nearly half the screen. Does M$ think we are all blind? Oh no I remember they think desktops should look like tablets and phones. I tried looking through the registry to see if I could find a setting for it. In the key HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop there is a string value named "LogicalDPIOverride" with a value of -1. I have a feeling this is where I can fix the issue. I tried changing the value to 0 and to 1 with no change in the result. Instead I noticed that after logging out and back in the -1 value was back in the registry. So now M$ has also added a way for us to not be able to change a setting in the registry. They are making it harder and harder for us power users to be able to do anything with the settings in windows. Soon we will all have the same exact Windows with absolutely no customization. ok sorry for the quick rant. The real question here is. How can I change this defualt dpi crap? Can I use the LogPixels string that worked for dpi in Windows 7? I noticed they all have similar folder names in the root directory bin boot dev etc home lib lost+found media mnt opt proc root sbin selinux srv sys tmp usr var I googled around, but couldn't find anywhere that explained the purpose of each of these. I understand a couple, but could anyone point me somewhere or give a quick breakdown of the common ones.

    I am purchasing a keyboard without a numeric pad (a Cooler Master Storm Rapid but my question probably applies to any keyboard without a numeric pad) I very occasionally use the numeric pad on my current keyboard, in conjunction with the Alt key, to enter special characters.     So i have a Z68 chipset that allows Quick Sync encoding on my i7 processor. I want a media encoder that supports both Hardware encoding and allows me to "merge files". My problem is Fraps breaks my recording into 4GB files. I need to stitch these files together & re-encode for Youtube ect, but i want to use the hardware encoding I paid for. I have not figured out how to do this on Handbrake or MediaEsspresso.

This is 'uname -a' : Linux xxxxxx.com 2.6.32-042stab061.2 #1 SMP Fri Aug 24 09:07:21 MSK 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux It's a VPS hosted in my main dedicated server (OpenVZ). Not sure what else to say, but I appreciate any help :) OS: CentOS 6
