• Binding a wpf listbox to a combobox

  Hi there, I have created a very basic wpf application that I want to use to record time entries against different projects. I havent used mvvm for this as I think its an overkill. I have a form that contains a combobox and a listbox. I have created a basic entity model like this What I am trying to do is bind the combobox to Project and whenever I select an item from the combobox it updates the listview with the available tasks associated with that project. This is my xaml so far. I dont have any code behind as I have simply clicked on that Data menu and then datasources and dragged and dropped the items over. The application loads ok and the combobox is been populated however nothing is displaying in the listbox. • Can iTextSharp rasterize/export to JPEG or other image format?

  I need to be able to export PDF's that I am creating to JPEG, so that users can have a screenshot/thumbnail of the end product, which is faster than opening the whole PDF. I am running this on an ASP.NET website running in Medium Trust in the Rackspace Mosso Cloud. I have yet to find a library that will either work in Medium trust, or in the case of ABC PDF, which works great locally, wont load in Mosso. Maybe Mosso has a custom trust level? I know that iTextSharp works on Mosso, but I haven't been able to figure how to "screenshot" a single page of a PDF, or export a page to JPEG. Is there anyone out there who has done this before?

I am new to c# (since I am a Delphi developer) anyway I was able to create a simple CLR stored procedures by following a tutorial. My task is to move a file from the client file system to the server file system (the server can be accessed using remote IP, so I cannot use a shared folder as destination, this is why I need a CLR stored procedure). So I plan to: 1) store from Delphi the file in a varbinary(max) column of a temporary table 2) call the CLR stored procedure to create a file at the desired path using the data contained in the varbinary(max) field Imagine I need to move C:\MyFile.pdf to Z:\MyFile.pdf, where C: is a harddrive on local system and Z: is an harddrive on the server. I provide the code below (not working) that someone can modify to make it work? Here I suppose to have a table called MyTable with two fields: ID (int) and DATA (varbinary(max)). Please note it doesn't make a difference if the table is a real temporary table or just a table where I temporarly store the data. I would appreciate if some exception handling code is there (so that I can manage an "impossible to save file" exception). I would like to be able to write a new file or overwrite the file if already existing. • Is there a way to get programmatic access to the columns of a ActiveReports detail section?

  Hello, I have a report in Data Dynamics ActiveReports for .NET. In this report I am programmatically setting the ColumnCount property of the detail section to X. The detail section has one databound textbox. The ColumnDirection property of the detail section is set to AcrossDown and the and then the data binding mechanism automatically fills across with data after setting the DataSource and DataMember. Here is the code... Public Sub RunReport Dim count As Integer = 0 ' ... get count Detail1.ColumnCount = count Me.DataSource = ds Me.DataMember = ds.Tables(0).TableName End Sub That code works fine and the data is automatically filled across the report. Now I need to alter the report and circle or highlight one of the items that is auto-filled across columns in the report. I cannot find any way to programmatically access the auto-generated columns so I can turn on a border or draw a circle or something. Any ideas how I would do that? Seth

  I'm trying to populate a DropDownList with values pulled from a property, and my end result right now is a list of nothing but "System.Web.Mvc.SelectListItem"s. I'm sure there's some minor step I'm omitting here, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is.   I have an ExpressionEngine site at http://example.com and a WordPress blog at http://example.com/blog ...the problem is, any WP pages that don't map directly to an index.php end up being handled by ExpressionEngine, which results in a 404. For example, http://example.com/blog and http://example.com/blog/wp-admin both work fine as they both directly use an index.php in those folders, but http://example.com/blog/category/tag/something gets handled by ExpressionEngine. So how can I modify the ExpressionEngine .htaccess file to tell it to ignore anything in the /blog directory? • Custom MediaStreamSource and MediaElement.Naturalduration property

  i have written a custom mediastreamsource, that can play media from growing source files (mpeg transport streams). Once it reaches the end of its mediastream, it reads the new duration from the mediafile and continues to deliver samples. The MediaElement plays continously. Unfortunately i haven´t found a way to update the MediaElement.NaturalDuration property. Hence i cannot seek into the “reloaded” area, because ME doesn´t know about it and sets my position change to its NaturalDuration value. I tried to call ReportOpenMediaCompleted after getting the new stream length. Then Naturalduration get´s updated, but i cannot play anymore. Is there any other way to deal with it ?

  this seems really simple but I haven't gotten this to work. I am building my app with grails on google app engine. This pretty much requires you to use JDO. I am making an HTTP call from flex to my app. The action that I am calling on the grails end looks like so def returnShowsByDate = { def query = persistenceManager.newQuery( Show ) def showInstanceList = query.execute() return (List<Show>) showInstanceList } I have tried just returning "hello from grails" and that works just fine. I have alos tried the following return showInstanceList the JDO docs say the query.execute() returns a collection. Why I cant just return that to Flex I have no clue. Any thoughts?

• Vista/7 UAC: how to lower process privileges

  Hi all, Is it possible for a process to lower itself from elevated UAC permission back to standard user? If not can the elevated process launch its copy with standard user token and then kill itself? Any code examples (C# preferred)? Details: Problem: - user installs my product (written in C#) - the installer elevates its UAC permission to admin - at the end the installer launches my exe - the exe inherits elevated permissions from admin - the exe mounts network drives which become invisible in Windows Explorer (that runs with regular permissions) Options I considered: 1) break installer into outer exe and inner exe, that runs with elevated permission. The install consists of 1000+ lines of NSIS code and I don't know anything about NSIS 2) mounting drives with lower permissions. If I do it Win Explorer can see the drives but my exe cannot 3) setting EnableLinkedConnection registry option to 1. This is a no-go because it requires PC reboot during the installation. • Injection of banners in my webbrowsers possible malware

  Recently I have started to suspect that I have some kind of virus on my computer. There are 3 symptoms: Banners are being displayed on pages that doesn't use commercials, for instance when viewing screen-shots on Steam. It is only displayed after the rest of the page has been loaded and seems to be injected into it. The whole page is replaced with a commercial with the option to skip the commercial. The page is replaced with a search window claiming that the page could not be found. I have tried to scan my computer with Antivir and Adaware but only found a couple of tracking cookies. I have run HijackThis but since this isn't really my area I haven't been able to discern what shouldn't be there except the line about zonealarm since I have uninstalled it. Is there anyone out there who is able to see if there is anything suspicious in the log-file at the end or has suggestions regarding programs that might be better to find the virus than Antivir and Adaware?   I,m trying to work through and test a Voice Recognition example based on the VoiceRecognition.java example at http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html but when click on the button to create the activity, I get a dialog that says Connection problem. My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this.   Hi. My main intention is to keep the functionality independent form the Javascript, to have it gracefully degradable. Maybe I am trying to go where I want the wrong way but the main idea is: there are some jQuery UI tabs and when the user presses a link, a new tab is added corresponding to that action $("#tabs").tabs('add', "/groups", "My Groups"); the controller identifies the AJAX request and renders only the partial for that tab if request.xhr? render :partial => "index_tab" end at this point I would like the Javascript file associated with the /groups/index action to be executed as well, meaning the index.js.erb file in the groups folder. because of the "only one render" rule I couldn't think of a nice way to do it and I am in need of a fast solution.   I'm using the jQuery datepicker where I have two textboxes (start date / end date). The user clicks in a respective textbox and the calendar shows up. That is OK. What I need to do is when the user say, clicks in the start date textbox and picks a date. I need an onblur event to be triggered then. Where do I set that onblur event for the calendar control after a date has been selected? I tried in the actual textbox but that's not right because that happens before an actual date is picked from the calendar control.

  Hi, I'm doing a project for a college class I'm taking. I'm using PHP to build a simple web app that classify tweets as "positive" (or happy) and "negative" (or sad) based on a set of dictionaries. The algorithm I'm thinking of right now is Naive Bayes classifier or decision tree. However, I can't find any PHP library that helps me do some serious language processing. Python has NLTK (http://www.nltk.org). Is there anything like that for PHP? I'm planning to use WEKA as the back end of the web app (by calling Weka in command line from within PHP), but it doesn't seem that efficient. Do you have any idea what I should use for this project? Or should I just switch to Python? Thanks

And it just appears without animation. But if I press a link inside the TTStyledTextLabel the animation works, the navigationItem will be shown. How can I make the animation, the navigationItem and the tabBar be shown?

• Is learning the Caché database hard coming from relational databases and object oriented programming

  I am currently running the local version of Caché on my system in order to determine if I can (and will) take on a new possible project. The current project uses Delphi 7 as a front end calling a Caché dll where the business logic is stored in the database. I have a background of Sqlserver and Firebird (and before Access and Paradox) as databases. I use Delphi 7 for 95% of my Windows development, so I know about object programming. I would like to recieve opinions from persons having used Caché and either SqlServer, Firebird or Oracle and having developed in Delphi (or C++ or C# - an object oriented language). I have read the pro's and con's from other questions, but I am not asking for this, I need input from Caché developers. Thanks in advance.

• What jquery code or plugin would I use to update the position of an element?

  I am using a jquery plugin from [ FilamentGroup ] called DateRangePicker. I have a simple form with two text inputs for the start and end date that I bind the DateRangePicker to using this $('input.tbDate').daterangepicker({ dateFormat: 'mm/dd/yy', earliestDate: new Date(minDate), latestDate: new Date(maxDate), datepickerOptions: { changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, minDate: new Date(minDate), maxDate: new Date(maxDate) } }); I have a collapsible table above this form that when shown, moves the form and the elements that the daterangepicker plugin is bound to, down lower on the page, but the daterangepicker appears to keep the position from when it was actually created. What code could I put in the daterangepicker's onShow Callback to update its position to be next to the element is was initially bound to? Or is there some specific jquery method or plugin that I could chain to the daterangepicker plugin so that it will update its position correctly. This would come in handy for some other plugins that I use that don't seem to keep their position relative to other elements correctly either.
