  • jQuery hide/show with select tag

    I'm relative new to jQuery and I've been asked to create a hide/show function with a select tag. The function pretty much would be when you click on one of the options in the select tag it will open a div associate with the div of course. To be honest I have no idea how approach this function. I need help urgently, I have already tried many online but none have seem to work. Find below the html code. If not, what freeware applications would you recommend (preferably something that I never have to see again (i.e. it sits quietly in the system tray) once I install and configure it)?

  • Java app makes screen display unresponsive after 10 minutes of user idle time

    I've written a Java app that allows users to script mouse/keyboard input (JMacro, link not important, only for the curious). I personally use the application to automate character actions in an online game overnight while I sleep. Unfortunately, I keep coming back to the computer in the morning to find it unresponsive. Upon further testing, I'm finding that my application causes the computer to become unresponsive after about 10 minutes of user idle time (even if the application itself it simulating user activity). I can't seem to pin-point the issue, so I'm hoping somebody else might have a suggestion of where to look or what might be causing the issue. The relevant symptoms and characteristics: Unresponsiveness occurs after user is idle for 10 minutes User can still move the mouse pointer around the screen Everything but the mouse appears frozen... mouse clicks have no effect and no applications update their displays, including the Windows 7 desktop I left the task manager up along the with the app overnight so I could see the last task manager image before the screen freezes... the Java app is at normal CPU/Memory usage and total CPU usage is only ~1% After moving the mouse (in other words, the user comes back from being idle), the screen image starts updating again within 30 minutes (this is very hit and miss... sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes no results after two hours) User can CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to Windows 7's CTRL-ALT-DEL screen (after a 30 second pause). User is still able to move mouse pointer, but clicking any of the button options causes the screen to appear to freeze again On some very rare occasions, the system never freezes, and I come back to it in the morning with full responsiveness The Java app automatically stops input scripting in the middle of the night, so Windows 7 detects "real" idleness and turns the monitors into Standby mode... which they successfully come out of upon manually moving the mouse in the morning when I wake up, even though the desktop display still appears frozen Given the symptoms and characteristics of the issue, it's as if the Java app is causing the desktop display of the logged in user to stop updating, including any running applications. Programming concepts and Java packages used: Multi-threading Standard out and err are rerouted to a javax.swing.JTextArea The application uses a Swing GUI awt.Robot (very heavily used) awt.PointerInfo awt.MouseInfo System Specs: Windows 7 Professional Java 1.6.0 u17 In conclusion, I should stress that I'm not looking for any specific solutions, as I'm not asking a very specific question. I'm just wondering if anybody has run into a similar problem when using the Java libraries that I'm using. I would also gladly appreciate any suggestions for things to try to attempt to further pinpoint what is causing my problem. Thanks!   • Variable popen calls in C

    I'm trying to execute MS-DOS DEL commands inside a Win32 C program, and I already know that system and popen can be used for this. However, the problem is that both require string literals (type const char) for the commands, and I need something like the DOS equivalent of dir ~ | grep -P '/\d{7,8}\.exe$/' | rm, which obviously can't use string literals. Is there some other subprocess function in C that allows for char arrays as arguments for process names?

  • Mac Finder - Alternate default application?

    Hi, Double click on an image opens the default application associated with it. E.g. "jpg" opens with "Preview", but some times I need to open with an alternate application, e.g. photo editing software. I don't want to change the "default" handling from "Preview" but may be with "Cmd-Enter" or "Ctrl-Enter" I want to open with another application instead of "Open With"-Select Application... Is it possible? Thanks.

  • BB Code Parser (in formatting phase) with jQuery jammed due to messed up loops most likely

    Greetings everyone, I'm making a BB Code Parser but I'm stuck on the JavaScript front. I'm using jQuery and the caret library for noting selections in a text field. When someone selects a piece of text a div with formatting options will appear. I have two issues. Issue 1. How can I make this work for multiple textfields? I'm drawing a blank as it currently will detect the textfield correctly until it enters the $("#BBtoolBox a").mousedown(function() { } loop. After entering it will start listing one field after another in a random pattern in my eyes. !!! MAIN Issue 2. I'm guessing this is the main reason for issue 1 as well. When I press a formatting option it will work on the first action but not the ones afterwards. It keeps duplicating the variable parsed. (if I only keep to one field it will never print in the second) Issue 3 If you find anything especially ugly in the code, please tell me how to improve myself. I appriciate all help I can get.     When in Readline apps with vim mode enabled in ~/.inputrc (set editing-mode vi) is there a way to bind the up arrow key? To previous history, for example. It seems I have to press ESC key first, only then it works.     Some times whenever I restart the application, which is built on Java Struts Mysql and Jboss 4.05 Version I get the error as Address already in use: JVM_Bind Only fix that i know is to restart the machine and try again, it will work. Else Some times I do Ctrl-Alt-Del and Stop all the process related to Java, some times this also works. But what is the exact reason and how can we prevent this problem ?

  • Prevent "^C" from being printed when aborting editing current prompt

    When you're editing a prompt in bash, and then press Ctrl-C to abort it, "^C" might get printed where the cursor has been. When you were in the middle of the line, this makes copy'n'pasting more difficult and IIRC it can be configured to not display it (and overwrite parts of the command line). I do not have this problem myself (using zsh, which does not print "^C"), but ran across this in a Konsole bug report.

  • Dell "Remote Access Configuration Utility" keeps prompting

    One of our servers can never reboot without pausing at the BIOS prompt asking to "F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup utility". I have gone into Setup and there is nothing there to stop it prompting for this; I have gone into the Remote Access Configuration Utility (CTRL+E) and have setup some values hoping that because it was setup it would not keep asking, but nope, nothing obvious like "Disable Remote Access Configuration". This is the screen we see: Does anyone know what we can do to let our machine boot cleanly??

  • Can't re-open "Group My Tabs" page after killing Firefox

    Due to memory problems I closed Firefox whilst the Group My Tabs (Ctrl+e) feature was displaying the multiple tab groups. After 20 minutes the process still hadn't finished so killall firefoxed it. When I restart Firefox, there is a Javascript process called tabview.js that hangs unless I click Stop at the warning screen. If I do hit Stop then I can no longer open the tabview, so I can't get to any of the tabs except in the subgroup I was last looking at. Any suggestions?

  • Show & Hide hidden files on demand in Windows

    A little while ago I discovered that on Ubuntu linux one can display or conceal hidden files on demand at run-time by pressing [Ctrl-H]. This is really handy. Is there anyway this can be had on windows? I'm guessing Windows Explorer is not amenable to this, so I'm open to 3rd party file managers provided they're open source, freeware, or cheap (in order of preference). thanks

  • Can you boot an Acer Aspire One from an SD card when no BIOS is available?

    Is it possible to boot the Acer Aspire One PC from an SD card? I have bricked an Aspire One, but it does not even start the BIOS. Aspire One have this issue and a BIOS update usually work and it helped me once in the past, but this time it's all over, and the BIOS update fails. It still reads the SD card with the magic Ctrl + Esc shortcut used to launch the BIOS update. Can I trick the computer into booting somehow using this shortcut?
