  • How to get the value of a ComboBox within a DataGrid

    While this may be a simple problem, I'm having a heck of a time coming up with a solution. I have a DataGrid with a ComboBox as an ItemRenderer for one of my columns. When the user selects a row, I want to get the ComboBox's selected value for the selected row. Any suggestions?   • How do I force all Tree itemrenderers to refresh?

    I have item renderers in an mx.controls.Tree that I need to refresh on demand. I have code in the updateDisplayList that fires for only some of the visible nodes no matter what I do. I've tried triggering a change that they should all be listening for; I have tried clearing and resetting the dataProvider and the itemRenderer properties. private function forceCategoryTreeRefresh(event : Event = null) : void { trace("forceCategoryTreeRefresh"); var prevDataProvider : Object = CategoryTree.dataProvider; CategoryTree.dataProvider = null; CategoryTree.validateNow(); CategoryTree.dataProvider = prevDataProvider; var prevItemRenderer : IFactory = CategoryTree.itemRenderer; CategoryTree.itemRenderer = null; CategoryTree.itemRenderer = prevItemRenderer as IFactory; _categoriesChangeDispatcher.dispatchEvent(new Event(Event.CHANGE)); } The nodes refresh properly when I scroll them into view (e.g. the .data gets set), but I cannot force the ones that already exist to refresh or reset themselves. Any ideas?

  • Scrolling through list element causes text elements to scroll as well

    I'm using a list element with variableRowHeight and word-wrap set to true like in the example below: http://blog.flexexamples.com/2007/10/27/creating-multi-line-list-rows-with-variable-row-heights/ When I scroll through the list with a mouse scrollwheel the text in the listItems also scroll. I know that this is to do with the height of the textField... but I am unsure how to best resolve this issue. Any thoughts are appreciated! The issue that I am experiencing also occurs in the example above.

  • swf doesn't respond when relocating it

    Hi, i have in my program few swf files and using mxmlc i compile the application into one swf file. when i open the swf from the output directory(just dbl click) everything works fine. But, when i copy the directory to another location in the hardisk the application stops responding (i can see my swf main picture and its buttons in it. But, when i click a button which just popup a message, it doesn't work!) any help?

    Hey, I have a list control and i want the user to be able to select many items at a time. Thus I want it to act that if the control key is pressed while he is clicking.     There is an ongoing argument on the web right now about the "openness" of the iPhone OS and Adobe Flash platforms. Adobe's argument is that anyone can build a Flash application without having to worry about being allowed to distribute it. This made me wonder… is it possible to build and distribute an AIR application without giving any money to Adobe (without violating any licenses, of course)? Are any of these tools free? Are any open-source?

One obvious way to do it would simply be to call doSomething() which would give the same end result as clicking the button.   • trouble with custom 'Text Bubble' component (examples included)

    I'm trying to use a custom Text component to show a series of comments. I got the original idea from: http://www.eonflex.com/?p=40 I've got the base case working but I am stuck with 2 problems I cant seem to figure out: Since I am drawing around the text, the actual height of each bubble is greater than that of the Text field, as a result, the last bubble is always chopped off. I have tried explicitly overriding the height getter, and adding some padding, but I cant seem to get it right. You can see an example here: http://test.lambandtunafish.com/bubbles/CommentTest.swf In my layout, I have 2 VBoxes (one nested inside the other). The first vbox shows a form where the user can enter a comment, and the second box has all the comments. In order to ensure that the scrollbars only show up on the second box, I set minHeight="0" on the nested VBox, but then for some reason, some comments' text is shifted to the right.     Hi - I've gotten a checkbox header renderer to work well with flat DPs, but a hierarchical collection view is another story. On click, I want it to select all checkboxes in a given column. Here is my code: var dp:HierarchicalCollectionView = _dataGrid.dataProvider as HierarchicalCollectionView; var testDp:GroupingCollection = dp.source as GroupingCollection; var rawDp:ArrayCollection = testDp.source as ArrayCollection; for(var i:int=0 ; i < rawDp.length ; i++){ rawDp[i][_dataField] = cb.selected; } It selects all checkboxes on the 2nd level of data, but doesn't select the top level of data. What am I missing here? I can't seem to find it. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
