  • How can I track an asp.net pages size without tracing?

    I want to be able to track the amount of data that is being transfered from my web site to each user that accesses the site. I can do this for file downloads and such but what about the pure html content itself. How can I track the output size of a page (or the data that's trasnfered via an AJAX call) to the client and log it against a particular users session? Also how would this differ when GZip is used in IIS 6.0?

  • Selenium RC cannot test on compressed html

    In order to have the fast speed of website, the web sever compress (gzip) the html files before sending to our clients. When running selenium tests, it shows a pop-up saying: You have chosen to open ... which is a: Bin file from: http://... Would you like to save this file? "Cancel" "Save File" It seems that the compressed html file doesn't unzip and browsers recognise it as Binary file.

(I asking that beacause my Zend progect not working on Ubuntu, its gives first pages, but after i enter to next page its gives me 404 error(page Not Found), I check if rewrite mod enable with : sudo a2enmod rewrite and get: Module rewrite already enabled ::: I dont have such probelm on Zend Ce and Wamp servers on Windows).   • Can Apache httpd be made to log errors to console instead of log files under Windows?

    I'm doing infrequent development with Apache/PHP on my Windows machine so I've opted to run apache as a console process instead of a service. It would be nice if errors could be logged to the console window instead of a logfile so I can see them immediately. Can this be done somehow? It doesn't seem that apache has such a capability built in and I can't find a mod that would do this either.

  • How to test crontab entry?

    I have an entry in my crontab that looks like this: 0 3 * * * pg_dump mydb | gzip > ~/backup/db/$(date +%Y-%m-%d).psql.gz That script works perfectly when I execute it from the shell, but it doesn't seem to be running every night. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the permissions, maybe crontab is running under a different user or something. How can I debug this? I'm a shared hosting environment (WebFaction).

    Hi, I'm using unix system() calls to gunzip and gzip files. With very large files sometimes (i.e. on the cluster compute node) these get aborted, while other times (i.e. on the login nodes) they go through. Is there some soft limit on the time a system call may take? What else could it be?

    As I know, in PHP, we need to connect LDAP over SSL in order to change user password. Is there another way, E.G, other language (JAVA / ASP) to change LDAP password without SSL required? Thanks. Updates: I get "Warning: ldap_mod_replace() [function.ldap-mod-replace]: Modify: Insufficient access" when I try to modify self account password. If i try to change other user password, I get no error message, but the password still stick to the old one.

    I have been using Flesigrid for my CMS and I like it except there are some things I think it could do better like get the column headers from the ajax results rather then in the setup of the flexigrid or having the ability to change the buttons on reload things of that nature. I've been considering a mod of the plugin though I'm not sure i really want to do that.     Does anybody know for what the acronym ZIP stands for which was and is used in programs like PKZIP and GZIP? There is a compression algorithm named Lempel-Ziv-Welch-Algorithm (LZW) maybe the guy named Ziv invented together with other people ZIP? I cannot find anything about it, maybe its not an abbreviation but instead it just means "to zip files" but I think originally there was more about it..
