• Problem getting video from DVD

  I have a DVD that a customer needs me to pull ~5 minutes of video from, and convert it to FLV to play on their website. I downloaded AVS Video Converter and tried to use it to convert the VOB file to FLV, with the thought of editing after, and also tried MPEG. Both times it froze up. I then tried to just copy the file from the DVD to my hard drive, thinking that maybe the disc access was slowing things down too much. I got a "Cyclic redundancy" error from Windows while doing that, and it stopped copying. Is the file corrupted? Is there any better way to get it from the DVD player? I only need 5 minutes of 1.5 hours, so if I can avoid converting the entire thing then editing, that would be awesome Thanks for your help

  Hi All, I'm installing oracle oci8 on a linux server here and I am having an issue where php_oci8.so does not seem to be able to find the libclntsh.so.11.1. I've got the instant client installed and it shows up fine in ldconfig -p , but when I do ldd on the php_oci8.so it shows up as not found. Does anyone have any ideas as for what I can check ?

• Trixbox CentOS Default GW Problem (Multi-homed server)

  I'm having an issue with a CentOS trixbox server which is dual-homed (one private facing NIC [eth1], one internet-facing NIC [eth0]). I can't seem to get the default gateway to set properly to our ISP's GW via eth0. I've modified the /etc/sysconfig/network to contain both a GATEWAY & GATEWAYDEV line and removed the GATEWAY line from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 (as well as /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0). No default GW shows up in the routing table unless it's specified in the ifcfg-eth1 file (which both the wrong interface and wrong gateway IP), otherwise, the routing table simply does not contain a default gateway..any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! EDIT Just realized when attempting to add the default gateway manually using the route add command, I receive an error stating: SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable I know this error can occur when your default gateway and interface IP address are not on the same subnet..in this case, my public IP address of eth0 is a /29.

• Problem Burning a DVD with Windows 7

  Hi, When I burn my files to a DVD using the Windows 7 drag and drop I can't actually see my files. Windows doesn't seem to finsih the DVD, even though I have followed the steps to do this. When I put the dvd in my XP machine it can see the files - so I know they are definatley being written correctly. Why can't I seem to finsh the DVD correctly? Is there some view I have set to see files already written? Thanks

• Cant install windows 7(boot problem)

  First of all, I cant boot my windows 7. I get a black screen with a cursor up in the left corner. So, I tried using windows 7 installation which I've put on my flash drive. To boot from the drive, I've changed the boot order to boot from the drive first. It boots but does not find any HDD to install the windows on(which is pretty logic, I dont boot the HDD soon enough for the installer). but if i put the HDD in front of the flash drive in the boot order, it will just try to load windows 7 and i will get the black screen again. I've tried putting the HDD first and clicking f8 a lot. All I've got is an error. Something about some software change. I dunno. Help me please, cant do anything with my laptop till then.

  **IGNORE THIS QUESTION - SOLVED WITH A PYTHON SCRIPT available at: http://yabahaus.blogspot.com I have to connect one customer Outlook 2010 to a remote server on which I have either no right, neither way to talk to the sysadmin. This is the thing, after installing and reviewing the logs on Wireshark: Outlook Express: HELO machine AUTH LOGIN username base64 encoded password base64 encoded mails go through. Outlook 2010: HELO machine AUTH DIGEST-MD5 response from server Outlook sends just a * AUTH LOGIN password base64 encoded So... I can send mails in the same domain, but can't send outside, it gives me a relay denied message. My point is... Why the h**l Outlook 2010 doesn't send the username AND the password?! It can never login the right way :| With other versions of Outlook it works fine, and with OE works great, it auths and allows to send mail to a different domain. I've googled and nothing worked. I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone with this one. My last resort will be to configure a local proxy/server that relays to the original one :| Any help would be appreciated. • problem getting scanning to work on epson workforce 610

  i installed the latest epson software on my user's computer. everything works fine from the admin account (printing / scanning). yet, when i go to user's account (the standard user mode account the company employee uses on there machine) and launch the epson scan software or scan settings software it times out and puts up a dialog box asking me if i want to use the trouble assistant. my question is why would this all work in the admin account yet not work in the user mode account? any help is greatly appreciated.

Wireless connection between laptop and router exists and Internet can be connected through laptop(manually) by using router as WAN miniport(PPPoE). What I want to do is connect the wireless router to Internet so that when laptop connects to router, I can start using the Internet. How do I do this? Please help.

  I have cpu with Pentium 4 3GHz processor. My motherboard is Intel 82865. I have installed the graphic driver for intel 82865 by using the graphic driver of Windows XP and changing the program's compatibility to Windows XP SP2. I got many thing ok with that. For example many resolutions and I can also play GTA. But what I want to know is why I cant view Aero and transparency effect in windows 7. It says contact the manufacturer for compbatible WDDM graphic driver.

• iTunes home sharing problem

  I have two iMacs running Snow Leopard. I have iTunes home sharing setup on the two of them using the same iTunes account credentials. Up until last night all worked fine... I could download an app on one iMac, then go to the other iMac and drag that app from the home sharing into that iMac's applications. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. I can see and browse the home sharing, however, when I go to drag an app or song from the share to the local library it gives me an error stating that I am unable to do so... when I click OK to this message I lose visibility to the home share. I have checked and this iMac is authorized with my iTunes account and I have even deauthorized and reauthorized but still the same result. Does anyone have any suggestions?

• Problem with creating table on phpMyAdmin database

  Hello all, I'm running a phpMyAdmin Database on my web package on a 1and1-hosted server. I've managed to set up a database in the control panel, have uploaded all to root/phpmyadmin and changed the config.ini.php file to point at 1and1's database server (because that's the way they do it). I can go to the web interface and get to the main page, but all it shows is the database name and I can't find how to create any tables. I know it's a long shot but I'm almost out of ideas. Also, 1and1 have their own phpmyadmin panel, which is pretty annoying to use, and a 1and1 webdatabase which I have barely looked at. Help and suggestions much appriciated.

  I have some filename with some Unicode character in it. All filenames on Mac OS X are UTF8 encoded. Also $LANG is set to en_US.UTF-8. • Problem Uninstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer

  On Windows Vista Home Premium (x64) I am trying to uninstall Microsoft Internet Explorer. The procedures explained all over the web involve going through the control panel to Programs and Features. If MSIE is listed there, then uninstall in the usual way. If it is not listed there, click Turn Windows features on and off and deactivate it there. But Internet Explorer is not listed in either place. Background: I initiated some process in MSIE a couple of months ago that caused all web pages to no longer save login information or remain logged in when requested. As you can tell from the way I described that, I don't remember what it was and have no way to simply reverse it. I had a few problems with .NET Framework as well. So, I've uninstalled all browsers except MSIE and uninstalled .NET Framework. I've reinstalled .NET Framework and all other browsers. I have not been able to uninstall MSIE. Have Tried: I tried installing over the existing installation, but auto-update must be keeping it nicely up to date. The attempt simply produced an information window telling me that my current version is more up-to-date than the new version I tried to install.

  I've used outlook pst files in the past with great success. a few weeks ago I exported about 2 years worth of email into a pst file. size is around 1.5 gb. when i try ti import that pst back into my outlook it says its not a pst file. I've tried to repair it using pstscan and it repairs errors and will even mount it in Outlook but Outlook cant see any emails, like its an empty pst file. Is there any other way to recover my emails besides loading up backupexec and recovering my mailbox before i made the pst?

• Wake on LAN Problem

  I'm working to get wake on lan (wol) working so that we can do some power management at my workplace. I've enabled WOL on a test laptop running Win 7 x64 and put it to sleep and hibernate both with no luck. I'm using a 3rd party utility and I've ran wireshark on the test laptop with it booted up and I can see the WOL packets coming in and the machine refuses to wake from sleep or hibernate. I thought maybe it was the computer I was using so I had another Win 7 x64 laptop nearby and I tried it, same scenario. We're in a cisco environment and I believe I gotten all the pieces in place since I'm seeing the WOL packets come through. I've tested two machines on the same subnet to eliminate the possibility of a misconfiguration on the switch, this also has the same behavior. The laptop models are a Compaq 6510b and 6730b. Is there something I'm missing? I'm trying this across UDP port 50200 since that's the port the actual management system will use after I get it working.

• Problem with usb wireless mouse

  Recently I have started having problems with my wireless mouse (Wireless Optical Mouse MI-4910D). Sometimes when I start my PC or during a game the pointer/arrow stops moving. When the PC boots the pointer is locked in the center of the screen. If I'm lucky it helps to change the USB wireless adapter from port 1 to port 2 but sometimes this trick doesn't work and I have to restart my PC to get the mouse to work again. Like you can see in the product web page this mouse don't have a driver but only a tool to solve some problems.   When I use zsh in interactive mode, I get some glitches. This mainly happens when the command spills over onto a new line and I use backspace, with backspace leaving behind some glitches on the screen and moving the cursor to an odd position. It happens in a VT, in xterm and urxvt, although it is most noticeable with my chosen terminal, urxvt. When I use zsh as a login shell, it does not happen at all. What could be causing this?
