  • Resize Clipping Path on window resize in WPF

    Hello, I was wondering how to resize a Clipping path dynamically when resizing the window. Right now I'm taking a rectangle in Expression Blend that resizes with the window. Applying this rectangle to a circle as a clipping path makes the rectangle fixed, and it won't resize anymore. I've seen different ways of making clipping paths in XAML, in the Clip="" property as well as style markup. But I haven't succeeded yet in finding a proper XAML solution. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

We use security exits to provide secure way to connect to Queue managers , Queue , channel. IS there any change in security mechanism in latest version so that we can completely avoid using security exits ? This is what our requirement/goal in MQ security Queuemanagers should be only accessible with providing proper username and password (I know this is not possible in 6.0 without security exits ) A legal user after authenticating queuemanager connection should be able to access only his queue / channel.   • ASP.NET - Extend gridview to allow filtering, sorting, paging, etc...

    I have seen threads on many sites regarding extending the gridview control so obviously this will be a duplicate. But I haven't found any that truly extend the control to the extent that you could have custom sorting (with header images), filtering by putting drop downs or textboxes in header columns (on a column by column basis) and custom paging (one that doesn't return all records but just returns the ones requested for the given page). Are there any good tutorials that show the inner-workings of the gridview and how to override the proper functions? I've seen several snippets here and there but none seem to really work and explain things well. Any links would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • UITextView autoscroll to last line

    Hi *, When writing in a UITextView more text than can fit entirely inside it, the text will scroll up and the cursor will often place itself one or two lines above the view's bottom line. This is a bit frustrating as I want my application to make good use of the entire height of the text view. Basically what I want is to configure the UITextView to write up to it's lowest part and not use it just for scrolling. I've seen some similar questions here, here and here. However I've not seen a proper solution yet. Thanks

    Hi everyone, I use vim with various plugins for editing ruby code. I have proper syntax highlighting set up but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get ruby syntax checking, similar to what you might see in an IDE such as visual studio, radrails, etc? Something that would simply turn stuff red or break highlighting when I'm missing an 'end' or have an improperly constructed line of code would be sweet. I googled and came across this plugin, http://github.com/scrooloose/syntastic/tree/master but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions.

  • How to parse invalid HTML with Perl?

    I maintain a database of articles with HTML formatting. Unfortunately the editors who wrote articles didn't know proper HTML, so they often have written stuff like: <div class="highlight"><html><head></head><body><p>Note that ...</p></html></div> I tried using HTML::TreeBuilder to parse this HTML but after parsing it and dumping the resulting tree, all the elements between <div class="highlight">...</div> are gone. I'm left with just <div class="highlight"></div>. The editors often have also done things like: <div class="article"><style>@font-face { font-family: "Cambria"; }</style>Article starts here</div> Parsing this with HTML::TreeBuilder results in empty <div class="article"></div> again. Any ideas how to approach this broken HTML and actually make sense out of it?

  • How to build 64-bit Python on OS X 10.6 -- ONLY 64 bit, no Universal nonsense

    I just want to build this on my development machine -- the binary install from Python.org is still 32 bits and installing extensions (MySQLdb, for example) is driving me nuts with trying to figure out the proper flags for each and every extension. Clarification: I did NOT replace the system Python, I just installed the Python.org binary into its normal place at /Library/..., not /System/Library/.... Everything else seems to build 64 bit by default, and the default Python 2.6.1 was 64 bit (before I replaced it with the Python.org build figuring it was a direct replacement)` I just want a 64 bit only build that will run on my one machine without any cruft.   • XML/XSD intellisense not working in Visual Studio 2010

    I am working on xml and xsd files in VS 2010 but intellisense isn't working. Intellisense is working for the same files in VS 2008, however. When I type '<xs:' options like "attribute", "complexType", "simpleType", or "element" do not appear. Is there some difference between the VS 2008 and VS 2010 that I'm missing? I add an xsd file to my solution. All the proper namespaces are generated automatically as such: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="XMLSchema2" targetNamespace="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema2.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema2.xsd" xmlns:mstns="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema2.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> </xs:schema> The "xsdschema.xsd" is in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\xml\Schemas" directory. There is a check mark in the "Use" column in the XML Schemas dialog box.

  • Forcing a mixed ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8 multi-line string into UTF-8

    Consider the following problem: A multi-line string $junk contains some lines which are encoded in UTF-8 and some in ISO-8859-1. I don't know a priori which lines are in which encoding, so heuristics will be needed. I want to turn $junk into pure UTF-8 with proper re-encoding of the ISO-8859-1 lines. Also, in the event of errors in the processing I want to provide a "best effort result" rather than throwing an error. My current attempt looks like this: $junk = &force_utf8($junk); sub force_utf8 { my $input = shift; my $output = ''; foreach my $line (split(/\n/, $input)) { if (utf8::valid($line)) { utf8::decode($line); } $output .= "$line\n"; } return $output; } While this appears to work I'm certain this is not the optimal solution.     I'm new to this whole JBoss/JUnit world. I'm trying to install the JBoss Drools plugin for the Eclipse IDE and I get this error. Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software currently installed: JBoss Drools Core 5.0.1 (org.drools.eclipse.feature.feature.group 5.0.1) Missing requirement: Drools Eclipse Plug-in 5.0.1 (org.drools.eclipse 5.0.1) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.jdt.junit 0.0.0' but it could not be found Cannot satisfy dependency: From: JBoss Drools Core 5.0.1 (org.drools.eclipse.feature.feature.group 5.0.1) To: org.drools.eclipse [5.0.1] I downloaded junit and told Eclipse to add it to the default classpath, and also added it to my login CLASSPATH variable, but Eclipse still complains. What's the proper way to install the plugin?

  • Android TitleBar / NavBar ?

    I am not sure what the proper term is, but I am trying to add a "TitleBar" to the top of one of the windows in my App. Much like the Contacts App, I have several Tabs along the top of the screen. When you select an item from the list, it loads the next Activity, but that Activity no longer has the Tabs at the top of the screen. I don't know if it is called a TitleBar or what. The Contacts App has this TitleBar along the top of the screen when you select a person from the list of Contacts. I am trying to mimick the Grey Bar that says "George Washington"

  • Why does my .NET Windows service not start automatically sometimes?

    Hi all, I have modified a working Windows service that had always been starting beforehand. After adding the System.Management reference it now sometimes will not start automatically. I get the following error: Service cannot be started. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010002): Call was canceled by the message filter. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED)) I found another post here on SO with someone having the same issue. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/998883/why-wont-my-net-windows-service-start-automatically-after-a-reboot However, the proposed solution was to have the service start after the services it depends on have started. However, when I go to the Dependencies tab for my service, I see: Should I just use the workaround method of putting the thread to sleep, or is there a more proper way of getting this service to start correctly? Is this happening because .NET has not started before my service starts? Thanks, Tomek

    Crayon Physics Deluxe is a commercial game that came out recently. Watch the video on the main link to get an idea of what I'm talking about. It allows you to draw shapes and have them react with proper physics. The goal is to move a ball to a star across the screen using contraptions and shapes you build. While the game is basically a wrapper for the popular Box2D Physics Engine, it does have one feature that I'm curious about how it is implemented. Its drawing looks very much like a Crayon. You can see the texture of the crayon and as it draws it varies in thickness and darkness just like an actual crayon drawing would look like. The background texture is freely available here. Close up of crayon drawing - Note the varying darkness What kind of algorithm would be used to render those lines in a way that looks like a Crayon? Is it a simple texture applied with a random thickness and darkness or is there something more going on?

    There's about 2 months left in Al Zimmermann's Son of Darts programming contest, and I'd like to improve my standing (currently in the 60s) to something more respectable. I'd like to get some ideas from the great community of stackoverflow on how best to approach this problem. The contest problem is known as the Global Postage Stamp Problem in literatures. I don't have much experience with optimization algorithms (I know of hillclimbing and simulated annealing in concept only from college), and in fact the program that I have right now is basically sheer brute force, which of course isn't feasible for the larger search spaces. I think, that it has to be done by greedy algorithm, however I haven't spend much time thinking about that. I suppose, You may enjoy solving this problem, and I will get my answer. Win-win situation :). Problem N people come to a river in the night. There is a narrow bridge, but it can only hold two people at a time. Because it's night, the torch has to be used when crossing the bridge. Every person can cross the bridge in some (given) time (person n1 can cross the bridge in t1 time, person n2 in t2 time etc.). When two people cross the bridge together, they must move at the slower person's pace. What is the mimimal time for the whole grup to cross the bridge?

    Hi... I have a ListView. If I want to base the html markup on a condition in respects to the databound item, what would be the best way to do that? What I mean is, is there any other way then putting <% % if/else blocks directly in the markup? I'm aware that a really ugly way of doing it, is putting html markup in the database field, and just let the Eval() squeeze out the proper markup (I'm not doing that). I would like to avoid putting actual <% % C# blocks in the code as well. Any good ideas?

  • [UIScreen applicationFrame] returning incorrect rectangle on landscape application launch (iPhone/iP

    Having trouble getting the correct bounds for my iPad application when launching it in landscape mode. I have the proper keys set in my Info.plist file, and my view controllers launch properly in landscape (and portrait, natch). In my applicationDidFinishLaunching: method I'm calling a selector after a 3 second delay, and that method makes a call to [[UIScreen applicationFrame]`, but it's returning me a portrait frame (ie height width). Does anyone know how to fix this? It smells like a bug to me (if so I'll file a radar), but if it's intended behaviour, where is it documented?

    Hi I have compiled Mozilla NPAPI plugin example npruntime on Mac OSX 10.5. It give me a libnprt.dylib I am bundling this dylib with proper plist. On loading the plugin, NP_GetMIMEDescription() is getting called (i am logging this), but its not going inside NP_GetEntryPoints(). How a part of code is getting loaded and a part not? Can you suggest me of any other documentation or example code? Any light on "How to make an NPAPI plugin for Mac"? Advance thanks -Parimal Das

  • How to compress CSS/JS in VS2010 Web Deployment Build Template?

    Hi all, We've recently upgraded from VS2008 - VS2010 (and hence upgrading from Web Deployment Project to proper deployment project). Obviously what's new in VS2010 web deployments is the introduction of Workflow as the build process template. Previously, we used a MSBuild task in the WDP to execute the Yahoo YUI Javascript/CSS compression module to minify/compress javascript and css files. Has anyone managed to accomplish this task with Visual Studio 2010? I have seen the new "SquishIt" compressor created by Justin Etheridge, but its not ideal as it "squishes" on the fly (e.g on Application_Start - Global.ascx) - which means you still have to push out all the uncompressed files to your web server before squishing. In the Workflow designer - i can see a toolbox item called "MSBuild" - just dont know how to use it to accomplish what i want. Been searching high and wide, no-one seems to know how. Surely someone out there has done this.

The following code gets me most of the way there: DataGridTemplateColumn column = new DataGridTemplateColumn(); column.CellTemplate = Resources[templateName] as DataTemplate; column.Header = headerName; column.HeaderStyle = new Style { TargetType = typeof(DataGridColumnHeader) }; column.HeaderStyle.Setters.Add(new Setter(DataGridColumnHeader.HorizontalAlignmentProperty, HorizontalAlignment.Center)); The header is, indeed, centered, but if the column is expanded, the header doesn't stretch. It just remains it's original width, leaving white gaps on either side of it, which looks terrible. What is the proper way to center the column header, such that it still occupies the full width?
