• How do I stop XElement.Save from escaping characters?

- by Daniel I-S
I'm populating an XElement with information and writing it to an xml file using the XElement.Save(path) method. At some point, certain characters in the resulting file are being escaped - for example, > becomes >. This behaviour is unacceptable, since I need to store information in the XML that includes the > character as part of a password. How can I write the 'raw' content of my XElement object to XML without having these escaped?

How can I make a HEAD request to the shortened URL in php and get the "Location" part of the header? Please help me with this. Thanks

• Google Maps: marker icons are multi over same location, why?

- by JakiT
I'm using Google Maps and have the map set to height/width=100%. I noticed that when I resize the browser window, my map marker icons appear to redraw on top of the same location. Meaning, if I should only have 1 map marker icon on "987 Main St", when I resize the browser window - multiple map marker icons are being now draw on top of "987 Main St" that shouldn't be there. Any ideas why this is happening and how to prevent it? UPDATE: Link to actual code

• How to save video from a url to disk, also how to begin playback after some buffering?

- by Shizam
First question is, given a url to an mp4 video, how can I save that file to disk? The followup to that is while its saving, can I begin playback after its buffered some of the video to disk or do I have to wait for the entire file to be written and then: MPMoviePlayerController* theMovie=[[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:theURL]; using the path to the local file. Thanks, Sam

• find window text and save txt to file named that wont work.

- by blood
hi, my code wont work and idk why. the point of my code is to find the top window and save a text file with the name the same as the text on the top menu bar (task bar i think?). then save some data to that text file. but everytime i try to use it the write fails if i set the name of the text file before hand so it wont change it will write the data to the file. but if i don't set it before hand it will make the text doc but not write anything to it. or sometimes it will just write numbers for the name (i think it's the handle number) then it will write the data. :\ it's odd can anyone help? #include <iostream> #include <windows.h> #include <fstream> #include <string> #include <sstream> #include <time.h> using namespace std; string header_str = ("NULL"); #define DTTMFMT "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S " #define DTTMSZ 21 char buff[DTTMSZ]; fstream filestr; string ff = ("C:\\System logs\\txst.txt"); TCHAR buf[255]; int main() { GetWindowText(GetForegroundWindow(), buf, 255); stringstream header(stringstream::in | stringstream::out); header.flush(); header << ("C:\\System logs\\"); header << buf; header << (".txt"); header_str = header.str(); ff = header_str; cout << header_str << "\n"; filestr.open (ff.c_str(), fstream::in | fstream::out | fstream::app | ios_base::binary | ios_base::out); filestr << "dfg"; filestr.close(); Sleep(10000); return 0; }

• How can you save Cocos2D window output as Video?

- by crunchyt
I am considering using the excellent looking Cocos2d for a motion graphics project. However, Cocos2d is intended for games, rather than producing an MPEG stream. Is it possible to save the output from a Cocos2d script to a MOV or MPG file? Ideally this needs to be done in a direct manner, not using a screen capture as this would not meet the requirements of the project. Hopefully there are some cocos2d gurus out there :D Thanks!
