• iCalcreator 2.6 event creation sent in an email w/o attachment

  G'day everyone, I am currently trying to send meeting invitations to Outlook recipients. After reading several blogs and various literature iCalcreator seems to be the most complete iCalendar PHP class available. And the documentation is just...crazily complete. If creating a iCal .ics file is OK, I can't find a nice way to send it by email to the attendees without having them to double click on an attachment. Just like Google Calendar and Outlook do, I would like to send emails that will automatically show the buttons Accept | Tentative | Decline upon reception without any other user action involved. If anyone ever had to realize that, I would be more than happy to get your feedback/help or even just relevant guidance. Thanks

• Solution to combine two submit buttons.. doing two different things from the same input

  I am trying to figure out how to combine two different forms, both require the same input but they do two different things. One form sends a request to the ecommerce platform to get the order status, and another form takes the same order number and returns a tracking code from USP or USPS. I am looking for some guidance on how I could combine these two actions.. one is currently using the POST method and the other GET. Here is an example .. so one is This one runs a validation script to confirm the order number is valid and then returns the order info if it is the second form is sending a get request to an asp file that is generating the proper tracking numbers. Can someone please point me to how I could begin to tackle this?

  Is a software engineering degree sufficient for being able to design efficient code in enterprise architecture ? I mean that's what I want to do, some people go to game schools (Vancouver Film School) to make games or work in that industry. are there such similar programs for enterprise software design/development ? Are there special courses in Java EE space and .NET ? is it suitable to just focus on java or both ? My ultimate goal would be consulting and developing enterprise software independently....but right now, I am starting school and just keep learning on the side. any guidance to resources on this industry would be appreciated or your insights. • Seam app with JBoss 'minimal' Config?

  I'd like to improve the performance of my Seam apps and JBoss appserver, particularly by removing things that aren't necessary in the standard configuration. Ideally, I'd like to be able to run it using the "minimal" profile. Can anyone give me any guidance as to what is needed to run a Seam app using "minimal"? Here are the kind of things my app requires: JPA, using Hibernate with a PostgreSQL backend EJB3 JSF (RichFaces/Facelets) E-mail, eventually, although not required at this particular moment I'll be developing my app using JBoss Tools on Eclipse, so I would also need anything that is required by the tools for development and deployment. I've found that the default configuration just has too many additional components and features installed by default, and that greatly affects performance when I'm trying to develop. Any help you can give would be great! Thanks!

One table with questions One table with the difficulity of the question One table with the category of the question However, what do I do with the answers? Have them as seperate columns in the question-table? It sounds like a bad practice.(Also, where do I have the correct answer) Each question will have 5 answers where only one of them is correct.

  I am a bit confusing in selecting the target version in Windows phone7 Application development. In my Windows phone7 app I need to use a light weight relational DB Which didn't introduce with version 7.0 but SQL CE with 7.1 version. The problem is if I select the target version as 7.1, then the devices which came up with windows phone7 OS 7.0 will not be able to install this. But I heard that all the devices that came with windows phone7 OS version 7.0 is upgradable for windows OS version 7.1 for free. If this is the case then if I select the development SDK version as 7.1, then will all the windows phone7 devices be able to install this? Like to know which will be the best Target version in this case to select, before I start developing. Any guidance/ Idea is highly appreciated. Thanks...

  Hello everybody. Fist of all I want to say IIS to me is like a vending machine to a monkey. So I have Windows XP SP2 with IIS 5.1 on it and an ASP.NET Web Forms project. I just want my website to be accessed by someone else from the internet or from my local network. How do I configure IIS so that is possible?   Hi. I have a project going on, and I am in charge of the front-end design, whereas my developers will work on the back-end with Ruby on Rails. I do not know Ruby on Rails, and am designing front-end using XHTML, CSS, jQuery, 960.gs CSS Framework. My developer is supposed to take my design and connect the elements of back-end to it, with Ajax too. What are the things that I should know while designing the template/view so that I won't kick my developers' asses with my design? How to help the connecting of elements painless?   I have been taken in to provide some seo guidance on a website which has been running since 2005. My problem is i want to use clean urls. The code that handles the url is hidden away in some class file.. and with over a few thousand lines of code its a struggle to rewrite it. So I'm think, I have gone through all the products and created a slug for them as a field in the product table. Is it possible to do something like an intermediate file for htaccess. Some thing like 1./clean-slug-comes-in/ 2.htaccess catches this and uses slug.php to find the relevant product id for the slug. 3.Then product.php?id=(ID.found.from.2) is loaded?

  Greetings... I'm trying to get my Sharepoint 2007 site to render in Standards mode when browsing in IE. Since makes every browser that I might be worrying about do just that, I decided to use it. I've read here and there that Standards mode could cause unwanted behavior to some OOTB functionality and style (fly-outs, calendar items, etc...), but can't find a full list containing error reference and ways to correct it. So, I'm looking for any kind of info and guidance on the matter...   Hi everyone, I'm designing a set of web services to allow our clients to connect from their apps to one of our systems. Our clients have their apps developed in all varieties of frameworks (.NET, Java, PHP, Python and even the occasional all JS app), so obviously WS is the way to go. Investigating a little about truly interop WS I've found that the way to go is to design first the WSDL and XSD and derive the implementations from there. What i'm really looking for is guidance if this is really the way to go. I've read that WCF creates interoperable WS but i'm not a fan of MS creating something standard. Should i use WCF or there is a good set of tools for designing WSDL and XSD without the pain i'm expecting. Thanks in advance

  hi, i need to calculate the frequency of all the terms inside a document. How can i do that ? i do not ask for codes. I am just asking for guidance.   So, I know that this has been done with a few Android apps before, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how, since it's not currently possible through the API. How does one adjust the playback rate of a sound played through MediaPlayer; either with or without adjusting the pitch is fine for now, though the latter is definitely preferred. • Google Maps API v3 - Directions/Paths breaking KML Overlay Infowindows

  I'm in the end stages before content filling and then production on the Google Maps project I've been working on. A number of bugs and such have been thwarted, but this latest one has me relatively stumped. The demo map can be viewed here: http://dougglover.com/samples/finalProduct/ Everything works fine until you create a path using the Directions section(not to be confused with Get Directions). To reproduce the problem, play around with the map, click on a building or two, just to see the functionality. After ensuring that clicking on a building works(brings up an infowindow), choose two buildings to get directions to in the Directions area. It works great with the routing algorithm I've implemented, and the paths show up nicely, and intelligently. The problem being that you can't click buildings anymore to see their info. I'm assuming it has something to do with the z-index error popping up in the console, but I'm not sure how to handle that if it is the problem. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. :)

• Configuring Warden for use in RSpec controller specs

  I was able to use Devise's sign_in method to log in a user in my controller specs. But now that I'm removing Devise from my application, I'm not quite sure how to get similar functionality working with just Warden on its own. How should I go about setting up spec/spec_helper.rb and related spec/support/*.rb files to get Warden running within controller specs sufficiently? I've tried setting up a file at spec/support/warden.rb with these contents: RSpec.configure do |config| config.include Warden::Test::Helpers config.after do Warden.test_reset! end end Then I have before calls similar to this to authenticate a user factory: before { login_as FactoryGirl.create(:user) } But here is the error that I keep seeing: NameError: undefined method `user' for nil:NilClass This error traces back to my authenticate_user! method in the controller: def authenticate_user! redirect_to login_path, notice: "You need to sign in or sign up before continuing." if env['warden'].user.nil? end I'd appreciate any guidance that anyone could provide.

  I’m building a site that needs users created with different roles and permissions to access different areas of the site. I using mvc 2 but I can’t find much clear guidance on using the Membership tool with mvc to create accounts and roles etc. I tried the web configuration tool which works but I would like to administrate the site remotely. I used the aspnet_regsql tool so I can access the SqlMembershipProvider Schema in my Database. I also need to add more information to a user like profile info and a picture, would I add these to the membership tables or create separate tables for this? • Storing cvs data for further manipulation using Ruby

  I am dealing with a csv file that has some customer information (email, name, address, amount, [shopping_list: item 1, item 2]). I would like work with the data and produce some labels for printing... as well as to gather some extra information (total amounts, total items 1...) My main concern is to find the appropriate structure to store the data in ruby for future manipulation. For now I have thought about the following possibilities: multidimensional arrays: pretty simple to build, but pretty hard to access the data in a beautiful ruby way. hashes: having the email as key, and storing the information in different hashes (one hash for name, another hash for address, another hash for shopping list...) (getting the cvs data in to a Database and working with the data from ruby??) I would really appreciate your advice and guidance!!

(I been trying to use the native functions of the Windows API, but my conclusion is that something is seriously wrong with the functions' behavior, or their documentation.) • Rails Load Data into Application every time a New User is Created

  Hi I am trying to figure out the "right" way to do this. In my application every time I create a new user I want to have specific data loaded into an associated table. The associated table is a different preset lists. So a User has many lists and those lists have many items. Some of those Items I want to be loaded when the User is created. I really don't know how to go about doing this but I am guessing something like: create User after_create: create Lists (need already existing data for the list names) after_create List then populate Items table with existing data for these Lists. Should I be using seed data for this? Is that alright for production and if so how exactly would I go about doing that. Any guidance or other recommendations are greatly appreciated.

  I was involved in an interesting debate about the visibility of domain models & was wondering if people here have any good guidance. Per my understanding of MDA, we need not expose the domain model throughout the application layers & tiers The reason being that any change to the domain model has an impact in the overall application The wise thing to do would be to expose light-weight object (DTO's) which are a small sub-set of the domain model to abstract the actual model On the flip side, any change to the domain model would mean changing various DTO's throughout the application for the change to be visible, while if we do expose the domain model, then the change is in a single location Hope to see some comments & thoughts about this. • Beginner, learning as I go - how to get C#/SQLite db set up and ready for testing?

  I've messed with Access a little bit in the past, had one class on OO theory, and one class on console c++ apps. Now, as a hobby project, I'm undertaking to write an actual app, which will be a database app using System.Data.SQLite and C#. I have the db's table structure planned. I have System.Data.SQLite installed and connected to VS Pro. I entered my tables and columns in VS, but that's where I'm stuck. I really don't know how to finish the db set up so I can start creating queries and testing the db structure. Can someone give me guidance to online resources that will help me learn how to get the db properly set up so I can proceed with testing it? I'm hoping for online resources specific to beginners using C# and System.Data.SQLite, but I'll use the closest I can get. Thanks.
