  When we create a .cs file means code file class is automatically create. That .cs file means class has default usings for namespace. using System;using System.Collections.Generic;using System.Linq;using System.Web;using System.Web.UI;using System.Web.UI.WebControls; We don't use all namespaces  in that class so we have to remove unused namespaces from file. We can remove  namespace manually but it takes time and need full knowledge of class library so we can use Visual Studio . Step 1:  Right Click in .cs File. Step 2:  Move on Organize usings. Step 3: Click on Remove Unused Usings. After that we have only those namespaces in the file these are using.

• Force Unity to open any file with any program

  When you drag a file to the Unity launcher, only the applications that are supposed to open that file will remain active, while all others become deactivated. Is it possible to configure Unity to ignore that setting and open the file, no matter what extension the file has, with any of the applications on the launcher? I'd be glad to get an unsupported file type from the application when I make a mistake instead of losing a bunch of time configuring what application can open what file (that's because it is no longer possible to add a custom application/path in the Open with... menu)

  I am using a Java library called PDFBox trying to write text to a PDF. It works perfect for English text, but when i tried to write Russian text inside the PDF the letters appeared so strange. It seems the problem is in the font used, but i am not so sure about that, so i hope if anyone could guide me through this. • OSX: The item XYZ.txt~ can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted

  I'm trying to delete a file under OSX Lion, but can't. I get the following message: The item XYZ.txt~ can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted. Here's what I've tried: select file and press COMMAND + DELETE (I get the message above.) renaming the file in finder (There is no option to rename the file.) sudo ls -a in a terminal (The file does not appear.) sudo rm XYZ.txt~ (I get "No such file or directory".) How do I remove this file? EDIT The file went away after restarting. My guess is that it was a glitch in finder.

• Writing an SVN hook that updates copy of committed code

  I have a SVN repository with a lot of sub-projects stored in it. Right now in my post-commit I just loop through all possible folders on the machine and run svn update on each: REPOS="$1" REV="$2" DIRS=("/path/to/local/copy/firstproject" "/path/to/local/copy/anotherproject" ... "/path/to/local/copy/spam") LOGNAME=`/usr/bin/whoami` for DIR in ${DIRS[@]} do cd $DIR sudo /usr/bin/svn update --accept=postpone 2>&1 | logger logger "$LOGNAME Updated $DIR to revision $REV (from $REPOS) " done The problem is that this is slow and redundant when I'm just committing the subfolder of one of the projects. I'm wondering if there's a better way of identifying which of the DIRS I should use and only update that one. Is there some way to do this? As far as I can tell there's no way to determine which part of a repo was committed and thus which directory needs to be updated. Is the only alternative to create a separate repository for each project? (Probably should have done that from the start, if so...)

• Writing your own Makefile for OpenBSD ports

  I have an OpenBSD box running Python 2.6. I want to install py-setuptools, but that package is built against 2.5. I was curious as to what the Makefile for py-setuptools [Someone with rep, fix me please][http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/ports/devel/py-setuptools/Makefile?rev=1.13;content-type=text%2Fx-cvsweb-markup ] looks like, to see if it mentioned anything about Python 2.5 as a dependency. I did not find anything version-dependent. I typed make install in /usr/ports/devel/py-setuptools on a whim, and it blew up because of failed missing Python 2.5 dependency. That is expected. My question is, How do I modify the Makefile to build against Python 2.6 ? I came across this in the man pages [please fix me][http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=port-modules&sektion=5&arch=&apropos=0&manpath=OpenBSD+4.6#CORE+MODULES] , but I am still clueless how to specify what version to build against. Also, I dont see anything that actually installs the egg.

  I have a problem with an snmpwalk query returning snmp variables in a non-uniform way: .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.215 -> Hex-STRING: 24 37 4C 0C 65 0E .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.216 -> Hex-STRING: 24 37 4C 0B A2 DA .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.217 -> STRING: "$7L f:" .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.218 -> STRING: "$7L k2" As you can see, some variables are of a STRING type, others are Hex-STRING. So, I'm trying to write a simple MIB to force them all come out as Hex-STRING. This is where I've gotten so far: TEST-MIB DEFINITIONS ::= BEGIN PhysAddress ::= TEXTUAL-CONVENTION DISPLAY-HINT "1x:" STATUS current SYNTAX OCTET STRING test OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX PhysAddresss MAX-ACCESS read-only STATUS current ::= { 1 3 6 1 2 1 10 127 1 3 3 1 2 } END However, snmpwalk doesn't seem to notice my textual convention (even though the "test" variable is being recognized). • Dell PE2950 - slow IO rates for writing and reading locally

  I'm having a serious issue with dell server PE2950. The server has really slow IO rates, so slow that I'm not able to use it anymore I tried few things to solve this: changing disks to new disks (configured them as raid1) changing perc card + perc cables reinstalling the OS of course, had to cause of changing of disks, centos 5.5 x64bit firmware update to everything virtual disks policy: No Read Ahead,Write Back, disk cache policy disabled. openmanage doesn't alert about anything, also i ran dell's diag tests, everything passed, also dell didn't see anything in deset log. dell offered to reseat everything, including the cpu, we did that as well, still io rates are slow I have several PE2950 servers, and I never had such a thing with any of those. All have similar or exact hardware as this one, all configured the same, with the same os centos 5.5 x64, same disks, same raid, same policy. • IT lead does not have a backup, DR plan in writing

  This is a general management question to IT managers out there. We are a small firm with about 4 servers in our colo cabinent. No full time IT manager. But we do have one person on monthly contract and I am having a terrible time getting him to share what these plans actually are. I am sure he HAS a plan (and its probably in his head..) but that does us no good if he gets hit by a bus.. How would you guys handle this? He is a long time friend, but I fear this is dangerous for us long term..I have confronted him on several occasions about this, and he tells me not to worry, he has go it covered.. Thanks.

• Performance Alert Writing to event Log but not running program

  I followed the instructions here How to create and configure performance alerts in Windows Server 2003 to set up an alert if the available logical disk space on one of my drives goes below a certain number. I selected the option to write to the application event log and select the "run this program" option and put in the path to a script that sends me an email. If I copy the path to the script and run it everything works and I get the email. When I start the alert I can see that the limit I set is being exceeded and the logs are being written to the application log, but the email is never being sent. I have the runas user and pword set to a Domain Admin. If I make the "run this program path" to C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe" it also doesn't start up the calculator. The Performance Logs and alerts services is running as Local Admin with allow to interact with desktop. What am I doing wrong?

  I'm using ZRAM as a backing block device for /tmp filesystem in the following manner: echo 8000000000 > /sys/block/zram0/disksize mkfs.ext4 -O dir_nlink,extent,extra_isize,flex_bg,^has_journal,uninit_bg -m0 \ -b 4096 -L "zram0" /dev/zram0 mount -o barrier=0,commit=240,noatime,nodev,nosuid /dev/zram0 /tmp chmod aogu+rwx /tmp It works out reasonably well for me - however, there is an issue here - when files are removed, they are not zero'ed, so the ZRAM does not remote the compressed pages. Obviously running dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/ZERO bs=1M count={free-space-some-rest}; rm /tmp/ZERO clears it up in the ZRAM - it gets notified of zero-pages and shrinks the store. How can I get ext4 to zero used pages on delete? Also, any other suggestions on how to optimize it?

Since my typical workflow looks like this: edit some code C-x C-o to the terminal buffer (or C-x b term[Enter] or something) press Up key to use the last command press Enter to run it C-x C-o to go back I want to bind all of these (except the first step... maybe) to one command, I believe Emacs is awesome enough to do that :-) So, a command must: go to the buffer with terminal (maybe it shouldn't change any windows at all, maybe it should split the window vertially (if it weren't split already) and use the right sid) run a last command what've been run there go back to the last buffer/part of the screen Thank you! I'm not really used to the Emacs scripting system, and I hope someone will help me and someone else will be able to use the answer to improve his workflow, since I believe this is a pretty common one Examples of commands: python manage.py test python manage.py test stats python solve.py # for project-euler puzzles :-) the first and the second runs over a ssh (in a terminal) sometimes (I like developing with vagrant) I understand that it's easy to bind the first and the third ones, but the second changes too often - I'd just like to "run last command"

• How do I set advanced file associations in Windows 7?

  It used to be in Windows XP that I could make Warcraft III files load automatically into the game by double clicking on them. This association was made by going to file associations ADVANCED area and using this line: "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\War3.exe" -loadfile "%1" Note that it takes an argument and an option. However, in Windows 7, the "Default Programs" "Set Associations" area doesn't seem to have this advanced area. Can I still get these files to open automatically?

• Windows 7 System process reading/writing like crazy

  I have a problem that my windows 7 computer sometimes starts accessing the disk like crazy for maybe 10 minutes at a time. The process in question is the "system" process. I have disabled superfetch and hibernation on my computer, if that makes any difference. I disabled those to see if they were the cause of the problems, but no change. I have 6 GB of RAM and only the web browser was started when I took the screenshot, so I don't think it was thrashing due to page faults. Any ideas on how to find the cause of this?

• Powershell Copy-Item fails silently

  I have a powershell 2.0 script running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit that copies some Hyper-V .vhd files to another server as a 'backup solution'. The script gets a list of the .vhd's to copy then iterates over that list to copy them using Copy-Item. It also writes some logging info to a file as well. The files are copied to another server (Windows Server 2003 Sp2) into a directory compressed with NTFS compression. One of the files isn't copied. It's relatively big ~ 68Gb. The others are 20Gb or less. The wierd thing is that during the copy process the file appears on the destination server and the log file generated seems to indicate the file is copied due to the difference in the times of the log file entries. I see no error messages on the log file and nothing in the event log of either machine. Here's the code that does the copy.   I have around 630 MBs of an MP3 podcast that I want to burn to a CD so that a friend can listen to it while driving. I understand that MP3 is very different from the normal audio CD format, but would it be possible to fit this amount onto a typical 700mb CD in the correct (non-MP3) format? • VirtualBox problems writing to shared folders (Guest Additions installed)

  I am trying to setup a shared folder from the host (ubuntu 10.10) to mount on a virtualized CentOS 5.5 with Guest Additions (4.0.0) installed (Guest addition features are working ie. seamless mode etc.). I am able to successfully mount the share with: mount -t vboxsf -o rw,exec,uid=48,gid=48 sf_html /var/www/html/ (uid and guid belong to the apache user/group) the only problem is that once mounted and I try to write/create directories and files I get the following: mkdir: cannot create directory `/var/www/html/test': Protocol error I am using the proprietary version of VirtualBox version 4.0.0 r69151. Has anyone had the same problem and been able to fix it or has any idea how to potentially fix this? Another question, the reason for setting this up is this. Our production servers are on CentOS 5.5 however I am a great fan of Ubuntu and would like to develop on Ubuntu rather than CentOS. However in order to stay as close to the production environment I would like to virtualize CentOS to use a web server and use the shared folder as web root. Anyone know whether this isn't a good idea? Has anyone successfully been able to set this up?
