  • Help with linq to sql compiled query

    Hi I am trying to use compiled query for one of my linq to sql queries. This query contains 5 to 6 joins. I was able to create the compiled query but the issue I am facing is my query needs to check if the key is within a collection of keys passed as input. But compiled queries do not allow passing of collection (since collection can have varying number of items hence not allowed). For instance input to the function is a collection of keys. Say: List<Guid> InputKeys List<SomeClass> output = null; var compiledQuery = CompiledQueries.Compile<DataContext, IQueryable<SomeClass>>( (context) => from a in context.GetTable<A>() where InputKeys.Contains(a.Key) select a); using(var dataContext = new DataContext()) { output = compiledQuery(dataContext).ToList(); } return output; Is there any work around or better way to do the above?

    I'm trying to use the bar_geom function of ggplot2, but I can't understand how to use it. I've made a small sample of my code to show what I am trying to do: library(ggplot2) # sample data sampleData = data.frame( v1=c('a','b','c','d','e', 'f','g', 'h', 'i','j'), v2=c(1:10) ) sampleData$Names = data.frame( Names = paste(sampleData$v1, sampleData$v2, sep="") ) sampleData$Values = c(1:10) # make plot x = sampleData$Values y = sampleData$Names qplot( x, y, data = sampleData, geom="bar" ) I want sampleData$Names to be on the x-axis of my graph, labeling each bar and and sampleData$Values to scale the bar height. I want the y-axis to be specified as a range. I realize that I don't understand how ggplot2 functions as this small example does not work, yet my other example is generating a plot but I cannot specify a y-range as it considers the variables to be categorical.

    I have a question regarding an iPhone game I'm developing. At the moment, below is the code I'm using to currently I loop through my multidimensional array and position bricks accordingly on my scene. Instead of having multiple two dimensional arrays within my code as per the following (gameLevel1). Ideally, I'd like to read from a text file within my project and loop through the values in that instead. Please take into account that I'd like to have more than one level within my game (possibly 20) so my text file would have to have some sort of separator line item to determine what level I want to render.     Hey again, I have the following code: visitSite.hidden = YES; For some reason, when I click a UIButton and call this piece of code, the visitSite button does not hide. ALSO I've noticed that the setAnimationDidStopSelector does not get called at all.     I am running a Django instance locally and doing some Facebook development. So, I set up a port on a remote machine to forward to my local machine, so that Facebook can hit the web server, and have the requests forwarded to my local machine. Unfortunately, I'm getting the following error in my browser when I try and access the page: http://dev.thegreathive.com/ Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I think the problem is on my local machine, since if I kill the SSH tunnel, the error message changes.

    Hi, I have the following class: public class Item { public Dictionary<string, string> Data { get; set; } } and a list of it: List<Item> items; I need to filter and order this list dynamicly using SQL-Like strings. The catch is, that I need to order it by the Data dictionary. For example: Order By Data["lastname"] or Where Data["Name"].StartsWith("a"). I thought to use the dynamic linq library, but is there any way that my clients can write without the Data[]? For example: Name.StartsWith("abc") instead of Data["Name"].StartsWith("abc") ? Here's what I want to happen. When the Delete thing is clicked ($('.delete')), I want the <li> item it's contained within to be removed. I've tried using $('.delete').parent().parent().remove(); but in the case of having two items, that seems to delete both of them. I'm a bit confused by this. I also tried using closest() to find the closest li, but that didn't seem to work either. How should I best traverse the DOM in this case? Thanks! Jack

I am new to software development and have designed several Client/Server applications over the last 12 months or so, I am currently working on a project that involves a user logging in to gain access to the application and I am looking at the most efficient and "simple" method of storing the users permissions once logged in to the application which can be used throughout restricting access to certain tabs on the main form. I have created a static class called "User" detailed below: static class User { public static int _userID; public static string _moduleName; public static string _userName; public static object[] UserData(object[] _dataRow) { _userID = (int)_dataRow[0]; _userName = (string)_dataRow[1]; _moduleName = (string)_dataRow[2]; return _moduleName; } } When the user logs in and they have been authenticated, I wish to store the _moduleName objects in memory so I can control which tabs on the main form tab control they can access, for example; if the user has been assigned the following roles in the database: "Sales Ledger", "Purchase Ledger" they can only see the relevant tabs on the form, by way of using a Switch - Case block once the login form is hidden and the main form is instantiated. Therefore I have now brought back the data and decrypt it in the application layer.     I am able to understand preorder traversal without using recursion, but I'm having a hard time with inorder traversal. I just don't seem to get it, perhaps, because I haven't understood the inner working of recursion. Also, some of the elements are getting printed twice; may be I can solve this by checking if that node has been printed before, but that requires another variable, which, again, doesn't feel right. Where am I going wrong? I haven't tried postorder traversal, but I guess it's similar and I will face the same conceptual blockage there, too. Thanks for your time!   • Need help parsing file/writing script

    Hey all, I have been doing nothing but web development over the last few years and haven't written any Java or C++ in what feels like forever. I don't necessarily need to use these languages, so I'm entirely open to suggestion. I was given an email list by a client to import into their mailchimp account yesterday and unfortunately, Mailchimp couldn't read the file. It's a text file, but I don't believe it's tab delimited (which would make this much, much easier for me). A small portion of the file (I've changed last names and email addresses) can be viewed here: http://sparktoignite.com/patients.txt If anyone has suggestions on how I can get this into a Mailchimp readable format (csv, tab delimited txt, excel) please let me know. I feel like 3 years ago I would've been able to do this in a matter of minutes, but given that I haven't touched anything other than RoR, PHP, and jQuery for the last few years, I don't know where to start.
