• UI Automation / Retrieve File Extension / C#

  Dear all, I am tasked with a project that requires me to retreieve a specific file from a folder where I can only get an X and Y on the screen. While in XP I managed to use the fact that windows explorer is in essence a list view, and used the WM_HITTEST message to obtain information about the file, in Windows 7, this is not the case. To solve this problem, I am using UI Automation, which is a great tool for such things, only problem is that in the case, the windows handle I am looking at belongs to the desktop, and the desktop might have several files with the same name but with different extensions (and windows is configured to "hide extensions of known file types") UI automation does not return the extension back to me. I have tried many things, but I cannot find any robust solution which would give me 100% success. Has anyone tried this? successfully? Would appreciate any pointers. Many thanks,

All the informations can be replaced by some widgets, but I would like to display the notifications too. As I already developed some applications, I would like to know if there is a command line that allow an application to get all the notifications. I plan to add this to a widget or a toast. • WPF Application that only has a tray icon

  I am a total WPF newbie and wonder if anyone could give me some pointers how to write an application that starts minimized to tray. The idea is that it periodically fetches an RSS Feed and creates a Toaster-Popup when there are new feeds. The Application should still have a Main Window (essentially just a list containing all feed entries), but that should be hidden by default. I have started reading about XAML and WPF and I know that the StartupUri in the App.xaml has to point to my main window, but I have no idea what the proper way is to do the SysTray icon and hide the main window (this also means that when the user minimizes the window, it should minimize to tray, not to taskbar). Any hints?

• Disable selected automated tests at runtime

  Is is posable to disable selected automated tests at runtime? I'm using VSTS and rhino mocks and have some intergation tests that require an external dependancy to be installed (MQ). Not all the developers on my team have this installed. Currently all the tests that require MQ inherit from a base class that checks if MQ is installed and if is not sets the test result to inconclusive. This works as it stops the tests from running, but marks the test run as unsuccseessful and can hide other failures. Any ideas?

• Change Call Screen

  I need to change or customize the call screen when initiating a call on Android. After searching on google I do not find any way to do it. There is no way to send DTMF tones during a call, the idea is to send a specific number to the call screen. So when a call is made is possible to see the number to dial during a call to the PBX. I tried to putting the number in the "status bar", but the notification hide after seconds and it is not practical. I appreciate any other suggestion. Thanks

• How to make this .htaccess rule case insensitive?

  This is a rule in my .htaccess # those CSV files are under the DOCROOT ... so let's hide 'em <FilesMatch "\.CSV$"> Order Allow,Deny Deny from all </FilesMatch> I've noticed however that if there is a file with a lowercase or mixed case extension of CSV, it will be ignored by the rule and displayed. How do I make this case insensitive? I hope it doesn't come down to "\.(?:CSV|csv)$" (which I'm not sure would even work, and doesn't cover all bases) Note: The files are under the docroot, and are uploaded automatically there by a 3rd party service, so I'd prefer to implement a rule my end instead of bothering them. Had I set this site up though, I'd go for above the docroot. Thanks

• Jquery.form plugin and jquery.validation and it's submitHandler not working correctly... please help

  Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to.   I've sorta got a little problem. I'm trying to add a popoverview to my app but part of the popoverview get's hidden by my navigation controller bar. How can I make my popoverview overlay over top of the navcontrollerbar? • How to stop the android soft keyboard from ever coming up in my entire application

  I'm developing an application on a hardware device that has a built-in hardware keyboard that does not slide out so is always visible (like a blackberry). Therefore, I NEVER want the soft keyboard to display for my entire application. I'm aware of another SO question that gives the following lines of code: InputMethodManager imm = (InputMethodManager)getSystemService(Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE); imm.hideSoftInputFromWindow(myEditText.getWindowToken(), 0); But I don't know where to put this code to hide the soft keyboard in all places where it might possibly appear in my Activity. I have tried adding the code to Activity.onUserInteraction to no avail. It seems the keyboard appears after the onUserInteraction executes.

  I have an update panel within which a sortable grid is present. While sorting, I have to change an image which shows the sort direction. The sort is an ajax operation initiated by a linkbutton for each column. Everything works fine except the image control. I am able to toggle visible property to show and hide it but, not able to change the ImageUrl property. imagesort.ImageUrl = "~/images/asc.jpg"; imagesort.Visible = true; The above code shows the image but the image is always the imageurl given in the markup not what is set in the code. If imageurl is not specified in the markup, no image(broken image) is shown irrespective of the above code.

• How can I scrape the current webpage with php/javascript?

  I have made the following webpage for generating interactive todo lists: http://robert-kent.com/todo/todo.php Basically, the user pastes a numbered todo list and each task is placed into it's own div with a unique id. Users can add notes to the tasks (done with javascript) and can click the green check when the task is done to hide it. I'd like to add an Export button which would generate a report of which tasks were completed and which were not, along with the user-entered notes. After a bit of searching I understand that what I want to do is scrape the page, but I haven't the faintest idea of the best way to do it. Many of the articles and tutorials I have found with Google involve scraping other sites and don't really explain how I could iterate over each div on the page. • C#: How to change the region containing MDI children?

  When creating a MDI parent, the entire "inside" of the form is made the MDI region. If you add a menustrip to the MDI parent, the MDI region is scaled down a bit to make room for the menustrip. But if you add a panel to the top of the MDI parent, the entire inside is still the MDI region. Which means that you can move MDI children up behind the panel, and hide their title line. If you move MDI children behind a menustrip, scrollbars appear, and you can scroll higher up to access the title line. But the scrollbars doesn't appear when you are using a panel instead of a menustrip. Because the MDI region doesn't know about the panel, I suppose. How can I scale the MDI region to start below a given Y value?

  Hi, I recently struggled with an apparently simple Android layout: I wanted a WebView above a Button. It worked fine with the following parameters: WebView: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset (by the way, what is the default?) Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset However if the web page became too big it spilled out over the button. I tried various combinations of weights and heights, and all except one either completely hide the button, or partially cover it. This is the one that works (copied from http://code.google.com/p/apps-for-android/source/browse/trunk/Samples/WebViewDemo/res/layout/main.xml): WebView: Height: 0 Weight: 1 Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset If you change any of those, e.g. give button a weight or change the WebView height to wrap-content then it doesn't work. My question is: Why? Can someone please explain what on Earth the android layout system is thinking?

• htaccess redirect from root to subfolder and then mask the url?

  Hello all, Two things: Firstly - I have version 2 of a website located in a folder named v2, and I want to redirect any traffic that is NOT a child of the v2 folder, to www.example.com/v2 The old site located in the root was created in iWeb and has a LOT of subfolders and sub-subfolders. So: www.example.com/v2 = New site www.example.com/Page.html www.example.com/category/Page.html ww.example.com/category/subcategory/Page.html = All generic examples of what I need to redirect. Secondly, and I don't know if this is possible, I want to hide /v2/ in the URL, so that visitors will just see www.example.com/page even though they are actually on www.example.com/v2/page Links are hardcoded to the v2 folder, like so <a href="v2/contact.html" Any help is MOST appreciated. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but I'm only just learning about htaccess and regular expressions, and am totally confused. Thanks so much!

• How to style content in jQuery Facebox

  I'm using jQuery Facebox plugin to create some modal windows. One situation is to display errors that might occur. If JS is disabled, I do this by displaying any errors in a normal div that is styled by CSS using a class selector. If the user does have JS enabled however, that div is hidden and the info is displayed in a facebox. The problem I have is that all the CSS styling is lost when the data is displayed within a facebox window. I understand that you can attach extra classes if you're calling facebox from a rel attribute in an anchor tag, but I'm using it programatically. Is there a way I can bind something to the facebox method?   At the beginning of a section of C# code that could take several seconds to complete, I'd like to display a non modal form with a label that just says, "Please wait..." So I only see the frame of the form. In Delphi (my old stomping ground) I would call Application.ProcessMessages after the Show() Is there an equivalent in C#? • Hiding Row in DataGridView Very Slow

  I have a DataGridView in a Winforms app that has about 1000 rows (unbound) and 50 columns. Hiding a column takes a full 2 seconds. Am I missing something obvious, like setting IsReallySlow = false? Or do I have to go ahead and enable Virtual Mode and code up the necessary events?

  Is it possible to hide certain functions/fields from displaying in javascript intellisense drop down list in Visual Studio 2008? Either by javascript documentaion XML of by naming privates in a certain way? • Loginview control asp.net mvc

  Hello all, I have been searching and haven't got luck, I got a tutorial to use the loginview control in order to display or hide parts of the views to different user roles in my application. The thing is that the tutorial I've found is for ASP.NET and I've been told by one of my colleages that it is the same framework for ASP.NET MVC but the way to use it is different. Have you got any good tutorial to recommend? EDIT: I've got all my application set up, and the login and the roles already configured (via asp.net membership provider). This is all already running. The thing is that if I have role a and role b I want role a to be able to actually see the links to the actions it is authorized to work with, and not b for example. If in the Index of my application I've got a link to "Edit" and only the role a can access to the action, then it will be displayed just for logged in users that belong to role a, and not to those who belong to role b Thank you, Vikitor
