  • using OOoWrite, i would like to add custom html elements

    I have 35 pages list of scientific references. In order to upload them to a webpage, I would like to add custom fields before and after each reference. I would also like to find italicized text and add around it. For instance, I would like this paragraph Alouf N., 1973. Biotope et description de Niphargus altagahizi n. sp., Amphipode Gammaridé souterrain du Liban, International Journal of Speleology 5: 49-61. to look like: <p class="cite">Alouf N., 1973.     In my javascript file there is, var htm = '<div style="overflow:hidden;height:24px;width:150px;" onmouseover="tooltip(this)">' ; function tooltip(sp) { sp.title = sp.innerHTML; } So on mouse over a text the tooltip is displayed.But the tool tip does not stay longer. meaning the position is not fixed. Can the code be modified such that mouse over should be done on the text and the tool tip also........

If possible please donot provide the solution in JQuery.   • Html dynamically repeated border-image

    I have a table which border I want to have a sort of zig-zag shape. I want the table to have an automatic size; resizing depending on how big the browser is. But rrathe than just having an image that gets stretched I want a seamless image that gets repeat instead. I found out this can be done with CSS3's Border-image but by looking and Browser Statistics I can see than only about half of all the viewers will be able to see it since no version of IE does yet support it. So I'm looking for an alternate method. What would be the best way of doing it? Thanks in advance!

  • Align table columns HTML

    I finally was able to align the columns in the tables of a page of my website. Though I found the solution I don't understand it. This is a fiddle I prepared. If you delete display: block from the CSS the columns are centered perfectly. The fact is that I don't understand what that instruction is causing problems, doesn't it means that elements are displayed as block elements? Shouldn't it cause the elements (the raw in particular) to fill an entire line? Thanks for your explanation

    Hi, few questions, just wondering if anyone can help? I have a table with 1 long row (1000 pixels) and one single column, how do i go about creating a method whereby when the mouse cursor is on the leftmost side of the cell, a variable, lets say X is set to 0, the further right the mouse cursor moves in the cell, the value of X increases. I know that sounds like a strange question but im working on a project where this type of functionality is desired. Is there a javascript method to create this feature? Thanks for any help.

    Hi, all. I'm looking for a way to replace the bullet character in Greasemonkey. I assume a Regular Expression will do the trick, but I'm not as well-versed in it as many of you. For example, "SampleSite.com • Page Title" becoming "SampleSite.com Page Title". The issue is that the character has already been parsed by the time Greasemonkey has gotten to it, and I don't know how to make it recognize the symbol. I've tried these so far, but they haven't worked: newTitle = document.title.replace(/•/g, ""); newTitle = document.title.replace("•", ""); //just for grins, but didn't work anyway

  • PHP HTML table is too wide

    I have a table that I cannot get to size correctly. The table populates with information from a database via a loop. Sometimes if the data is too long the table extends past where it should. When the data is that long I want the data to wrap in the cells so the table stays where it should. I have tried the normal table data but it isn't working.     I'm using JavaScript to load an image into my Canvas element in Firefox. This works fine for local images, but throws a security exception for external images. Is there any way to avoid this security exception, one that does not involve my server having to act as proxy to load the image locally (because that would stress my server)? Right now i have just started this (haven't persisted anything to the db yet) so i am not doing any explicit encoding in my code now. What is the best practice for where i need to do encoding (in the model, the controller, the view ??)
