We are running Microsoft Server 2003 with IIS. We would like to give our developers access to manage IIS (through IIS Admin) but do not want them to be administrators of the entire machine.
Putting them in "Power Users" group does not seem to work.
What permissions should we grant to our developers to allow them to manage IIS (e.g. add websites, modify app pools, etc.) without giving them full admin rights to the server?
I was wondering if there is a way to access a deeply nested shared networked Windows folder on Mac (Lion) like you can on windows with the Run box. say I know the folder I want is on the computer Homer-PC, the G drive, the folder ABC/234/CDE
on Windows I can Win+R then \Homer-PC\G\ABC\234\CDE return and it should open that folder directly,
Is there something similar on the Mac? Or is there some tiny apps that I can use to do that? Thank You
Windows 7 computer running SQL Server Express 2008 (sp1).
When I try to run net start mssql$sqlexpress I receive an error:
System error 5 has occurred.
Access is denied
The SQL service is running under "Network Service" account
The service starts fine if I use the services window. Could somebody help me figure out why I am receiving this error?
I have set up my Postfix, with TLS/SSL, correctly. Every test on the machine itself (with telnet) runs fine.
However, when I want to access the server from somewhere else, it fails.
So port 587 and the rest is blocked for some reason, but I don't really know where.
For the last few months, I've been using a server on my home network for basic backups and hosting some small websites. Up until this past week, I've been using Comcast (cable) as an ISP and now that I've moved into an apartment, I'm using AT&T. (DSL)
I've set up dynamic DNS and I can verify it works externally. However, I can't seem to access the public address from within the local network. Is there something DSL does differently from Cable that makes this frustration possible?

As per the title.
My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?

Hello! I just saw a deal on Newegg for this surveillance camera kit and it got me to thinking about installing a setup in my house. Can anyone recommend a decent surveillance camera kit, nothing fancy, that will allow me to access it from any computer (whether it's through a webpage or client program I need to install)?
Thanks so much in advance for your help, I'm going to start researching this question right now.
Our 64-bit windows server can no longer access the internet although it is a web-server that is hosting webpages accessible by the internet. Since this dilemma the server can no longer receive windows updates or Symantec virus definitions.
We have checked our firewalls so nothing is blocked. Any insight on why this issue happened would be appreciated.
Also the server is running IE6 which we have been trying to update.
We can access our website from other systems, but when logged into the local machine where the site is hosted it does not resolve to the site... for example: http://mysite.com/folder/page.aspx gets a 404.... from the local machine we also cannot ping mysite.com ... What are some common things to check to troubleshoot this issue? I'm new to IIS 7 so sorry for the vague question.
I am successfully connected to my workplace via vpn. But when I try to connect to my pc via remote desktop it keep asking for credentials even I am providing the right one. This works fine in windows xp but unable to connect using win 7. Also after establishing a vpn I lost my internet access.

TSystem.Data.Odbc.OdbcException was unhandled
Message: ERROR [42S00] [SmartWare Software][SmartWare ODBC Driver][ISAM]Table access error
Just curious as to what usually causes this error, or how better to find out what is causing my error. Thank you
An interesting situation here.
We have a database server, used for testing only, where someone went in and deleted the administrator login.
Since this is a test server the was no other admin level login on the server.
Is there a way to get access to the server again without reinstalling SQL Server?
We do not need the data in the databases, these are droped and recreated everytime the tests are run.
I setup a windows 2008 server for some internal stuff (file sharing, sql server, etc). I only need to access the machine from computers that are inside the network. What is the best/easiest way to block all outgoing and incoming traffic on the server?
What package do install to get access to "psql" client on windows xp? I don't want to install a server, only the command-line client, and maybe pg_dump and co.
I am connecting to Postgresql 8.4 server.

Hi, I was wondering how to access a Linux (Ubuntu Karmic to be exact) on the local network when it is connected through a Mac with Internet sharing (AirPort to Wired).
Thanks
Hi,
I can access the Windows 2003 server from my Mac, but can't see all the files. I am using Snow Leopard and have followed fixes online. All get me connected and I can see all folders, but not all files within these folders appear.
Someone else using a Mac can see all files which is very odd.
Any help much appreciated.

Normally when I save a password in Safari it will get added to my login keychain without fuss (assuming that it is already unlocked). But after I set a a master password the default keychain was changed to FileVaultMaster. When I set it back to login Safari then started to always ask for permission to access the keychain.
To get it back to the default behavior should I chose always allow or is there something else I should do?
I can easily access my trac environments with Firefox, but when I do it with Chrome it asks me to authenticate, but doesn't let me in only authentication dialog appears again and again. Any idea what might be the problem?
