  • How does java permgen relate to code size

    - by brad
I've been reading a lot about java memory management, garbage collecting et al and I'm trying to find the best settings for my limited memory (1.7g on a small ec2 instance) I'm wondering if there is a direct correlation between my code size and the permgen setting. According to sun: The permanent generation is special because it holds data needed by the virtual machine to describe objects that do not have an equivalence at the Java language level. For example objects describing classes and methods are stored in the permanent generation. To me this means that it's literally storing my class def'ns etc... Does this mean there is a direct correlation between my compiled code size and the permgen I should be setting? My whole app is about 40mb and i noticed we're using 256mb permgen. I'm thinking maybe we're using memory that could be better allocated to dynamic code like object instances etc...

  • problem with iterate over java.util.Map using "JSF" OR JSTL TAGS

    - by New-To-Java
I'm using Richfaces jsf and I want to iterate over an Map<Object,Object>. I see many examples on sun forums and other sites but in my case it doesn't work ! here is my xhtml code : <c:forEach items="#{order.customOptions}" var="option"> <h:outputText value="this text does not print"/> <h:outputText value="#{option.value.name}" /> <h:outputText value="#{option.value.key}" /> </c:forEach> and the "order" object is of type "Order". "customOptios" is of type Map<CustomOption,CustomOptionValue> and when I create an javascript alert on to print '#{order.customeOptions}' it's content is true. but it's not even enter in c:forEach loop. please heeeeelp me :(

  • Intellij Idea 13.x and ASM 5.x library incompatible?

    - by Jarrod Roberson
    I can't get Intellij Idea 13.0 to compile my code against ASM 5.0.3 I have a multi-module Maven project. It compiles and installs successfully. Apparently com.google.findbugs:findbugs has a dependency on asm:asm:3.3 and I want to use org.ow2.asm:asm:5.0.3 to manipulate some bytecode. So in the parent pom.xml I exclude the asm:asm:3.3 dependencies from the classpath. This works fine when I run mvn install from the command line. I can't get the Build - Make Project menu selection to work in Intellij Idea. Here is the relevant parts of my pom.xml files. parent.pom <dependency> <groupId>org.ow2.asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm</artifactId> <version>5.0.3</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.ow2.asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm-tree</artifactId> <version>5.0.3</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.ow2.asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm-util</artifactId> <version>5.0.3</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.ow2.asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm-commons</artifactId> <version>5.0.3</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>com.google.code.findbugs</groupId> <artifactId>findbugs</artifactId> <version>2.0.3</version> <exclusions> <exclusion> <groupId>asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm</artifactId> </exclusion> <exclusion> <groupId>asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm-commons</artifactId> </exclusion> <exclusion> <groupId>asm</groupId> <artifactId>asm-tree</artifactId> </exclusion> </exclusions> </dependency> Here is the code that is failing 18 public static void main(final String[] args) throws IOException 19 { 20 final InputStream is = NotEmptyTest.class.getResourceAsStream("/com/vertigrated/annotation/NotEmptyTest.class"); 21 final ClassReader cr = new ClassReader(is); 22 final ClassNode cn = new ClassNode(); 23 cr.accept(cn, 0); 24 for (final MethodNode mn : cn.methods) 25 { 26 - 38 snipped for brevity 39 } 40 } 41 } Here is the error message: Information:Using javac 1.7.0_25 to compile java sources Information:java: Errors occurred while compiling module 'tests' Information:Compilation completed with 1 error and 2 warnings in 2 sec Information:1 error Information:2 warnings /<path to my source code>/NotEmptyTest.java Error:Error:line (24)java: incompatible types required: org.objectweb.asm.tree.MethodNode found: java.lang.Object Warning:Warning:java: /<path to my project>//NotEmptyTest.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations.   • Multiple threads stuck on Tomcat behind Apache mod_proxy

    - by Eddy
we just took a break at butting our collective heads against this maddening problem we're having. Basically this brand new deployment of Tomcat 6.0.36 crawls down to a halt every couple minutes with many of the worker threads stuck as in the example snippet; only after a while the server gets "unstuck" for another couple minutes. The previous Tomcat works a charm though, but keeping it is not really an option... On netstat, we also see a lot of FIN_WAIT and FIN2_WAIT. "catalina-exec-25" daemon prio=10 tid=0x000000004f9d4000 nid=0x7459 runnable [0x0000000044567000] java.lang.Thread.State: RUNNABLE at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite0(Native Method) at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(SocketOutputStream.java:92) at java.net.SocketOutputStream.write(SocketOutputStream.java:136) at org.apache.coyote.http11.InternalOutputBuffer.realWriteBytes(InternalOutputBuffer.java:756) at org.apache.tomcat.util.buf.ByteChunk.flushBuffer(ByteChunk.java:448) at org.apache.tomcat.util.buf.ByteChunk.append(ByteChunk.java:363) at org.apache.coyote.http11.InternalOutputBuffer$OutputStreamOutputBuffer.doWrite(InternalOutputBuffer.java:780) at org.apache.coyote.http11.filters.IdentityOutputFilter.doWrite(IdentityOutputFilter.java:118) at org.apache.coyote.http11.InternalOutputBuffer.doWrite(InternalOutputBuffer.java:593) at org.apache.coyote.Response.doWrite(Response.java:560) at org.apache.catalina.connector.OutputBuffer.realWriteBytes(OutputBuffer.java:364) at org.apache.tomcat.util.buf.ByteChunk.flushBuffer(ByteChunk.java:448) at org.apache.catalina.connector.OutputBuffer.doFlush(OutputBuffer.java:318) at org.apache.catalina.connector.OutputBuffer.close(OutputBuffer.java:274) at org.apache.catalina.connector.Response.finishResponse(Response.java:493) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:317) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:861) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:606) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(JIoEndpoint.java:396) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) Any idea? • Can't seem to disable Java Automatic Update

    - by sbussinger
I'm just tweaking out my new Windows 7 laptop and wanted to disable the automatic Java updating (and thus kill the silly jusched.exe background process), but I can't seem to get it to actually turn it off. I found the Java Control Panel applet and found the settings on the Update tab that should control it. I can turn them off, apply them, and close the dialog successfully. But if I just open the dialog backup again right away, I see that the changes weren't actually made. I've tried it numerous times and it just doesn't take. What's up with that? I also tried to disable the icon in the system tray and got the same effect. Changing the size of the Temporary Internet Files cache work however. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Java Framework Choice Question.

    - by Sarang
We do have many frameworks available in Java. Struts, Swing, JSF 2.0, Spring etc are used as per their priority. Actually, I don't know how many they are as well! But, as I am fresher to Java, even learning after their architecture, I cannot decide which framework can be used with what type of Projects ! Also, I am confused with mixed use of framework like Spring + JSF. What is the benefit to it ? Another thing making me confusing is about the UI components available in market. Like, we do have Primefaces, Ice-faces, MyFaces, Rich-faces. They may or may not have been supporting AJAX in-built. They may contains some bugs as well. What is best choice for Framework + UI component that can directly provide a best feet solution for any project ?

  • reduce memory footprint of java virtual machine

    - by Lorenzo Boccaccia
I've a citrix server where multiple users use a multiple java application. Is there a way to reduce the memory footprint of the jvm itself? The max heap is already set fairly low (64MB), as the permgen (32MB) space and we're to the point that the jvm itself uses way more memory than the application itself (the committed area is around 350MB) I'm looking for a way to reduce the jvm ram usage or to make the all the applications run within the same jvm or any other way of sharing common pages between running jvm (if possible) or try switch to switch to a jvm if a jvm exists having optimizations relative to this scenario currently using windows 2003 server and sun java virtual machine 1.6

  • Jetty with a custom JUL logger

    - by Alan Williamson
I feel this should be easier, or I am missing something obvious. I am trying to use our custom JUL logging library with Jetty. No matter where I put the JAR file for the custom logger, it is not found. I have tried the usual suspects; /lib/, /lib/ext/, /WEB-INF/lib/ and even manually added it to the classpath. 2011-06-29 15:27:34.518::INFO: Started [email protected]:8080 Can't load log handler "net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler" java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217) I am starting up Jetty using "-jar start.jar" technique. Searching around, I have spotted a couple of threads that talk about this problem, but with no resolution. Or if there was, they didn't answer with their solution. Can anyone help on this front? Thanks

  • Windows' "open with" with java and a jar file

    - by Boldewyn
I use the rest-client to test REST APIs. It is basically just a .jar file, that is called via java -jar rest-client.jar. The rest-client uses two file extensions, in my case .rcq, to store data in files. I want to let the explorer open .rcq files with java -jar rest-client.jar <infile>, however, if I configure it (via GUI) to use the JAR alone, it obviously doesn't work. I'd be fine with touching HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT for this, as well, but don't know the exact syntax. By the way: It's WinXP.

  • Java RMI cannot connect to host from external client.

    - by Koe
I've been using RMI in this project for a while. I've gotten the client program to connect (amongst other things) to the server when running it over my LAN, however when running it over the internet I'm running into the following exception: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: (private IP of host machine); nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPEndpoint.newSocket(Unknown Source) at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPChannel.createConnection(Unknown Source) at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPChannel.newConnection(Unknown Source) at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.rmi.server.RemoteObjectInvocationHandler.invokeRemoteMethod(Unknown Source) at java.rmi.server.RemoteObjectInvocationHandler.invoke(Unknown Source) at $Proxy1.ping(Unknown Source) at client.Launcher$PingLabel.runPing(Launcher.java:366) at client.Launcher$PingLabel.<init>(Launcher.java:353) at client.Launcher.setupContentPane(Launcher.java:112) at client.Launcher.<init>(Launcher.java:99) at client.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:59) Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(Unknown Source) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(Unknown Source) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.<init>(Unknown Source) at sun.rmi.transport.proxy.RMIDirectSocketFactory.createSocket(Unknown Source) at sun.rmi.transport.proxy.RMIMasterSocketFactory.createSocket(Unknown Source) ... 12 more This error is remeniscent of my early implementation of RMI and I can obtain the error verbatum if I run the client locally without the server program running as well. To me Connection Timed Out means a problem with the server's response. Here's the client initiation: public static void main(String[] args) { try { String host = "<WAN IP>"; Registry registry = LocateRegistry.getRegistry(host, 1099); Login lstub = (Login) registry.lookup("Login Server"); Information istub = (Information) registry.lookup("Game Server"); new Launcher(istub, lstub); } catch (RemoteException e) { System.err.println("Client exception: " + e.toString()); e.printStackTrace(); } catch (NotBoundException e) { System.err.println("Client exception: " + e.toString()); e.printStackTrace(); } } Interestingly enough no Remote Exception is thrown here. Here's the server initiation: public static void main(String args[]) { try { GameServer gobj = new GameServer(); Information gstub = (Information) UnicastRemoteObject.exportObject( gobj, 1099); Registry registry = LocateRegistry.createRegistry(1099); registry.bind("Game Server", gstub); LoginServer lobj = new LoginServer(gobj); Login lstub = (Login) UnicastRemoteObject.exportObject(lobj, 7099); // Bind the remote object's stub in the registry registry.bind("Login Server", lstub); System.out.println("Server ready"); } catch (Exception e) { System.err.println("Server exception: " + e.toString()); e.printStackTrace(); } } Bad practice with the catch(Exception e) I know but bear with me. Up to this stage I know it works fine over the LAN, here's where the exception occurs over the WAN and is the first place a method in the server is called: private class PingLabel extends JLabel { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; public PingLabel() { super(""); runPing(); } public void setText(String text) { super.setText("Ping: " + text + "ms"); } public void runPing() { try { PingThread pt = new PingThread(); gameServer.ping(); pt.setRecieved(true); setText("" + pt.getTime()); } catch (RemoteException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } That's a label placed on the launcher as a ping test. the method ping(), in gameserver does nothing, as in is a null method. It's worth noting also that ports 1099 and 7099 are forwarded to the server machine (which should be obvious from the stack trace). Can anyone see anyting I'm missing/doing wrong? If you need any more information just ask. EDIT: I'm practically certain the problem has nothing to do with my router settings. When disabling my port forwarding settings I get a slightly different error: Client exception: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: (-WAN IP NOT LOCAL IP-); but it appears both on the machine locally connected to the server and on the remote machine. In addition, I got it to work seamlessly when connecting the server straight tho the modem (cutting out the router. I can only conclude the problem is in my router's settings but can't see where (I've checked and double checked the port forwarding page). That's the only answer i can come up with.

  • JAVA vs .NET Technology - Way 2 go Futher

    - by Sarang
I have my subject .net acedemically. I also learned core-java and did a project as well. I took training from a java firm. Now, as a skill I do have knowledge as both language. But, it is creating a large problem to me that, which field I should chhose? Even if having better OOP funda, will it be easier for me to transfer from one-another in future ? Please suggest me a way. Also, we do have may technologies available at both side, like JSP, JSF, J2ME, Share Point, SilverLight etc. Which is better as per their reliabity point of view? Which are fast growing and useful technologies used mostly in current IT corporate world ? Are they easier to learn at fresher's point of view? Please answer. Perhaps, this answer may help me mostly to create my way to learn them and go further.

Ideally I would like to know class names which are responsible say, for 80% of heap in each "young gen - old gen" promotion chunk; Example: I have 600M young gen, each tenure promotes 6M; I want to know which objects compose this 6M. Thank you.

  • symfony 1.4 embedForm not returning all embedded forms

    - by Patrick
I have a form with multiple embedded forms and symfony is not binding all the embedded forms. The layout is a m-to-m layout: activity: id: link: id: activity_id: FOREIGN KEY to activity table other_data_id: FOREIGN KEY to other_data table other_data: id: For instance I have 7 identical embedded forms iterated at the end of each name (ie- form_1, form_2, ..., form_7). With the new and edit forms all the 7 fields display properly, but when I submit the form, the embedded forms after a certain number just aren't in the embedded forms array of the sfForm. I have two different embedded forms, the first form stops binding at 5 and the second form stops binding at 4. I've looked at the array of posted values through $request->getPostParameters(); and all the fields are there. If I manually enter the data into the database, the binding works without a problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  • Java JRE 7 Certified with Oracle E-Business Suite

    - by Steven Chan (Oracle Development)
Java Runtime Environment 7u10 (a.k.a. JRE 1.7.0_10 build 18) and later updates on the JRE 7 codeline are now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12 Windows-based desktop clients. What's needed to enable EBS environments for JRE 7? EBS customers should ensure that they are running JRE 7u10, at minimum, on Windows desktop clients. Of the compatibility issues identified with JRE 7, the most critical is an issue that prevents E-Business Suite Forms-based products from launching on Windows desktops that are running JRE 7.  Customers can prevent this issue -- and all other JRE 7 compatibility issues -- by ensuring that they have applied the latest certified patches documented for JRE 7 configurations to their EBS application tier servers.  These are summarized here for convenience. If the requirements change over time, please check the Notes for the authoritative list of patches: Apply Forms patch 14615390 to EBS 11i environments (Note 125767.1) Apply Forms patch 14614795 to EBS 12.0 and 12.1 environments (Note 437878.1) These patches are compatible with JRE 6 and 7, production ready, and fully-tested with the E-Business Suite.  These patches may be applied immediately to all E-Business Suite environments. All other Forms prerequisites documented in the Notes above should also be applied.  Where are the official patch requirements documented? All patches required for ensuring full compatibility of the E-Business Suite with JRE 7 are documented in these Notes: For EBS 11i: Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i (Note 290807.1) Upgrading Developer 6i with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i (Note 125767.1) For EBS 12 Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Note 393931.1) Upgrading OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Note 437878.1) Prerequisites for 32-bit and 64-bit JRE certifications JRE 1.70_10 32-bit + EBS 11.5.10.2 Windows XP SP3 Windows Vista SP1 and SP2 Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1  Forms 6.0.8.28.x patch 14615390 (Note 125767.1) JRE 1.70_10 32-bit + EBS 12.0 & 12.1 Windows XP SP3 Windows Vista SP1 and SP2 Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1 Forms 10g overlay patch 14614795 (Note 437878.1) SSL Users:  10.1.0.5 version of Patch 6370967 applied to AS 10.1.3 with OPatch. No need to worry -- it's fixed.  To recap: JRE releases 1.6.0_18 through 1.6.0_22 had issues with mismanaging session cookies that affected some users in some circumstances. The fix for those issues was first included in JRE 1.6.0_23. These fixes will carry forward and continue to be fixed in all future JRE releases on the JRE 6 and 7 codelines.  In other words, if you wish to avoid the mismanaged session cookie issue, you should apply any release after JRE 1.6.0_22 on the JRE 6 codeline, and JRE 7u10 and later JRE 7 codeline updates. All JRE 6 and 7 releases are certified with EBS upon release Our standard policy is that all E-Business Suite customers can apply all JRE updates to end-user desktops from JRE 1.6.0_03 and later updates on the 1.6 codeline, and from JRE 7u10 and later updates on the JRE 7 codeline.  We test all new JRE 1.6 and JRE 7 releases in parallel with the JRE development process, so all new JRE 1.6 and 7 releases are considered certified with the E-Business Suite on the same day that they're released by our Java team.  You do not need to wait for a certification announcement before applying new JRE 1.6 or JRE 7 releases to your EBS users' desktops. Implications of Java 6 End of Public Updates for EBS Users The Support Roadmap for Oracle Java is published here: Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap The latest updates to that page (as of Sept. 19, 2012) state (emphasis added): Java SE 6 End of Public Updates Notice After February 2013, Oracle will no longer post updates of Java SE 6 to its public download sites. Existing Java SE 6 downloads already posted as of February 2013 will remain accessible in the Java Archive on Oracle Technology Network. Developers and end-users are encouraged to update to more recent Java SE versions that remain available for public download. For enterprise customers, who need continued access to critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for Java SE 6 or older versions, long term support is available through Oracle Java SE Support . What does this mean for Oracle E-Business Suite users? EBS users fall under the category of "enterprise users" above.  Java is an integral part of the Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack, so EBS users will continue to receive Java SE 6 updates after February 2013. In other words, nothing will change for EBS users after February 2013.  EBS users will continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for Java SE 6. These Java SE 6 updates will be made available to EBS users for the Extended Support periods documented in the Oracle Lifetime Support policy document for Oracle Applications (PDF): EBS 11i Extended Support ends November 2013 EBS 12.0 Extended Support ends January 2015 EBS 12.1 Extended Support ends December 2018 Will EBS users be forced to upgrade to JRE 7 for Windows desktop clients? No. This upgrade is highly recommended but currently remains optional. JRE 6 will be available to Windows users to run with EBS for the duration of your respective EBS Extended Support period.  Updates will be delivered via My Oracle Support, where you can continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for JRE 6 desktop clients.  Coexistence of JRE 6 and JRE 7 on Windows desktops The upgrade to JRE 7 is highly recommended for EBS users, but some users may need to run both JRE 6 and 7 on their Windows desktops for reasons unrelated to the E-Business Suite. Most EBS configurations with IE and Firefox use non-static versioning by default. JRE 7 will be invoked instead of JRE 6 if both are installed on a Windows desktop. For more details, see "Appendix B: Static vs. Non-static Versioning and Set Up Options" in Notes 290801.1 and 393931.1. Applying Updates to JRE 6 and JRE 7 to Windows desktops Auto-update will keep JRE 7 up-to-date for Windows users with JRE 7 installed. Auto-update will only keep JRE 7 up-to-date for Windows users with both JRE 6 and 7 installed.  JRE 6 users are strongly encouraged to apply the latest Critical Patch Updates as soon as possible after each release. The Jave SE CPUs will be available via My Oracle Support.  EBS users can find more information about JRE 6 and 7 updates here: Information Center: Installation & Configuration for Oracle Java SE (Note 1412103.2) The dates for future Java SE CPUs can be found on the Critical Patch Updates, Security Alerts and Third Party Bulletin.  An RSS feed is available on that site for those who would like to be kept up-to-date. What will Mac users need? Oracle will provide updates to JRE 7 for Mac OS X users. EBS users running Macs will need to upgrade to JRE 7 to receive JRE updates. The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite with JRE 7 for Mac-based desktop clients accessing EBS Forms-based content is underway. Mac users waiting for that certification may find this article useful: How to Reenable Apple Java 6 Plug-in for Mac EBS Users Will EBS users be forced to upgrade to JDK 7 for EBS application tier servers? No. This upgrade will be highly recommended but will be optional for EBS application tier servers running on Windows, Linux, and Solaris.  You can choose to remain on JDK 6 for the duration of your respective EBS Extended Support period.  If you remain on JDK 6, you will continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for JDK 6. The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite with JDK 7 for EBS application tier servers on Windows, Linux, and Solaris as well as other platforms such as IBM AIX and HP-UX is planned.  Customers running platforms other than Windows, Linux, and Solaris should refer to their Java vendors's sites for more information about their support policies. • Using JDialog with Tabbed Pane to draw different pictures [migrated]

    - by Bryam Ulloa
I am using NetBeans, and I have a class that extends to JDialog, inside that Dialog box I have created a Tabbed Pane. The Tabbed Pane contains 6 different tabs, with 6 different panels of course. What I want to do is when I click on the different tabs, a diagram is supposed to be drawn with the paint method. My question is how can I draw on the different panels with just one paint method in another class being called from the Dialog class? Here is my code for the Dialog class: package GUI; public class NewJDialog extends javax.swing.JDialog{ /** * Creates new form NewJDialog */ public NewJDialog(java.awt.Frame parent, boolean modal) { super(parent, modal); initComponents(); } /** * This method is called from within the constructor to initialize the form. * WARNING: Do NOT modify this code. The content of this method is always * regenerated by the Form Editor. */ @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") // <editor-fold defaultstate="collapsed" desc="Generated Code"> private void initComponents() { jTabbedPane1 = new javax.swing.JTabbedPane(); jPanel1 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel2 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel3 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel4 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel5 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel6 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jPanel7 = new javax.swing.JPanel(); jLabel1 = new javax.swing.JLabel(); jLabel2 = new javax.swing.JLabel(); setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.WindowConstants.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE); javax.swing.GroupLayout jPanel1Layout = new javax.swing.GroupLayout(jPanel1); jPanel1.setLayout(jPanel1Layout); jPanel1Layout.setHorizontalGroup( jPanel1Layout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGap(0, 466, Short.MAX_VALUE) ); jPanel1Layout.setVerticalGroup( jPanel1Layout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGap(0, 242, Short.MAX_VALUE) ); private int height = 5; private int y = 5; private int x = 0; private int x1 = 0; public Graphics Draw(Graphics g, int[] pistas) { //Im not sure if this is the correct way to do it //The diagram gets drawn according to values from an array //The array is not always the same thats why I used the different Panels for (int i = 0; i < pistas.length; i++) { x = pistas[i]; x1 = pistas[i + 1]; g.drawOval(x, y, width, height); g.drawString(Integer.toString(x), x, y); g.drawLine(x, y, x1, y); } return g; } } I hope you guys understand what I am trying to do with my program.
