  • X-Domain Cookies in iFrames

    Hi Guys, I have a domain A.com which is my website. I want to allow the user to login and then I have embedded an iframe into domain B.com which attempts to grab the cookie from A.com to allow the user to be continued to be signed in. I can't seem to get this working in IE ? A new session gets set instead and the cookie is never retrieved. I have set a P3P policy ? Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

  • Including C header file with lots of global variables

    I have an include file with 100+ global variables. It's being used in a library, but some programs that I'm linking the lib to also need to access the globals. The way it was built: // In one library .c file #define Extern // In the programs that use the globals #define Extern extern // In the .h file Extern int a,b,c; I had a hard time understanding why the original programmer did that so I removed that define Extern stuff. Now I think I understand the thing about TU with the help of stackoverflow: 1, 2, 3. Now I understand that I should define the global variables in one .c file in the library and use extern in the .h file. The problem is that I don't want to duplicate code. Should I go back to that #define Extern voodoo?

  • I'm confused, how do I control cache so my clients can see website edits.

    I host about 10 websites for clients. Every so often a client will ask for an update to their website. It may be a simple image change, new PDF or a simple text change. I make the change and then send them a link to the web page with the update. About an hour later I will get an email back from the client telling me they still see the old page. I will then explaining to them how to empty their browsers cache. What I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way I can tell their browser that I made an update to the website and that it should reload the page and update the cache. I thought about trying a meta tag but I read that they are not very reliable. Also I would still like the page to cache I just want to be able to clear it when I make an update. Is this possible? I'm an advanced front end web developer (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and know some PHP. Cache is just one of those things I don't really understand that well.

    I have an url /reportcsv that generates a plain text csv with Content-type: text/csv and Content-disposition: attachment; filename=report.csv. I want trigger this csv to be downloaded using Javascript. I'm considering two methods: 1) Setting location.href = /reportcsv 2) Setting an iframe url to /reportcsv Both seem to work in Safari. I was wondering if there is any difference between them, or if one is recommended over the other. My main requirement is that I don't want the user to leave the current page.

    I visit my ASHX file, and it outputs a PDF perfectly. If I visit the very same ASHX with a different query string (I append DateTime.Now.Ticks to the end each visit), and I get this error: Server cannot append hader after HTTP headers have been sent. You are seeing the entire interaction with the Response object. I've tried to use r.Flush(); and r.End(); I've also tried not sending them if they are already there, but this causes other issues.

What I'm trying to do is make a log out script (the log in cookie setting works...so odd.     Hey all, looking to see if theres a way to easily include external html file inside the body to repeat on every page, for instance: a navigator or something. Basically if i have to add a menu item or something, i have to go and paste all the code into each page.     Hi, I always see the th tag only used in the first row of the table. Is there some specific reason why it can't be used to create 'left' headers along the leftmost column. Is this bad form, or is this ok. Basically, a table with headings on the top row and the leftmost column, with the very top left square being empty. e.g. <table> <tr> <th/> <!--empty--> <th>Top 1</th> <th>Top 2</th></tr> <tr> <th>LeftHeader?</th> <td>data1</td> <td>data2</td></tr> </table>
