  • Having issues with div layouts

    new here and I'm crossing fingers for help. I'm working on http://www.catgriz.com On the frontpage I have a slideshow that stacks all of the information on top of itself when you initially visit the page. But after a simple browser refresh, it displays correctly. I was hoping someone could look at it and point me in the right direction of what I've done wrong. I'm using Joomla with a Yootheme. The contenxt: "How do I blablablabal in a webpage so it doesn't have to do a page refresh" My answer: "Use JavaScript + Ajax" EDIT Ok, it is, so... how should I say it? "Use AJAX"? or "Use Javascript"?

    Hello, i own a website where users can vote/rate things and i want to improve the poor inputbox (from 1 to 10) to improve visual rendering. I was thinking of a bar, which have 10 ' | ' you can move the cursor from one to ten (it doesn't have to be AJAX because the rating is only added at the end of the form) I'm sure you already seend this king of thing but i actually can't find any plugin of it. When i refresh the page, the form doesn't disappear, but when i click a link with a query string (thisPage.php?lang=fr...), the form disappears. I know i m asking the form only if the button is pressed, but how can i ignore the query string.

    I'm trying to convert a game I made (WindowsFormApplication) to an ASP Page. My Problem is that I have a lot "private" variables in my WindowFormApplication and those variables are important for the game. But when after I Declare all my variables (in my Page_Load), they turn null no matter what I do(click a button, refresh the page). Is there anyway to save my variables between buttons (other than Session, because I'd have to create like 6 more sessions)

The query is definitely returning the correct data, as I have double checked in the server engine itself. The criteria is that the page just has to be there, as an extra window on the monitor so the user can see the information get updated real time. I'm using the Ajax in jQuery with Rails, and my question is - how long will the .erb page keep Ajax open? Will there be a point where I have to refresh the page or re-initialize?     When you refresh/reload a page or use the back button, Firefox is kind enough to repopulate your inputs with what was entered before you navigated away. Though this is a nice feature it does not trigger my jquery validation and the unsaved changes warning I add to my pages. Is there a way to either disable this feature in Firefox (without renaming every control every time) or capture the firefox events?

    On my registration form i want to show a modal (of twitter-bootstrap) when the user has a successfull signup to tell him to check his email so i put "remote: true" on my form and render a .js.erb wich shows the modal, on my controller. BUT, in case of inputs errors i need to render the page as html to refresh de form showing those errors. Can I call the controller from the remote form as JS but render as html? (or any other idea to do what i want) Thanks!
