• Dolphin Smalltalk - adding method

  Hi, I am trying to create a custom class in Dolphin Smalltalk. When I open the Workspace, type in and evaluate the code: Object subclass: #Sudoku instanceVariableNames: 'board' classVariableNames: '' poolDictionaries: '' category: 'JiPP SudokuSolver'. everything works fine and the class is created and visible from Class Browser. The problem is, I want to add custom member method to this class, but without using Class Browser. Is it possible from the Workspace? I want to have one file with all the source code, so I don't have to worry about saving entire image.

  Hi Guys, I have a requirement from a client with regards to user profile properties. The requirement is as follows: We would like to setup custom user profile properties such that these values are editable by individuals via their my site. When a user edits this user profile property value, it should not be immediately visible to other users that happen to go to the individual's my site, but rather go through an approval workflow. If the value submitted is approved the user profile property value is updated. As far as I know this is not possible. I do have a work around for this but I want to ensure that I haven't missed anything before going down this path. Thanks in Advance

  Hi, I am trying to use my .net image editor user control as an activeX object in a web form.   Having a mental block today, need a hand verifying my logic isn't fubar'ed. Ideally I'd like to use the using block to dispose of the filestream when I'm done, however I am unsure about the synergy between using and try/catch. This is how i'd like to implement the above: try { using(FileStream fs = File.Open("Foo.txt", FileMode.Open)) { /// Do Stuff } } catch(Exception) { /// Handle Stuff } However, I'm worried that a premature exit (via thrown exception) from within the using block may not allow the using block to complete execution and clean up it's object. Am I just paranoid, or will this actually work the way I intend it to?

• UIComponent extended class isn't showing UIComponent extended class

  I have 1 class (that is extending a UIcomponent) that is representing a component. In that component I create different instances of another class that is also a UIComponent but this class doesn't show up in de first class. I see that it is running and that it has the correct hights but I got the feeling that it doesn't show up with this hights. If I trace I see the width and height is 200 X 200 but there is still nothing visible in my component I bet there is a simple solution for this problem?

• Python-MySQLdb problem: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

  As part of trying out django CMS (http://www.django-cms.org/), I'm struggling with getting Python-MySQLdb to work (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/MySQL-python/). I have installed Django CMS and all of its dependencies (Python 2.5, Django, django-south, MySQL server) I'm trying out the example code within Django CMS code with MySQL as chosen database type When I execute python manage.py syncdb, the following error occurs: django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: Error loading MySQLdb module: /root/.python-eggs/MySQL_python-1.2.3c1-py2.5-linux-i686.egg-tmp/_mysql.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 I have been able to trace the problem specifically to python-mySQLdb (as also visible in the stack trace). Other than that, I am completely puzzled. I don't have a clue what ELFCLASS32 means, or what ELF class is anyway. I suspect that this error could have something to do with the fact that I am running 64-bit version of Debian 5 (on a VPS). Any good ideas how to troubleshoot?

• On Android, click to expand list -and- click on a button?

  I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView). In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth. I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?

• Inform Activity from a BroadcastReceiver ONLY if it is in the foreground

  Hi there! Maybe it's easy, but I couldn't really figure this out right so far... I got a BroadcastReceiver waiting to get triggered by the AlarmMangager - this works fine. Now: because the event, if it occurs, needs to refresh some elements on screen of the main Activity, I would like to send an Intent from that background BroadcastReceiver to my Activity - but only if it is currently in the foreground, aka active. If it is not running or not visible, I don't care - and the last thing I want to do is start the Activity by my intent! I handle repainting of the views in my onResume method, so I don't care at all. Any hints on how to do that? Thanks! EDIT: my BroadcastReceiver is waiting for alarms that must be notified to the user. So, it must be there and declared in the manifest. The problem is: it will have to decide whether the mentioned Activity is currently up in front or not.

  Hi, I have the following scenario Web server A: public on the internet, IIRF (current version) installed Web server B: on the intranet, visible to A, my APS.NET web app is installed on, name is pgdbtest3 I configure IIRF so that any request targetting directory /MMS/ on server A is redirected to the corresponding one http://pgdbtest3/MMS/. The ini file look like: StatusUrl /iirfStatus RemoteOk RedirectRule ^/MMS$ /MMS/ [I] ProxyPass ^/MMS/(.*)$ http://pgdbtest3/MMS/$1 [I] It is working fine except that any post back causes an error (404 is returned). I have tried many solutions including the removal of the action attribute from the form but with no luck. Please help!

• Determine the width of the vertical scroll bar in a ScrollViewer

  I'm using a ScrollViewer to display an Image. The Image has a ScaleTransform set as one of it's LayoutTransforms. I've got it setup to fit the width of the image into the ActualSize of the ScrollViewer. My problem is that if the image height requires the vertical scrollbar to be present (I have it set to Auto) then my image is scaled just a little bit to much. I know how to determine if the scrollbar would be present and how to get the correct scale, but I cannot figure out how to determine what the actual width of the scrollbar is. I guess I could just guess at it, but I'd like something that would work if I later add styles to my application that would result in the scrollbars being a different size. Additionally I'm also doing Fit to Height and would need to get the Height of the horizontal scrollbar when it would be visible (I'm assuming that the answer to getting the width of the vertical scrollbar would make getting the height of the horizontal scrollbar obvious).

The picker view should look something like this: The application which has customized the pickerView similarly is: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/convert-the-unit-calculator/id325758140?mt=8 I have tried removing the default pickerView selection bar by resetting the property showsSelectionIndicator of UIImagePicker and adding a overlay view. But the problem is, the overlay view should be transparent so that the wheel behind it is visible. But the other application somehow does it even though the selection bar is not transparent. • UITableView section header and section footer not updating (redraw problem)

  I have a UITableView grouped style with custom header and footer view. Inside the footer I put a UILabel and a UIButton. Clicking on the button hides or show some rows, updates the UILabel in the footer view and finally resizes footer view. Basically everything is working fine. BUT the text ion the label is not updated on the screen. It is updated in the UILabel text property, but only if I scroll the section footer out of the visible area and scroll it back, it is updated. So it's a typical redraw problem here of the UITableView. I tried every method to force update like needsLayout etc. Nothing helped. I have seen some related questions but with some different behaviour and no solution. Any help/ideas? Thanks, Gerd

• Tomcat cookies not working via my ProxyPass VirtualHost

  Hi there. I'm having some issues with getting cookies to work when using a ProxyPass to redirect traffic on port 80 to a web-application hosted via Tomcat. My motivation for enabling cookies is to get rid of the "jsessionid=" parameter that is appended to the URLs. I've enabled cookies in my context.xml in META-INF/ for my web application. When I access the webapplication via http://url:8080/webapp it works as expected, the jsessionid parameter is not visible in the URL, instead it's stored in a cookie. When accessing my website via an apache2 virtualhost the cookies doesn't seem to work because now "jsessionid" is being appended to the URLs. How can I solve this issue? • CSS Position Absolute constant top margin

  This question sounds simple but I'm an expert with CSS and I'm thinking it's impossible (a RARE thing). Is it possible to use CSS to give a a page a constant top margin if that div has no background (e.g. you can see through it)? Basically, I want the background image to be visible in the top 100px of a site, so that even when scrolling down, that top-margin remains in place. • (Java) JPopupMenu won't close if I click outside of it

  Hi all, I have created a Java Swing app that has no visible main window but which is controlled through its tray icon by right-clicking. I am using a JPopupMenu for this, but when I click outside of the popup menu (e.g. on another application's window or the desktop) the JPopupMenu does not disappear which is not the expected behaviour. Originally I was using a popupMenu which did work as expected but this did not allow me to have icons in the menu. How can I get it to close when I click elsewhere, as expected? Thanks!

• Flex 3.5 Accordion and TabNavigator selectedIndex Bug

  I'm using Flex 3.5 with Adobe Flex Builder 3. I have found that if you very rapidly click between multiple headers of an accordion component or the tabs of TabNavigator, these components will begin to exhibit odd, unexpected behavior. Once this behavior has been evoked, even trying to set the selectedIndex programmatically does not end in the desired result. Specifically, if set the selectedIndex to zero (or click on the first tab/header) it might temporarily hop to that index but then will finish on a different index. Has anyone else experienced this behavior and do you know of a patch that can prevent the user from getting in a situation where the tab/header they click on is not the one made visible?

  Hello, I have a Page.xaml file and a AddNewProject.xaml. In the Page.xaml file I have a ProjectDetailsDataGrid and a button to add a new Project. When I click on the Add New Project button the AddNewProject.xaml file becomes visible for the user to enter new project information. I am having a problem trying to refresh the ProjectDetailsDataGrid (on the Page.xaml page) to display the new info. entered from the AddNewProject.xaml page. Is there anyway to accomplish refreshing a datagrid between two seperate xaml files? Thank you for your help.

  I have created a non-form c# program that uses the NotifyIcon class. The text "(Click to Activate)" shows up when I hover the mouse. So I am getting some events handled.   Hi, I need to know if a JPanel`s bacground can be set to Transparent? My frame is has two Jpanels Image Panel and Feature Panel, Feature Panel is overlapping Image Panel, the Image Panel is working as a background and it is loading image from a remote Url, now I want to draw shaps on Feature Panel , but now Image Panel cannot be seen due to Feature Panel's background color. I need to make Feature Panel background transparent while still drawing its shapes and i want Image Panel to be visible since it is doing tiling and cache function of images. I need to seperate the image drawing and shape drawing thats why I`m using two jPanels! is there anyway the overlapping Jpanel have a transparent background? thanks

• Best practice to display POI in iPhone's MapKit?

  Assuming I have a database of POI with their respective coordinates (longitude & latitude). What would be the "standard" way to display the POI as annotations around the user's current location? To elaborate: Given a zoom level, I guess I have to search through the database for all POI whose distance to the current location < a certain threshold, then create annotations for them. Or is there any smarter way? If the user zooms in/out, moves the map... I will need to redo the whole thing again? It seems that MapKit has a mechanism to cache/reuse annotations. Should I create a lot of them right away and let MapKit decides what to render when the visible region changes? I guess this would make the transition smoother, but also consumes more memory. What is your experience with this? Thanks.

• ASP.NET - Missing #includes cause compilation errors: Failed to map the path '...'

  I have an ASP.NET application which features some server-side includes. For example: <!--#include virtual="/scripts.inc" --> These files are not present in my ASP.NET website project because my website starts in a virtual directory: /path-to-my-application When I choose Build Web Site, I get this error: Failed to map the path '/scripts.inc' Visual Studio cannot resolve these include files that are defined at the root directory level. They are not visible in the website project. Aside from manually commenting out the #include references, is there any way I can get the website to build? Can I force Visual Studio to ignore those errors and compile the site? Once the website is pushed out to IIS, there is no problem, because all the #include files are in place. NOTE - Web Controls are not an option for this application. Please assume #include files are a requirement. Also, I cannot move the include files since they are used by other applications.
