• Fields and Properties in Microsoft Word 2007

  I have added some advanced properties into my Microsoft Word 2007 document. These were created by doing the following: Click the Office button - Prepare - Properties. Under the Document Properties drop-down menu, select Advanced Properties. In the Custom tab, add properties as needed. My question is how do you insert these custom properties into the Word document so that they are in text form and gets updated when you update the properties in that one spot? Thank you!

  New functionality has been released for Sales and Procurement Contracts in a new patch: Contracts 12.1.3++: Patch 13877401: 12.1.3 Rollup for Oracle Contracts Core. The new functionality includes: APIs for Import of Contract Templates, Contract Expert rules, Questions and Constants: The three APIs are as follows: API for Templates, API for Rules, and API for Questions and Constants. These can be used to both create entities and update existing templates and rules. The APIs will display error and warning messages which can be processed and analyzed by the customer. Ability to Apply Multiple Templates to a Sourcing, Procurement or Sales Document: The buyer can select and add multiple templates to a quote,sales agreement document, sourcing or purchasing odcument.  All the clauses and deliverables from the new templates are synchronized with the document. The Contract Expert rules are from the original template. The buyer can also view the list of templates that are added to any sales or procurement document. Ability to Define Multi-Row Variables: You can create user defined manual variables that are tables containing one row per line or multiple rows. Contract Preview will print the variable values according to the layout defined for the variable. These variables are not available for Contract Expert Rules and Supplier. Enhancement to Suggested Sections for Clauses by Contract Expert: You can associate multiple default sections with a clause. A clause is associated with multiple values of any system variable and for each such value a section name is associated in Contracts Terms Library. When Contract Expert is run in the contract authoring flow, the clause is automatically placed in the associated section name. Plus many more new features.   Hallo, i've got some code that imports documents into a SharePoint (WSS 3.0 SP1) document-library. That code works most of the time without any problems, but sometimes the document is not imported into the document-library and i get this nasty exception instead. • E-mail message of failed lock not identifying affected Lotus Notes documents

  I have a user who was sent several messages to his Outlook account with the following subject: Changes made to the database xxxx have NOT been incorporated into the database. There was a conflict detected. Your changes may be found in body of this message. A document link to the original document is attached to the end of the message. Unfortunately, besides the link, the body of the email is blank and the link URL is of this form: Notes:///482567CC001B4104. The link seems to be making reference to the database replica ID and clicking on the link opens up the database and not directly to the affected document. I'm finding that the message is not very useful in terms of identifying the affected document. Can anyone advise me on the ways to identify the affected documents or configure the system so that it would identify/link the affected documents?

• Why is Word 2007 not allowing me to select and edit text?

  I have just installed Office 2007 for a user. Word is acting strangely. If I open a document. The cursor just stays at the top left of the document and I can not place it anywhere else. I cannot select other text. I cannot write additional text. If I simply open up Word and start a new document I am allowed to type like normal. If I were to save and close this document and reopen it. I would not be able to input anything. Seems like I am stuck in some wrong input mode? I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Any ideas?

• Using a pre-existing function for a new row

  I have an Excel document that contains X columns and N number of rows. The very last column of a row performs a SUM of the first X-1 columns. The problem I have is, the user of this Excel document progressively adds rows to the document, and because of this, the function does not exist yet in the last column for new rows. I need a way to have this function exist in new rows dynamically (the user is not Excel-savvy and doesn't have the ability to just drag the function down a row).

  yesterday I did a repair install, because Windows froze on welcome screen after resizing its partition on a dual boot system. corresponding question Everything worked fine so far, but now I am facing another challenge: The Windows drive letter changed from G: to C:, so that most programs, including drivers, firewall and virus scanner do not work anymore. I tried to reinstall the virus scanner, but the uninstaller said, that drive G: is not available. What to do now, to get all programs running again? Is it possible, to rename C: to G: or will that mess up my system?

  Hi, I'm using a rather complex structure with multiple ssi-includes, set- and echo-commands. The first document writes a lot of set-commands, includes another document which then again includes a third document. On the last included document the variable values are printed using the echo-command. I noticed that with an increasing number of variables the probability for a segmentation fault to happen rises. Did anyone experience something similar? How do I go about debugging such a problem? I'm using IBM_HTTP_Server/2.0.47.1-PK65782 Apache/2.0.47

• HP Cue-Scanning Flow component freezes

  I am trying to scan with an HP network scanner (actually E6500 all-in-one). Whenever I try to scan, it starts up a flash screen with HP Scanning written all over it, which proceeds to do nothing. Digging in, I found that the process that gets stuck is hpqkygrp.exe, aka "HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component". This happened when I tried scanning from onenote or from the HP Solution Center. However, it seems that scanning from Windows' Fax and Scan utility works fine. As a (probably related) side-note, scanning directly from the scanner (using the buttons on its panel) doesn't work either. How can I keep this process from getting stuck?

• What is the best way to run ClamAV on Windows Server 2008 R2

  I'm hosting a Wordpress-site on Windows Server 2008 RS and want to scan all files that are uploaded by users for viruses using this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/upload-scanner/. I'm on a really tight budget (no profit) so ClamAV seem like a good choice. What is the best way to run ClamAV under these circumstances? I'm concidering the following options: Just running the raw windows build from http://sourceforge.net/projects/clamav/ an setup definition updates with task scheduler. Any way to automate updates of the scanner (binaries)? Using a "distro" like ClamWin or Immunet (advertised on clamav.net). Any suggestions are welcome.

• Stripping Non-Text from a Scanned, OCRd PDF

  I have a PDF created from a scanned document. OCR was used to recognize text. In Acrobat, if I select text, and click 'copy with formatting', I can paste the formatted text into Word, so it seems that fonts and colors are also embedded in the document in addition to just plain text and possibly the size. Is there any way to use this information to create a PDF that just contains the formatted OCRd text, without the scanned image. Currently, my document only shows the scanned image, and the text is on an invisible layer. I would like to create a PDF document that removes the image that was scanned, and displays the formatted text that is currently hidden. The following post has a section on "How can we make the invisible text visible?" PDF has an extra blank in all words after running through Ghostscript However, doing this does not show the correct text formatting (that is retained when pasting in Word), and I also would like to remove the scanned image so that the final PDF just contains formatted (color, font, size) vector fonts, and no images.

• How to create reusable fields in Word

  I would like to create reusable fields that I can type in, then reuse those fields throughout the document without having to retype them. As an example, I have a cover sheet that contains "Title", "Document ID", "Version Number", and "Published Date". I used the MACROBUTTON trick to create a field that someone can just click on and type, but I don't see how I can re-use what is typed in other parts of the document (such as putting the Document title in the header). I've found something called "fill-in" fields, which don't seem to be what i'm looking for, and "ASK" fields, but that creates a dialog that you have to enter the information into. I'm trying to create a generic template for my documentation needs. Can anyone suggest a method to do what I am looking for?

  I'm looking at an xml document that gets passed to a COM object (yes, I said the "C" word) to save a new record.  You can tell by the "new|" at the top of the file before the xml declaration.  If we were saving, there would be "edit|" at the top.  Couldn't you just have a root element with something like: <myRootElement mode="new"> Ah, here's why that won't work... There's no single root element but that's ok because next we find that this document is actually several documents.  <?xml version="1.0"?> appears several times.  The final document opens with <myElementStart> and closes with <myElementEnd> so it's not even well-formed. This isn't a style thing.  This is broken.  I mean, basic well-formed XML only has two rules; three if you count the xml declaration but it works as a document for DTO purposes without it. One root element. Close all elements with a matching tag. As a result, both ends of this conversation need to speak the same dialect of broken XML in order to communicate.  To join the conversation, you must also learn pidgin XML. This happens for ALL existing documents, and doesn't happen for new documents. I can't find any option in the configuration that would control this behavior. I would like to restore the original/default behavior where documents are opening with Track Changes off, and in "Final showing markup" display. Steps to Reproduce Open Word 2007. Create a new document. Verify that track changes is off. Save the document and close Word. Open the document (either directly or through Word). Track changes is now on. Any ideas?

• Can I cycle through instances of a style selected via the MS Word styles pane?

  Often when I have many co-authors on a MS Word document I find that some of them don't use the styles I've defined for the document, but have achieved similar formatting manually. This results in many styles listed as "in use", each with perhaps only a handful of instances. Word will highlight these instances for me, but then find myself browsing the entire document to check whether they need correcting or are special cases. This can be a particular pain for a long document and when these style fragments occur in the white space between words or paragraphs. Is there a way to cycle through the highlighted instances of a particular style rather than having to hunt for them visually?

  Got a user that everyone once in awhile (maybe once every 2 weeks or so) will do a "save as" in their Word 2007 and the created, saved document will be blank. But most of the time, "save as" works fine. Already re-installed the whole Office Suite. It's fine when he does email attachments. This is not related to email. • Prevent machine in a LAN from receiving a remote shutdown

  I'm probably just overreacting, but I recently came across a LAN-scanner that showed me the option "remote shutdown", for all found computers on the scanned network. Now, how exactly does this work? If I send such a message, will the shutdown happen no matter what, or is it required to have the password/user-name of the user of that other computer. Mostly I'm wondering: can this be done to me and how do I prevent it? EDIT: what's more, I had the scanner check for shares. The result being this: Double clicking the links opens them in explorer, basically meaning my entire C and F drive(only 2 HD's I have) are completely exposed to anyone in my LAN. Or can I open these because it's my own machine?

• Shortcut to checkout Sharepoint documents?

  I find myself in a lot of situations where I need to download the latest version of a document from sharepoint, or checkout a sharepoint document, make a small change, and then check the document back in. I find the website interface to be quite clunky for stuff like this, largely because I use firefox (bad with sharepoint) and keyboard launchers (instead of mousing around.) Is there anyway to make a shortcut I can just run to checkout a specific sharepoint document without going through the web browser? Am I better off using Colligo Contributor or similar software to accomplish this? Can anyone recommend any software Sharepoint clients?

• keyPressed is not working after adding ActionListener to JButton

  I have a serious problem while trying to build a menu for my game. I've added two JButton to a main JPanel and added an ActionListener for each of them. The main JPanel also contains the game JPanel which have the keyPressed method inside keyController. That's how it looks - Main -       JPanel -         JButton, JButton,         JPanel which contains the game and keyPressed function inside KeyController class which worked fine before I added the ActionListener for JButton. For some reason after I added an ActionListener for each of the button, the game JPanel is not getting any keyPreseed events nor KeyRealesed. Does anyone know the solution for my situation? • PDF form (not) saving

  Hi, I've created a form in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. When empy, I want to use it as a template which the user opens, fills in, and saves as a copy to preserve the blank state of the template. Here's the trick : I found both ways to make the document read only - the user can't save the form value, only print them make the document writeable, but in this case the document acting as a template can be modified too. Any ideas? Thanks.
