    Hi I've been testing nuSoap with codeIgniter (PHP Framework) but seems nuSoap isn't prepared to work with latest php 5.3, even if I download a patched nusoap version for php 5.3 I have the following code: require_once(APPPATH.'libraries/NuSOAP/lib/nusoap'.EXT); //includes nusoap $n_params = array('CityName' => 'San Juan', 'CountryName' => 'Argentina'); $client = new nusoap_client('http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx?WSDL'); $client->setHTTPProxy("10.2.0.1",6588,"",""); $result = $client->call('GetWeather', $n_params); Can any1 help me to convert these functions into php soap functions?   • Language Design: Combining Gotos and Functions

    I'm designing and currently rethinking a low-level interpreted programming language with similarities to assembler. I very soon came across the functions/loops/gotos decision problem and thought that while loops like while and for would be too high-level and unfitting, gotos would be too low level, unmaintainable and generally evil again. Functions like you know them from most languages that have return values and arguments aren't fitting in the language's concept either. So I tried to figure out something between a function and a goto which is capable of Recursion Efficient loops After some thinking I came up with the idea of subroutines: They have a beginning and an end like a function They have a name but no arguments like a goto You can go into one with jump and go out of it again before its end with return (doesn't give back any result, only stops the subroutine) Handled just like normal code - Global scope like goto So I wanted to know: Is the idea above good? What are the (dis)advantages? Would there be a better combination of function and goto or even a completely new idea?

  • JAXB: @XmlTransient on third-party or external super class

    Hi, I need some help regarding the following issue with JAXB 2.1. Sample: I've created a SpecialPerson class that extends a abstract class Person. Now I want to transform my object structure into a XML schema using JAXB. Thereby I don't want the Person XML type to appear in my XML schema to keep the schema simple. Instead I want the fields of the Person class to appear in the SpecialPerson XML type. Normally I would add the annotation @XmlTransient on class level into the Person code. The problem is that Person is a third-party class and I have no possibility to add @XmlTransient here. How can I tell JAXB that it should ignore the Person class without annotating the class. Is it possible to configure this externally somehow? Have you had the same problem before? Any ideas what the best solution for this problem would be?

  • SQL server queries are really slow only on first run

    Somewhat strange problem... when I start my .NET app for the first time after rebooting my machine, the SQL Server queries are really slow... when I pause the debugger, I notice that it's hanging on getting the response from the query. This only happens when connecting to a remote SQL server (2008)... if I connect to one on my local machine, it's fine. Also, if I restart the app, it works fast, even off the remote SQL server, and subsequent runs are also fine. The only problem is when I connect to a remote SQL server for the first time after rebooting my machine. What's more, I have even noticed this same exact behavior with a 3rd party app (also .NET) that also connects to a remote SQL server. Another piece of info... this has only started hapenning since I upgraded my machine from XP to Win7 (64 bit). Also, other developers on my team who upgraded to Win7 are seeing the same behavior (both with the app we're developing and the 3rd party .NET app).   • C++ wrapper for posix and linux specific functions

    Hi Do you know about any good library wrapping posix and linux functions and structures ( eg. sockets or file descriptors ) into C++ classes? For example I'm thinking about a base FileDescriptor class and some inheriting classes ( unix sockets etc ) with methods like write, read or even some syscalls ( sendfile, splice ) - all throwing exceptions instead of setting errno. Or some shared memory class etc. I can't seem to find anything like that and by now I consider writing it myself, as I often have to write a C++ app for linux and either use C functions ( painful error checking ), or wrap them myself every time.

  • Create a polynomial object from a number using change-class

    I have written a polynomial class along the lines described in SICP 2.5.3 (except using defclass). I would like to be able to seamlessly add and multiply polynomials and regular numbers but I can't make change-class accept a number. I tried to simplify the problem by changing class from an integer to a float: (change-class 4 'float) but that gave me the error: There is no applicable method for the generic function #<STANDARD-GENERIC-FUNCTION CHANGE-CLASS (7)> when called with arguments (4 #<BUILT-IN-CLASS FLOAT>). [Condition of type SIMPLE-ERROR] I get an error of the same form from (fyi): (change-class 4 'polynomial) I'm going to go ahead and implement a manual conversion but I would prefer to use the built-in clos facilities.

  • Address calling class [Java]

    Hello! [I am rather new to Java and Object Oriented programming] I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice. Thank you for your time! The code is as shown below: <a class="gkvSprite" href="#" id="123" onClick="showhide('1')">Click 1</a> <a class="gkvSprite" href="#" id="456" onClick="showhide('2')">Click 2</a> <a class="gkvSprite" href="#" id="789" onClick="showhide('3')">Click 3</a> Now when i click i need to add a class called "selected" for the one i select. I tried using setAttribute and add class of jquery as well but was not successful When i alert the document.getelementbyId(123) it gives out the link. Can someone kindly help me?     My client application is making calls to a service that returns a common "root" XML, but a different result node. The "root" XML contains possible error codes. Is it possible to use XStream in this scenario? Example: public class RootNode { ErrorInfo errorInfo; BaseResult result; ... } public class ErrorInfo { String message; ... } public abstract BaseResult { } public class SearchResult extends BaseResult { List<Object> searchResults; ... } public class AccountResult extends BaseResult { String name; ... } The XML coming back could be one of two formats: <root> <errorInfo><message>...</message></errorInfo> <result> <searchResults>...</searchResults> </result> </root> OR <root> <errorInfo><message>...</message></errorInfo> <result> <name>...</name> </result> </root> I have set up my XStream object as follows: XStream x = new XStream(); x.alias("root", Root.class); x.alias("errorInfo", ErrorInfo.class); x.alias("result", <SearchResult.class OR AccountResult.class depending on what I am expecting back>); Of course, when I run this I receive an error telling me XStream cannot instantiate the base class (BaseResult). For fun, I also converted the BaseResult into an interface but received a similar error. I've looked through XStream's documentation and it isn't clear to me how to handle a situation like the one I just described. Is it even possible to do using XStream? Thanks, -Dan

  • Refactoring a C# derived class with method dependancies

    Hi Folks, I want to get your opinion on this. I have a class which is derived from a base class. I don't have control over the code in the base class and it is critical to the system that I derive from it. In my class I inherite two methods that are critical to the system and are used in pretty much every function, many times. I intend to refactor this derived class and extract some classes from it - this won't be a problem. What I'm not sure about is, is it worth extracting class if I have to constantly make call backs to my main class to access the two methods (or public wrappers to the methods)??? Thanks

    I have two basic Cpp tasks, but still I have problems with them. First is to write functions mul1,div1,sub1,sum1, taking ints as arguments and returning ints. Then I need to create pointers ptrFun1 and ptrFun2 to functions mul1 and sum1, and print results of using them. Problem starts with defining those pointers.   • Reducing Code Repetition: Calling functions with slightly different signatures

    Suppose I have two functions which look like this: public static void myFunction1(int a, int b, int c, string d) { //dostuff someoneelsesfunction(c,d); //dostuff2 } public static void myFunction2(int a, int b, int c, Stream d) { //dostuff someoneelsesfunction(c,d); //dostuff2 } What would be a good way to avoid repeated dostuff? Ideas I've thought of, but don't like: I could make d an object and cast at runtype based on type, but this strikes me as not being ideal; it removes a type check which was previously happening at compile time. I could also write a private helper class that takes an object and write both signatures as public functions. I could replace dostuff and dostuff2 with delegates or function calls or something.

    I have an abstract Java class MyAbstractClass with a private method. There is a concrete implementation MyConcreteClass. public class MyAbstractClass { private void somePrivateMethod(); } public class MyConcreteClass extends MyAbstractClass { // implementation details } In my groovy test class I have class MyAbstractClassTest { void myTestMethod() { MyAbstractClass mac = new MyConcreteClass() mac.somePrivateMethod() } } I get an error that there is no such method signature for somePrivateMethod. I know groovy can call private methods but I'm guessing the problem is that the private method is in the super class, not MyConcreteClass. Is there a way to invoke a private method in the super class like this (other than using something like PrivateAccessor)? thanks Jeff

  • Compiled Linq Queries with Built-in SQL functions

    I have a query that I am executing in C# that is taking way too much time: string Query = "SELECT COUNT(HISTORYID) FROM HISTORY WHERE YEAR(CREATEDATE) = YEAR(GETDATE()) "; Query += "AND MONTH(CREATEDATE) = MONTH(GETDATE()) AND DAY(CREATEDATE) = DAY(GETDATE()) AND USERID = '" + EmployeeID + "' "; Query += "AND TYPE = '5'"; I then use SqlCommand Command = new SqlCommand(Query, Connection) and SqlDataReader Reader = Command.ExecuteReader() to read in the data. This is taking over a minute to execute from C#, but is much quicker in SSMS. I see from google searching you can do something with CompiledQuery, but I'm confused whether I can still use the built in SQL functions YEAR, MONTH, DAY, and GETDATE. If anyone can show me an example of how to create and call a compiled query using the built in functions, I will be very grateful! Thanks in advance.

    Hello I was wondering what the best practice is for unit testing abstract classes and classes that extend abstract classes. Should I test the abstract class by extending it and stubbing out the abstract methods and then test all the concrete methods? Then only test the methods I override and the abstract methods in the unit tests for objects that extend my abstract class. Should I have an abstract test case that can be used to test the methods of the abstract class and extend this class in my test case for objects that extend the abstract class? EDIT: My abstract class has some concrete methods. I would be interested to see what people are using. Thanks Paul

  • ActionScript: Type coercion problem with BlazeDS/AMF and class interfaces

    Hi, I've got a problem with type coercion in a Java/Hibernate/BlazeDS/Flex-Setup. First of all, my classes look like this: --- JAVA --- Interface I (Abstract) Class A implements I Class B extends A --- ActionScript --- Interface I Class A implements I Class B extends A I got RemoteClass-Meta-Tags in all ActionScript-Classes/Interfaces I, A and B. Package structure and Class/Interface names are exactly the same. Now here's the problem: My Java Service successfully retrieves objects of class B from my database via Hibernate. I got another class C which has a member property of interface type I, so it should be possible to assign an object of type B. But for some reason i get the following error message: TypeError: Error #1034: cannot convert Object@28b44a89 to package.name.I I checked the Java object type in the service and it is of type B and seems to be totally fine. Why can't the object of type B be assigned to a member variable of type I? This is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance.

  • How to generate Doctrine models/classes that extend a custom record class

    When I use Doctrine to generate classes from Yaml/db each Base class (which includes the table definition) extends the Doctrine_Record class. Since my app uses a master and (multiple) slave db servers I need to be able to make the Base classes extend my custom record class to force writes to go to the master db server (as described here). However if I change the base class manually I lose it again when I regenerate my classes from Yaml/db using Doctrine. I need to find a way of telling Doctrine to extend my own Base class, or find a different solution to a master/slave db setup using Doctrine. Example generated model: abstract class My_Base_User extends Doctrine_Record { However I need it to be automatically generated as: abstract class My_Base_User extends My_Record { I am using Doctrine 1.2.1 in a new Zend Framework 1.9.6 application if it makes any difference.
