  • node.js express app won't start (or debug) in Eclipse (Nodeclipse)

    When I do on my app.js Debug As > Node Application it says Launching STANDALONE_V8 has encountered a problem. Failed to connect to Standalone V8 VM connect timed out It should start an app. Doing so directly on my terminal works fine. When I start a debug session in my terminal and than try to debug it in Eclipse works fine too. So is there anything that has to be done in order to make it work in Eclipse?

    when i start tomcat from eclipse v3.3.1.1 it start but then if i try to access a web application from a browser it does not detect that the server is started...i need to stop the server from eclipse and then restart it by running start.bat and then the web app works fine...can any one tell me why is this happening ..?

  • Eclipse Doesn't List Classes Within Java Packages

    Usually when I'm typing a Java import statement in Eclipse or otherwise referencing a class via the packages that it is in, Eclipse shows a context menu with a list of all classes within that package. There have been several times, however, that it would only shows subpackages within a package and would not show classes within that package. Does anyone know why this is? It sounds like a setting/preference was changed, but I never knowingly changed anything related to this.

I've tried tweaking the amount of memory available to the jvm in eclipse.ini but haven't had much success. Any ideas?

    If I open two Java projects in Eclipse which depend on each other, I have to add dependencies between these two projects in the Build Path (Properties - Java build path). This works fine for one way, but why doesn't allow Eclipse to set the dependencies vice versa? The following error message occurs: A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'A' and A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'B' I know what's causing this error but i wonder why exactly this isn't allowed. Thanks.

    Has anyone expirience this error before: this happens when I hit CTRL + space , here is the error : For those who has tinyurl blocked: This compilation unit is not on the build path of the java project. This is a maven project, mvn eclipse:eclipse doesn't help I mean it compiles and runs just fine just something is wrong and I can't figure out what. I checkouted this project from SVN, it wasn't developed on my PC.

    I have a Makefile which runs fine from a bash shell, but fails to run from Eclipse. This is because the path I am setting in my .bash_profile is not getting used. What is the best way of making this happen? Is there somewhere else I could put the path, to make sure it is invoked in non-interactive shells (which is I assume how eclipse is running make)?

    Most often the cleanup rules (Preferences Java Code Style Clean Up) in Eclipse work perfectly and create nice-looking code. But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting. Is there a way to say to Eclipse "Don't touch this block of text! I have formatted it just the way I like, and you would make it just less readable"?

  • How do I set the Eclipse build path and class path from an Ant build file?

    Hey folks, There's a lot of discussion about Ant and Eclipse, but no previously answered seems to help me. Here's the deal: I am trying to build a Java program that compiles successfully with Ant from the command-line. (To confuse matters further, the program I am attempting to compile is Ant itself.) What I really want to do is to bring this project into Eclipse and have it compile in Eclipse such that the type bindings and variable bindings (nomenclature from Eclipse JDT) are correctly resolved. I need this because I need to run a static analysis on the code that is built on top of Eclipse JDT. The normal way I bring a Java project into Eclipse so that Eclipse will build it and resolve all the bindings is to just import the source directories into a Java project, and then tell it to use the src/main/ directory as a "source directory." Unfortunately, doing that with Ant causes the build to fail with numerous compile errors. It seems to me that the Ant build file is setting up the class path and build path correctly (possibly by excluding certain source files) and Eclipse does not have this information. Is there any way to take the class path & build path information embedded in an Ant build file, and given that information to Eclipse to put in its .project and .classpath files? I've tried, creating a new project from an existing build file (an option in the File menu) but this does not help. The project still has the same compile errors. Thanks, Nels

My SPF record initially was as prescribed by Google here. However, this guy claims Google is wrong and gives a fix. I've tried it both ways with no difference. However, the funny thing is that if you look at the error message, why does Google state that the recipient's domain stated that there is "No such user here" for my address? That makes no sense. Of course there is no user having my address at sonic.net. Also, I assume that I just discovered that I can't send mail to users at sonic.net by accident and that there are probably other domains I can't send e-mail to. So... anybody have any idea what's going on? And how I can get mail to users at sonic.net?
