  • How to make a loop over all keys of a HashMap?

    - by Roman
I try to do it in the following way: public String getValue(String service, String parameter) { String inputKey = service + ":" + parameter; Set keys = name2value.keySet(); Iterator itr = keys.iterator(); while (itr.hasNext()) { if (inputKey.equal(itr.next())) { return name2value.get(inputKey); } return ""; } } And I get an error message: cannot find symbol method.equal(java.lang.Object). I think it is because itr.next() is not considered as a string. How can I solve this problem? I tried to replace Set keys by Set<String> keys. It did not help.

  • android: having two listviews in two listactivities didn't work

    - by Yang
I guess my previous question wasn't clear enough (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2549585/android-failed-to-setcontentview-when-switching-to-listactivity), so I explain as follows. In my app I have two listactivities which uses two different listviews: public class Activity1 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview1); } public class Activity2 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview2); } } As required by android, listview must have an ID which is exactly "@android:id/list". If I set the listview in both listview1 and listview2 with the same ID, then they will end up using the same format of listview, which is not what I want. But if I set one of the IDs to be sth like "@+id/listview2", android gave me the error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is 'android.R.id.list' How do I handle this dilema?

  • Using only alphanumeric characters(a-z) inside toCharArray

    - by Aaron
Below you will find me using toCharArray in order to send a string to array. I then MOVE the value of the letter using a for statement... for(i = 0; i < letter.length; i++){ letter[i] += (shiftCode); System.out.print(letter[i]); } However, when I use shiftCode to move the value such as... a shifted by -1; I get a symbol @. Is there a way to send the string to shiftCode or tell shiftCode to ONLY use letters? I need it to see my text, like "aaron", and when I use the for statement iterate through a-z only and ignore all symbols and numbers. I THINK it is as simple as... letter=codeWord.toCharArray(a,z); But trying different forms of that and googling it didn't give me any results. Perhaps it has to do with regex or something? Below you will find a complete copy of my program; it works exactly how I want it to do; but it iterates through letters and symbols. I also tried finding instructions online for toCharArray but if there exists any arguments I can't locate them. My program... import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; /* * Aaron L. • How to get a non-XML output using JDOM XSLTransformer?

    - by Neil McF
Hello, I have an XML file which I'd like to parse into a non-XML (text) file based on a XLST file. The code in both seem correct, and it works when testing manually, but I'm having a problem doing this programatically. I'm using JDOM's XSLTransformer class to apply the XSLT to the XML and it returns it in the format of a JDOM Document. The problem here is that I can't seem to access anything in the Document as it is not a proper XML file and I get a "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Root element not set" error. Is there a better way within Java to obtain a non-XML file as a result of XSLT?

  • Memory in Eclipse

    - by user247866
I'm getting the java.lang.OutOfMemoryError exception in Eclipse. I know that Eclipse by default uses heap size of 256M. I'm trying to increase it but nothing happens. For example: eclipse -vmargs -Xmx16g -XX:PermSize=2g -XX:MaxPermSize=2g I also tried different settings, using only the -Xmx option, using different cases of g, G, m, M, different memory sizes, but nothing helps. Does not matter which params I specify, the heap exception is thrown at the same time, so I assume there's something I'm doing wrong that Eclipse ignores the -Xmx parameter. I'm using a 32GB RAM machine and trying to execute something very simple such as: double[][] a = new double[15000][15000]; It only works when I reduce the array size to something around 10000 on 10000. I'm working on Linux and using the top command I can see how much memory the Java process is consuming; it's less than 2%. Thanks!

  • Error preparing statement in Jasper

    - by Augusto
Hi, I'm trying to create a report with Jasper, but I keep getting this exception when running from my app (runs ok from IReport): net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error preparing statement for executing the report query Here's the query I'm using: SELECT produtos.`Descricao` AS produtos_Descricao, saidas.`Quantidade` AS saidas_Quantidade, saidas.`Data` AS saidas_Data, motivossaidas.`Motivo` AS motivossaidas_Motivo FROM `produtos` produtos INNER JOIN `saidas` saidas ON produtos.`Id` = saidas.`Id_Produto` INNER JOIN `motivossaidas` motivossaidas ON saidas.`Id_MotivoSaida` = motivossaidas.`id` WHERE motivossaidas.`motivo` = $P{MOTIVO} and the parameter definition: <parameter name="MOTIVO" class="java.lang.String"/> The exception occurs when I do JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(relatorio, parametros); where relatorio is a JasperReport object loaded with JRLoader.loadObject(URL) and parametros is a HashMap with the following key/values: REPORT_CONNECTION = MySQL JDBC connection, MOTIVO = "Venda" I really don't know what to do here. I keep getting the exception event if I use a query without any parameters. Why do I get this exception? What should I do here? Thanks!

  • How to terminate a JBPM processInstance

    - by jie-wang
Hi all I'm using JBPM 4.3 and trying hard to find a way to terminate one processInstance. First I simply used something like: executionService.endProcessInstance(processInstanceID, "active"); However I got exception thrown out. "exception while executing command org.jbpm.pvm.internal.cmd.EndProcessInstance java.lang.NullPointerException" Then I googled to find this post http://community.jboss.org/thread/146478, which didn't seem to give a resolution. I tried nevertheless to end all executions of the processInstance by calling ((ExecutionImpl) execution).end(); But the same exception was thrown again when I finally try to call executionService.endProcessInstance(processInstanceID, "active"); Did anyone have the same experience and solution?

  • Classes missing if application runs for a long time

    - by Rogach
I have a funny problem - if my application runs for a long time ( 20h), then sometimes I get NoClassDefFound error - seems like JVM decided that the class is not going to be used anyway and GCd it. To be a bit more specific, here's an example case: object ErrorHandler extends PartialFunction[Throwable,Unit] { def isDefinedAt(t: Throwable) = true def apply(e: Throwable) =e match { // ... handle errors } } // somewhere else in the code... try { // ... long running code, can take more than 20 hours to complete } catch (ErrorHandler) And I get the following exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/rogach/avalanche/ErrorHandler$ If that try/catch block runs for smaller amounts of time, everything works as expected. If anyone is interested, here is the codebase in question: Avalanche I need to note that I saw this and similar problems only on Cent OS 5 machines, using JRE 6u26 and Scala 2.9.1 / 2.9.2. What could be the cause of this problem?

  • Compiling Scala scripts. How works scalac?

    - by Arturo Herrero
Groovy Groovy comes with a compiler called groovyc. For each script, groovyc generates a class that extends groovy.lang.Script, which contains a main method so that Java can execute it. The name of the compiled class matches the name of the script being compiled. For example, with this HelloWorld.groovy script: println "Hello World" That becomes something like this code: class HelloWorld extends Script { public static void main(String[] args) { println "Hello World" } } Scala Scala comes with a compiler called scalac. I don't know how it works. For example, with the same HelloWorld.scala script: println("Hello World") The code is not valid for scalac, because the compiler expected class or object definition, but works in Scala REPL interpreter. How is possible? Is it wrapped in a class before execution?

  • Is it possible to replace groovy method for existing object?

    - by Jean Barmash
The following code tried to replace an existing method in a Groovy class: class A { void abc() { println "original" } } x= new A() x.abc() A.metaClass.abc={-> println "new" } x.abc() A.metaClass.methods.findAll{it.name=="abc"}.each { println "Method $it"} new A().abc() And it results in the following output: original original Method org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.metaclass.ClosureMetaMethod@103074e[name: abc params: [] returns: class java.lang.Object owner: class A] Method public void A.abc() new Does this mean that when modify the metaclass by setting it to closure, it doesn't really replace it but just adds another method it can call, thus resulting in metaclass having two methods? Is it possible to truly replace the method so the second line of output prints "new"? When trying to figure it out, I found that DelegatingMetaClass might help - is that the most Groovy way to do this?

  • Maven eclipse does not add a dependency

    - by Calm Storm
I have the following snippet in my pom.xml <dependency> <groupId>aspectj</groupId> <artifactId>aspectjrt</artifactId> <version>1.5.3</version> </dependency> and in one of my Java files I refer a class org.aspectj.lang.ProceedingJoinPoint. When I do a "mvn clean install" it compiles and builds fine but when I do an eclipse:eclipse, and import the project in eclipse it gives me an error The import org.aspectj cannot be resolved. I checked the .classpath file that was generated and it does not have an entry to this file. I tried a "mvn dependency:tree" and it lists this fine. Can someone tell me what is going wrong here?

  • Asynchronous Processing in JBoss 6 ("Comet")

    - by chris_l
edit: Retagged as tomcat, since this is really a question about the Tomcat embedded inside JBoss 6, rather than JBoss itself I have an extremely simple servlet, which works on Glassfish v3. It uses Servlet 3.0 Asynchronous Processing. Here's a simplified version (which doesn't do much): @WebServlet(asyncSupported=true) public class SimpleServlet extends HttpServlet { @Override protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { final AsyncContext ac = request.startAsync(); ac.setTimeout(3000); } } On JBoss 6.0.0 (Milestone 2), I get the following Exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: The servlet or filters that are being used by this request do not support async operation at org.apache.catalina.connector.Request.startAsync(Request.java:3096) at org.apache.catalina.connector.Request.startAsync(Request.java:3090) at org.apache.catalina.connector.RequestFacade.startAsync(RequestFacade.java:990) at playcomet.SimpleServlet.doGet(SimpleServlet.java:18) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:734) ... Do I have to do anything special to enable Asynchronous Processing in JBoss 6? Or do I need an additional deployment descriptor? ...

  • Problem of reading OWL/XML

I have no problem reading RDF/XML files, but whenever I create a OWL/XML file from Protege and try to read it, Java gives this error below : WARN [main] (RDFDefaultErrorHandler.java:36) Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at com.hp.hpl.jena.rdf.arp.impl.XMLHandler.endElement(XMLHandler.java:143) The code that I use to retrieve RDF/XML is below : OntModel ontModel = ModelFactory.createOntologyModel(); InputStream in = FileManager.get().open(inputFileName); if (in == null) { throw new IllegalArgumentException( "File: " + inputFileName + " not found"); } ontModel.read(in, ""); This code works with RDF/XML perfectly. However, I cannot read an OWL/XML. I looked at Internet and I couldn't find anything. I would really appreciate, if someone shows me a way. Many thanks

  • Getting a NullPointerException at seemingly random intervals, not sure why

    - by Miles
    I'm running an example from a Kinect library for Processing (http://www.shiffman.net/2010/11/14/kinect-and-processing/) and sometimes get a NullPointerException pointing to this line: int rawDepth = depth[offset]; The depth array is created in this line: int[] depth = kinect.getRawDepth(); I'm not exactly sure what a NullPointerException is, and much googling hasn't really helped. It seems odd to me that the code compiles 70% of the time and returns the error unpredictably. Could the hardware itself be affecting it? Here's the whole example if it helps: // Daniel Shiffman // Kinect Point Cloud example // http://www.shiffman.net // https://github.com/shiffman/libfreenect/tree/master/wrappers/java/processing import org.openkinect.*; import org.openkinect.processing.*; // Kinect Library object Kinect kinect; float a = 0; // Size of kinect image int w = 640; int h = 480; // We'll use a lookup table so that we don't have to repeat the math over and over float[] depthLookUp = new float[2048]; void setup() { size(800,600,P3D); kinect = new Kinect(this); kinect.start(); kinect.enableDepth(true); // We don't need the grayscale image in this example // so this makes it more efficient kinect.processDepthImage(false); // Lookup table for all possible depth values (0 - 2047) for (int i = 0; i < depthLookUp.length; i++) { depthLookUp[i] = rawDepthToMeters(i); } } void draw() { background(0); fill(255); textMode(SCREEN); text("Kinect FR: " + (int)kinect.getDepthFPS() + "\nProcessing FR: " + (int)frameRate,10,16); // Get the raw depth as array of integers int[] depth = kinect.getRawDepth(); // We're just going to calculate and draw every 4th pixel (equivalent of 160x120) int skip = 4; // Translate and rotate translate(width/2,height/2,-50); rotateY(a); for(int x=0; x<w; x+=skip) { for(int y=0; y<h; y+=skip) { int offset = x+y*w; // Convert kinect data to world xyz coordinate int rawDepth = depth[offset]; PVector v = depthToWorld(x,y,rawDepth); stroke(255); pushMatrix(); // Scale up by 200 float factor = 200; translate(v.x*factor,v.y*factor,factor-v.z*factor); // Draw a point point(0,0); popMatrix(); } } // Rotate a += 0.015f; } // These functions come from: http://graphics.stanford.edu/~mdfisher/Kinect.html float rawDepthToMeters(int depthValue) { if (depthValue < 2047) { return (float)(1.0 / ((double)(depthValue) * -0.0030711016 + 3.3309495161)); } return 0.0f; } PVector depthToWorld(int x, int y, int depthValue) { final double fx_d = 1.0 / 5.9421434211923247e+02; final double fy_d = 1.0 / 5.9104053696870778e+02; final double cx_d = 3.3930780975300314e+02; final double cy_d = 2.4273913761751615e+02; PVector result = new PVector(); double depth = depthLookUp[depthValue];//rawDepthToMeters(depthValue); result.x = (float)((x - cx_d) * depth * fx_d); result.y = (float)((y - cy_d) * depth * fy_d); result.z = (float)(depth); return result; } void stop() { kinect.quit(); super.stop(); } And here are the errors: processing.app.debug.RunnerException: NullPointerException at processing.app.Sketch.placeException(Sketch.java:1543) at processing.app.debug.Runner.findException(Runner.java:583) at processing.app.debug.Runner.reportException(Runner.java:558) at processing.app.debug.Runner.exception(Runner.java:498) at processing.app.debug.EventThread.exceptionEvent(EventThread.java:367) at processing.app.debug.EventThread.handleEvent(EventThread.java:255) at processing.app.debug.EventThread.run(EventThread.java:89) Exception in thread "Animation Thread" java.lang.NullPointerException at org.openkinect.processing.Kinect.enableDepth(Kinect.java:70) at PointCloud.setup(PointCloud.java:48) at processing.core.PApplet.handleDraw(PApplet.java:1583) at processing.core.PApplet.run(PApplet.java:1503) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:637)

  • How to register XHTML namespaces??

    - by John Tyler
My page use to validate for XHTML but I added the addthis buttons to page and it gives a new namespace: E.G.: <a addthis:url="http://domain.tld/path/to/stuff" addthis:title="Teh Title here"> I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:addthis="http://addthis.com/" lang="en"> Doesn't work. Can we register namespaces for the validator??? I AM EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO VALID XHTML. I like addthis, I think its the best button of its kind (yes, I need to use the namespace properties, I know you dont have to but I do for what im doing PHP project) :(
