  • K-means algorithm variation with minimum measure of size

    - by user1464628
I'm looking for some algorithm such as k-means for grouping points on a map into a fixed number of groups, by distance. The number of groups has already been decided, but the trick part (at least for me) is to meet the criteria that the sum of MOS of each group should in the certain range, say bigger than 1. Is there any way to make that happen? ID MOS X Y 1 0.47 39.27846 -76.77101 2 0.43 39.22704 -76.70272 3 1.48 39.24719 -76.68485 4 0.15 39.25172 -76.69729 5 0.09 39.24341 -76.69884

  • QueryTables error

    - by ktm5124
I have the following VBA code inside an Excel macro: With ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add( _ Connection:=ConnStr, _ Destination:=ActiveSheet.Range("A1"), _ Sql:=SqlStr) .Refresh End With And yet I am getting the error: "Run-time error '1004': Application-defined or object-defined error." The debugger points to this code as the source of error. Assuming that my ConnStr and SqlStr are correct, why am I getting this error? I am using Excel 2007 and I am querying an Oracle database.

    - by JD
Hi, I have set break points on my attached properties SetXXX and GetXXX static methods. In Xaml, I have assigned values to the attached property. However, I was expecting the Set or Get static methods to be called but they are not. • Connecting C++ backend to Javascript

    - by baseballtank13
I was hoping to make a website that displays a google map with points based of information returned by a C++ function. I know you can use Java Server Pages to call java methods on the server with javascript. Would there be a way to connect C++ code on the server with javascript in order to produce the same result as java server pages?

  • How to communicate between service controller and a service/daemon?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
It is easy to display the status of a Windows service or to control it (start/stop) from a GUI application but the question if how about receiving/sending notifications from the service? Like: service telling to the user monitoring it that it needs attention. Please consider that you can have several controllers started at any time in a multi-user environment. Do you know an example(open source) for this kind of communication? Extra points for a platform independent solution :)

  • Projection on a plane using a 2*3 matrix

    - by leipäjuusto
Hello, I can easily draw the projection of a 3D set of points onto the plane with normal vector (1,1,1), by using the matrix (-sqrt(3)/2 sqrt(3)/2 0) (-1/2 -1/2 1). I want to do the same thing, but for a projection onto an arbitrary plane with normal vector (a,b,c) instead of (1,1,1). How to find the matrix? Thanks in advance!

  • Is there any way to group edit buttons in MediaWiki?

    - by Mark Robinson
Is there any way to group the edit buttons displayed above the edit dialog in MediaWiki? By grouping, I mean like Word does (and even this editor) - you can add dividing lines to group them so that e.g. Bold and Italic are in one group, numbered list and bullet points in another. We've added lots of new buttons (in EditPage.php) and they are in a logical order, but at 30 buttons it is a bit overwhelming for some users.

  • Resize form objects in Java

    - by PeerFull
I have a Java applet, which is a form that draw shapes into it (Rect, Oval, Line). Each shape is represented by 2 points and can draw itself to the form. When the JApplet form resizes, I need to resize the shapes also while keeping the aspect ratio. I didn't find an high quality solution for doing this that solves this problem. Tried to write a solution from this, but it came up as lousy when tested, Can someone publish an example code for doing that please?

What solutions are there for working on a LaTeX document on both Windows and Linux? It's a large document, and I will be working daily on both platforms so compatibility is essential if it's two different pieces of software. Bonus points for a solution that includes easy previewing.

  • Java: Calculate distance between a large number of locations and performance

    - by Ally
I'm creating an application that will tell a user how far away a large number of points are from their current position. Each point has a longitude and latitude. I've read over this article http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html and seen this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/837872/calculate-distance-in-meters-when-you-know-longitude-and-latitude-in-java There are a number of calculations (50-200) that need carried about. If speed is more important than the accuracy of these calculations, which one is best?
