  • Update array in rails action?

    Hey guys, I have the following code in an action: @user = @current_user @user.votes[1430]='up' @user.update_attributes(params[:user]) Votes is a string type, there is no default value - I just want to set it for the first time when this action occurs. Unfortunately I get this error: NoMethodError You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! The error occurred while evaluating nil.votes any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    I want to be able to do the following: get '/:slug' do haml :page end get '/administration' do haml :admin end Is there a way that I can have get '/:slug' do have an exception for /administration? I realize you can do this with if else statements: get '/:slug' do if params[:slug] == 'administration' haml :admin else haml :page end end But that isn't very clean looking. Is there a way to have an exception to routes?

But at the time I add filter_resource_access or filter_access_to into my usersController i always get "Couldn't find User without an ID". Or can you just have this too: MyClass *myclass; myclass->DoSomething(); I thought this was a pointer allocated on the stack instead of the heap, but since objects are normally heap allocated, I think my theory is probably faulty??
