  I am using pthread.h in a *.cc file. when I try to use pthread_exit(0); or pthread_join(mythrds[yy],NULL); it says : .cc:(.text+0x3e): undefined reference to `pthread_exit' when complied very similar code in a *.c file with gcc it work perfect. How Can I use pthread's in c++.. • My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows.... • Is there an IDE that provides code completion for Python

  I am quite fond of the Intellisense code completion baked into Microsoft Visual Studio. I find that I only type 2 to 4 characters of any given keyword which drasticaly speeds up my coding. Now that I have been spending time writing some Python code I find myself reaching for ctrl+space. Are there any IDEs that support code completion in Python? I do my python development on a Mac so an OS x tool would be preferable. It seems like the doc string property of Python methods is a perfect match for inline API discovery.

  I am developing an app on Nokia C2-00 in which I am using push registry for auto start of app on some fixed time ex. PushRegistry.registerAlarm("ClassName", alarm.getTime()); this is working perfect and it starts app on that time. But this is asking me for permissions two times. 1) when I am registering alarm using PushRegistry.registerAlarm("ClassName", alarm.getTime()); 2) when app start on that defined time. in this and this link I found that if my application is signed then it will not ask for permission when app autostart. but I am not sure about the time when my code will register alarm. Will it ask for permission or not?

• How to stop an Android Service ONLY when there are no other activities in my app running?

  Is there a way I can test if there are any other activities in my app still alive? I am looking to stop a service in an onDestroy method, but only want to do this if there are no other activities from my app still alive on the stack. I have the call stop the service in the main activity's onDestroy() method. This works perfect EXCEPT that if a user launches my app, then launches a few activities in my app, then hits the home screen and RELAUNCHES my app, they will subvert my order and the main activity will now be above other activities of my app. From this state, if they hit the back button and 'back out' of my home screen they will trigger the onDestroy() method and kill the service even though there are other activities open on the stack. I want to avoid this by stopping the service ONLY if I am sure there are no other activities of mine open on the stack. Possible?

It's going to be big and have dymanic content where different users with different roles can perform modifications to the site. Place comments, rate stores, list items, etc. This sound like a perfect opportunity for me to expand my horizons and learn a PHP Framework. I've used PHP bare bones before but nothing too complex. As of now, do you think Kohana is a mature framework to use? I've used Zend in the past for a course in Uni but it sucked horribly, I was new to the MVC model, but Zend had pretty much zero workable tutorials and guides for newbies. That's why I hated it. Where can I go to learn how to use Kohana from a retarded starting point? Thank you very much for your time.

• Using Sandy 3D AS3, fill the viewport (exact fit) with multiple 3D objects.

  I'm stitching together an image using multiple instances of the sandy.primitive.Box. Each box is 96x91 while the viewport is 960x273 which should make for an exact fit if I layout the boxes in a perfect grid of 10x3. However, I can't seem to get the exact camera fieldOfView. I've tried a couple formulas (one for adjusting the "focal length" and one for adjusting the fov, directly). Both of these formulas produce a fov angle that is too narrow. // focal length (stage.stageHeight/2) / Math.tan(cam.fov / 2 * Math.PI / 180) // field of view 2 * Math.atan2( (stage.stageHeight/2), -cam.z ) * (180 / Math.PI) Another question about the same project: I need to adjust the perspective of each cube so that the image appears to be in 2D space (flat)... Any ideas on the best method for calculating such a "correction"?

• How do you reach a "flow" state while programming?

  I'm not talking about program flow, but as in the state of working called flow, the state where you can get great work done the most effectively. I find that my current work environment while good in many ways does not allow me to get into a good state of mind for writing code most of the time (my job includes many other functions). If it's critical to get something done I'll often put on head-phones with classical music and try to drown out the office noise around me (and discourage co-workings from asking me questions). I am best able to get work done late in the evening when the house is quite and I've been thinking about the project for most of the day. What tricks have you found when working in less then perfect office environments?

  I am hosting a Wordpress blog, and having a strange problem. When I connect to the server (http://71.65.199.125/ at the time of this writing) it displays the Title correctly, and half of a download bar, indicating it has received some of the page, then it hangs for exactly 150 seconds (timed it twice), then it sends the rest of the page, but without the stylesheet. after that it hangs indefinitely, continuing to say "connecting..." without making any progress. If you have any clues as to what might be happening, or how I could print debug logs of PHP or something to see what it is looking for during that hang time that would probably help. recent changed I have made: switched wordpress themes, however I did see it work once with the new theme. moved the server to another building, with an identical ISP, and linksys router forwarding setup. I have also added a favicon.gif file to /var/www but without linking to it from any of the wordpress pages. I have also had a unanticipated power interruption. System info: Ubuntu debian 9.04 Apache2 PHP 5 Wordpress 2.9.2 Thank you

• Favicon to PNG in PHP

  I need a PHP script to convert favicons to PNGs while keeping their original dimensions. I know Google has it's secret icon converter - http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=http://facebook.com/ but this converts favicons to 16x16 even if they they were originally larger. So basically I need this, minus the shrinking effect. I've also seen this - http://www.controlstyle.com/articles/programming/text/php-favicon/ but I couldn't get it to work after hours of messing around with it. Basically I am trying to automatically grab the icon for a link that will be as large as possible - automatically 48x48 png based on a URL would be the perfect scenario, but I don't know of any humanly possible way to do this given that no websites happen to keep a 48x48 icon in a publicly accessible spot. Does anybody know of a script/service or have a suggestion? Thanks!

  I'd like to use use maps in my application, so that there will be as less as possible traffic. Perfect solution would be caching of map slices. I know it's not possible with google maps (license). I took a look on OpenStreetMaps and it seems as good solution. The next: SDK. The only one I've found is from CloudMade. The problem is, I found no related API methods for caching/offline calls. Are there any alternative solutions?

• Issue with exim4u

  I am using exim4u for a mail server on debian. Everything has been working fine until recently. I have not done anything to the server from the time it was working until now. I have a domain set up and is receiving and sending mail correctly. When i put a forwarding address in to a gmail address, I can still receive and send email from my webmail client but it never makes it to gmail. • Netbeans GUI Form corrupted?

  I was making a java gui application through netbeans IDE. All was working fine but yesterday when I opened the form in Netbeans, it said that the form had been corrupted and it could only open that form in read-only mode. When I opened that form in read-only mode, I found that the code was incomplete as severals lines of coding wasn't there at the end. Could anybody tell me how to recover the form. The form is perfect in lookwise but the generated code is incomplete. The code is too long to write it again. The Netbeans told me to get help from http://wiki.netbeans.org/FormGuardedBlockError but I didn't find any helpful information there.

• How can I get web pages from sub.a.com using url sub.b.com?

  I have developed www.mysite.com. This site can be "integrated" into my partners website. What I do is to create partner1.mysite.com and repalce my header and footer with my partners header and footer and replace some CSS styling. This should make it as transaprent as possible for the user, so that they think they are still browsing my partners website. There are two ways I see how I can accomplish this: 1. My partner uses an IFrame to show the content from partner1.mysite.com 2. My partner creates sub domain and points it to my sub domain. Solution 1 is easy, but I'm not sure how search engines likes this, so I will try solution 2. QUESTION Can I use mysite.partner1.com but read content from partner1.mysite.com? I don't want to forward / redirect users to partner1.mysite.com. It's important that the URL is mysite.partner1.com / mysite.partner1.com/some/page. Is this possible?   I have a number of rectangular elements that I want to position in a 2D space. I calculate an ideal position for each element. Now my problem is that many elements overlap as very often the ideal positions are concentrated in one region. I want to avoid overlap as much as possible (doesn't have to be perfect, though). How can I do this? I've heard physics simulations are suitable for this - is that correct? And can anyone provide an example/tutorial?   Hello everyone, In the perfect world, all the software developers would work with the cutting edge technologies, creating systems from the scratch. In the real life, almost all of us have to maintain software from time to time (unlucky ones do it on a regular basis). Personally I first 2 years of my career was fixing bugs in the company that no longer exists (it has been taken up by Oracle). And probably the biggest lesson I've learned that time - despite of the pressure, always try to get as much information about the domain as possible (even if it's irrelevant to fixing a specific bug or adding a feature) - abstract domain knowledge doesn't lose value as fast as knowledge about trendy frameworks or methodologies. What lessons have you learned from maintenance?

• What is the Simplest Possible Payment Gateway to Implement? (using Django)

  I'm developing a web application that will require users to either make one time deposits of money into their account, or allow users to sign up for recurring billing each month for a certain amount of money. I've been looking at various payment gateways, but most (if not all) of them seem complex and difficult to get working. I also see no real active Django projects which offer simple views for making payments. Ideally, I'd like to use something like Amazon FPS, so that I can see online transaction logs, refund money, etc., but I'm open to other things. I just want the EASIEST possible payment gateway to integrate with my site. I'm not looking for anything fancy, whatever does the job, and requires < 10 hours to get working from start to finish would be perfect. I'll give answer points to whoever can point out a good one. • Setting up virtualbox for outside access

  I have a computer running a server that my subdomain on my shared hosting account points to. IE subdomain.mydomain.org goes to my home server. Now then; what I'm wanting to do is be able to access my VirtualBox servers through that subdomain and a different port. E.G Ubuntu Virtual Box Server 1 Username:Ubuntuhost1 Password:MyUbuntuHost1 Port:4000 Internal IP: 192.168.1.60 External IP: 24.29.138.45 Ubuntu Virtual Box Server 2 Username:UbuntuHost2 Password:MyUbuntuHost2 Port:4001 Internal IP: 192.168.1.61 External IP: 24.29.138.45 Now I want to be able to access RDP number 1 through Port 4000, but if I access Port 4001 it will connect to the server on port 4001; both using the same subdomain. The next issue is the fact that even though I know what the IP addresses are on the router for the virtualbox hosts through ifconfig it doesn't change the fact that they don't show up on the router. If anyone knows how to configure this to work please help me out because I've been racking my brain to the highest extent I can. Alright; here's an edit to clarify more; Sorry. My ports on the router are edited to forward Port 4000 on Internal IP 192.168.1.63 (My Ubuntu Internal IP address) Now when I go to my Router Home Page my VirtualBox Internal IP Address doesn't show on the attached device listings, so I set up port forwarding anyways to the VirtualBox Internal IP. My end goal is when I connect to mydomain.org and I connect through port 3389 it takes me to my host computers server, but if I put in mydomain.org and go through port 4000 it's going to redirect to my VirtualBox server; Is this even possible? Sorry; I'm trying to clarify the most I think I can I just don't know how else to explain my issue.

In my preamble I have: \theoremstyle{empty} \newtheorem{Condtion}{Condtion} When I want to typeset a condition, I write: \begin{Condtion}[name] \label{cnd:nm} foo foo foo \end{Condition} The name appears boldface on the same line as the start of the text of the condition, with no number or anything. Perfect. What I want to do now is refer to the condition by some variant of the \ref command, \ref calls the number [which is not displayed anywhere else] \thref writes "Condition n" for the nth condition \nameref writes the name of the SECTION of the label. a zref solution was suggested here, but seems unsatisfactory. Any clues?

• Login failed for user 'XXX' on the mirrored sql server

  Hello, We have 4 web servers that host our asp.net (3.5) application. Randomly, we get error messages like : 1) "Login failed for user 'userid'" 2) "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)" we are running sql2005 and have a principle and a mirror db (sync). When these exceptions are thrown, I look at the SQL error logs on the mirrored db and noticed the failed login messages in there. The principle db is running fine and the other web apps are working great. this will happen for maybe 10 min, then the app pool recycles and it starts hitting the principle db again. Is there a configuration I have incorrect? my theory is that our principle db is forwarding the request to the mirror, but that should never happen. any help??

• Configuring IE to resolve DNS at the proxy rather than locally.

  With the intention of tunneling web traffic through an SSH connection, the following has been done: I've manually configured a PAC file in IE7 in the LAN Settings dialog. I've verified that traffic is routed through my SSH tunnel that is setup for SOCKS5 dynamic port forwarding. I see that IE7 is always trying to resolve the name locally first. What I'm looking for is the ability to have the DNS name resolved at the proxy, rather than locally by the browser. There's a setting in Firefox that specifies DNS remote resolution, and Safari does it automatically. I've verified correct operation for these 2 other browsers. It would be nice if I could get IE to work also. This is for reference so you could understand where does the question originate from. Notice: The question was actually found by the help of google but with no answers available. Considering how it is exactly my question I figured I should just copy/paste over here because I don't think I could describe any better (there is a small introduction though).
