    I would like to have a very short / minimal example of how to create some tabular widget with different types of item in it. In the first round let's say I'd like to render [["Hello", 12, True], ["World", 13, False]] (Hello as string, 12 as number (right-align), True as a checkbox for eg.), but it would be nice to have Dates, Colors, and other type of info. Next round: editing (integer with spinbox, maybe sometimes a combobox is handy, but that may not work out of the box). There must be a simple solution, but I couldn't find...

  • How do i tint an image with HTML5 Canvas ?

    My question is, what is the best way to tint an image that is drawn using the drawImage method. The target useage for this is advanced 2d particle-effects (game development) where particles change colors over time etc. I am not asking how to tint the whole canvas, only the current image i am about to draw. I have concluded that the globalAlpha parameter affects the current image that is drawn. //works with drawImage() canvas2d.globalAlpha = 0.5; But how do i tint each image with an arbitrary color value ? It would be awesome if there was some kind of globalFillStyle or globalColor or that kind of thing...

  • Alternatives to UIWebView for rich content?

    In my app, I am displaying 4 "tabs", each are local content through a UIWebView. I create HTML markup from my simple data. This is slow to load and I'm trying to speed it up. I'm using UIWebView to accomplish these: 1. hyperlinks 2. some styling - font colors 3. HTML tables Writing my own class to handle this is okay for (1.) hyperlinks - I can use a touch event to call a method. And (2.) styling - I can use UILables to do basic formatting, no biggie here. BUT what I really love about the UIWebViews is the (3.) HTML tables! I find it troublesome to line up the UILabels in a way that mimics HTML Tables, for instance, one cell's height in a row changes the height of all cells. I'm looking for another perspective or knowledge of an alternative.

    I have a control with white text foreground color and transparent background color. Later on this usercontrol will be added into a different control that carries the real background color. However during designing this, control due white foreground on white background in VS 2010, I can't obviously see anything. In there anyway to define a different color for just the design time?   • How to color a mesh with values at the vertices in WPF 3D?

    We've got a sphere which we want to display in 3D and color given a fuction that depends on spherical coordinates. The sphere was triangulated using a regular grid in (theta, phi), but this produced a lot of small triangles near the poles. In an attempt to reduce the number triangles at the poles, we've changed out mesh generation to produce more evenly sized triangles over the surface. The first triangulation method had the advantage that we could easily create a texture and drape it over the surface. It seems that in WPF it isn't possible to assign colors to vertices the way one would go about in OpenGL or Direct3D. With the second triangulation method it isn't apparent how to go about generating the texture and setting the texture coordinates, since the vertices aren't aligned to a grid anymore. Maybe it would be possible to create a linear texture containing a color for each vertex, but then how will that effect the coloring? Will it still render smoothly over the triangle surfaces as one would expect by applying per vertex coloring?

    I'm getting ready to make a drawing application in Windows. I'm just wondering, do drawing programs have a memory bitmap which they lock, then set each pixel, then blit? I don't understand how Photoshop can move entire layers without lag or flicker without using hardware acceleration. Also in a program like Expression Design, I could have 200 shapes and move them around all at once with no lag. I'm really wondering how this can be done without GPU help. I don't think super efficient algorithms could justify that? Thanks

    This next part of code does exactly what I want it to do. dem_rows and dem_cols contain float values for a number of things i can identify in an image, but i need to get the nearest pixel for each of them, and than to make sure I only get the unique points, and no duplicates. The problem is that this code is ugly and as far as I get it, as unpythonic as it gets.   • Color generation based on random number

    I would like to create a color generator based on random numbers, which might differ just slightly, but I need colors to be easily recognizable from each other. I was thinking about generation then in a rgb format which would be probably easiest. I'm afraid simply multiplying given arguments wouldn't do very well. What algorithm do you suggest using? Also, second generated color should not be the same as previous one, but I don't want to store them - nor multiplying with (micro)time would do well since the scripts' parts are usually faster.

  • UItableviewcell makes label's background clear when highlighted

    I have a UIlabel on a UItabelViewCell, which I've created programmatically (ie not a nib or a subclass). When the cell is highlighted (goes blue) it makes all the background colors of the UILabels turn clear I have 2 UILabels where I don't want this to be the case. Currently I m using UIImageViews behind the UILabel's to make it look like the background color doesn't change. But this seems an inefficient way to do it. How can i stop certain UILabel's background color changing when the TableViewCell is highlighted?

    I'm looking for an algorithm to flip a 1 Bit Bitmap line horizontally. Remember these lines are DWORD aligned! I'm currently unencoding an RLE stream to an 8 bit-per-pixel buffer, then re-encoding to a 1 bit line, however, I would like to try and keep it all in the 1 bit space in an effort to increase its speed.     I need a simple graphics library that supports the following functionality: Ability to draw polygons (not just rectangles!) with RGBA colors (i.e., partially transparent), Ability to load bitmap images, Ability to read current color of pixel in a given coordinate. Ideally using JavaScript or Python. Seems like HTML 5 Canvas can handle #2 and #3 but not #1, whereas SVG can handle #1 and #2 but not #3. Am I missing something (about either of these two)?     I'm trying to typeset a document I'm working on. Currently I'm trying to format a piece of text such that the text consists of two colors: a fill color and a line color. In this way the header should pop out more. I found \psset with options such as linecolor and fillcolor, but I can't get it to work. Can someone provide an example of how I could do this? Just providing a color using the color-package is no problem, but also not what I want because using this package I can only provide a single color for a piece of text.

  • glBlendFunc() with 32-bit RGBA textures

    I have a texture that is semi-transparent with varying opacity at different locations. I have the main texture bitmap, and a mask bitmap. When the program executes, the alpha values from the mask bitmap are loaded into the alpha values of the main texture bitmap. The areas that I want to be transparent have a value of 255 alpha, and the areas that I want to remain totally opaque have values of 0 alpha. There are in-between values also for mid-transparency. I have tried all manner of glBlendFunc() settings, but it is either completely invisible or it acts on the RGB colors of the source texture. Any help out there?

  • Windows Mobile 6.5 flick (scrolling with inertia) not working

    After upgrading to windows mobile 6.5, my ListView control does not work properly with custom items (rows with alternate colors) and the new gesture mechanism... On a mobile device, if the user initiates a flick or pan, after scrolling the first few items, the last items are not shown on the screen, but will show up if the user explicitly taps on them -- so basically the last screen is just white. The WM_DRAWITEM message is sent to all children though, but they just don't show up on the screen. Scrolling with a bar works fine. Any ideas? I have seen some reports of similar behavior from other users, but not sure if this is a bug in the listview control itself or if there is something else that needs to/can be implemented to support flick and pan actions. The application code currently doesn't handle WM_GESTURE messages, so the flick action is done with Microsoft's own code to support legacy applications. Thanks!

    When assigning some HTML elements (like a form input) 100% width - you can no longer apply any additional styles that might effect the width. Things like border or padding will cause the element to exceed 100%. This results in awkward elements that may be outside of their parent elements. Since CSS doesn't support width: 100% - 2px; The only way I know around this is to use an absolute pixel width (width: 98px) or chop the element off at 100% which is not really an option. <div style="overflow:hidden;"> <input style="width:100%; border: 1px solid #000;" /> </div> Are they're any other ways around this?
