  • how to allocate array of channels in go

    - by eran
    Sorry for the novice syntax question. How do how create an array of channels in go? var c0 chan int = make(chan int); var c1 chan int = make(chan int); var c2 chan int = make(chan int); var c3 chan int = make(chan int); var c4 chan int = make(chan int); That is, replacing the above five lines in one array of channels of size 5? Many thanks.

  • Powershell: Setting values of a filtered array

    - by Alan T
    Hi All I want to read in a csv file, filter it based on the values of two of the fields and set the value of another field. Here's a simple example of what I'm trying to achieve: c:\somefile.csv contents: firstField,secondField,thirdField 1,2,"somevalue" 2,2,"avalue" 3,1,"somevalue" #Import file into array $csv = Import-Csv c:\somefile.csv # Where secondField = 2 and thirdField = "someValue" set thirdField = "anotherValue" $csv | where {$_secondField -eq 2 -and $_.thirdField = "somevalue"} | <set value of thirdField = "anotherValue"> How can I do this. As you can see, from the example about, I can read in and filter the array. But I don't know how to then set the value of the thirdField. I tried set-itemproperty but got the error: "The WriteObject and WriteError methods cannot be called after the pipeline has been closed". Any advice on how to achive this would be appreciated. • Adding values to a C# array

    - by Ross
    Probably a really simple one this - I'm starting out with C# and need to add values to an array, for example: int[] terms; for(int runs = 0; runs < 400; runs++) { terms[] = value; } For those who have used PHP, here's what I'm trying to do in C#: $arr = array(); for ($i = 0; $i < 10; $i++) { $arr[] = $i; } Thanks, Ross

    I am trying to get a random array like this srand((float) microtime() * 10000000); $input = array("Neo", "Morpheus", "Trinity", "Cypher", "Tank"); $rand_keys = array_rand($input, 2); echo $input[$rand_keys[0]] . "\n"; echo $input[$rand_keys[1]] . "\n"; it shows 2 numbers randomly if I have $rand_keys = array_rand($input, 2);$rand_keys = array_rand($input, 5); but since I want all 5 to show it doesnt work. whats causing that.   • Where would I implement this array to pass?

    - by Keeano Martin
    I currently build an NSMutableArray in Class A.m within the ViewDidLoad Method. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; //Question Array Setup and Alloc stratToolsDict = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] initWithObjectsAndKeys:countButton,@"count",camerButton,@"camera",videoButton,@"video",textButton,@"text",probeButton,@"probe", nil]; stratTools = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"Tools",stratToolsDict, nil]; stratObjectsDict = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc]initWithObjectsAndKeys:stratTools,@"Strat1",stratTools,@"Strat2",stratTools,@"Strat3",stratTools,@"Strat4", nil]; stratObjects = [[NSMutableArray alloc]initWithObjects:@"Strategies:",stratObjectsDict,nil]; QuestionDict = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc]initWithObjectsAndKeys:stratObjects,@"Question 1?",stratObjects,@"Question 2?",stratObjects,@"Question 3?",stratObjects,@"Question 4?",stratObjects,@"Question 5?", nil]; //add strategys to questions QuestionsList = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; for (int i = 0; i < 1; i++) { [QuestionsList addObject:QuestionDict]; } NSLog(@"Object: %@",QuestionsList); At the end of this method you will see QuestionsList being initialized and now I need to send this Array to Class B. So I place its setters and getters using the @property and @Synthesize method. Class A.h @property (retain, nonatomic) NSMutableDictionary *stratToolsDict; @property (retain, nonatomic) NSMutableArray *stratTools; @property (retain, nonatomic) NSMutableArray *stratObjects; @property (retain, nonatomic) NSMutableDictionary *QuestionDict; @property (retain, nonatomic) NSMutableArray *QuestionsList; Class A.m @synthesize QuestionDict; @synthesize stratToolsDict; @synthesize stratObjects; @synthesize stratTools; @synthesize QuestionsList; I use the property method because I am going to call this variable from Class B and want to be able to assign it to another NSMutableArray. I then add the @property and @class for Class A to Class B.h as well as declare the NSMutableArray in the @interface. #import "Class A.h" @class Class A; @interface Class B : UITableViewController<UITableViewDataSource, UITableViewDelegate>{ NSMutableArray *QuestionList; Class A *arrayQuestions; } @property Class A *arrayQuestions; Then I call NSMutableArray from Class A in the Class B.m -(id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewStyle)style { if ([super initWithStyle:style] != nil) { //Make array arrayQuestions = [[Class A alloc]init]; QuestionList = arrayQuestions.QuestionsList; Right after this I Log the NSMutableArray to view values and check that they are there and it returns NIL. //Log test NSLog(@"QuestionList init method: %@",QuestionList); Info about Class B- Class B is a UIPopOverController for Class A, Class B has one View which holds a UITableView which I have to populate the results of Class A's NSMutableArray. Why is the NsMutableArray coming back as NIL? Ultimately would like some help figuring it out as well, it seems to really have me confused. Help is greatly appreciated!!

  • How to decode Google spreadsheet's Json respose as a Php Array

    - by Mohammad
    My google Docs Spreadsheet call returns this response in the json format (I only need everything after "rows") please look at the formatted response here : ) I use php's json_decode function to parse the data and use it (Yes, I am awful at php) This code returns NULL, and according to the documentation, NULL is returned "if the json cannot be decoded". $json = file_get_contents($jsonurl); $json_output = json_decode($json); var_dump ($json_output); // Returns NULL Basically, what i want to accomplish is to make a simple array from the first row values of the Json response. like this $array = {'john','John Handcock','[email protected]','2929292','blanc'} You guys are genius, I would appreciate your insight and help on this very much! Answer as "sberry2A" mentions bellow, the response is not valid Json, google offers the Zend Json library for this purpose, tho I decided to parse the tsv-excel version instead :)

  • Return SQL Query as Array in Powershell

    - by Emo
    I have a SQL 2008 Ent server with the databases "DBOne", "DBTwo", "DBThree" on the server DEVSQLSRV. Here is my Powershell script: $DBNameList = (Invoke-SQLCmd -query "select Name from sysdatabases" -Server DEVSQLSRV) This produces my desired list of database names as: Name ----- DBOne DBTwo DBThree I has been my assumption that anything that is returned as a list is an Array in Powershell. However, when I then try this in Powershell: $DBNameList -contains 'DBTwo' It comes back has "False" instead of "True" which is leading me to believe that my list is not an actual array. Any idea what I'm missing here? Thanks so much! Emo

  • Converting array to list in Java

    - by Alexandru
    How do I convert an array to a list in Java? I used the Arrays.asList() but the behavior (and signature) somehow changed from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0 and most snippets I found on the web use the 1.4.2 behaviour. For example: int[] spam = new int[] { 1, 2, 3 }; Arrays.asList(spam) on 1.4.2 returns a list containing the elements 1, 2, 3 on 1.5.0 returns a list containing the array spam In many cases it should be easy to detect, but sometimes it can slip unnoticed: Assert.assertTrue(Arrays.asList(spam).indexOf(4) == -1);

  • Getter/setter on javascript array?

    - by Martin Hansen
    Is there a way to get a get/set behaviour on an array? I imagine something like this: var arr = ['one', 'two', 'three']; var _arr = new Array(); for (var i=0; i < arr.length; i++) { arr[i].defineGetter('value', function(index) { //Do something return _arr[index]; }); arr[i].defineSetter('value', function(index, val) { //Do something _arr[index] = val; }); };

  • Objective-C: How to create a method that will return a UInt8 array from an int

    - by Adam
    I need to create an Objective-C method that converts an int into a byte array. In this instance, I can't use NSArray as a return type, it must be an UInt8 array. I've written a simple method to do this, but it has errors during compile and tells me that I have incompatible return types. Here is the code snippet. Any ideas? - (UInt8[])ConvertToBytes:(int) i { UInt8 *retVal[4]; retVal[0] = i >> 24; retVal[1] = i >> 16; retVal[2] = i >> 8; retVal[3] = i >> 0; return retVal; }

  • How to create Shared VB Array Initialisors for NerdDinner

    - by David A Gibson
    Hello, I am trying to work my way through the NerdDinner tutorial - and as an exercise I'm converting it to VB as I go. I'm not very far in and after having gotten past the C# Yield statement I'm stuck on Shared VB Array Initialisors. static IDictionary<string, Regex> countryRegex = new Dictionary<string, Regex>() { { "USA", new Regex("^[2-9]\\d{2}-\\d{3}-\\d{4}$")}, { "UK", new Regex("(^1300\\d{6}$)|(^1800|1900|1902\\d{6}$)|(^0[2|3|7|8]{1}[0- 9]{8}$)|(^13\\d{4}$)|(^04\\d{2,3}\\d{6}$)")}, { "Netherlands", new Regex("(^\\+[0-9]{2}|^\\+[0- 9]{2}\\(0\\)|^\\(\\+[0-9]{2}\\)\\(0\\)|^00[0-9]{2}|^0)([0-9]{9}$|[0-9\\- \\s]{10}$)")}, Can anyone please help me write this in VB? Public Shared countryRegex As IDictionary(Of String, Regex) = New Dictionary(Of String, Regex)() {("USA", New Regex("^[2-9]\\d{2}-\\d{3}-\\d{4}$"))} This code has an error as it does not accept the String and the Regex as an item for the array. Thanks

  • I-Phone: Trying to check an Array for an item based on a string produced

    - by MB
    Hello! I'm writing a program that will concatenate a string based on letters, and then check an array to see if that string exists. If it does, then it will print a line in IB saying so. I've got all the ins-and-outs worked out, save for the fact that the simulator keeps crashing on me! Here's the code: -(IBAction)checkWord:(id)sender { NSMutableArray *wordList = [NSMutableArray arrayWithObjects:@"BIKE", @"BUS", @"BILL", nil]; if([wordList containsObject:theWord]) { NSString *dummyText = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%@ is a real word.", theWord]; checkText.text = dummyText; [dummyText release]; } } "theWord" is the string that is being referenced against the Array to see if it matches an item contained within it. In this case "BIKE" is 'theWord'. Thank you for your help in advance! -MB

  • .Net Array or IList<T> from NumPy array in IronPython?

    - by Barry Wark
    Imagine I have a .Net application that supports user extensions in the form of Python modules by embedding IronPython. Using Ironclad, I can allow users to make use of the NumPy and SciPy packages from within their modules. How good is the interop provided by Ironclad? My question is: can I use a NumPy array of type T provided by the user's module in the rest of my app that requires an IList<T>? Edit To clarify, IronPython exposes any Python enumerable of objects of type T as an IEnumerable<T> or an IList<T>. I'm not sure if NumPy arrays fit in this category. I would rather not have to call .tolist() on the NumPy array as the arrays may be quite large.

  • Sorting an array of Objective-c objects

    - by davbryn
    So I have a custom class Foo that has a number of members: @interface Foo : NSObject { NSString *title; BOOL taken; NSDate *dateCreated; } And in another class I have an NSMutableArray containing a list of these objects. I would very much like to sort this array based on the dateCreated property; I understand I could write my own sorter for this (iterate the array and rearrange based on the date) but I was wondering if there was a proper Objective-C way of achieving this? Some sort of sorting mechanism where I can provide the member variable to sort by would be great. In C++ I used to overload the < = operators and this allowed me to sort by object, but I have a funny feeling Objective-C might offer a nicer alternative? Many thanks

  • Using array as map value: Cant see the error

    - by Tom
    Hi all, Im trying to create a map, where the key is an int, and the value is an array int red[3] = {1,0,0}; int green[3] = {0,1,0}; int blue[3] = {0,0,1}; std::map<int, int[3]> colours; colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_LEFT_BUTTON,red)); //THIS IS LINE 24 ! colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_MIDDLE_BUTTON,blue)); colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_RIGHT_BUTTON,green)); However, when I try to compile this code, I get the following error. g++ (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu8) 4.4.1 In file included from /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_algobase.h:66, from /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_tree.h:62, from /usr/include/c++/4.4/map:60, from ../src/utils.cpp:9: /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h: In constructor ‘std::pair<_T1, _T2>::pair(const _T1&, const _T2&) [with _T1 = int, _T2 = int [3]]’: ../src/utils.cpp:24: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h:84: error: array used as initializer /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h: In constructor ‘std::pair<_T1, _T2>::pair(const std::pair<_U1, _U2>&) [with _U1 = int, _U2 = int [3], _T1 = const int, _T2 = int [3]]’: ../src/utils.cpp:24: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h:101: error: array used as initializer In file included from /usr/include/c++/4.4/map:61, from ../src/utils.cpp:9: /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_map.h: In member function ‘_Tp& std::map<_Key, _Tp, _Compare, _Alloc>::operator[](const _Key&) [with _Key = int, _Tp = int [3], _Compare = std::less<int>, _Alloc = std::allocator<std::pair<const int, int [3]> >]’: ../src/utils.cpp:30: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_map.h:450: error: conversion from ‘int’ to non-scalar type ‘int [3]’ requested make: *** [src/utils.o] Error 1 I really cant see where the error is.   • Finding the second highest number in array

    - by Richard Jackson
    I'm having difficulty to understand the logic behind the method to find the second highest number in array. The method used is to find the highest in the array but less than the previous highest (which has already been found). The thing that I still can't figure it out is why || highest_score == second_highest is necessary. For example I input three numbers: 98, 56, 3. Without it, both highest and second highest would be 98. Please explain. int second highest = score[0]; if (score[i] > second_highest && score[i] < highest_score || highest_score == second_highest) second_highest = score[i];

  • Getting a char array from a vector<int>?

    - by Legend
    I am trying to pass a value from C++ to TCL. As I cannot pass pointers without the use of some complicated modules, I was thinking of converting a vector to a char array and then passing this as a null terminated string (which is relatively easy). I have a vector as follows: 12, 32, 42, 84 which I want to convert into something like: "12 32 42 48" The approach I am thinking of is to use an iterator to iterate through the vector and then convert each integer into its string representation and then add it into a char array (which is dynamically created initially by passing the size of the vector). Is this the right way or is there a function that already does this?

  • Standard Place for an Empty String Array in the JDK

    - by Simon B
    Hi is there a standard place for accessing empty array constants in the JDK 1.5. When I want to do a conversion from a String Collection (e.g. ArrayList)to a String Array I find myself using my own which is defined in my own Constants class: public static final String[] EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY = new String[0]; And then in my client code something like: String[] retVal = myStringList.toArray(Constants.EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY); return retVal; I was wondering if this is the "idiomatic" of doing it or if I'm missing something I get the impression from the brief search I did that this kind of thing is prevalent in many people's code. Any ideas, answers, comment (aside from that I shouldn't really use String Arrays) greatly appreciated, Cheers Simon

  • Faster way to iterate through a jaggad array?

    - by George Johnston
    I would like to iterate through an array that covers every pixel on my screen. i.e: for (int y = 598; y > 0; y--) { for (int x = 798; x > 0; x--) { if (grains[x][y]) { spriteBatch.Draw(Grain, new Vector2(x,y), Color.White); } } } ...my texture is a 1x1 pixel image that is drawn to the screen when the array value is true. It runs decent -- but there is definitely lag the more screen I cover. Is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to achieve?

  • Deserialize unnamed json array into an object in c#

    - by rksprst
    Wondering how to deserialize the following string in c#: "[{\"access_token\":\"thisistheaccesstoken\"}]" I know how to do it if the json was: "{array=[{\"access_token\":\"thisistheaccesstoken\"}]}" I'd do it like this: public class AccessToken { public string access_token {get;set;} public DateTime expires { get; set; } } public class TokenReturn { public List<AccessToken> tokens { get; set; } } JavaScriptSerializer ser = new JavaScriptSerializer(); TokenReturn result = ser.Deserialize<TokenReturn>(responseFromServer); But without that array name, I'm not sure. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Trouble Emitting Object Array using Reflection.Emit

    - by JoeGeeky
    I am trying to Emit what I thought would be a simple object array that would result in code similar to the below example object[] parameters = new object[] { a, b, }; When I write the above code in C# using VS, I get the following IL. As expected this works. .locals init ( [0] object[] parameters, [1] object[] CS$0$0000) However, when I try and Emit IL directly, I only ever get a one index init array. Can someone help tell me where I've gone wrong here? Here is the Emit code I'm using: int arraySize = 2; LocalBuilder paramValues = ilGenerator.DeclareLocal(typeof(object[])); paramValues.SetLocalSymInfo("parameters"); ilGenerator.Emit(OpCodes.Ldc_I4_S, arraySize); ilGenerator.Emit(OpCodes.Newarr, typeof(object)); ilGenerator.Emit(OpCodes.Stloc, paramValues); Here is the resulting IL: .locals init ( [0] object[] objArray) The rest of the resulting IL is identical between the two solutions, but for some reason the .locals init is different.
