  I'm trying to sort a GLibc hash table by id that looks something like: key - id { "Red", 2, "BLue", 4, "Yellow", 5, "Orange", 8 } I'm just not sure how to approach this because GLibc does not have a sort method. I was thinking to use qsort or GCompareFunc Any ideas will be appreciate it!

  I would like to implement one of the fanciest features I every now and then. I would like to allow a user to click on a JList and if words are typed, do a query and advance the caret to the next match (prefix). Is there and example of such an implementation in Java somewhere? I'm thinking a combination of key listeners, getNextMatch() and setSelectValue().

  Hi Experts.. Is there any reliable way to check if user has entered Arabic words into a form and tries to submit it? Can Javascript handle this? Or, only server script like .NET can do this? I'm thinking that if possible the script should directly prevent the user from inputting Arabic words into the form and show an alert pop up. Am I right in thinking that its just a case of doing an NSURLRequest and then hacking what you need out of the responseData(NSData*)? I am not too concerned about the implementation in Xcode, I am more curious about actually collecting the data, before I start coding a "hunt & peck" through a list of data. gary

  I have successfully gotten JmDNS working on Android 2.1 testing on a Motorola Droid by using MulticastLock, but recently got an HTC Incredible as second test device, and JmDNS discovery doesn't work at all. I should mention that broadcasting a service still works and everything appears to run normally, but serviceAdded() never gets called. Does anyone have thoughts on why this might be? I was thinking it might be a permission issue, but I don't get any exceptions...

  Using mysql 5.1.41 and innodb I'm doing some data import, but can't use load data infile, so I'm manually issuing insert statements. I found that it's much faster to disable auto commit and issue say, 100 insert statements and then commit, instead of the implicit commit after each insert. It got me thinking, what limits are there to how much data I can put into a transaction? Is there a limit on the number of statements, or does it have to do with the size in bytes etc...?

The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to do a sync of the contacts to my web server and I don't feel like checking for each contact with a HTTP request if it needs updating.   I was thinking about a way to allow multiple users to get CRUD access to an XML document in an asp.net app. The operations would obviously have to be made under the assumption of a multithreaded environment. For perf reasons, would it make sense to cache the document, and use a mutex on that cached version? When would changes be flushed to the physical XML document? Any and all recommendations are appreciated (also "use a database" isn't an option at this point unfortunately)

  Hi Everyone: By default (it seems), IKImageBrowserView enables drag and drop to locations in the Finder. I would like to turn off this behavior but am unsure of how to do so.
