  • Can't get jQuery AutoComplete to work with External JSON

    - by rockinthesixstring
    I'm working on an ASP.NET app where I'm in need of jQuery AutoComplete. Currently there is nothing happening when I type data into the txt63 input box (and before you flame me for using a name like txt63, I know, I know... but it's not my call :D ). Here's my javascript code <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.1/jquery-ui.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/svn/tags/latest/external/jquery.bgiframe-2.1.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.1/i18n/jquery-ui-i18n.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> var theSource = '../RegionsAutoComplete.axd?PID=<%= hidden62.value %>' $(function () { $('#<%= txt63.ClientID %>').autocomplete({ source: theSource, minLength: 2, select: function (event, ui) { $('#<%= hidden63.ClientID %>').val(ui.item.id); } }); }); and here is my HTTP Handler Namespace BT.Handlers Public Class RegionsAutoComplete : Implements IHttpHandler Public ReadOnly Property IsReusable() As Boolean Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler.IsReusable Get Return False End Get End Property Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As System.Web.HttpContext) Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest 'the page contenttype is plain text context.Response.ContentType = "application/json" context.Response.ContentEncoding = Encoding.UTF8 'set page caching context.Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Now.AddHours(24)) context.Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.Public) context.Response.Cache.SetSlidingExpiration(True) context.Response.Cache.VaryByParams("PID") = True Try ' use the RegionsDataContext Using RegionDC As New DAL.RegionsDataContext ' query the database based on the querysting PID Dim q = (From r In RegionDC.bt_Regions _ Where r.PID = context.Request.QueryString("PID") _ Select r.Region, r.ID) ' now we loop through the array ' and write out the ressults Dim sb As New StringBuilder sb.Append("{") For Each item In q sb.Append("""" & item.Region & """: """ & item.ID & """,") Next sb.Append("}") context.Response.Write(sb.ToString) End Using Catch ex As Exception HealthMonitor.Log(ex, False, "This error occurred while populating the autocomplete handler") End Try End Sub End Class End Namespace The rest of my ASPX page has the appropriate controls as I had this working with the old version of the jQuery library. I'm trying to get it working with the new one because I heard that the "dev" CDN was going to be obsolete. Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.

  • Ajax call not working...

    - by Probocop
    Hi, I have a form that submits to a PHP script with Jquery and Ajax. The PHP script returns some XML. For some reason the Ajax success function is not firing, and the error ones is. Can anybody see where I'm going wrong? My Jquery is as follows $('#submit-excuse').submit(function (event) { event.preventDefault(); ws_url = 'http://jacamo.epiphanydev2.co.uk/content/inc/excuse-submit.php?excuse='+$('input#excuse').val(); $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: ws_url, dataType: "xml", beforeSend: function() { $('p#response').text('Sending.'); }, success: function(xmlIn) { results = xmlIn.getElementsByTagName("ReportID"); }, error: function() { $('p#response').text('Error.'); } }); }); And my PHP script is as follows: $excuse = $_GET['excuse']; $badwords = array ( 'one', 'two', 'three', 'four', 'five' ); if ($excuse == '') { $error = 'enter something'; } else { foreach ($badwords as $word) { $pos = strpos($excuse, $word); if($pos !== false) { $passed = false; } } if ($passed !== false) { $username = 'xxxxx'; $password = 'xxxxx'; $message = $excuse; $url = 'http://twitter.com/statuses/update.xml'; $curl_handle = curl_init(); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_URL, "$url"); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, 2); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "status=$message"); curl_setopt($curl_handle, CURLOPT_USERPWD, "$username:$password"); $buffer = curl_exec($curl_handle); curl_close($curl_handle); $passed = 'yes'; } echo "<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>\n"; echo "\t<result>\n"; echo "\t\t<passed>" . $passed . "</passed>\n"; echo "\t</result>"; } Thanks

  • jQuery: Giving each matched element an unique ID

    - by AnGafraidh
    I am writing an 'inline translator' application to be used with a cloud computing platform to extend non-supported languages. The majority of this uses jQuery to find the text value, replace it with the translation, then append the element with a span tag that has an unique ID, to be used elsewhere within the application. The problem arises however, when there are more than one element, say , that have the exact same value to be translated (matched elements). What happens in the function in question is that it puts all matched elements in the same span, taking the second, third, fourth, etc. out of their parent tags. My code is pretty much like this example: <script src='jquery-1.4.2.js'></script> <script> jQuery.noConflict(); var uniqueID='asdfjkl'; jQuery(window).ready(function() { var myQ1 = jQuery("input[id~=test1]"); myClone=myQ1.clone(); myClone.val('Replaced this button'); myQ1.replaceWith('<span id='+uniqueID+'></span>'); jQuery('#'+uniqueID).append(myClone); }); </script> <table> <tr><td> <input id='test1' type='button' value="I'm a button!"></input> &nbsp; <input id='test2' type='button' value="And so am I"></input> </tr></td> <tr><td> <input id='test1' type='button' value="I'm a button!"></input> </tr></td> </table> As a workaround, I've experimented with using a loop to create a class for each span, rising in increment until jQuery("input[id~=test1]").length, but I can't seem to get anything I do to work. Is there any way to give each matched element an unique ID? My fluency in jQuery is being put to the test! Thanks for any help in advance. Aaron

  • jQuery - Show field based on value of a type-hidden on refresh.

    - by Sebhael
    Hello, I'm trying to create something in jQuery and having a bit of problems with it. I'm not too adept on the framework, so I'm sure this is all wrong. Anyways, the ultimate goal is a full form that contains 3 radio buttons - depending on the value of the button, a LI is shown. I have all of that done, but my problem is coming with validation. If something fails then the page is reloaded and the div that was selected doesn't show without clicking another radio first, then back to the original. This process is basically the same as someone came up with here. Here's what I got so far. HTML <li> <label> License (radio) </label> <label for="commercial" class="checkBox"> Commercial </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="commercial" id="commercial" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'commercial'); ?> /> <label for="abandonware" class="checkBox"> Abandonware </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="abandonware" id="abandonware" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'abandonware'); ?> /> <label for="freeware" class="checkBox"> Freeware </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="freeware" id="freeware" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'freeware'); ?> /> </li> This is followed by three LI's that contain id="commercial, abandonware, and freeware" and class="licenseli" My jQuery is, as said, something from here. $('li.licenseli').hide(); $('input[name=license]:radio').change(function(){ var Type = $(this).val(); // Get value of radio $('li.licenseli').slideUp(); // Hide non-selected $('li#'+Type).slideDown(); // Show Selected }); So what I need help with is I have a hidden input that retrieves the value of the radio box from validation - I want to take this value (or the radio's if possible?) and have the original selected option's LI already visible.

  • Changing the title of jQuery-UI dialog-box with in another dialog-box's function...

    - by Brian Ojeda
    Why doesn't doesn't the second jQuery-UI dialog box title change when popped. The first dialog box I change the title of the box with using the following .attr("title", "Confirm") -- it change the title of the first box to 'Confirm', like it should have. Now when the second box pops up it should change the title to 'Message' since did the same thing for the second box -- .attr("title", "Message"). Right? But it doesnt. It keep the title from before. However, the message change like it should have. I have tested in IE8, Chrome, and FF3.6. <div id="dialog-confirm" title=""></div> <-- This is the html before jQuery functions. Javascript / jQuery $('#userDelete').click(function() { $(function() { var dialogIcon = "<span class=\"ui-icon ui-icon-alert\"></span>"; var dialogMessage = dialogIcon + "Are you sure you want to delete?"; $("#dialog-confirm").attr("title", "Confirm").html(dialogMessage).dialog({ resizable: false, height: 125, width: 300, modal: true, buttons: { 'Delete': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); $.post('user_ajax.php', {action: 'delete', aId: $('[name=aId]').val() }, function(data) { if(data.success){ var dialogIcon = "<span class=\"ui-icon ui-icon-info\"></span>"; var dialogMessage = dialogIcon + data.message; $('#dialog-confirm').attr("title", "Message"); $('#dialog-confirm').html(dialogMessage); $('#dialog-confirm').dialog({ resizable: false, height: 125, width: 300, modal: true, buttons: { 'Okay': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); var url = $_httpaddress + "admin/index.php" $(location).attr('href',url); } // End of Okay Button Function } //--- End of Dialog Button Script });//--- End of Dialog Function } else { $_messageConsole.slideDown(); $_messageConsole.html(data.message); } }, 'json'); }, //--- End of Delete Button Function 'Cancel': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } //--- End of Cancel Button Function } //--- End of Dialog Button Script }); //--- End of Dialog Script }); //--- End of Dialog Function return false; }); Thank you for you assistant, if you choose to help.

  • jquery - targetting a select using $this

    - by Maureen
    I am trying to get individual selects (which have the same class as other selects) to respond to a .change function, however it only works on one of the selects. If you test out this code it will make more sense. Try to add a few "ON/OFF events", and then select "Specified Time" in the various selects. You'll see only the first one responds. Any ideas? Thanks! Please see the following code: $(document).ready(function() { var neweventstring = '<div class="event">Turns <select name="ONOFF"><option value="On">ON</option><option value="Off">OFF</option></select> at: <select name="setto" class="setto"><option>Select Time</option><option value="Sunrise">Sunrise</option><option value="Sunset">Sunset</option><option value="specifiedtime">Specified Time</option></select></div>'; $('#addmondaysevent').click(function () { $('#monday .events').append(neweventstring); }); $('.setto').change(function() { alert('The function is called'); if($("option:selected", this).val() =="specifiedtime"){ alert('If returns true'); $(this).css("background-color", "#cc0000"); $(this).after('<div class="specifictime"><input type="text" value="00" style="width:30px"/> : <input type="text" value="00" style="width:30px"> <select name="ampm"><option value="AM" selected>AM</option><option value="PM">PM</option></select></div>') } }); }); And my HTML: <div id="monday"> <h2>Mondays</h2> <div class="events"> <div class="event"> Turn <select name="ONOFF"> <option value="On">ON</option> <option value="Off">OFF</option> </select> at: <select name="setto" class="setto"> <option>Select Time</option> <option value="Sunrise">Sunrise</option> <option value="Sunset">Sunset</option> <option value="specifiedtime">Specified Time</option> </select> </div> [<a id="addmondaysevent">Add an ON/OFF event</a>] </div> </div>

  • jQuery function execute on Button Click and Enter/Return (key)

    - by Alvin Jones
    I'm trying to create a little search box that allows you to search Twitter based on the keyword you enter in the input field. While it's work, it only works if you press the Submit button. I would also like to be able to press the Enter or Return key to initiate the search. I've tried using the .sumbit function and wrapping my input around a form element with no success. Any insight would be greatly appreciate! Live example: http://tinyurl.com/84axyym <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ function(data) { $('#startSearch').click(function(){ $('#tweets .results').remove(); var searchTerm = 'http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=' + $('#twitterSearch').val() + '&callback=?' $.getJSON(searchTerm, function(data) { $.each(data.results, function() { $('<div class="results"></div>') .hide() .append('<a class="userPicLink" href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + '<img class="userImg" src="' + this.profile_image_url + '">' + '</a>') .append('<span class="userName">' + '<a href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + this.from_user + '</span>') .append('<span class="userText">' + this.text + '</span>') .append('<time class="textTime">' + relTime(this.created_at) + '</time>') .appendTo('#tweets') .fadeIn(); }); }); </script> <body> <label id="searchLabel" for="twitterSearch">Search</label> <input type="search" list="searchSugg" id="twitterSearch" placeholder="css3 animation" required aria-required="true"> <input id="startSearch" type="submit"> <datalist id="searchSugg"> <option value="css3 mulitple backgrounds"> <option value="html5 video"> <option value="responsive web design"> <option value="twitter api"> </datalist> <div id="tweets"> </div> </body>

  • Jquery Autocomplete after space press

Any help would be great, thanks.

  • Ajax progress with PHP session

    - by FFish
    I have an app that processes images and use jQuery to display progress to the user. I done this with writing to a textfile each time and image is processed and than read this status with a setInterval. Because no images are actually written in the processing (I do it in PHP's memory) I thought a log.txt would be a solution, but I am not sure about all the fopen and fread's. Is this prone to issues? I tried also with PHP sessions, but can't seem to get it to work, I don't get why.. HTML: <a class="download" href="#">request download</a> <p class="message"></p> JS: $('a.download').click(function() { var queryData = {images : ["001.jpg", "002.jpg", "003.jpg"]}; $("p.message").html("initializing..."); var progressCheck = function() { $.get("dynamic-session-progress.php", function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); } ); }; $.post('dynamic-session-process.php', queryData, function(intvalId) { return function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); clearInterval(intvalId); } } (setInterval(progressCheck, 1000)) ); return false; }); process.php: // session_start(); $arr = $_POST['images']; $arr_cnt = count($arr); $filename = "log.txt"; for ($i = 1; $i <= $arr_cnt; $i++) { $content = "processing $val ($i/$arr_cnt)"; $handle = fopen($filename, 'w'); fwrite($handle, $content); fclose($handle); // $_SESSION['counter'] = $content; sleep(3); // to mimic image processing } echo "<a href='#'>download zip</a>"; progress.php: // session_start(); $filename = "log.txt"; $handle = fopen($filename, "r"); $contents = fread($handle, filesize($filename)); fclose($handle); echo $contents; // echo $_SESSION['counter'];

  • How do I force a Coldfusion cfc to output numeric data over JSON as a string?

    - by Dan Sorensen
    I'm calling a Coldfusion component (cfc) using jQuery.post(). I need an integer or string representation of the number returned for use in a URL. {"PAGE":"My Page Title","ID":19382} or {"PAGE":"My Page Title","ID":"19382"} Instead what I get back is a decimal: {"PAGE":"My Page Title","ID":19382.0} Needed to update the following HTML: <a href="page.cfm?id=19382" id="pagelink">My Page Title</a> Conceptually, I suppose there are multiple answers: 1) I could use jQuery to grab the number left of the decimal point. 2) I could force Coldfusion to send the number as a string. 3) I could generate the whole link server side and just replace the whole link tag HTML (not the preferred answer, but maybe it is the best) Does anyone know how to do 1 or 2? Is 3 better? Relevant Javascript: (Not optimized) $(".link").live('click', function () { var $linkID, serviceUrl; serviceUrl = "mycfc.cfc?method=getPage"; $linkID = $(this).attr("rel"); $.post(serviceUrl, { linkid: $linkID }, function (result) { $('#pagelink').val(result.TITLE); if (result.FMKEY.length) { // NEED the ID number WITHOUT the .0 at the end $('#pagelink').attr("href") = "page.cfm?id=" + result.ID; $('#pagelink').text(result.TITLE); } }, "json"); }); My CFC: <component output="no"> <cfsetting showdebugoutput="no"> <cffunction name="getPage" access="remote" returnFormat="JSON" output="no" hint="Looks up a Page Title and ID"> <cfargument name="linkID" type="string" required="yes"> <cfset var page = queryNew("id,title")> <cfset var result = structNew()> <cfquery datasource="myDatasource" name="page"> SELECT TOP 1 id, title FROM pages WHERE linkID = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#arguments.linkID#"> </cfquery> <cfif page.recordcount> <cfset result.id = page.id> <cfset result.title = page.title> </cfif> <cfreturn result> </cffunction> </component>

  • How to pass some data to JQuery AJAX in CAKEPHP

    - by kwokwai
    Hi all, I am learning how to use JQuery to help check data availability. To start with it, I wrote a few lines of codes using cakePHP. I have written a function in a Controller for checking data input, and the URL is like this: http://www.mywebsite.com/controllers/action/avariable I was trying to pass the value in a Input TextBox field using the JQuery Ajax to the URL above,but I don't know why it is not working in passing a variable to the Controller's action. Could you help me out please? <Script language="javascript"> //<!-- $(document).ready(function(){ $(document).change(function() { var usr = $("#data\\[User\\]\\[name\\]").val(); if(usr.length >= 3){ $("#username").append('<span><img align="absmiddle" src="loader.gif" />Checking</span>'); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.mywebsite.com/controllers/action/", data: usr, success: function(msg){ if(msg == 'OK') { $("#username").append('<span><img align="absmiddle" src="accepted.png"/></span>'); } else { $("#username").append('<span>'+msg+'</span>'); } } }); } else { $("#username").append('<span>The username should have at least 3 characters.</span>'); } }); }); //--> </Script> <form name="adduser" id="adduser" method="post" action="/controllers/action2"> <table border=0 width="100%"> <tr> <td>Username</td> <td> <div id="username"> <input type=text name="data[User][name]" id="data[User][name]"> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <input type="submit" value="Send"> </td> </tr> </table> </form>

  • Is this the correct way to build a Perl hash that utilizes arrays?

    - by Structure
    This is the first time I have manipulated hashes and arrays in this way -- and it is working. Basically, for every key there are multiple values that I want to record and then print out in the form "key -- value -- value -- val..." My code is as follows. I am surprised that it works, so concerned that it works "by mistake". Is this the correct way to accomplish this task, or is there a more efficient or appropriate method? while ($source =~ m/(regex)/g) { #Get all key names from source $listkey = $1; #Set current list key to the current regex result. $list{$listkey} = ++$i unless $list{$listkey}; #Add the key to the hash unless it already exists. $list{$listkey} = [] unless exists $list{$listkey}; #Add an array for the hash unless the hash already exists. while ($loopcount==0) { if ($ifcount==0) { $listvalue=result_of_some_function_using_list_key; #Get the first list value from the list key. $ifcount++; #Increment so we only get the first list value once. } else { $listvalue=result_of_some_function_using_list_value; #Update the last list value. } if ($listvalue) { #If the function returned a value... push @{$list{$listkey}}, $listvalue; #...then add the value to the hash array for the key. } else { #There are no more values and we need a new key. $listkey=0; #Reset variable. $domain=0; #Reset variable. $loopcount++; #Increment loop counter to exit loop. } } $ifcount=0; #Reset count variable so the next listvalue can be generated from the new key. $loopcount=0; #Reset count variable so another loop can begin for a new key. } foreach $listkey (keys %list) { #For each key in the hash. print "$listkey --> "; #Print the key. @values = @{$list{$listkey}}; #Reference the arrays of the hash. print join ' --> ', @values; #Print the values. print "\n"; #Print new line. }

  • Correct use of a "for...in" loop in javascript?

    - by jnkrois
    Hello everybody, before I ask my question I wanted to let everybody know that I appreciate the fact that there's always somebody out there willing to help, and on my end I'll try to give back to the community as much as I can. Thanks Now, I would like to get some pointers as to how to properly take advantage of the "for...in" loop in JavaScript, I already did some research and tried a couple things but it is still not clear to me how to properly use it. Let's say I have a random number of "select" tags in an HTML form, and I don't require the user to select an option for all of them, they can leave some untouched if they want. However I need to know if they selected none or at least one. The way I'm trying to find out if the user selected any of them is by using the "for...in" loop. For example: var allSelected = $("select option:selected"); var totalSelected = $("select option:selected").length; The first variable produces an array of all the selected options. The second variable tells me how many selected options I have in the form (select tags could be more than one and it changes every time). Now, in order to see if any has been selected I loop through each element (selected option), and retrieve the "value" attribute. The default "option" tag has a value="0", so if any selected option returns a value greater than 0, I know at least one option has been selected, however it does not have to be in order, this is my loop so far: for(var i = 0; i < totalSelected; i++){ var eachOption = $(allSelected[i]).val(); var defaultValue = 0; if(eachOption == defaultValue){ ...redirect to another page }else if(eachOption > defaultValue){ ... I display an alert } } My problem here is that as soon as the "if" matches a 0 value, it sends the user to the next page without testing the rest of the elements in the array, and the user could have selected the second or third options. What I really want to do is check all the elements in the array and then take the next action, in my mind this is how I could do it, but I'm not getting it right: var randomValue = 25; for(randomValue in allSelected){ var found = true; var notFound = false if(found){ display an alert }else{ redirect to next page } } This loop or the logic I'm using are flawed (I'm pretty sure), what I want to do is test all the elements in the array against a single variable and take the next action accordingly. I hope this makes some sense to you guys, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JC

  • Jquery ajax using asp.net does not work on IE9 during the 2nd call of the function?

    - by randelramirez1
    I have gridview that is loaded from another aspx page after an ajax call, the problem is it works on chrome/firefox/safari but using ie9 the ajax call would work fine during the first call but when i try to call the function again it throws an 304 status on the network tab of ie9 dev tool and the gridview is not refreshed. Here is the jquery code: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="LoadCoursesGridViewHere.aspx.cs" Inherits="CoursesGridView" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script src="Scripts/jquery-1.8.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div id="Gridview-container"> <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server"> </asp:GridView> </div> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" ViewStateMode="Disabled"></asp:TextBox> <%-- <asp:Button Text="text" ID="btn" OnClientClick=" __doPostBack('UpdatePanel1', '')" runat="server" />--%> <input type="button" id="btn" value="insert"/> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> $("#btn").click(function () { var a = $("#TextBox1").val(); $.ajax({ url: 'WebService.asmx/insert', data: "{ 'name': '" + a + "' }", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", type: "POST", success: function () { // alert('insert was performed.'); $("#Gridview-container").empty(); $("#Gridview-container").load("GridViewCourses.aspx #GridView1"); } }); }); </script> </body> </html> What happen is that after click the button it will insert the textbox value in the database through the webservice 'insert' and then reload the gridview that is placed inside a different aspx page. The problem is that when I ran it on IE9 during the 1st insert everything works properly but the succeeding inserts does reload the gridview and I noticed that it says '304' on the network tab of ie9 dev tool.

  • Change xml attribute in foreach statement c#

    - by user1913479
    I need to save XML-attribute value in a database, using information if checkbox is checked. If checkbox is checked, the attribute value is "TRUE", otherwise it's false. When I use foreach statement, the last enumerated value is usually assigned. Here is the part of my code: XmlAttribute xmlAttribute = xmlDoc.CreateAttribute("BooleanValue"); foreach (string value in list) //list is a List<object> { XmlNode xmlNode = xmlDoc.CreateNode(XmlNodeType.Element, "VALUE", ""); if (checkBox1.Checked || checkBox2.Checked || checkBox3.Checked) xmlAttribute.Value = "TRUE"; if (!checkBox1.Checked || !checkBox2.Checked || !checkBox3.Checked) xmlAttribute.Value = "FALSE"; xmlNode.Attributes.Append(xmlAttribute); xmlNode.InnerText = val; childNode.AppendChild(xmlNode); } When I run my application, I get an XML attribute xmlAttribute "FALSE" value anyway. What I need to have: I need to have the following XML: <ROOT><NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 1</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 2</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 3</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 4</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 5</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 6</VALUE></NODE> </ROOT> What I actually get: <ROOT><NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 1</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 2</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 3</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 4</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 5</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 6</VALUE></NODE> </ROOT> Because in C# FALSE value is stayed at last position in foreach loop The question is: how do I do to assign the correct values of my attribute. Thanks

  • jquery adding required to a dropdownbox [SOLVED]

    - by Crays
    Hi i would like to know how do i add a required attribute to a dropdownbox? I've search numerous ways but none worked, here's my code <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.orderingmenu .burgers').change(function(){ var selectVal= $(this).val(); if(selectVal != 'none'){ $(this).next().attr('required', true); } }); }); </script> i am really out of idea on how to do this, i tested the selectors and they're working fine, but it just doesn't seem to add in the required attribute to that select field =/ any help please? what i have tried is $(this).next().prop('required', true); $(this).next().attr('required', 'true'); $(this).next().attr('required', ''); $(this).next().prop('required'); none have worked =/ EDIT the HTML <div class="orderingmenu" style="margin-bottom: 0.5%;"> <select name="burgerlist" class="burgers" style="width: 35%; float: left; font-size: 12px;"> <option selected="selected" value="none">NONE</option> <option value="A">A</option> </select> <select name="option" id="option" class="setornot" style="width: 30%; font-size: 12px;"> <option selected="selected" value="none">NONE</option> <option value="ALA CARTE">ALA CARTE</option> <option value="SET">SET</option> </select> <input type="text" placeholder="ANY REMARKS?" name="remarks" style="width: 30%; float: right; font-size: 12px;"> </div> i had it looped with a php script, but basically what i wanted to do is so that if there is any selection other than 'none', the other selection is required. EDIT 2 found out the problem was that i had the value for none!

  • Django Custom Field: Only run to_python() on values from DB?

    - by Adam Levy
    How can I ensure that my custom field's *to_python()* method is only called when the data in the field has been loaded from the DB? I'm trying to use a Custom Field to handle the Base64 Encoding/Decoding of a single model property. Everything appeared to be working correctly until I instantiated a new instance of the model and set this property with its plaintext value...at that point, Django tried to decode the field but failed because it was plaintext. The allure of the Custom Field implementation was that I thought I could handle 100% of the encoding/decoding logic there, so that no other part of my code ever needed to know about it. What am I doing wrong? (NOTE: This is just an example to illustrate my problem, I don't need advice on how I should or should not be using Base64 Encoding) def encode(value): return base64.b64encode(value) def decode(value): return base64.b64decode(value) class EncodedField(models.CharField): __metaclass__ = models.SubfieldBase def __init__(self, max_length, *args, **kwargs): super(EncodedField, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) def get_prep_value(self, value): return encode(value) def to_python(self, value): return decode(value) class Person(models.Model): internal_id = EncodedField(max_length=32) ...and it breaks when I do this in the interactive shell. Why is it calling to_python() here? >>> from myapp.models import * >>> Person(internal_id="foo") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<console>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 330, in __init__ setattr(self, field.attname, val) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/db/models/fields/subclassing.py", line 98, in __set__ obj.__dict__[self.field.name] = self.field.to_python(value) File "../myapp/models.py", line 87, in to_python return decode(value) File "../myapp/models.py", line 74, in decode return base64.b64decode(value) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/base64.py", line 76, in b64decode raise TypeError(msg) TypeError: Incorrect padding I had expected I would be able to do something like this... >>> from myapp.models import * >>> obj = Person(internal_id="foo") >>> obj.internal_id 'foo' >>> obj.save() >>> newObj = Person.objects.get(internal_id="foo") >>> newObj.internal_id 'foo' >>> newObj.internal_id = "bar" >>> newObj.internal_id 'bar' >>> newObj.save() ...what am I doing wrong?

  • How to submit the correct div elements (not the div that's hidden)?

    - by user356651
    Hello, I have the following code working fine but the problem is that it always submits the first div (article) even though it's hidden. My question is how do I submit the form and the elements in the form in the div that's shown? (if I select Music radiobutton, I want to submit the input elements of the Music Div not the Article div. Thanks. $(document).ready(function(){ $("input[name$='itemlist']").click(function() { var selection = $(this).val(); $("div.box").hide(); $("#"+selection).show(); }); }); <!--radio buttons--> <div id="articleselection"><input name="itemlist" type="radio" value="article" /> Article/Book </div> <div id="musicselection"><input name="itemlist" type="radio" value="music" /> Music</div> <!--article div starts--> <div id="article" class="box"> <table class="fieldgroup"> <tr><td>Journal Title: <input id="JournalTitle" name="JournalTitle" type="text" size="60" class="f-name" tabindex="1" value="JournalTitle"> </table> <table class="fieldgroup"> <tr><td>Article Author: <input id="ArticleAuthor" name="ArticleAuthor" type="text" size="40" class="f-name" tabindex="2" value="<"ArticleAuthor"></td></tr> </table> </div> <!--music div starts--> <div id="music" class="box"> <table class="fieldgroup"> <tr><td>Music Title: <input id="Music Title" name="Music Title" type="text" size="60" class="f-name" tabindex="1" value="Music Title"> </table> <table class="fieldgroup"> <tr><td> Music Author: <input id="MusicAuthor" name="Music Author" type="text" size="40" class="f-name" tabindex="2" value="<"MusicAuthor"></td></tr> </table> </div>

  • JS Split ( ) to check if substring exists in Array

    - by Javacadabra
    I have an array of products that are stored as Strings in this format productname:quantity. The issue I am running into is that if a user adds one product with a quantity of x it is inserted into the array as it should. However, if they then decide to add more of a particular product a new entry is made into the array instead of checking if the product already exists and adjusting the quantity to the new value. oldQty + newQty. For example this is my array: ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:1"] If I add another PALLET CARDS product it creates a new entry rather than updating the quantity of the existing item to 2. New array ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:1","PALLET CARDS:1"] I would like the array to end up like this: - updating the quantity ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:2"] Currently this is my code: I use the split() method to seperate the String where a colon occurs and store the product name and quantity in two seperate variables. $(".orderBtn").click(function(event){ //Show the order Box $(".order-alert").show(); event.preventDefault(); //Create the Array var productArray = []; //Get reference to the product clicked var stockCode = $(this).closest('li').find('.stock_code').html(); //Get reference to the quantity selected var quantity = $(this).closest('li').find('.order_amount').val(); var item = stockCode + ":" + quantity; var itemCheck = stockCode + ":"; if(quantity == 0){ console.log("Quantity must be greater than 0") }else{ //If no Cookie exists, create one and add the Array if ($.cookie('order_cookie') === undefined) { console.log("CREATE NEW COOKIE"); //Add items to Array productArray.push(item); //Add Array to Cookie $.cookie('order_cookie', JSON.stringify(productArray), { expires: 1, path: '/' }); //If the Cookie already exists do this } else { productArray = JSON.parse($.cookie('order_cookie'));//get ref to array if(productArray.indexOf(itemCheck)!= -1){//It exists so update qty console.log("EXISTS... updating item: " + itemCheck); //var index = productArray.indexOf(item); //var update = productArray[index].split(":"); //var name = update[0]; //var oldQty = update[1]; //console.log(name + ":" + oldQty); //productArray[index] = item; }else{//It does not exist, so add to array console.log("Does not exist... adding new item: " + item); //Append items onto the Array productArray.push(item); } //Update the Cookie $.cookie('order_cookie', JSON.stringify(productArray), { expires: 1, path: '/' }); console.log($.cookie('order_cookie')); } //Display the number of items in the Array in the Order Box $('#order_counter').html(productArray.length); } }); I suppose the real question I am asking here, is if it is possible to search the array for a subString - containing productname: ??

  • Function to get the font and calculate the width of the string not working on first instance

    - by user3627265
    I'm trying to calculate the width of the string based on the font style and size. The user will provide the string, the font style and the font size, and then after giving all the data the user will hit the submit button and the function will trigger. Basically this script works but only when the submit button is hit twice or the font is selected twice,. I mean if you selec DNBlock as a font, it will not work for first time, but the second time you hit submit, it will then work. I'm not sure where is the problem here, but when I used the default font style like Arial, times new roman etc it works perfectly fine. Any Idea on this? I suspected that the font style is not being rendered by the script or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks //Repeat String String.prototype.repeat = function( num ) { return new Array( num + 1 ).join( this ); } //Calculate the width of string String.prototype.textWidth = function() { var fntStyle = document.getElementById("fntStyle").value; if(fntStyle == "1") { var fs = "DNBlock"; } else if(fntStyle == "2") { var fs = "DNBlockDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "3") { var fs = "DNCursiveClassic"; } else if(fntStyle == "4") { var fs = "DNCursiveDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "5") { var fs = "FoundationCursiveDots-Regul"; } var f = document.getElementById("fntSize").value.concat('px ', fs), o = $('<div>' + this + '</div>') .css({'position': 'absolute', 'float': 'left', 'white-space': 'nowrap', 'visibility': 'hidden', 'font': f}) .appendTo($('body')), w = o.width(); o.remove(); return w; } //Trigger the event $("#handwriting_gen").submit(function () { var rptNO = parseInt($('#rptNO').val()); $("[name='txtLine[]']").each(function(){ alert(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth()); if(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth() > 1000) { $(this).focus(); $(this).css({"background-color":"#f6d9d4"}).siblings('span.errorMsg').text('Text is too long.'); event.preventDefault(); } }); });
