  • Can you reference an entire column in OpenOffice Calc (like A:A in Excel)?

    - by Andy
I'd like to refer to an entire column, like you can in Excel by using A:A. I found a discussion on the openoffice.org forums which is a few years old, and suggests there is/was no neat way to do it. The options presented are Use A1:A65536. Use OFFSET($A$1;0;0;65536;1) as the previous range may get altered if you insert or remove rows. Use Data - Define Range... to name the column range (but which for me still just equates to $A$1:$A$1048576). These approaches seem over-complicated and still don't achieve my goal perfectly. Does anyone know of a way? Thanks, Andy

  • How can I use structured references to a column in an Excel macro?

    - by Eshwar
Here's an example that will explain things: Sheets("Plot Data July").Select ActiveSheet.ListObjects("tPDJuly").Range.AutoFilter Field:=2 ActiveSheet.ListObjects("tPDJuly").Range.AutoFilter Field:=4 So as you can see above, Field:=2 is a relative reference to the second field in the table called "tPDJuly". So now if I add more columns, this number does not get updated. The field is actually called "Grade" in the table. So is there a way of coding this so that no matter which column it is in, "Grade" is always updated? I suppose one solution is that we add a line that find what is the column number for "Grade"?

  • App using MonoTouch Core Graphics mysteriously crashes

    - by Stephen Ashley
My app launches with a view controller and a simple view consisting of a button and a subview. When the user touches the button, the subview is populated with scrollviews that display the column headers, row headers, and cells of a spreadsheet. To draw the cells, I use CGBitmapContext to draw the cells, generate an image, and then put the image into the imageview contained in the scrollview that displays the cells. When I run the app on the iPad, it displays the cells just fine, and the scrollview lets the user scroll around in the spreadsheet without any problems. If the user touches the button a second time, the spreadsheet redraws and continues to work perfectly, If, however, the user touches the button a third time, the app crashes. There is no exception information display in the Application Output window. My first thought was that the successive button pushes were using up all the available memory, so I overrode the DidReceiveMemoryWarning method in the view controller and used a breakpoint to confirm that this method was not getting called. My next thought was that the CGBitmapContext was not getting released and looked for a Monotouch equivalent of Objective C's CGContextRelease() function. The closest I could find was the CGBitmapContext instance method Dispose(), which I called, without solving the problem. In order to free up as much memory as possible (in case I was somehow running out of memory without tripping a warning), I tried forcing garbage collection each time I finished using a CGBitmapContext. This made the problem worse. Now the program would crash moments after displaying the spreadsheet the first time. This caused me to wonder whether the Garbage Collector was somehow collecting something necessary to the continued display of graphics on the screen. I would be grateful for any suggestions on further avenues to investigate for the cause of these crashes. I have included the source code for the SpreadsheetView class. The relevant method is DrawSpreadsheet(), which is called when the button is touched. Thank you for your assistance on this matter. • How to fix width of DIV that contains floated elements?

    - by joe
I have a DIV container with several inner DIVs layed out by floating them all left. The inner DIVs may change width on certain events, and the containing DIV adjusts accordingly. I use float:left in the container to keep it shrunk to the width of the inner divs. I use float:left in the inner divs so the layout is clean even when their contents change. The catch is that I want the DIV container width and height to remain constant, UNLESS a particular event causes a change to the inner widths. Conceptually I want to use float on the inners for the layout benefit, but then I want to "fix" them so they don't float around. So if the container is 700px wide, I want it to remain so even if the user narrows the browser window. I'd like the container, and it's internal DIVs to just be clipped by the browser window. I sense this can all be done nicely in CSS, I just can't quite figure out how. I'm not averse to adding another container if necessary... Since the only desired layout changes are event-based, I am also willing to use a bit of JS. But is this necessary? (And I'm still not sure I know what to modify: container dimensions? inner floatiness? other?) <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> #canvas { overflow:auto; /* for clearing floats */ } #container { float:left; /* so container shrinks around contained divs */ border:thin solid blue; } .inner { float:left; /* so inner elems line up nicely w/o saying fixed coords */ padding-top:8px; padding-bottom:4px; padding-left:80px; padding-right:80px; } #inner1 { background-color:#ffdddd; } #inner2 { background-color:#ddffdd; } #inner3 { background-color:#ddddff; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="canvas"> <div id="container"> <div id="inner1" class="inner"> inner 1 </div> <div id="inner2" class="inner"> inner 2 </div> <div id="inner3" class="inner"> inner 3 </div> </div> </div> cleared element </body> </html>

  • Silverlight: how to modify the width of ListBox Items in response to user input?

    - by sympatric greg
    I have a simple Silverlight 3 UserControl whose width increases or decreases based on user input. The controls become more wide or more narrow as desired, except for the ListBox items. The ListBox Items grow horizontally to fit their content regardless of HorizontalContentAlignment being set to 'Stretch'. Should I be able to set a property on ListBox.ItemContainerStyle to tell it to widen/narrow with the parent ListBox? There needs to be no horizontal scrolling within this Listbox. Or is there a way to specify the ItemTemplate's StackPanel width that can be modified at runtime? I have bound this to a StaticResource, but do not understand whether I should be able to change the resource value. Can I create and bind to a DependencyProperty of the UserControl itself? I have not determined the syntax of this within the xaml. code: <UserControl x:Class="TheAssembly.GraphicViewer" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:userControls="clr-namespace:TheAssembly" xmlns:core="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib"> <UserControl.Resources> <userControls:DictionaryAttributeConverter x:Name="MyDictionaryAttributeConverter" /> <core:Double x:Key="ListItemWidth">155</core:Double> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Width="175" > <Border Style="{StaticResource DraggableWindowBorder}"> <StackPanel x:Name="RootStackPanel" Orientation="Vertical" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <Border Background="Black" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="0"> <TextBlock x:Name="Header" Foreground="White" FontSize="14" TextWrapping="Wrap" Margin="2,0,2,0" Height="25" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Text="{Binding HeaderText}"/> </Border> <TextBlock x:Name="Title" Style="{StaticResource GraphicViewerDetail}" FontSize="12" FontWeight="Medium" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Title}" Margin="3,0,0,0" HorizontalAlignment="Left"/> <ListBox x:Name="AttributeListBox" ItemsSource="{Binding Attributes}" BorderBrush="Red" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch" Foreground="AntiqueWhite" Background="Transparent" IsEnabled="False" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Visible" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Hidden"> <ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="0,-2,0,0"/> </Style> </ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel x:Name="ListBoxItemStackPanel" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Orientation="Vertical" > <TextBlock FontSize="10" Text="{Binding Key}" Foreground="White" FontWeight="Bold" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="2,0,0,0" TextWrapping="Wrap"/> <TextBlock FontSize="10" Text="{Binding Value}" Foreground="White" Margin="6,-2,0,0" TextWrapping="Wrap" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </StackPanel> </Border> </Grid>

  • How do I insert a row with a TimeUUIDType column in Cassandra?

    - by mixmasteralan
In Cassandra, I have the following Column Family: <ColumnFamily CompareWith="TimeUUIDType" Name="Posts"/> I'm trying to insert a record into it as follows using a C++ generated function generated by Thrift: ColumnPath new_col; new_col.__isset.column = true; /* this is required! */ new_col.column_family.assign("Posts"); new_col.super_column.assign(""); new_col.column.assign("1968ec4a-2a73-11df-9aca-00012e27a270"); client.insert("Keyspace1", "somekey", new_col, "Random Value", 1234, ONE); However, I'm getting the following error: "UUIDs must be exactly 16 bytes" I've even tried the Cassandra CLI with the following command: set Keyspace1.Posts['somekey']['1968ec4a-2a73-11df-9aca-00012e27a270'] = 'Random Value' but I still get the following error: Exception null InvalidRequestException(why:UUIDs must be exactly 16 bytes) at org.apache.cassandra.thrift.Cassandra$insert_result.read(Cassandra.java:11994) at org.apache.cassandra.thrift.Cassandra$Client.recv_insert(Cassandra.java:659) at org.apache.cassandra.thrift.Cassandra$Client.insert(Cassandra.java:632) at org.apache.cassandra.cli.CliClient.executeSet(CliClient.java:420) at org.apache.cassandra.cli.CliClient.executeCLIStmt(CliClient.java:80) at org.apache.cassandra.cli.CliMain.processCLIStmt(CliMain.java:132) at org.apache.cassandra.cli.CliMain.main(CliMain.java:173)

  • Pure Server-Side Filtering with RadGridView and WCF RIA Services

Those of you who are familiar with WCF RIA Services know that the DomainDataSource control provides a FilterDescriptors collection that enables you to filter data returned by the query on the server. We have been using this DomainDataSource feature in our RIA Services with DomainDataSource online example for almost an year now. In the example, we are listening for RadGridViews Filtering event in order to intercept any filtering that is performed on the client and translate it to something that the DomainDataSource will understand, in this case a System.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor being added or removed from its FilterDescriptors collection. Think of RadGridView.FilterDescriptors as client-side filtering and of DomainDataSource.FilterDescriptors as server-side filtering. We no longer need the client-side one. With the introduction of the Custom Filtering Controls feature many new possibilities have opened. With these custom controls we no longer need to do any filtering on the client. I have prepared a very small project that demonstrates how to filter solely on the server by using a custom filtering control. As I have already mentioned filtering on the server is done through the FilterDescriptors collection of the DomainDataSource control. This collection holds instances of type System.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor. The FilterDescriptor has three important properties: PropertyPath: Specifies the name of the property that we want to filter on (the left operand). Operator: Specifies the type of comparison to use when filtering. An instance of FilterOperator Enumeration. Value: The value to compare with (the right operand). An instance of the Parameter Class. By adding filters, you can specify that only entities which meet the condition in the filter are loaded from the domain context. In case you are not familiar with these concepts you might find Brad Abrams blog interesting. Now, our requirements are to create some kind of UI that will manipulate the DomainDataSource.FilterDescriptors collection. When it comes to collections, my first choice of course would be RadGridView. If you are not familiar with the Custom Filtering Controls concept I would strongly recommend getting acquainted with my step-by-step tutorial Custom Filtering with RadGridView for Silverlight and checking the online example out. I have created a simple custom filtering control that contains a RadGridView and several buttons. This control is aware of the DomainDataSource instance, since it is operating on its FilterDescriptors collection. In fact, the RadGridView that is inside it is bound to this collection. In order to display filters that are relevant for the current column only, I have applied a filter to the grid. This filter is a Telerik.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor and is used to filter the little grid inside the custom control. It should not be confused with the DomainDataSource.FilterDescriptors collection that RadGridView is actually bound to. These are the RIA filters. Additionally, I have added several other features. For example, if you have specified a DataFormatString on your original column, the Value column inside the custom control will pick it up and format the filter values accordingly. Also, I have transferred the data type of the column that you are filtering to the Value column of the custom control. This will help the little RadGridView determine what kind of editor to show up when you begin edit, for example a date picker for DateTime columns. Finally, I have added four buttons two of them can be used to add or remove filters and the other two will communicate the changes you have made to the server. Here is the full source code of the DomainDataSourceFilteringControl. The XAML: <UserControl x:Class="PureServerSideFiltering.DomainDataSourceFilteringControl"    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"     xmlns:telerikGrid="clr-namespace:Telerik.Windows.Controls;assembly=Telerik.Windows.Controls.GridView"     xmlns:telerik="clr-namespace:Telerik.Windows.Controls;assembly=Telerik.Windows.Controls"     Width="300">     <Border x:Name="LayoutRoot"             BorderThickness="1"             BorderBrush="#FF8A929E"             Padding="5"             Background="#FFDFE2E5">           <Grid>             <Grid.RowDefinitions>                 <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>                 <RowDefinition Height="150"/>                 <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>             </Grid.RowDefinitions>               <StackPanel Grid.Row="0"                         Margin="2"                         Orientation="Horizontal"                         HorizontalAlignment="Center">                 <telerik:RadButton Name="addFilterButton"                                   Click="OnAddFilterButtonClick"                                   Content="Add Filter"                                   Margin="2"                                   Width="96"/>                 <telerik:RadButton Name="removeFilterButton"                                   Click="OnRemoveFilterButtonClick"                                   Content="Remove Filter"                                   Margin="2"                                   Width="96"/>             </StackPanel>               <telerikGrid:RadGridView Name="filtersGrid"                                     Grid.Row="1"                                     Margin="2"                                     ItemsSource="{Binding FilterDescriptors}"                                     AddingNewDataItem="OnFilterGridAddingNewDataItem"                                     ColumnWidth="*"                                     ShowGroupPanel="False"                                     AutoGenerateColumns="False"                                     CanUserResizeColumns="False"                                     CanUserReorderColumns="False"                                     CanUserFreezeColumns="False"                                     RowIndicatorVisibility="Collapsed"                                     IsFilteringAllowed="False"                                     CanUserSortColumns="False">                 <telerikGrid:RadGridView.Columns>                     <telerikGrid:GridViewComboBoxColumn DataMemberBinding="{Binding Operator}"                                                         UniqueName="Operator"/>                     <telerikGrid:GridViewDataColumn Header="Value"                                                     DataMemberBinding="{Binding Value.Value}"                                                     UniqueName="Value"/>                 </telerikGrid:RadGridView.Columns>             </telerikGrid:RadGridView>               <StackPanel Grid.Row="2"                         Margin="2"                         Orientation="Horizontal"                         HorizontalAlignment="Center">                 <telerik:RadButton Name="filterButton"                                   Click="OnApplyFiltersButtonClick"                                   Content="Apply Filters"                                   Margin="2"                                   Width="96"/>                 <telerik:RadButton Name="clearButton"                                   Click="OnClearFiltersButtonClick"                                   Content="Clear Filters"                                   Margin="2"                                   Width="96"/>             </StackPanel>           </Grid>       </Border> </UserControl>   And the code-behind: using System; Here is how to do it: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Net; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Animation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using System.Windows.Data; using Telerik.Windows.Data; using Telerik.Windows.Controls; using Telerik.Windows.Controls.GridView;   namespace PureServerSideFiltering {     public partial class MainPage : UserControl     {         public MainPage()         {             InitializeComponent();             this.grid.AutoGeneratingColumn += this.OnGridAutoGeneratingColumn;               // Uncomment this if you want the DomainDataSource to start pre-filtered.             // You will notice how our custom filtering controls will correctly read this information,             // populate their UI with the respective filters and lit-up the funnel to indicate that             // filtering is active. Go ahead and try it.             this.employeesDataSource.FilterDescriptors.Add(new System.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor("Title", System.Windows.Data.FilterOperator.Contains, "Assistant"));             this.employeesDataSource.FilterDescriptors.Add(new System.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor("HireDate", System.Windows.Data.FilterOperator.IsGreaterThan, new DateTime(1998, 12, 31)));             this.employeesDataSource.FilterDescriptors.Add(new System.Windows.Data.FilterDescriptor("HireDate", System.Windows.Data.FilterOperator.IsLessThanOrEqualTo, new DateTime(1999, 12, 31)));               this.employeesDataSource.Load();         }           /// <summary>         /// First of all, we will need to replace the default filtering control         /// of each column with out custom filtering control DomainDataSourceFilteringControl         /// </summary>         private void OnGridAutoGeneratingColumn(object sender, GridViewAutoGeneratingColumnEventArgs e)         {             GridViewBoundColumnBase dataColumn = e.Column as GridViewBoundColumnBase;             if (dataColumn != null)             {                 // We do not like ugly dates.                 if (dataColumn.DataType == typeof(DateTime))                 {                     dataColumn.DataFormatString = "{0:d}"; // Short date pattern.                       // Notice how this format will be later transferred to the Value column                     // of the grid that we have inside the DomainDataSourceFilteringControl.                 }                   // Replace the default filtering control with our.                 dataColumn.FilteringControl = new DomainDataSourceFilteringControl()                 {                     // Let the control know about the DDS, after all it will work directly on it.                     DomainDataSource = this.employeesDataSource                 };                   // Finally, lit-up the filtering funnel through the IsActive dependency property                 // in case there are some filters on the DDS that match our column member.                 string dataMemberName = dataColumn.GetDataMemberName();                 dataColumn.FilteringControl.IsActive =                     this.employeesDataSource.FilterDescriptors                     .Where(fd => fd.PropertyPath == dataMemberName)                     .Count() > 0;             }         }     } } The best part is that we are not only writing filters for the DomainDataSource we can read and load them. If the DomainDataSource has some pre-existing filters (like I have created in the code above), our control will read them and will populate its UI accordingly. Even the filtering funnel will light-up! Remember, the funnel is controlled by the IsActive property of our control. While this is just a basic implementation, the source code is absolutely yours and you can take it from here and extend it to match your specific business requirements. Below the main grid there is another debug grid. With its help you can monitor what filter descriptors are added and removed to the domain data source. Download Source Code. (You will have to have the AdventureWorks sample database installed on the default SQLExpress instance in order to run it.) • Apache FOP - Table top and bottom borders missing pagebreak inside table

    - by Thomas
    I am using Apache FOP to generate a PDF from a XLS FO document. I have created a test XLS FO document that contains a table with collapsed borders that with several tall rows. One of the rows starts on one page and ends on the next and this works as expected. The problem is that the bottom border of the table on the first page is missing and the top border of the table on the second pages is also missing. Below is the sample XLS FO document. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <fo:root xmlns:fo="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <!-- defines the layout master --> <fo:layout-master-set> <fo:simple-page-master master-name="first" page-height="29.7cm" page-width="21cm" margin-top="1cm" margin-bottom="2cm" margin-left="2.5cm" margin-right="2.5cm"> <fo:region-body margin-top="3cm"/> <fo:region-before extent="3cm"/> <fo:region-after extent="1.5cm"/> </fo:simple-page-master> </fo:layout-master-set> <!-- starts actual layout --> <fo:page-sequence master-reference="first"> <fo:title>Sample Doc</fo:title> <fo:flow flow-name="xsl-region-body" font-size="x-small" font="Times New Roman"> <!-- table start --> <fo:table table-layout="fixed" width="100%" border-collapse="collapse"> <fo:table-column column-width="35mm"/> <fo:table-column column-width="100mm"/> <fo:table-column column-width="20mm"/> <fo:table-body> <fo:table-row> <fo:table-cell border-width="0.5mm" border-style="solid"> <fo:block>Column 1</fo:block> </fo:table-cell> <fo:table-cell border-width="0.5mm" border-style="solid"> <fo:block>Columns 2</fo:block> </fo:table-cell> <fo:table-cell border-width="0.5mm" border-style="solid"> <fo:block>Column 3</fo:block> </fo:table-cell> </fo:table-row> <fo:table-row> <fo:table-cell border-width="0.5mm" border-style="solid"> <fo:block>Row 1</fo:block> </fo:table-cell> <fo:table-cell border-width="0.5mm" border-style="solid"> <fo:block>Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.   • How can I hide a database column in the entity model?

    - by Nick Butler
Hi. I'm using the Entity Framework 4 and have a question: I have a password column in my database that I want to manage using custom SQL. So I don't want the model to know anything about it. I've tried deleting the property in the Mapping Details window, but then I got a compilation error: Error 3023: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:Column User.Password in table User must be mapped: It has no default value and is not nullable. So, I made the column nullable in the database and updated the model. Now I get this error: Error 3004: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:No mapping specified for properties User.Password, User.Salt in Set Users. An Entity with Key (PK) will not round-trip when: Entity is type [UserDirectoryModel.User] Any ideas please? Thanks, Nick

  • Is using Natural Join or Implicit column names not a good practice when writing SQL in a programming

    - by Jian Lin
When we use Natural Join, we are joining the tables when both table have the same column names. But what if we write it in PHP and then the DBA add some more fields to both tables, then the Natural Join can break? The same goes for Insert, if we do a insert into gifts values (NULL, "chocolate", "choco.jpg", now()); then it will break the code as well as contaminating the table when the DBA adds some fields to the table (example as column 2 or 3). So it is always best to spell out the column names when the SQL statements are written inside a programming language and stored in a file in a big project.

  • Sorting of table column by string length not working as intended when done in IB via cocoa - binding

    - by Miraaj
Hi all, I made a sample application displaying list of employees with their salaries over NSTableView using NSArrayController. Basic functionality is working as intended. Also sorting is working fine when Selector - compare or caseInsensitiveCompare is assigned in attribute pane for table column- employeeName. Problem occurs when I try to sort it by string length by setting selector in IB as - length, for the table column - employeeName. It does sorting by string length but does it inappropriately. It is doing sorting on alternate clicks ie. on first click it sorts the content in table in descending order by length. Then on second click it does not arrange contents in ascending order by length but sets arrow on top as in ascending. Then on third click it arranges contents in ascending order by length but sets arrow on top of table column as in descending and so on... Can anyone suggest if I am wrong somewhere? Thanks, Miraaj

  • Displaying list of objects as single column in a bound gridview (Winforms)?

    - by Carrie Nelson
I have a gridview that is bound to a datasource on a Windows Form (VB.NET). The grid displays a list of "certifications", and each "certification" can be associated with many languages. So in the grid, I'd like to display "languages" as a column, and display a comma delimited list of the language names for each "certification". In the "certification" class, one of the properties is a list of "language" objects, and each "language" has an ID (guid), name (string), and value (integer). So in the datasource, I have the list of "languages", but I can't figure out how to display them in a column on the grid. The gridview won't let me add the language list property as a column. So is the ONLY way to add a new property on the "certification" class, which returns a string that contains the comma delimited list, and show THAT on the grid? Or is there a way to display that list of "languages"?

  • What is the cost in bytes for the overhead of a sql_variant column in SQL Server?

    - by Elan
I have a table, which contains many columns of float data type with 15 digit precision. Each column consumes 8 bytes of storage. Most of the time the data does not require this amount of precision and could be stored as a real data type. In many cases the value can be 0, in which case I could get away with storing a single byte. My goal here is to optimize space storage requirements, which is an issue I am facing working with a SQL Express 4GB database size limit. If byte, real and float data types are stored in a sql_variant column there is obviously some overhead involved in storing these values. What is the cost of this overhead? I would then need to evaluate whether I would actually end up in significant space savings (or not) switching to using sql_variant column data types. Thanks, Elan

  • SQL Server - Storing multiple decimal values in a column?

    - by cshah
I know storing multiple values in a column. Not a good idea. It violates first normal form --- which states NO multi valued attributes. Normalize period... I am using SQL Server 2005 I have a table that require to store lower limit and uppper limit for a measurement, think of it as a minimum and maximum speed limit... only problem is only 2 % out of hundread i need upper limit. I will only have data for lower limit. I was thinking to store both values in a column (Sparse column introduces in 2008 so not for me) Is there a way...? Not sure about XML..

Psuedo code for mapping configuration (as below) is not possible since the lambda only lets us access Type IDataReader, wheras when actually mapping, AutoMapper will reach into each "cell" of each IDataRecord while IDataReader.Read() == true: var mappingConfig = Mapper.CreateMap<IDataReader, IEnumerable<MyDTO>>(); mappingConfig.ForMember( destination => destination.???, options => options.MapFrom(source => source.???)); Can anyone think of a way to do this using AutoMapper configuration at runtime or just some other dynamic approach that meets the requirement below. The requirement is to support any incoming IDataReader which may have column names that don't match the property names of MyDTO and there is no naming convention I can rely on. Instead we'll ask the user at runtime to cross-reference the expected column names with the actual column names found in the IDataReader via IDataReader.GetSchemaTable().

hi there <property name="batchCreatedDate" type="java.util.Date"> <meta attribute="field-description">batch create date</meta> <column name="BATCH_CREATED_DATE" length="7" not-null="true" /> </property> table column type is BATCH_CREATED_DATE DATE NOT NULL With the data in that date column being similar to this '2010-05-13 14:56:36.0' now I want to search for all items within the 24 hours of 2010-05-13, currently my call only returns all items with date "2010-05-13 14:56:36.0" exactly. What would my HQL statement look like to hand this kind of scenario? Thank you so much

  • How to column-ify an output from a certain program?

    - by mbaitoff
    I have a program that generates and outputs a sequence of simple sample math homework tasks, like: 1 + 1 = ... 3 + 3 = ... 2 + 5 = ... 3 + 7 = ... 4 + 2 = ... a sequence can be quite long, and I'd like to save space when this sequence is printed by converting it as follows: 1 + 1 = ... 3 + 7 = ... 3 + 3 = ... 4 + 2 = ... 2 + 5 = ... that is, wrapping the lines into the two or more columns. I was expecting the column linux utility to do the job using the -c N option witn N=2, however, it still outputs the lines in one column whatever the N is. How would I do the column-ifying of the sequence of lines?

  • Can't fill a column of NULLs with actual values by making an association to the proper values in the

    - by UkraineTrain
I have a table with separate columns for months, days and a varchar column for 6 hour increments for each day ('12AM', '6AM', '12PM', '6PM'). There's also a column that's supposed to have calculated numeric values for each of those 6 hour increments. These calculated values come from some reference table. This reference table contains values for each day for several months broken down by hour where each hour has its own column. So, basically, I have to add the values for each 6 hour increment. I have no idea how to associate the correct values in the reference table to those 6 hour increments. I will really appreciate any help on this.

  • Can I prevent a computed column from changing it's value if the formula changes?

    - by William Hurst
I have a computed column in MS SQL 2005 that does some VAT calculations. The website uses invoices that can only be generated once and rely on the value in the computed column to work out the VAT. Unfortunately, a bug was found that means that the the VAT value calculated was off by a few cents. Not a huge problem but we can't change the values from all the previously computed values as these need to be honoured on the invoices. tldr; How do I change the calculation for a computed column without re-calculating the values that have already be calculated?

  • Magento - How can I move the Navigation Block to be in the right column?

    - by Hank
I've been editing Magento's default CSS to change the look and have come to a point where I want to move around some content blocks. I've killed off the left column through CSS .col-left { display: none; } And then increased the width of the main content part to create a 'two column layout'. What I want to do now is move the navigation for the categories into the right column. I just have no idea how... How do I move content blocks around in Magento? :/

  • Why Hibernates ignores the name attribute of the @Column annotation?

    - by svachon
Using Hibernate 3.3.1 and Hibernate Annotations 3.4, the database is DB2/400 V6R1, running that on WebSphere 7.0.0.9 I have the following class @Entity public class Ciinvhd implements Serializable { @Id private String ihinse; @Id @Column(name="IHINV#") private BigDecimal ihinv; .... } For reasons I can't figure, Hibernate ignores the specified column name and uses 'ihinv' to generate the SQL: select ciinvhd0_.ihinse as ihinse13_, ciinvhd0_.ihinv as ihinv13_, ... Which of course gives me the following error: Column IHINV not in table CIINVHD Did anyone had this problem before? I have other entities that are very alike in the way that they are using # in their database field names and that are part of the PK and I don't have this problem with them.

  • Assign TableView column binding to a specific core-data object in to-many related entity based on se

    - by snown27
How would I assign a column of a TableView to be a specific entry in a Core Data entity that is linked to the NSArrayController via a to-many relationship? For example Entity: MovieEntity Attributes: title(NSString), releaseDate(NSDate) Relationship: posters<-->> PosterEntity Entity:PosterEntity Attributes: imageLocation(NSURL), default(BOOL) Relationships: movie<<--> MovieEntity So I have a three column table that I want to display the Poster, Title, and Release Date attributes in, but as one movie could potentially have several different style's of posters how do I get the poster column to only show the one that's marked default? Since the rest of the table is defined in Interface Builder I would prefer to keep it that way for the sake of keeping the code as clean as possible, but if this can only be done programmatically then I'm all ears. I just wanted to give preference in case there's more than one way to skin a cat, so to speak.
