• Site images don't refresh after setting expired headers on .htaccess

  I have a site that uses a CSS sprite for all the images. I set the .htaccess file to set the expired headers to a future time as they recommend to improve site performance. However, when I updated the sprite image none of my browsers on two different computers seem to fetch the new image. I deleted the .htaccess serveral times but no luck. I am sure this must be easy as pie to fix but right now I am out of options. • fubar'd a ruby installation on ubuntu, need helping purging it for reinstall

  i originally followed these steps to get a RoR environmentgoing: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RubyOnRails that worked. then i put 1.9.2 on here. then i decided i want the original setup, did a "whereis ruby" and deleted those directories manually. that fubar'd my ruby installation. i can't use the repository to what i originally had. how can i purge ruby from completely and start fresh? right now the specific error is this: /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:11:in `require': no such file to load -- thread (LoadError) from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:11 from /usr/bin/gem1.8:8:in `require' from /usr/bin/gem1.8:8 tipu@tipu_ubuntu:~$

• Node.js Creating and Deleting a File Recursively

  I thought it would be a cool experiment to have a for loop and create a file hello.txt and then delete it with unlink. I figured that if fs.unlink is the delete file procedure in Node, then fs.link must be the create file. However, my code will only delete, and it will not create, not even once. Even if I separate the fs.link code into a separate file, it still will not create my file hello.txt. • Can't remove Default.png?

  Weird one... I had been fooling around with an initial splash screen but decided not to use it. But now, although I deleted Default.png from Resources, the splash screen still appears in the Simulator when I start the app. Default.png isn't in the project folder, I close and reopen Xcode, splash screen still there. Close ands reopen Simulator, splash screen still there. I remove the app from the Simulator, build, and the splash screen is still there Default.png. Any ideas?

  Hello I am working on internal PHP application where users login only from our network (we are on dedicated IP and application is checking $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] and if is match our IP go thru if not - Bye However how I can identify from which station user is login ? Using cookie not gonna work - those are windows station working under control MS StedyState and all cookies are deleted every login I don't need nothing fancy like full MAC address just any unique ID (can not be application username - because users use different stations) Any ideas ? Maybe Javascript is able to grab some Unique detail from station's browser (IE 8) and pass this as hidden input? bensiu

  i have a string that looks like this - "1AL||9CA||34CO||196WY||..." i want to use a for loop or while loop, in which if i have an integer, it should parse this string and delete the value matching that integer. example for above string string = "1AL||9CA||34CO||196WY||..." integer = 34 for ... loop new string = "1AL||9CA||196WY||..." As you can see the integer matched the integer 34 and deleted from one delimeter "||" to th next one. how can i do this?

  I've download a trial of Altova UModel and am starting using UML. As a practical beginning I am modelling a personal information manager application, which includes a web bookmark managing. A Bookmark can belong to many (or no) Tags at once and a Tag can contain many (or no if all the bookmarks it contained were deleted) bookmarks. The relation has to be both-way navigable - a user has to be able to see all Bookmarks with a particular Tags ans all Tags of a Bookmark. What is the correct UML relation between Bookmark and Tag classes? As far as I understand UML now, it is an Association (not an Aggregation). But for a 2-way navigable many-to-many relation I can specify ends roles as "memberEnd" or "when navigableOwnedEnd", graphically the connection looks the same in both cases (an arrow) (which as I understand means navigability) but a property appears in the class box in case only when "memberEnd" is used. How should I specif it in the model If I mean both-way navigable many-to-many relation there?

• What is my problem with ASP.NET pubslishing?

  I am done testing my site and I want to upload it to a site like this http://www.university.edu/mydepartment/myname the admin told me the server runs on .NET 3.5. So i used Linq ... now i tried to upload the site by two ways: when i just copy everything (with modification of web.config database settings) i get an error: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'DataClassesDataContext' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3082; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082 Note here it says version 2.0 did he just lie to me? or its my configuration mistake? anyway, i added the reference, nothing changes. I tried also publishing (Build, publish) with option to keep the pre-comiled site updatable, and I get one line saying: this is a makefile and should be deleted! what is going on?

  I have two lists List<User> list_of_users=new ArrayList<User>(); List<String> list_of_attributes=new ArrayList<String>(); When i try to use the following lines of code: model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_users); model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_attributes); I realise that it keeps only the second list (list_of_attributes) and the first deleted. I was wondering how to keep both of these two lists in the model.Is this possible to be happened?Is the AddAllAttributes method what i need?If yes can anyone explain me how the AddAllAttributes method is working.I look at the spring mvc documentation but i didn't really understand.

  Our company has a database of 17,000 entries. We have used MS Access for over 10 years for our various mailings. Is there something new and better out there? I'm not a techie, so keep in mind when answering. Our problems with Access are: -no record of what was deleted, -will not turn up a name in a search if cap's or punctuation is not entered exactly, -is complicated for us to understand the de-duping process. - We'd like a more nimble program that we can access from more than one dedicated computer.

Clicks on paypal module and makes in-app payment, purchases feature successfully. Buyer deletes application. All information including the feature purchase enty in database is deleted. Buyer reinstalls the application. Here is the catch, if he wants to use the feature he will have to do a re-purchase. Which I wann to avoid in my application. This is taken care in iPhoen in-app purchase. That is if a buyer has already purchased an feture or in-app item, and if he trys to repurchase it (item has been set to one time payment) , the in-app purchase transaction will succeed without the user actually having to repay for the item.   I m trying to make a utility to generate a Insert script of sql tables along with relational table. I got all the values in c#. Now I want to remove the one column name and its value from the script.most probably the identity column. Eg. The string I have (which keeps on changing with table name and varies) INSERT Core.Customers ([customerId],[customername],[customeradress],[ordernumber]) Values(123,N'Rahul',N'244 LIZ MORN',2334) NOW I know I have to remove CustomerId. (sometimes need to be replaces with @somevariable) Please give me an efficient way how to retrieve customerId value and Deleting column name and value . Conditions: insert script length and columns names keep changing. Method should return the deleted value. At some point of time customer id can be same as order id. In that case my string.remove method fails.

• Resize the /var directory in redhat enterprise edition 4

  I am running NDB mysql. the log files fills up the /var directory. therefore i cant start the ndbd service now. as a temporary fix, i have deleted the log files and again working fine. but again the log files fill up the /var directory. i got plenty of space in other partition. therefore i would like to swap the partition from one directory to /var. here if my input from df -h Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 ext3 54G 2.9G 49G 6% / /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 ext3 99M 14M 81M 14% /boot none tmpfs 1013M 0 1013M 0% /dev/shm /dev/cciss/c0d0p2 ext3 9.7G 9.7G 0 100% /var there are plenty of space in /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00.   Hey guys, another quick question for the experts. I have an alert box that displays updates processed in php to the user just like this site. I want to make it so that if the user closes the box, then it will not pop up for another 5 minutes (unless they check the messages then it will not pop up because the entries that cause the pop up are deleted in the database). On the close of the box I was thinking of giving the user a javascript cookie, since the alert box is done in javascript. I was wondering if this was a bad coding practice, since I am kind of unfamiliar with cookies and was warned against them before. If anyone has any advice or can recommend a better way, I would really appreciate it.

But in C# iterating (using enumerator) is read-only operation (speaking in terms of C++, only const_iterator is available). So, how to do this in C#? My problem is that when I delete a "relation unaware" object (Child), the record in the many-to-many table is left. I want the relationship to be removed regardless of which end of it is deleted. • Mysql query - problem with order by

  I'm using two tables for selecting messages between users. Table "messages" for recording the messages and table "members" for checking users data (are they activ or deleted). This query working fine. What I need to do is list the received messsages order by last received. I tried to do with "ORDER BY messages.id DESC" at the end of this query but it didn't work. All messages are listed from first received. • Is adding a bit mask to all tables in a database useful?

  A colleague is adding a bit mask to all our database tables. In theory this is so we can track certain properties of each row across the entire system. For example... Is the row shipped with the system or added by the client once they've started using the system Has the row been deleted from the table (soft deletes) Is the row a default value within a set of rows Is this a good idea? Are there other uses where this approach would be beneficial? My preference is these properties are obviously important, and having a dedicated column for each property is justified to make what is happening clearer to fellow developers.

• MasterPage Page_Load hits before Grid_ItemCommand

  I am using the session object to store success/error messages based on user actions. On each postback, the message is set on ItemCommend and retrieved on the Page_Load of the master page. Once retrieved, the message is deleted from the session. The problem is that the master page's Page_Load gets called before the ItemCommand gets called so the message does not show up until the next refresh or postback. How is this situation normally handled? Is there some other event we can code against?

• SQLite REGEXP initializer not working in production on Heroku

  I am using this to create a REGEXP in SQLite with rails because SQLite does not support REGEXP. When running this app on Heroku rather than the localhost it does not work. Is the initializer not being run when the app launches?
