    - by Harry Pham
I follow this tutorial here to create RESTful web service on Netbean 6.8. However, when I right click on the project node and select Test RESTful Web Service, the browser pop up, and supposedly my project would be listed on the left, and supposedly I would be able to select it, and test against various function that listed on the right. However, I dont see any of that. Any idea why?

  • Dynamic context menu items

    - by Willem
I am using Eclipse RCP to build desktop app. When the user invokes a popup menu I'd like to add some items to the menu. Something like a list of "suggested actions" to take for a problem. The pop-up is is on a table and it already has commands on it. What is the right way to implement this?

  • iPhone Camera and Image Chooser

    - by PF1
Hi Everyone: I have found a lot of information on using UIImagePickerController to let the user choose the image they want from the Photos application's data. I am wondering how I can create this same effect on 3.0, as it doesn't seem as if a lot of the old code works anymore. In addition, I would like the user to be able to take a new picture from this same pop-up. Thanks for any help!

  • Can't sign into linkedin when using a QT4 (WebKit-based) browser?

    - by Inshim
I started using the lightweight QT4 browser for some of the time on my Mac. Most simple websites, and even quite a few AJAX-heavy web apps, work for me flawlessly, including gmail (!) However, with LinkedIn, I can't even manage to sign in. Even when I change the useragent to one of a regular browser, it keeps kicking me out. Any ideas what could be wrong and for some workaround? Thanks!

  • jQuery is not defined on my staging server but works fine on my local

    - by Tony
If you pop open this page with your javascript console, you'll notice a bunch of JS errors. I don't get these errors in my local environment and it seems like it is happening because $ is not defined. I have tried to mimic my local environment exactly on staging by using the same environment.rb file and removing all JS caching but it is making no difference. Can anyone tell why jQuery is crapping out? It might be something really stupid, but I need a second pair of eyes.

  • Best openid implementation

    - by AyKarsi
I think OpenId has many things for it. But the biggest beef I have with it, is usability. Especially the technically non-savvy have dificulty understanding that the need to select a "provider" to login. Stackoverflows login implementation is quite good, but I think it would cost me quite some explaining to get my mother to use here gmail account to register/login to another site... So the question is: Does anynone know OpenId register/login implemtantions which are more usable than Stackoverflows?

  • Bad_alloc exception when using new for a struct c++

    - by bsg
Hi, I am writing a query processor which allocates large amounts of memory and tries to find matching documents. Whenever I find a match, I create a structure to hold two variables describing the document and add it to a priority queue. Since there is no way of knowing how many times I will do this, I tried creating my structs dynamically using new. When I pop a struct off the priority queue, the queue (STL priority queue implementation) is supposed to call the object's destructor. My struct code has no destructor, so I assume a default destructor is called in that case. However, the very first time that I try to create a DOC struct, I get the following error: Unhandled exception at 0x7c812afb in QueryProcessor.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0012f5dc.. I don't understand what's happening - have I used up so much memory that the heap is full? It doesn't seem likely. And it's not as if I've even used that pointer before. So: first of all, what am I doing that's causing the error, and secondly, will the following code work more than once? Do I need to have a separate pointer for each struct created, or can I re-use the same temporary pointer and assume that the queue will keep a pointer to each struct? Here is my code: struct DOC{ int docid; double rank; public: DOC() { docid = 0; rank = 0.0; } DOC(int num, double ranking) { docid = num; rank = ranking; } bool operator>( const DOC & d ) const { return rank > d.rank; } bool operator<( const DOC & d ) const { return rank < d.rank; } }; //a lot of processing goes on here; when a matching document is found, I do this: rank = calculateRanking(table, num); //if the heap is not full, create a DOC struct with the docid and rank and add it to the heap if(q.size() < 20) { doc = new DOC(num, rank); q.push(*doc); doc = NULL; } //if the heap is full, but the new rank is greater than the //smallest element in the min heap, remove the current smallest element //and add the new one to the heap else if(rank > q.top().rank) { q.pop(); cout << "pushing doc on to queue" << endl; doc = new DOC(num, rank); q.push(*doc); } Thank you very much, bsg.

  • How do I make a docstring in VB.NET?

    - by Wayne Werner
Hi, I'm writing a .dll in Visual Basic. When writing code in Visual Studio if I do something like Console.WriteLine( it will pop up a tooltip with a bit of documentation for the function. Is it possible to write something in my function/sub that would provide that information to Visual Studio? Thanks

  • Integration of aadvark with Gtalk - how does it work

    - by Gublooo
Hi guys Not sure if anyone has used aadvark but it has a very nice integration with Gtalk. If you have signed up on aadvark - when any question is posted in your area of expertise - there will be nice pop-up in ur gtalk window asking if you are interested in answering - if you say Yes - it will ask you the question and you can answer in that window itself. Is that something they are able to do because Google bought them or does google have an API with which we can integrate it with our application to do something similar. Thanks

  • Is this implementation truely tail-recursive?

    - by CFP
Hello everyone! I've come up with the following code to compute in a tail-recursive way the result of an expression such as 3 4 * 1 + cos 8 * (aka 8*cos(1+(3*4))) The code is in OCaml. I'm using a list refto emulate a stack. type token = Num of float | Fun of (float->float) | Op of (float->float->float);; let pop l = let top = (List.hd !l) in l := List.tl (!l); top;; let push x l = l := (x::!l);; let empty l = (l = []);; let pile = ref [];; let eval data = let stack = ref data in let rec _eval cont = match (pop stack) with | Num(n) -> cont n; | Fun(f) -> _eval (fun x -> cont (f x)); | Op(op) -> _eval (fun x -> cont (op x (_eval (fun y->y)))); in _eval (fun x->x) ;; eval [Fun(fun x -> x**2.); Op(fun x y -> x+.y); Num(1.); Num(3.)];; I've used continuations to ensure tail-recursion, but since my stack implements some sort of a tree, and therefore provides quite a bad interface to what should be handled as a disjoint union type, the call to my function to evaluate the left branch with an identity continuation somehow irks a little. Yet it's working perfectly, but I have the feeling than in calling the _eval (fun y->y) bit, there must be something wrong happening, since it doesn't seem that this call can replace the previous one in the stack structure... Am I misunderstanding something here? I mean, I understand that with only the first call to _eval there wouldn't be any problem optimizing the calls, but here it seems to me that evaluation the _eval (fun y->y) will require to be stacked up, and therefore will fill the stack, possibly leading to an overflow... Thanks!

  • Finding the methods/properties on a swf object

    - by Jones
I have a swf object embedded into a web page. Without having access to the source code of the swf file, how can I find the methods/properties that are exposed? For example... alert(document.getElementById('swfObject').id); ...returns a pop-up of "swfObject". And this... document.getElementById('swfObject').someMethod(); ...executes someMethod. Thanks.

  • How do you create an invisible button that covers the whole screen including navigation controller?

    - by Jim
I have a simple tableview that navigates to a detailed view with a navigation controller. In the detailed view I need to create a button which when pressed isolates all other buttons displayed on the screen including the navigation controller back button. I know how to get the invisible button to cover most of buttons the screen but I can't get it to cover the navigation controller back button as this has been created in the parent view. How do I pop it over the top of the navigation controller from the detail view?
