  • How can I reorder parts of a video file

    - by sandeep
I have download a mkv movie file which gave me 3 files suffixed .001, .002, and .003. When i join them together with different tools like winrar, 7zip, hjsplit, concatenated file shows only last 40 min/1.22 hrs of the total length of the movie. If I play all the (.001, .002, .003) parts with vlc player, I can see that .003 is the first part of the video and .001 is the last part. Can anyone tell me how can join this parts of movie with correct position or how I can convert .003 file into .001 file.

  • QT Question - What are all these extra spaces for ? (pic provided)

    - by mea
stack overflow wont let me post images so heres the link: http://4m0.org/images/qt.png This is my application. For this question, ignore the top part with the buttons. I have a QScrollArea Filled with many QGroupBoxes Filled with a horizontal box layout of QLabel (on the left) and QGroupBox (on the right) The right side is a vertical box layout of QPushButtons Every single element, the scrollarea, both boxes, the labels, and the buttons all have their style sheets modified so padding is 0px and margin is 0px. Why do i have all this extra space? The scroll area has space on all sides until its inner elements (the blue boxes) start. Then those boxes have space until its inner elements (the white boxes) start. Can someone tell me what is going on?

  • How can I remove rows with unique values? As in only keeping rows with duplicate values?

    - by user1456405
    Here's the conundrum, I'm a complete and utter noob when it comes to programming. I understand the basics, but am still learning javascript. I have a spreadsheet of surveys, in which I need to see how particular users have varied over time. As such, I need to disregard all rows with unique values in a particular column. The data looks like this: Response Date Response_ID Account_ID Q.1 10/20/2011 12:03:43 PM 23655956 1168161 8 10/20/2011 03:52:57 PM 23660161 1168152 0 10/21/2011 10:55:54 AM 23672903 1166121 7 10/23/2011 04:28:16 PM 23694471 1144756 9 10/25/2011 06:30:52 AM 23732674 1167449 7 10/25/2011 07:52:28 AM 23734597 1087618 5 I've found a way to do so in VBA, which sucks as I have to use excel, per below: Sub Del_Unique() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Columns("B:B").Insert Shift:=xlToRight Columns("A:A").Copy Destination:=Columns("B:B") i = Application.CountIf(Range("A:A"), "<>") + 50 If i > 65536 Then i = 65536 Do If Application.CountIf(Range("B:B"), Range("A" & i)) = 1 Then Rows(i).Delete End If i = i - 1 Loop Until i = 0 Columns("B:B").Delete Application.ScreenUpdating = True End Sub But that requires mucking about. I'd really like to do it in Google Spreadsheets with a script that won't have to be changed. Closest I can get is retrieving all duplicate user ids from the range, but can't associate that with the row. That code follows: function findDuplicatesInSelection() { var activeRange = SpreadsheetApp.getActiveRange(); var values = activeRange.getValues(); // values that appear at least once var once = {}; // values that appear at least twice var twice = {}; // values that appear at least twice, stored in a pretty fashion! var final = []; for (var i = 0; i < values.length; i++) { var inner = values[i]; for (var j = 0; j < inner.length; j++) { var cell = inner[j]; if (cell == "") continue; if (once.hasOwnProperty(cell)) { if (!twice.hasOwnProperty(cell)) { final.push(cell); } twice[cell] = 1; } else { once[cell] = 1; } } } if (final.length == 0) { Browser.msgBox("No duplicates found"); } else { Browser.msgBox("Duplicates are: " + final); } } Anyhow, sorry if this is the wrong place or format, but half of what I've found so far has been from stack, I thought it was a good place to start. Thanks!

  • How do you make long SQL invoked from other code readable?

    - by Artem
This is a very open question, but I think it can be very beneficial for SQL readability. So you have a Java program, and you are trying to call a monster SQL statement from it, with many subqueries and joins. The starting point for my question is a string constant like this: static string MONSTER_STATEMENT = "SELECT " + " fields" + "WHERE "+ " fieldA = (SELECT a FROM TableC) " + "AND fieldB IN (%s)" + "AND fieldC = %d " + "FROM " " tableA INNER JOIN tableB ON ..."; It later gets filled using String.format and executed. What are you tricks for making this kind of stuff readable? Do you separate your inner joins. Do you indent the SQL itself inside the string? Where do you put the comments? Please share all of the tricks in your arsenal.

  • Rails activerecord includes. How to access the included columns?

    - by Lee Quarella
I my User has_many :event_patrons and EventPatron belongs_to :user. I would like to slap together the user with one specific event patron with something like this sql statement: SELECT * FROM `users` INNER JOIN `event_patrons` ON `event_patrons`.`user_id` = `users`.`id` WHERE `event_patrons`.`event_id` = 1 So in rails I tried this: User.all(:joins => :event_patrons, :condidions => {:event_patrons => {:event_id => 1}}) But that gives me SELECT users.* instead of SELECT *: SELECT `users`* FROM `users` INNER JOIN `event_patrons` ON `event_patrons`.`user_id` = `users`.`id` WHERE `event_patrons`.`event_id` = 1 I then tried to switch the :joins with :include and got a whole jumbled mess that still returned me only the columns in User and none from EventPatron. What am I missing?

  • SQL Server, fetching data from multiple joined tables. Why is slow?

    - by user562192
I have problem with performance when retrieving data from SQL Server. My sql query looks something like this: SELECT table_1.id, table_1.value, table_2.id, table_2.value,..., table_20.id, table_20.value From table_1 INNER JOIN table_2 ON table_1.id = table_2.table_1_id INNER JOIN table_3 ON table_2.id = table_3.table_2_id... WHERE table_1.row_number BETWEEN 1 AND 20 So, I am fetching 20 results. This query takes about 5 seconds to execute. When I select only table_1.id, it returns results instantly. Because of that, I guess that problem is not in JOINs, it is in retrieving data from multiple tables. Any suggestions how I would speed up this query?

  • MySQL: Query to obtain recipes using all given ingredients.

    - by John_A
hi I have the following simplified tables: CREATE TABLE recipe(id int, name varchar(25)); CREATE TABLE ingredient(name varchar(25)); CREATE TABLE uses_ingredient(recipe_id int, name varchar(25)); I want to make a query that returns all id's of recipes that contain both Chicken and Cream. I have tried SELECT recipe_id FROM uses_ingredient INNER JOIN (SELECT * FROM ingredient WHERE name="Chicken" OR name="Cream") USING (name) GROUP BY recipe_id HAVING COUNT(recipe_id) >= (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM theme); which gives me :"ERROR 1248 (42000): Every derived table must have its own alias" and is probably wrong too. Next I tried SELECT recipe_id FROM (SELECT * FROM ingredient WHERE name="Chicken" OR name="Cream") AS t INNER JOIN uses_ingredient USING (name) GROUP BY recipe_id HAVING COUNT(recipe_id)>= (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM t); which gives "ERROR 1146 (42S02): Table 'recipedb.t' doesn't exist" I want to avoid creating temporary tables including using ENGINE=MEMORY.

  • VS 2010 SQL Update for SQL Statement

    - by Mike Tucker
Please bear with me as I'm just beginning to learn this stuff. I have a VS 2010 Web project up and I'm trying to understand how I can make a custom UpdateCommand (Because I chose to write my own SQL statement, I do not have the option for VS 2010 to auto generate an update command for me.) Problem is: I don't know what the UpdateCommand should look like. Here is my Select: SELECT * FROM Dbo.MainAsset, dbo.Model, dbo.Hardware WHERE MainAsset.device = Hardware.DeviceID AND MainAsset.model = Model.DeviceID Which, VS 2010 turns into: SELECT MainAsset.pk, MainAsset.img, MainAsset.device, MainAsset.model, MainAsset.os, MainAsset.asset, MainAsset.serial, MainAsset.inyear, MainAsset.expyear, MainAsset.site, MainAsset.room, MainAsset.teacher, MainAsset.FirstName, MainAsset.LastName, MainAsset.Notes, MainAsset.Dept, MainAsset.AccountingCode, Model.Model AS Hardware, Model.pk AS Model, Model.DeviceID, Hardware.Computer, Hardware.pk AS Expr3, Hardware.DeviceID AS Expr4 FROM MainAsset INNER JOIN Hardware ON MainAsset.device = Hardware.DeviceID INNER JOIN Model ON MainAsset.model = Model.DeviceID How would I approach updating one column, say "MainAsset.site" if that's changed in the Gridview DDL? Any help constructive help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • .Net Sql Client Provider

    - by sameer
Have come across a situation where in, if a stored procedure is executed in Query Analyser its execution time is less than a second. But when same Stored Procedure is executed using .NET Sql Client Provide. it is taking 61 seconds. Therefore inorder to troubleshoot this issue we went to SQL Profiler we find the request come to SQL Server less then a second but execution completed after 60 seconds. Can anybody suggest why we have such a deviation. Query is a simple as give below SELECT distinct p1.productID, p1.description FROM Details V INNER JOIN Product P ON V.ProductID=P.ProductID INNER JOIN product p1 on p1.productID=p.parentID WHERE V.MarketID='1159' AND V.FinancialYear='1213' AND V.LEPeriodID= '75' AND p1.parentID=100024 AND p1.statusID = 1 ORDER BY description

  • String manipulation appears to be inefficient

    - by user2964780
I think my code is too inefficient. I'm guessing it has something to do with using strings, though I'm unsure. Here is the code: genome = FASTAdata[1] genomeLength = len(genome); # Hash table holding all the k-mers we will come across kmers = dict() # We go through all the possible k-mers by index for outer in range (0, genomeLength-1): for inner in range (outer+2, outer+22): substring = genome[outer:inner] if substring in kmers: # if we already have this substring on record, increase its value (count of num of appearances) by 1 kmers[substring] += 1 else: kmers[substring] = 1 # otherwise record that it's here once This is to search through all substrings of length at most 20. Now this code seems to take pretty forever and never terminate, so something has to be wrong here. Is using [:] on strings causing the huge overhead? And if so, what can I replace it with? And for clarity the file in question is nearly 200mb, so pretty big.

  • Show the specific field on mysql table based on active date

    - by mrjimoy_05
    Suppose that I have 3 tables: A) Table UsrHeader ----------------- UsrID | UsrName ----------------- 1 | Abc 2 | Bcd B) Table UsrDetail ------------------------------- UsrID | UsrLoc | Date ------------------------------- 1 | LocA | 10 Aug 2012 1 | LocB | 15 Aug 2012 2 | LocA | 10 Aug 2012 C) Table Trx ----------------------------- TrxID | TrxDate | UsrID ----------------------------- 1 | 10 Aug 2012 | 1 2 | 16 Aug 2012 | 1 3 | 11 Aug 2012 | 2 What I want to do is to show the table like: --------------------------------------- TrxID | TrxDate | UsrID | UsrLoc --------------------------------------- 1 | 10 Aug 2012 | 1 | LocA 2 | 16 Aug 2012 | 1 | LocB 3 | 11 Aug 2012 | 2 | LocA Notice that there is one user but different location. That's based on the UsrDetail table that the user on a specified date has moved to another location. So, it should be show the user specific location on that date on every transaction. I have try this code but it is no luck: SELECT trx.TrxID, trx.TrxDate, trx.UsrID, User.UsrName, User.UsrLoc FROM trx INNER JOIN ( SELECT UsrHeader.UsrID, UsrHeader.UsrName, UserDetail.UsrLoc FROM UsrHeader INNER JOIN ( SELECT UsrDetail.UsrID, UsrDetail.UsrLoc, UsrDetail.Date FROM UsrDetail ) AS UserDetail ON UserDetail.UsrID = UsrHeader.UsrID ) AS User ON User.UsrID = trx.UsrID AND trx.TrxDate >= User.Date How to do that? Thanks..

  • Delete rows out of table that is innerjoined and unioned with 2 others

    - by jonathan
We have 3 tables (table1, table2, table3), and I need to delete all the rows from table1 that have the same ID in table2 OR table3. To see a list of all of these rows I have this code: ( select table2.ID, table2.name_first, table2.name_last, table2.Collected from table2 inner join table1 on table1.ID = table2.ID where table2.Collected = 'Y' ) union ( select table3.ID, table3.name_first, table3.name_last, table3.Collected from table3 inner join table1 on table1.ID = table3.ID where table3.Collected = 'Y' ) I get back about 200 rows. How do I delete them from table1? I don't have a way to test if my query will work, so I'm nervous about modifying something I found online and potentially deleting data (we do have backups, but I'd rather not test out their integrity). TIA!

  • SQL SERVER – Information Related to DATETIME and DATETIME2

    - by pinaldave
I recently received interesting comment on the blog regarding workaround to overcome the precision issue while dealing with DATETIME and DATETIME2. I have written over this subject earlier over here. SQL SERVER – Difference Between GETDATE and SYSDATETIME SQL SERVER – Difference Between DATETIME and DATETIME2 – WITH GETDATE SQL SERVER – Difference Between DATETIME and DATETIME2 SQL Expert Jing Sheng Zhong has left following comment: The issue you found in SQL server new datetime type is related time source function precision. Folks have found the root reason of the problem – when data time values are converted (implicit or explicit) between different data type, which would lose some precision, so the result cannot match each other as thought. Here I would like to gave a work around solution to solve the problem which the developers met. -- Declare and loop DECLARE @Intveral INT, @CurDate DATETIMEOFFSET; CREATE TABLE #TimeTable (FirstDate DATETIME, LastDate DATETIME2, GlobalDate DATETIMEOFFSET) SET @Intveral = 10000 WHILE (@Intveral > 0) BEGIN ----SET @CurDate = SYSDATETIMEOFFSET(); -- higher precision for future use only SET @CurDate = TODATETIMEOFFSET(GETDATE(),DATEDIFF(N,GETUTCDATE(),GETDATE())); -- lower precision to match exited date process INSERT #TimeTable (FirstDate, LastDate, GlobalDate) VALUES (@CurDate, @CurDate, @CurDate) SET @Intveral = @Intveral - 1 END GO -- Distinct Values SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT FirstDate) D_DATETIME, COUNT(DISTINCT LastDate) D_DATETIME2, COUNT(DISTINCT GlobalDate) D_SYSGETDATE FROM #TimeTable GO -- Join SELECT DISTINCT a.FirstDate,b.LastDate, b.GlobalDate, CAST(b.GlobalDate AS DATETIME) GlobalDateASDateTime FROM #TimeTable a INNER JOIN #TimeTable b ON a.FirstDate = CAST(b.GlobalDate AS DATETIME) GO -- Select SELECT * FROM #TimeTable GO -- Clean up DROP TABLE #TimeTable GO If you read my blog SQL SERVER – Difference Between DATETIME and DATETIME2 you will notice that I have achieved the same using GETDATE(). Are you using DATETIME2 in your production environment? If yes, I am interested to know the use case. • Re-running SSRS subscription jobs that have failed

    - by Rob Farley
Sometimes, an SSRS subscription for some reason. It can be annoying, particularly as the appropriate response can be hard to see immediately. There may be a long list of jobs that failed one morning if a Mail Server is down, and trying to work out a way of running each one again can be painful. It’s almost an argument for using shared schedules a lot, but the problem with this is that there are bound to be other things on that shared schedule that you wouldn’t want to be re-run. Luckily, there’s a table in the ReportServer database called dbo.Subscriptions, which is where LastStatus of the Subscription is stored. Having found the subscriptions that you’re interested in, finding the SQL Agent Jobs that correspond to them can be frustrating. Luckily, the jobstep command contains the subscriptionid, so it’s possible to look them up based on that. And of course, once the jobs have been found, they can be executed easily enough. In this example, I produce a list of the commands to run the jobs. I can copy the results out and execute them. select 'exec sp_start_job @job_name = ''' + cast(j.name as varchar(40)) + '''' from msdb.dbo.sysjobs j  join  msdb.dbo.sysjobsteps js on js.job_id = j.job_id join  [ReportServer].[dbo].[Subscriptions] s  on js.command like '%' + cast(s.subscriptionid as varchar(40)) + '%' where s.LastStatus like 'Failure sending mail%'; Another option could be to return the job step commands directly (js.command in this query), but my preference is to run the job that contains the step. Thanks to Facebook for providing fine grain privacy options on controlling what we want to share and with whom we want to share. • Oye! Help Build OTN America Latina!

    - by rickramsey
Yes, tango is passion, but it is passion born of romance. Not passion born of lust. As it is so often portrayed today. Understand that, and you will begin to understand why life in Latin America is so rich. image courtesy of Continental Magazine. You don't often get a chance to shape the direction of a technical comunidad. Somebody else gets there first and pretty soon everyone is in a rathole about the relevance of rutabagas. Or rutabagels as my public-school-educated hijas prefer to call them. Well, OTN American Latina is just starting up. If you're a techie who speaks Spanish or Portuguese, or if you just like hanging out with techies latinoamericanos (and who doesn't?), here's how to get in on the fun: Why Portuguese Speaking Techies Should Join Why Spanish Speaking Techies Should Join And here are the sites themselves: OTN America Latina in Brazilian Portuguese OTN America Latina in Spanish If you're not sure which site to visit, just remember that Brazilian Portuguese is Spanish spoken with a little body English. • How to Setup an Active Directory Domain-Week 26

    - by OWScott
Today's lesson covers how to create an Active Directory domain and join a member server to it. This week's topic takes a slightly different turn from the normally IIS related topics, but this is key video to help setup either a test or production environment that requires Active Directory. Part of being a web administrator is understanding the servers and how they interact with each other. This week’s lesson takes a different path than usual and covers how to create an Active Directory domain and how to join a member computer to that domain. In less than 13 minutes we complete the entire process, end to end. An understanding of Active Directory is useful, whether it’s simply to setup a test lab, or to learn more so that you can manage a production domain environment. This week starts a mini-series on web farms. Today’s lesson is on setting up a domain which is a necessary prerequisite for next week which will be on Distributed File System Replication (DFS-R), a useful technology for web farms. Upcoming lessons will cover shared configuration, Application Request Routing (ARR), and more. Additionally, this video introduces us to Vaasnet (www.vaasnet.com), a service that allows the web pro to gain immediate access to an entire lab environment for situations such as these. This is week 26 (the middle week!) of a 52 week series for the Web Pro. Past and future videos can be found here: http://dotnetslackers.com/projects/LearnIIS7/ You can find this week’s video here.
