  • How to set permissions on MSMQ Cluster queues?

    - by JorgeSandoval
I've got a cluster with functioning private MSMQ 3.0 queues. I'm trying to programmatically set the permissions, but can't seem to connect via System.Messaging on the queues. The code below works just fine when working with local queues (and using .\ nomenclature for the local queue). How to programmatically set the permissions on the clustered queues? Powershell code executed from the active node function set-msmqpermission ([string] $queuepath,[string] $account, [string] $accessright) { if (!([System.Messaging.MessageQueue]::Exists($queuepath))){ throw "$queuepath could not be found." } $q=New-Object System.Messaging.MessageQueue($queuepath) $q.SetPermissions($account,[System.Messaging.MessageQueueAccessRights]::$accessright, [System.Messaging.AccessControlEntryType]::Set) } set-msmqpermission "clusternetworkname\private$\qa1ack" "UserAccount" "FullControl" Exception calling "SetPermissions" with "3" argument(s): "Invalid queue path name." At line:30 char:19 + $q.SetPermissions <<<< ($account,[System.Messaging.MessageQueueAccessRights]::$accessright, + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException

  • Using DataAnnotations with Entity Framework

    - by dcompiled
    I have used the Entity Framework with VS2010 to create a simple person class with properties, firstName, lastName, and email. If I want to attach DataAnnotations like as is done in this blog post I have a small problem because my person class is dynamically generated. I could edit the dynamically generated code directly but any time I have to update my model all my validation code would get wiped out. First instinct was to create a partial class and try to attach annotations but it complains that I'm trying to redefine the property. I'm not sure if you can make property declarations in C# like function declarations in C++. If you could that might be the answer. Here's a snippet of what I tried: namespace PersonWeb.Models { public partial class Person { [RegularExpression(@"(\w|\.)+@(\w|\.)+", ErrorMessage = "Email is invalid")] public string Email { get; set; } /* ERROR: The type 'Person' already contains a definition for 'Email' */ } }

  • How to create a UDF that takes a query string and returns the query's resultset

    - by Martin
I want to create a stored procedure that takes a simple SELECT statement and return the resultset as a CSV string. So the basic idea is get the sql statement from user input, run it using EXEC(@stmt) and convert the resultset to text using cursors. However, as SQLServer doesn't allow: select * from storedprocedure(@sqlStmt) UDF with EXEC(@sqlStmt) so I tried Insert into #tempTable EXEC(@sqlStmt), but this doesn't work (error = "invalid object name #tempTable"). I'm stuck. Could you please shed some light on this matter? Many thanks EDIT: Actually the output (e.g CSV string) is not important. The problem is I don't know how to assign a cursor to the resultset returned by EXEC. SP and UDF do not work with Exec() while creating a temp table before inserting values is impossible without knowing the input statement. I thought of OPENQUERY but it does not accept variables as its parameters.

  • Can I check the validity of a single DataMapper property?

    - by Nathan Long
In a custom DataMapper setter, I'd like to check whether the value I'm setting is valid or not. For instance: class ToastMitten include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :wearer, Enum['Chuck Norris', 'Jon Skeet'] property :first_worn_at, DateTime def wearer=(name) super if wearer.valid? # How can I do this? first_worn_at = Time.now end end end t = ToastMitten.new t.wearer = 'Nathan Long' # invalid value; do NOT set first_worn_at t.wearer = 'Jon Skeet' # valid value; set first_worn_at Can I check the validity of a single property like this without calling valid? on the object itself and looking through all the errors?

  • What are the Build Settings for a Universal iPhone and iPad Application

    - by McPragma
What would be the settings to build and have accepted an universal app for both the iPad and iPhone? That is, what would be the settings in Project X Info Build for Architectures [ARCHS] ("Standard(armv6)" or "Optimized(armv6 armv7)" or other) Valid Architectures [VALID_ARCHS] ("armv6 armv7" or other) Build Active Architecture Only (checked or unchecked) and what would we select in the dropdown (Device - 3.2|Distribution|armv?) ? We're either getting warnings at build time that we haven't built for armv7, or the app upload is rejected on account of "The binary you uploaded was invalid. When supporting iPhone, the executable must include support for the armv6 architecture". Thank you for your help.

  • Joda time : How to convert String to LocalDate?

    - by bsreekanth
Hello, How to specify the format string to convert the date alone from string. In my case, only the date part is relevant Constructing it as DateTime fails: String dateString = "2009-04-17"; DateTimeFormatter formatter = DateTimeFormat.forPattern("yyyy-MM-dd"); DateTime dateTime = formatter.parseDateTime(dateString); with error java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "2011-04-17" is too short Probably because I should use LocalDate instead. But, I do not see any formatter for LocalDate . What is the best way to convert String dateString = "2009-04-17"; into LocalDate (or something else if that is not the right representation) thanks...

  • NpgSQL insert file path containing backslashes "\\"

    - by Chau
I am trying to create a record containing the path to a file. The insertion is done into a Postgres database where UTF8 is enabled, using the NpqSQL driver. My table definition: CREATE TABLE images ( id serial, file_location character varying NOT NULL ) My SQL statement (boiled down to a minimum): INSERT INTO images (file_location) VALUES (E'\\2010') When using pgAdmin to insert the above statement, it works fine. Using the NpgSQL driver through Visual Studio C#, it fails with this exception: "ERROR: 22021: invalid byte sequence for encoding \"UTF8\": 0x81" Replacing my SQL statement with the following: INSERT INTO images (file_location) VALUES (E'\\a2010') ^ The E is encouraged by pgAdmin when using double backslashes. So a quick recap: Why is NpqSQL stopping my insertion of the \\2010?

  • How do I show a user's credit based on their session

    - by Jamie
Hi all - I'm developing a simple LAMP app where users can credit their account using Paypal. I suspect this is a simple issue, but have spent quite a while experimenting to no avail and would appreciate any thoughts: System has a user management system working fine using sessions, but I can't get it to display the current user's credit. But I've been trying things along the lines of: $result = mysql_query(" SELECT * FROM users INNER JOIN account ON account.UserID=account.UserID ORDER BY account.accountID"); while($_SESSION['Username'] = $row['Username'] ) { echo $row['Username']; echo $row['Credit']; } I suspect the while statement is invalid, but I want it to echo username and credit where the current session username = the username stored in the database. Thanks so much for taking a look - very much appreciated.

  • Creating a multi-page PDF doc

    - by codemercenary
Hi, has anyone already created a PDF document in an iPad app. i see that there are new functions in the UIKit to do this, but I can't find any code example for this. BOOL UIGraphicsBeginPDFContextToFile ( NSString *path, CGRect bounds, NSDictionary *documentInfo ); void UIGraphicsBeginPDFPage ( void ); I found an example that is supposed to work on the iPhone, but this gives me errors: Fri Apr 30 11:55:32 wks104.hs.local PDF[1963] <Error>: CGFont/Freetype: The function `create_subset' is currently unimplemented. • Accessing a Service from within an XNA Content Pipeline Extension

    - by David Wallace
I need to allow my content pipeline extension to use a pattern similar to a factory. I start with a dictionary type: public delegate T Mapper<T>(MapFactory<T> mf, XElement d); public class MapFactory<T> { Dictionary<string, Mapper<T>> map = new Dictionary<string, Mapper<T>>(); public void Add(string s, Mapper<T> m) { map.Add(s, m); } public T Get(XElement xe) { if (xe == null) throw new ArgumentNullException( "Invalid document"); var key = xe.Name.ToString(); if (!map.ContainsKey(key)) throw new ArgumentException( key + " is not a valid key."); return map[key](this, xe); } public IEnumerable<T> GetAll(XElement xe) { if (xe == null) throw new ArgumentNullException( "Invalid document"); foreach (var e in xe.Elements()) { var val = e.Name.ToString(); if (map.ContainsKey(val)) yield return map[val](this, e); } } } Here is one type of object I want to store: public partial class TestContent { // Test type public string title; // Once test if true public bool once; // Parameters public Dictionary<string, object> args; public TestContent() { title = string.Empty; args = new Dictionary<string, object>(); } public TestContent(XElement xe) { title = xe.Name.ToString(); args = new Dictionary<string, object>(); xe.ParseAttribute("once", once); } } XElement.ParseAttribute is an extension method that works as one might expect. It returns a boolean that is true if successful. The issue is that I have many different types of tests, each of which populates the object in a way unique to the specific test. The element name is the key to MapFactory's dictionary. This type of test, while atypical, illustrates my problem. public class LogicTest : TestBase { string opkey; List<TestBase> items; public override bool Test(BehaviorArgs args) { if (items == null) return false; if (items.Count == 0) return false; bool result = items[0].Test(args); for (int i = 1; i < items.Count; i++) { bool other = items[i].Test(args); switch (opkey) { case "And": result &= other; if (!result) return false; break; case "Or": result |= other; if (result) return true; break; case "Xor": result ^= other; break; case "Nand": result = !(result & other); break; case "Nor": result = !(result | other); break; default: result = false; break; } } return result; } public static TestContent Build(MapFactory<TestContent> mf, XElement xe) { var result = new TestContent(xe); string key = "Or"; xe.GetAttribute("op", key); result.args.Add("key", key); var names = mf.GetAll(xe).ToList(); if (names.Count() < 2) throw new ArgumentException( "LogicTest requires at least two entries."); result.args.Add("items", names); return result; } } My actual code is more involved as the factory has two dictionaries, one that turns an XElement into a content type to write and another used by the reader to create the actual game objects. I need to build these factories in code because they map strings to delegates. I have a service that contains several of these factories. The mission is to make these factory classes available to a content processor. Neither the processor itself nor the context it uses as a parameter have any known hooks to attach an IServiceProvider or equivalent. Any ideas?

  • What does sub error code 568 mean for Ldap Error 49 with Active Directory

    - by Dean Povey
I am writing some Java code that authenticates to Active Directory using SASL GSSAPI. Mostly this code is working fine but for one user I am getting the response: javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - 8 0090304: LdapErr: DSID-0C0904D1, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 568, v1772 ] I know that 49 means this is an authentication failure, and that the relevant sub code is 568, but I am only aware of the following meanings for that data: 525 - user not found 52e - invalid credentials 530 - not permitted to logon at this time 532 - password expired 533 - account disabled 701 - account expired 773 - user must reset password So far I am unable to find an authorative source of these error codes from Microsoft (this list is pieced together from forum posts) and I can't find anything for that 568 error. Does anyone know what it means?

  • ASP.NET MVC: How to serve content while returning status code 404?

    - by Marek
I would like to serve a user friendly "not found" page in my ASP.NET MVC application while providing a 404 status code. (based on this answer) I already have the mechanism how to catch an invalid route and the custom 404 page is served by my ErrorController/Handle404 action. My current implementation of Handle404: public ActionResult Handle404() { Response.StatusCode = 404; return View("NotFound"); } Currently, IIS serves the page as 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. (the standard IIS page, not my user friendly content) How can I include the 404 status code in the result served by the Handle404 action while still serving the content?

  • I can't make this query work with SUM function

    - by Mehper C. Palavuzlar
This query gives an error: select ep, case when ob is null and b2b_ob is null then 'a' when ob is not null or b2b_ob is not null then 'b' else null end as type, sum(b2b_d + b2b_t - b2b_i) as sales from table where ... group by ep, type Error: ORA-00904: "TYPE": invalid identifier When I run it with group by ep, the error message becomes: ORA-00979: not a GROUP BY expression The whole query works OK if I remove the lines sum(b2b_d+b2b_t-b2b_i) as sales and group by ..., so the problem should be related to SUM and GROUP BY functions. How can I make this work? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Creating Python C module from Fortran sources on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

    - by Botondus
In a project I work on we use a Python C module compiled from Fortran with f2py. I've had no issues building it on Windows 7 32bit (using mingw32) and on the servers it's built on 32bit Linux. But I've recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64bit on my laptop that I use for development, and when I build it I get a lot of warnings (even though I've apparently installed all gcc/fortran libraries/compilers), but it does finish the build. However when I try to use the built module in the application, most of it seems to run well but then it crashes with an error: * glibc detected /home/botondus/Envs/gasit/bin/python: free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x0000000006a44760 ** Warnings on running *f2py -c -m module_name ./fortran/source.f90* customize UnixCCompiler customize UnixCCompiler using build_ext customize GnuFCompiler Could not locate executable g77 Found executable /usr/bin/f77 gnu: no Fortran 90 compiler found gnu: no Fortran 90 compiler found customize IntelFCompiler Could not locate executable ifort Could not locate executable ifc customize LaheyFCompiler Could not locate executable lf95 customize PGroupFCompiler Could not locate executable pgf90 Could not locate executable pgf77 customize AbsoftFCompiler Could not locate executable f90 absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found absoft: no Fortran 90 compiler found customize NAGFCompiler Found executable /usr/bin/f95 customize VastFCompiler customize GnuFCompiler gnu: no Fortran 90 compiler found gnu: no Fortran 90 compiler found customize CompaqFCompiler Could not locate executable fort customize IntelItaniumFCompiler Could not locate executable efort Could not locate executable efc customize IntelEM64TFCompiler customize Gnu95FCompiler Found executable /usr/bin/gfortran customize Gnu95FCompiler customize Gnu95FCompiler using build_ext I have tried building a 32bit version by installing the gfortran multilib packages and running f2py with -m32 option (but with no success): f2py -c -m module_name ./fortran/source.f90 --f77flags="-m32" --f90flags="-m32" Any suggestions on what I could try to either build 32bit version or correctly build the 64bit version? Edit: It looks like it crashes right at the end of a subroutine. The 'write' executes fine... which is strange. write(6,*)'Eh=',Eh end subroutine calcolo_involucro The full backtrace is very long and I'm not sure if it's any help, but here it is: *** glibc detected • How can I dispatch an PropertyChanged event from a subscription to an Interval based IObservable

    - by James Hay
I'm getting an 'UnauthorizedAccesExpection - Invalid cross-thread access' exception when I try to raise a PropertyChanged event from within a subscription to an IObservable collection created through Observable.Interval(). With my limited threading knowledge I'm assuming that the interval is happening on some other thread while the event wants to happen on the UI thread??? An explanation of the problem would be very useful. The code looks a little like: var subscriber = Observable.Interval(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(1)) .Subscribe(x => { Prop = x; // setting property raises a PropertyChanged event }); Any solutions?

  • C# double-quoted path name being escaped when read from file

    - by KrisTrip
I am trying to read in a text input file that contains a list of filenames (one per line). However, I am running into an issue if the user double-quotes the path (because it has a space in it). For example, a normal input file might have: C:\test\test.tiff C:\test\anothertest.tiff C:\test\lasttest.tiff These get read in fine by my code ("C:\\test\\test.tiff" etc) However, if I have the following input file: "C:\test with spaces\test.tiff" "C:\test with spaces\anothertest.tiff" "C:\test with spaces\lasttest.tiff" These get read in double-quotes and all ("\"C:\\test with spaces\\test.tiff\"" etc). This becomes a problem when I try to open the files (I understandably get invalid character exceptions). My question is, how do I fix this? I want to allow users to input quoted strings and handle them correctly. My first impression was to just write a little method that strips off beginning or ending quotes, but I thought there might be a better way.

  • How do you work out the IIS Virtual Path for an application?

    - by joshcomley
When I try to change the ASP.NET version to v4 on IIS 6, I receive the following warning: Changing the Framework version requires a restart of the W3SVC service. Alternatively, you can change the Framework version without restarting the W3SVC service by running: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s IIS-Viirtual-Path Do you want to continue (this will change the Framework version and restart the W3SVC service)? How do I work out IIS-Virtual-Path? I have tried the obvious paths i.e.: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "/WebSites/Extranet/AppName" Where WebSites is the name of the folder in IIS, Extranet the name of the root app and AppName the name of the Virtual Directory application I am trying to change. Thanks! Edit: How do I work out the virtual path for the Auth virtual directory in following IIS6 setup: I have tried: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "/Web Sites/Extranet/Auth" aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "Auth" I get: Installation stopped because the specified path (WhateverIPutIn) is invalid.

  • Activity tracking usecase for login tracking.

    - by Mdillion
Creating an activity tracking system for a social site. All user activiti from pooint of login til logoff are to be tracked. This means the first use case is the user's login. Every activity will have the same format so once I figure out how to track one activity then I can create chema for all activities. Currently for login I have steps like: Two solutions I have: Activity 1: User attempts to login Activity 2 A: User has successfully logged in Activity 2 B: User failed to login. Activity 2 B A: User failed to login due to invalid password Activity 2 B B: User failed to login due to locked account. OR Activty 1: User login - with result = Pass or Fail and if Fail reason = flag_id of reason. Accordingly I have to create the schema. For now I have it like this: activity_id object_id (fk) session_id (fk) user_id (fk) flag_id (fk) created_dt friend_id (fk) result (pass/fail) But ofcourse this a work in progress.

  • Using AesCryptoServiceProvider in VB.NET

    - by Collegeman
My problem is actually a bit more complicated than just how to use AES in VB.NET, since what I'm really trying to do is use AES in VB.NET from within a Java application across JACOB. But for now, what I need to focus on is the AES implementation itself. Here's my encryption code Public Function EncryptAES(ByVal toEncrypt As String, ByVal key As String) As Byte() Dim keyArray = Convert.FromBase64String(key) Dim toEncryptArray = Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(toEncrypt) Dim aes = New AesCryptoServiceProvider aes.Key = keyArray aes.Mode = CipherMode.ECB aes.Padding = PaddingMode.ISO10126 Dim encryptor = aes.CreateEncryptor() Dim encrypted = encryptor.TransformFinalBlock(toEncryptArray, 0, toEncryptArray.Length) aes.Clear() Return encrypted End Function Once back in the Java code, I turn the byte array into a hexadecimal String. Now, to reverse the process, here's my decryption code Public Function DecryptAES(ByVal toDecrypt As String, ByVal key As String) As Byte() Dim keyArray = Convert.FromBase64String(key) Dim toDecryptArray = Convert.FromBase64String(toDecrypt) Dim aes = New AesCryptoServiceProvider aes.Key = keyArray aes.Mode = CipherMode.ECB aes.Padding = PaddingMode.ISO10126 Dim decryptor = aes.CreateDecryptor() Dim decrypted = decryptor.TransformFinalBlock(toDecryptArray, 0, toDecryptArray.Length) aes.Clear() Return decrypted End Function When I run the decryption code, I get the following error message Padding is invalid and cannot be removed.

  • C# ASPNET MVC - How do you use ModelState.IsValid in a jquery/ajax postback?

    - by JK
From what I've seen ModelState.IsValid is only calculated by the MVC frame work on a full postback, is that true? I have a jquery postback like so: var url = "/path/to/controller/myaction"; var id = $("#Id").val(); var somedata = $("#somedata").val(); // repeated for every textbox $.post(url, { id: id, somedata: somedata }, function (data) { // etc }); And the controller action looks like: public JsonResult MyAction(MyModel modelInstance) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { // ... ModelState.IsValid is always true, even when there is invalid data } } But this does not seem to trigger ModelState.IsValid. For example if somedata is 5 characters long, but the DataAnnotation says [StringLength(3)] - in this case ModelStae.IsValid is still true, because it hasn't been triggered. Is there something special I need to do when making a jquery/ajax post instead of a full post? Thanks!
