  • Altering URLs and mapping - path_prefix? - Ruby on Rails...

    - by bgadoci
    Ok, so I am working on a blog application of sorts. Thus far, it allows for a user to sign up for their own account, create posts, tags, comments, etc. I have just implemented the ability to use www.myapp.com/brandon to set @user to find by username and therefore correctly display the users information at each url. So when you go to www.myapp.com/brandon you see all Brandon's posts, tags, and comments associated with those posts, etc. Works great. I implementing this URL mapping through the routes.rb file by adding the following: map.username_link '/:username', :controller => 'posts', :action => 'index' And then just setting the @user variable in the PostController and corresponding views to find_by_username. Now the issue is this. Once at www.myapp.com/brandon when you click on a post title, it sends to myapp.com/posts/id without the username in the URL which blows up my view because nothing is being set for the @user variable. How do I tell Rails to create the link reading www.myapp.com/brandon/posts/id vs www.myapp.com/posts/id and then map that action? I am assuming this will involve some code in the view, and then adding another line in the routes.rb file, map.subdomain_link '/:username/posts/:id', :controller => 'posts', :action => 'show' and adding the @user variable to the PostController#show action, but not totally sure if this is even the right approach. UPDATE: I have been reading about :path_prefix and seems like it might be what I am looking for. I have tried to implement simply by adding map.resources :posts, :path_prefix => '/:user_username/:post_id' to the routes.rb file but not working (even after server restart). I am sure this is not correct but wanted to let you know what I have tried.

  • maps, iterators, and complex structs - STL errors

    - by Austin Hyde
    So, I have two structs: struct coordinate { float x; float y; } struct person { int id; coordinate location; } and a function operating on coordinates: float distance(const coordinate& c1, const coordinate& c2); In my main method, I have the following code: map<int,person> people; // populate people map<int,map<float,int> > distance_map; map<int,person>::iterator it1,it2; for (it1=people.begin(); it1!=people.end(); ++it1) { for (it2=people.begin(); it2!=people.end(); ++it2) { float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); distance_map[it1->first][d] = it2->first; } } However, I get the following error upon build: stl_iterator_base_types.h: In instantiation of ‘std::iterator_traits<coordinate>’: stl_iterator_base_types.h:129: error: no type named ‘iterator_category’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:130: error: no type named ‘value_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:131: error: no type named ‘difference_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:132: error: no type named ‘pointer’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:133: error: no type named ‘reference’ in ‘struct coordinate’ And it blames it on the line: float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); Why does the STL complain about my code?

  • Access and modify attributes/objects which are not part of the form backing bean

    - by spa
    I use Spring MVC (via Spring Roo) to build a small web application for administering persons. In the page for creating a person the bean Person is used as form backing object (key "person" in the model map). <form:form action="${form_url}" method="POST" modelAttribute="person"> I would like to add some attributes to the model map which can be altered by the user in the creation form. Basically, I try to add a Boolean, so that I can control which page is displayed next after the user presses the submit button. I try to modify the Boolean (key "myBoolean" in the model map) using a simple checkbox: <form:checkbox id="_myboolean_id" path="myBoolean"/> However, as I am new to Spring MVC I have some difficulties here. The Boolean object is not an attribute of the form backing object. So if I try to access it the following exception is thrown (of course): Invalid property 'myBoolean' of bean class [de.cm.model.Person]: Bean property 'myBoolean' is not readable or has an invalid getter method: Does the return type of the getter match the parameter type of the setter? Is there are way to access a value of the model map directly? The only solution I can imagine right now is a kind of wrapper object around the class Person and my additional attributes which is used as a new form backing object. However, this is more work for a IMHO simple task. Do you have a better solution?

  • FIlling a Java Bean tree structure from a csv flat file

    - by Clem
    Hi, I'm currently trying to construct a list of bean classes in Java from a flat description file formatted in csv. Concretely : Here is the structure of the csv file : MES_ID;GRP_PARENT_ID;GRP_ID;ATTR_ID M1 ; ;G1 ;A1 M1 ; ;G1 ;A2 M1 ;G1 ;G2 ;A3 M1 ;G1 ;G2 ;A4 M1 ;G2 ;G3 ;A5 M1 ; ;G4 ;A6 M1 ; ;G4 ;A7 M1 ; ;G4 ;A8 M2 ; ;G1 ;A1 M2 ; ;G1 ;A2 M2 ; ;G2 ;A3 M2 ; ;G2 ;A4 It corresponds to the hierarchical data structure : M1 ---G1 ------A1 ------A2 ------G2 ---------A3 ---------A4 ---------G3 ------------A5 ------G4 ---------A7 ---------A8 M2 ---G1 ------A1 ------A2 ---G2 ------A3 ------A4 Remarks : A message M can have an infinite number of groups G and attributes A A group G can have an infinite number of attributes and an infinite number of under-groups each of them having under-groups too That beeing said, I'm trying to read this flat csv decription to store it in this structure of beans : Map<String, MBean> messages = new HashMap<String, Mbean>(); == public class MBean { private String mes_id; private Map<String, GBean> groups; } public class GBean { private String grp_id; private Map<String, ABean> attributes; private Map<String, GBean> underGroups; } public class ABean { private String attr_id; } Reading the csv file sequentially is ok and I've been investigating how to use recursion to store the description data, but couldn't find a way. Thanks in advance for any of your algorithmic ideas. I hope it will put you in the mood of thinking about this ... I've to admit that I'm out of ideas :s

    - by Lynnooi
    Hi, I'm trying to call a thread on a button click (btn_more) but i cant get it right. The thread is to get some data and update the images. The problem i have is if i only update 4 or 5 images then it works fine. But if i load more than 5 images i will get a force close. At times when the internet is slow I will face the same problem too. Can please help me to solve this problem or provide me some guidance? • JSF:Resourcebundle Problem with Internationalization

    - by Sven
    I implemented internationalization like in that tutorial! When I change the language in my app. It works. But only until the next request happens. Then language settings are reset to my standard language -.- What am I missing here: LanguageBean.java @ManagedBean(name="language") @SessionScoped public class LanguageBean implements Serializable{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private String localeCode; private static Map<String,Object> countries; static{ countries = new LinkedHashMap<String,Object>(); countries.put("Deutsch", Locale.GERMAN); //label, value countries.put("English", Locale.ENGLISH); } public Map<String, Object> getCountriesInMap() { return countries; } public String getLocaleCode() { return localeCode; } public void setLocaleCode(String localeCode) { this.localeCode = localeCode; } //value change event listener public void countryLocaleCodeChanged(ValueChangeEvent e){ String newLocaleValue = e.getNewValue().toString(); //loop country map to compare the locale code for (Map.Entry<String, Object> entry : countries.entrySet()) { if(entry.getValue().toString().equals(newLocaleValue)){ FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() .getViewRoot().setLocale((Locale)entry.getValue()); } } } } my facelets template: <h:selectOneMenu value="#{language.localeCode}" onchange="submit()" valueChangeListener="#{language.countryLocaleCodeChanged}"> <f:selectItems value="#{language.countriesInMap}" /> </h:selectOneMenu> faces-config: <application> <locale-config> <default-locale>de</default-locale> </locale-config> <resource-bundle> <base-name>org.dhbw.stg.wwi2008c.mopro.ui.text</base-name> <var>msg</var> </resource-bundle> </application>

  • Why can't I set boolean columns with update?

    - by Benjamin Oakes
    I'm making a user administration page. For the system I'm creating, users need to be approved. Sometimes, there will be many users to approve, so I'd like to make that easy. I'm storing this as a boolean column called approved. I remembered the Edit Multiple Individually Railscast and thought it would be a great fit. However, I'm running into problems which I traced back to ActiveRecord::Base#update. update works fine in this example: >> User.all.map(&:username) => ["ben", "fred"] >> h = {"1"=>{'username'=>'benjamin'}, "2"=>{"username"=>'frederick'}} => {"1"=>{"username"=>"benjamin"}, "2"=>{"username"=>"frederick"}} >> User.update(h.keys, h.values) => ... >> User.all.map(&:username) => ["benjamin", "frederick"] But not this one: >> User.all.map(&:approved) => [true, nil] >> h = {"1"=>{'approved'=>'1'}, "2"=>{'approved'=>'1'}} >> User.update(h.keys, h.values) => ... >> User.all.map(&:approved) => [true, nil] Chaging from '1' to true didn't make a difference when I tested. What am I doing wrong?

  • google maps api : internal server error when inserting a feature

    - by user142764
    Hi, I try to insert features on a custom google map : i use the sample code from the doc but i get a ServiceException (Internal server error) when i call the service's insert method. Here is what i do : I create a map and get the resulting MapEntry object : myMapEntry = (MapEntry) service.insert(mapUrl, myEntry); This works fine : i can see the map i created in "my maps" on google. I use the feed url from the map to insert a feature : final URL featureEditUrl = myMapEntry.getFeatureFeedUrl(); I create a kml string using the sample from the doc : String kmlStr = "< Placemark xmlns=\"http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2\">" + "<name>Aunt Joanas Ice Cream Shop</name>" + "<Point>" + "<coordinates>-87.74613826475604,41.90504663195118,0</ coordinates>" + "</Point></Placemark>"; And when i call the insert method i get an internal server error. I must be doing something wrong but i cant see what, can anybody help ? Here is the complete code i use : public void doCreateFeaturesFormap(MapEntry myMap) throws ServiceException, IOException { final URL featureEditUrl = myMap.getFeatureFeedUrl(); FeatureEntry featureEntry = new FeatureEntry(); try { String kmlStr = "<Placemark xmlns=\"http://www.opengis.net/kml/ 2.2\">" + "<name>Aunt Joanas Ice Cream Shop</name>" + "<Point>" + "<coordinates>-87.74613826475604,41.90504663195118,0</ coordinates>" + "</Point></Placemark>"; XmlBlob kml = new XmlBlob(); kml.setFullText(kmlStr); featureEntry.setKml(kml); featureEntry.setTitle(new PlainTextConstruct("Feature Title")); } catch (NullPointerException e) { System.out.println("Error: " + e.getClass().getName()); } FeatureEntry myFeature = (FeatureEntry) service.insert( featureEditUrl, featureEntry); } Thanks in advance, Vincent.

  • google maps api v2 - dynamic load (tens of thousands of) markers

    - by Adam
    Hello, how made with JavaScript+PHP+MYSQL and Google Maps API v2 dynamic load of markers? atm I have map follow example http://googlemapsapi.martinpearman.co.uk/infusions/google_maps_api/basic_page.php?map_id=8 but my marker_data_01.php (where are all markers listed - look code of example) have atm 4MB and will only have more, and more. So the question is: how load only this markers to marker_data_01.php (of some other modification of it, can be on same file as map, meaningless, I load it all from MySQL atm) what I look now: so for example (I dont know what number will good but I write this only for show what I wanna made OR JUST something like it), so top left corner for example have position: 10, top right corner for example have position: 30, bottom left corner for example have position: 5, bottom right corner for example have position: 15. -- so load only this markers what are in this box 10-30-5-15 with for example GET, and when I move map for example to 17-12-48-20 box then made next GET request and with this mysql quote and download next markers that what I see now, with this I can have map with unlimited markers, and when will be a lot of markers then clustering can link them, so with this ppl dont will need do "preload" of all markers DB (what have 4mb now and will have more), but only download that what they see at the moment, I know that is possible because a lot sites have it but I am not master of code langs, I know only a bit php and mysql (and html) :) // sorry for my english

  • NHibernate Child items query using Parent Id

    - by thorkia
    So I have a set up similar to this questions: Parent Child Setup Everything works great when saving the parent and the children. However, I seem to have a problem when selecting the children. I can't seem to get all the children with a specific parent. This fails with: NHibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: ParentEntity_id of: Test.Data.ChildEntity Here is my code: public IEnumerable<ChildEntity> GetByParent(ParentEntity parent) { using (ISession session = OrmHelper.OpenSession()) { return session.CreateCriteria<ChildEntity>().Add(Restrictions.Eq("ParentEntity_id ", parent.Id)).List<ChildEntity>(); } } Any help in building a proper function to get all the items would be appreciated. Oh, I am using Fluent NHibernate to construct the mappings - version 1 RTM and NHibernate 2.1.2 GA If you need more information, let me know. As per you request, my fluent mappings: public ParentEntityMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Name); Map(x => x.Code).UniqueKey("ukCode"); HasMany(x => x.ChildEntity).LazyLoad() .Inverse().Cascade.SaveUpdate(); } public ChildEntityMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Amount); Map(x => x.LogTime); References(x => x.ParentEntity); } That maps to the following 2 tables: CREATE TABLE "ParentEntity" ( Id integer, Name TEXT, Code TEXT, primary key (Id), unique (Code) ) CREATE TABLE "ChildEntity" ( Id integer, Amount NUMERIC, LogTime DATETIME, ParentEntity_id INTEGER, primary key (Id) ) The data store in SQLite.

  • COM-Objects containing maps / content error(0)

    - by Florian Berzsenyi
    I'm writing a small wrapper to get familiar with some important topics in C++ (WinAPI, COM, STL,OOP). For now, my class shall be able to create a (child) window. Mainly, this window is connected to a global message loop that distribute messages to a local loop of the right instance (global is static, local is virtual). Obviously, there are surely better ways to do that but I'm using std::maps to store HWND and their instance pointer in pairs (the Global loop looks for the pointer with the HWND-parameter, gets itself the pointer from the map and calls then the local loop). Now, it appears that the map does not accept any values because of a unknown reason. It seems to allocate enough space but something went wrong anyway [ (error) 0 is displayed instead of the entries in visual C++). I've looked that up in google as well and found out that maps cause some trouble when used in classes AND DLLs. May this be the reason and is there any solution?? Protected scope of class: static std::map<HWND,MAP_BASE_OBJECT*> m_LoopBuf Implementation in .cpp-file: std::map<HWND,MAP_BASE_OBJECT*> HWindow::m_LoopBuf;

  • Java assignment issues - Is this atomic?

    - by Bob
    Hi, I've got some questions about Java's assigment. Strings I've got a class: public class Test { private String s; public synchronized void setS(String str){ s = s + " - " + str; } public String getS(){ return s; } } I'm using "synchronized" in my setter, and avoiding it in my getter, because in my app, there are a tons of data gettings, and very few settings. Settings must be synchronized to avoid inconsistency. My question is: is getting and setting a variable atomic? I mean, in a multithreaded environment, Thread1 is about to set variable s, while Thread2 is about to get "s". Is there any way the getter method could get something different than the s's old value or the s's new value (suppose we've got only two threads)? In my app it is not a problem to get the new value, and it is not a problem to get the old one. But could I get something else? What about HashMap's getting and putting? considering this: public class Test { private Map<Integer, String> map = Collections.synchronizedMap(new HashMap<Integer, String>()); public synchronized void setMapElement(Integer key, String value){ map.put(key, value); } public String getValue(Integer key){ return map.get(key); } } Is putting and getting atomic? How does HashMap handle putting an element into it? Does it first remove the old value and put the now one? Could I get other than the old value or the new value? Thanks in advance!

I build the map like this in my autoload function: $class_paths = apc_fetch('class_paths'); // If the class path is stored in application cache - search finished. if (isset($class_paths[$class])) { return require_once $class_paths[$class]; // Otherwise search in known places } else { // List of places to look for class $paths = array( '/src/', '/modules/', '/libs/', ); // Search directories and store path in cache if found. foreach ($paths as $path) { $file = DOC_ROOT . $path . $class . '.php'; if (file_exists($file)) { echo 'File was found in => ' . $file . '<br />'; $class_paths[$class] = $file; apc_store('class_paths', $class_paths); return require_once $file; } } } I can see as more and more classes are loaded, they are added to the map, but at some point the apc_fetch returns NULL in the middle of a page request, instead of returning the map. Getting => class_paths Array ( [MCS\CMS\Helper\LayoutHelper] => /Users/mbl/Documents/Projects/mcs_ibob/core/trunk/src/MCS/CMS/Helper/LayoutHelper.php [MCS\CMS\Model\Spot] => /Users/mbl/Documents/Projects/mcs_ibob/core/trunk/src/MCS/CMS/Model/Spot.php ) Getting => class_paths {null} Many times the cached value will also be gone between page requests. What could be the reason for this? I'm using APC as an extension (PECL) running PHP 5.3.

  • Reset variable in javascrtp (jQuery)

    - by superUntitled
    I am trying to reset a variable (that updates the src value for an image) when an area of an image map is clicked, so that the hover function calls a different image when the user hovers over another area in the image map. I have a variable called "state" that I set right off the bat. This is the variable that I want to reset when an area is clicked. var state = "path/to/images/feed1.png"; I have a couple of functions involving hover() and click(). $("#Map area").click( function () { var button = $(this).attr("id"); // here is where i want to reset the 'state' variable var state = "path/to/images/" + button + ".png"; alert("you clicked "+button+" hello"); return false; } ); $("#Map area").hover( function () { var button = $(this).attr("id"); over("path/to/images/" + button + ".png"); }, function () { off(); }); And some functions that these functions call: function over(image) { $("#feednavImg").attr("src", image); } function off() { $("#feednavImg").attr("src", state); }

  • How do I get rid of these warnings?

    - by Brian Postow
    This is really several questions, but anyway... I'm working with a big project in XCode, relatively recently ported from MetroWorks (Yes, really) and there's a bunch of warnings that I want to get rid of. Every so often an IMPORTANT warning comes up, but I never look at them because there's too many garbage ones. So, if I can either figure out how to get XCode to stop giving the warning, or actually fix the problem, that would be great. Here are the warnings: It claims that <map.h> is antiquated. However, when I replace it with <map> my files don't compile. Evidently, there's something in map.h that isn't in map... this decimal constant is unsigned only in ISO C90 This is a large number being compared to an unsigned long. I have even cast it, with no effect. enumeral mismatch in conditional expression: <anonymous enum> vs <anonymous enum> This appears to be from a ?: operator. Possibly that the then and else branches don't evaluate to the same type? Except that in at least one case, it's (matchVp == NULL ? noErr : dupFNErr) And since those are both of type OSErr, which is mac defined... I'm not sure what's up. It also seems to come up when I have other pairs of mac constants... multi-character character constant This one is obvious. The problem is that I actually NEED multi-character constants... -fwritable-strings not compatible with literal CF/NSString I unchecked the "Strings are Read-Only" box in both the project and target settings... and it seems to have had no effect...

  • Why are my Fluent NHibernate SubClass Mappings generating redundant columns?

    - by Brook
    I'm using Fluent NHibernate 1.x build 694, built against NH 3.0 I have the following entities public abstract class Card { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual string Description { get; set; } public virtual Product Product { get; set; } public virtual Sprint Sprint { get; set; } } public class Story:Card { public virtual double Points { get; set; } public virtual int Priority { get; set; } public virtual IList<Task> Tasks { get; set; } } And the following mappings public class CardMap:ClassMap<Card> { public CardMap() { Id(c => c.Id) .Index("Card_Id"); Map(c => c.Name) .Length(50) .Not.Nullable(); Map(c => c.Description) .Length(1024) .Not.Nullable(); References(c=>c.Product) .Not.Nullable(); References(c=>c.Sprint) .Nullable(); } } public class StoryMap : SubclassMap<Story> { public StoryMap() { Map(s => s.Points); Map(s => s.Priority); HasMany(s => s.Tasks); } } When I generate my Schema, the tables are created as follows Card --------- Id Name Description Product_id Sprint_id Story ------------ Card_id Points Priority Product_id Sprint_id What I would have expected would have been to see the columns Product_id and Sprint_id ONLY in the Card table, not the Story table. What am I doing wrong or misunderstanding?

  • Hadoop reduce task gets hung

    - by user806098
    I set up a hadoop cluster with 4 nodes, When running a map-reduce task, the map task finishes quickly, while the reduce task hangs at 27% percent. I checked the log, it's that the reduce task fails to fetch map output from map nodes. The job tracker log of master shows messages like this: 2011-06-27 19:55:14,748 INFO org.apache.hadoop.mapred.JobTracker: Adding task (REDUCE) 'attempt_201106271953_0001_r_000000_0' to tip task_201106271953_0001_r_000000, for tracker 'tracker_web30.bbn.com.cn:localhost/127.0.0.1:56476' And the name node log of master shows messages like this: 2011-06-27 14:00:52,898 INFO org.apache.hadoop.ipc.Server: IPC Server handler 4 on 54310, call register(DatanodeRegistration(202.106.199.39:50010, storageID=DS-1989397900-202.106.199.39-50010-1308723051262, infoPort=50075, ipcPort=50020)) from 192.168.225.19:16129: error: java.io.IOException: verifyNodeRegistration: unknown datanode 202.106.199.3 9:50010 However, neither the "web30.bbn.com.cn" or 202.106.199.39, 202.106.199.3 is the slave node. I think such ip/domains appear because hadoop fails to resolve a node(first in the Intranet DNS server), then it goes to a higher-level DNS server, later to the top, still fails, then the "junk" ip/domains are returned. But I checked my config, it goes like this: /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6 192.168.225.16 master 192.168.225.66 slave1 192.168.225.20 slave5 192.168.225.17 slave17 conf/core-site.xml: hadoop.tmp.dir /root/hadoop_tmp/hadoop_${user.name} fs.default.name hdfs://master:54310 io.sort.mb 1024 hdfs-site.xml: dfs.replication 3 masters: master slaves: master slave1 slave5 slave17 Also, all firewalls(iptables) are turned off, and ssh between each 2 nodes is ok. so I don't know where exact the error comes from. Please help. Thanks a lot.

  • Draw a position from a 2d Array on respected canvas location

    - by Anon
    Background: I have two 2d arrays. Each index within each 2d array represents a tile which is drawn on a square canvas suitable for 8 x 8 tiles. The first 2d array represents the ground tiles and is looped and drawn on the canvas using the following code: //Draw the map from the land 2d array map = new Canvas(mainFrame, 20, 260, 281, 281); for(int i=0; i < world.length; i++){ for(int j=0; j < world[i].length; j++){ for(int x=0; x < 280; x=x+35){ for(int y=0; y < 280; y=y+35){ Point p = new Point(x,y); map.add(new RectangleObject(p,35,35,Colour.green)); } } } } This creates a grid of green tiles 8 x 8 across as intended. The second 2d array represents the position on the ground. This 2d array has everyone of its indexes as null apart from one which is comprised of a Person class. Problem I am unsure of how I can draw the position on the grid. I was thinking of a similar loop, so it draws over the previous 2d array another set of 64 tiles. Only this time they are all transparent but the one tile which isn't null. In other words, the tile where Person is located. I wanted to use a search throughout the loop using a comparative if statement along the lines of if(!(world[] == null)){ map.add(new RectangleObject(p,35,35,Colour.red));} However my knowledge is limited and I am confused on how to implement it.

  • [F#] Parallelize code in nested loops

    - by Juliet
    You always hear that functional code is inherently easier to parallelize than non-functional code, so I decided to write a function which does the following: Given a input of strings, total up the number of unique characters for each string. So, given the input [ "aaaaa"; "bbb"; "ccccccc"; "abbbc" ], our method will returns a: 6; b: 6; c: 8. Here's what I've written: (* seq<#seq<char>> -> Map<char,int> *) let wordFrequency input = input |> Seq.fold (fun acc text -> (* This inner loop can be processed on its own thread *) text |> Seq.choose (fun char -> if Char.IsLetter char then Some(char) else None) |> Seq.fold (fun (acc : Map<_,_>) item -> match acc.TryFind(item) with | Some(count) -> acc.Add(item, count + 1) | None -> acc.Add(item, 1)) acc ) Map.empty This code is ideally parallelizable, because each string in input can be processed on its own thread. Its not as straightforward as it looks since the innerloop adds items to a Map shared between all of the inputs. I'd like the inner loop factored out into its own thread, and I don't want to use any mutable state. How would I re-write this function using an Async workflow?

  • Simplest PHP Routing framework .. ?

    - by David
    I'm looking for the simplest implementation of a routing framework in PHP, in a typical PHP environment (Running on Apache, or maybe nginx) .. It's the implementation itself I'm mostly interested in, and how you'd accomplish it. I'm thinking it should handle URL's, with the minimal rewriting possible, (is it really a good idea, to have the same entrypoint for all dynamic requests?!), and it should not mess with the querystring, so I should still be able to fetch GET params with $_GET['var'] as you'd usually do.. So far I have only come across .htaccess solutions that puts everything through an index.php, which is sort of okay. Not sure if there are other ways of doing it. How would you "attach" what URL's fit to what controllers, and the relation between them? I've seen different styles. One huge array, with regular expressions and other stuff to contain the mapping. The one I think I like the best is where each controller declares what map it has, and thereby, you won't have one huge "global" map, but a lot of small ones, each neatly separated. So you'd have something like: class Root { public $map = array( 'startpage' => 'ControllerStartPage' ); } class ControllerStartPage { public $map = array( 'welcome' => 'WelcomeControllerPage' ); } // Etc ... Where: 'http://myapp/' // maps to the Root class 'http://myapp/startpage' // maps to the ControllerStartPage class 'http://myapp/startpage/welcome' // maps to the WelcomeControllerPage class 'http://myapp/startpage/?hello=world' // Should of course have $_GET['hello'] == 'world' What do you think? Do you use anything yourself, or have any ideas? I'm not interested in huge frameworks already solving this problem, but the smallest possible implementation you could think of. I'm having a hard time coming up with a solution satisfying enough, for my own taste. There must be something pleasing out there that handles a sane bootstrapping process of a PHP application without trying to pull a big magic hat over your head, and force you to use "their way", or the highway! ;)

  • AJAX PopupControl Extender with Bing Maps

    - by Morano88
    Hey! I want to use AJAX PopupControl Extender with a text box so when a user clicks on the text box a popup that contains the Bing Map appears. I'm using the following code but I don't know why it is not working ? <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"> </asp:ScriptManager> <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Font-Bold="true" Font-Size="14px" Text="Click inside the textbox to open AJAX Popup Control:"></asp:Label> <div class="clear"><br /></div> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" CssClass="textbox" runat="server" Width="200px"></asp:TextBox> <html> <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=6.2"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var map = null; function GetMap() { map = new VEMap('myMap'); map.LoadMap(new VELatLong(47.6, -122.33), 10 ,'h' ,false); } </script> </head> <body onload="GetMap();"> <div id='myMap' style="position:relative; width:400px; height:400px;"></div> </body> </html> <ajaxToolkit:PopupControlExtender ID="PopupControlExtender1" runat="server" CommitProperty="foreColor" Position="Right" TargetControlID="TextBox1" PopupControlID="myMap" OffsetX="2" OffsetY="2"> </ajaxToolkit:PopupControlExtender> what's wrong ?

  • Fluent NHibernate Repository with subclasses

    - by reallyJim
    Having some difficulty understanding the best way to implement subclasses with a generic repository using Fluent NHibernate. I have a base class and two subclasses, say: public abstract class Person { public virtual int PersonId { get; set; } public virtual string FirstName { get; set; } public virtual string LastName { get; set; } } public class Student : Person { public virtual decimal GPA { get; set; } } public class Teacher : Person { public virtual decimal Salary { get; set; } } My Mappings are as follows: public class PersonMap : ClassMap { public PersonMap() { Table("Persons"); Id(x => x.PersonId).GeneratedBy.Identity(); Map(x => x.FirstName); Map(x => x.LastName); } } public class StudentMap : SubclassMap<Student> { public StudentMap() { Table("Students"); KeyColumn("PersonId"); Map(x => x.GPA); } } public class TeacherMap : SubclassMap<Teacher> { public TeacherMap() { Table("Teachers"); KeyColumn("PersonId"); Map(x => x.Salary); } } I use a generic repository to save/retreive/update the entities, and it works great--provided I'm working with Repository--where I already know that I'm working with students or working with teachers. The problem I run into is this: What happens when I have an ID, and need to determine the TYPE of person? If a user comes to my site as PersonId = 23, how do I go about figuring out which type of person it is?

  • How to force div to appear below not next to another?

    - by Vafello
    I would like to place my div below the list, but actually it is placed next to the list.The list is generated dynamically, so it doesn't have a fixed hight. I would like to have the map div on the right, and on the left (next to the map) the list placed on top and the second div below the list. #map { float:left; width:700px; height:500px; } #list { float:left; width:200px; background:#eee; list-style:none; padding:0; } #similar { float:left; width:200px; background:#000; } <div id="map"></div> <ul id="list"></ul> <div id ="similar"> this text should be below, not next to ul. </div> Any ideas?

  • Clicking inside a polygon in Google Maps

    - by amarsh-anand
    The included JavaScript snippet is supposed to do the following: As the user clicks on the map, initialize headMarker and draw a circle (polygon) around it As the user clicks inside the circle, initialize tailMarker and draw the path between these two markers 1 is happening as expected. But as the user clicks inside the circle, in the function(overlay,point), overlay is non-null while point is null. Because of this, the code fails to initialize tailMarker. Can someone tell me a way out. GEvent.addListener(map, "click", function(overlay,point) { if (isCreateHeadPoint) { // add the head marker headMarker = new GMarker(point,{icon:redIcon,title:'0'}); map.addOverlay(headMarker); isCreateHeadPoint = false; // draw the circle drawMapCircle(point.lat(),point.lng(),1,'#cc0000',2,0.8,'#0',0.1); } else { // add the tail marker tailMarker = new GMarker(point,{icon:greenIcon,title:''}); map.addOverlay(tailMarker); isCreateHeadPoint = true; // load thes path from head to tail direction.load("from:" + headMarker.getPoint().lat()+ ", " + headMarker.getPoint().lng()+ " " + "to:" + tailMarker.getPoint().lat() + "," + tailMarker.getPoint().lng(), {getPolyline:true}); } });
