  • ant compile problem

    If I start ant compile in JDeveloper all classes are compiled successfully and copied to the classes folder. But if I run ant compile from console then no classes are copied to the classes folder. Does anyone know why?   • wrapping boost::ublas with swig

    I am trying to pass data around the numpy and boost::ublas layers. I have written an ultra thin wrapper because swig cannot parse ublas' header correctly. However when I simply run a = dvector(array([1.,2.,3.])) it gives me a segfault. This is the first time I use swigh with numpy and not have fully understanding between the data conversion and memory buffer passing. Does anyone see something obvious I have missed? I have tried to trace through with a debugger but it crashed within the assmeblys of python.exe. I have no clue if this is a swig problem or of my simple wrapper. Anything is appreciated.

  • PerlIO in Windows PowerShell and CMD.exe

    Apparently, a Perl script I have results in two different output files depending on if I run it under Windows PowerShell, or cmd.exe. The script can be found at the bottom of this question. The file handle is opened with IO::File, I believe that PerlIO is doing some screwy stuff. It seems as if under cmd.exe the encoding chosen is much more compact encoding (4.09 KB), as compared to PowerShell which generates a file nearly twice the size (8.19 KB). This script takes a shell script and generates a Windows batch file. It seems like the one generated under cmd.exe is just regular ASCII (1 byte character), while the other one appears to be UTF-16 (first two bytes FF FE) Can someone verify and explain why PerlIO works differently under Windows Powershell than cmd.exe? Also, how do I explicitly get an ASCII-magic PerlIO filehandle using IO::File? Currently, only the file generated with cmd.exe is executable. The UTF-16 .bat (I think that's the encoding) is not executable by either PowerShell or cmd.exe.   • Request Entity Too Large error while uploading files of more than 128KB over SSL

    We have a web portal setup on Java spring framework. It running on tomcat app server. Portal is served through apache web server connected to tomcat through JK connector. Entire portal is HTTPS enabled using 443 port of apache. Apache version is : Apache/2.4.2 (Unix). it is the latest stable version of apache web server. Whenever we try to upload files more than 128 KB into the portal, We are facing 413 error: Request Entity Too Large The requested resource /teamleadchoachingtracking/doFileUpload does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit. In the apache error log we get the following errors: AH02018: request body exceeds maximum size (131072) for SSL buffer AH02257: could not buffer message body to allow SSL renegotiation to proceed We did search over google and there were suggestions to put SSLRenegBufferSize as some high value like 10MB. Based on these suggestions, we had put the following entry in virtualhost section of httpd config file: SSLRenegBufferSize 10486000 But still the error persists. Also we have specified SSLVerifyClient none, but still renegotiation is happening. This is a very inconsistent and frustrating error. Any help will be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

  • WebSeal and jsp content updated by Ajax

    Hey, I have a problem running an application on environment with WebSeal. It is a web application with Java server that contains many parts that are replcaed within the page according to user input. For instance - a form called Outer.jsp may contain a form:options combo-box (by spring-forms), that uppon selection of an option, a certain Div is updated with a content produced by a jsp and fetched by an Ajax call (the ajax impementation in the client is done by Prototype JavaScript framework 1.5.1.2). Let's call the content fetched by ajax - Inner.jsp So Outer.jsp is fetching Inner.jsp, which in turn uses js functions in files included by the Outer.jsp. This, I think, is where my problem starts - Inner.jsp is not familiar with any of the functions included in Outer.jsp. And so, almost any operation performed by Inner.jsp is failing miserably. Needless to say - this works perfect when running on environment without WebSeal. Note that the scripting is enabled in WebSeal junction (with the -J option). I also see that the content returned by the Ajax call includes a document.cookie added by WebSeal (not sure it matters to this problem) Can anyone assist? Thanks! Lior

  • RTL8192SU Linux Issue Installing Driver

    OK I've read tons of fourms of people getting the onboard RTL8192SE working and the RTL8192SU working dif is U = USB they are both N and i have both Toshiba L500D-00T pre-installed Win Vistax64-HP and i have obtained the free Win7x64-HP upgrade the onboard wificard sucks and can't hold a stable connection for more then 20minutes in windows but the usb is amazing. Now problem is i tried both Ubuntu and Mandriva with no resolve the issue is the onboard drive detects and actually SHOWS that it's there but no wireless networks detect so it's saying no SSID's are broadcasting which i know is a lie since I'm running a 2wire bell dsl modem with built in wifi and a Linksys wrt54g w/ DD-WRT firmware and both are broadcasting fine. Why don't i use the USB? In the hardware device manager in mandriva it shows up as unknown but shows that it's realtek and that it's a 8192 chipset. but no option to for a driver install and when i do a make in terminal i get this error and no clue what it means [root@John-PC rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0010.1020.2009_64bit]# make make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.31.12-desktop-3mnb/build: No such file or directory.   • Is 30 calls / second a lot for one IIS server?

    We have a RIA application that 300 clients concurrently use in an intranet environment. Together they make 30 calls / second to IIS (asp.net) (actually it's 60 but calls are loadbalanced over two IIS servers). Half of the calls is getting an asset (Caching Profile is used so most of the time cache is hit), the other half is saving data to a sql server. Retrieving an asset is done with a aspx page. Saving the data happens via WebORB, asp.net and Sql Server. So some processing is needed by WebORB (amf decoding, GZIP, ...). We also use Spring.NET, and some of the container objects have a request scope (not a lot). IIS servers -- Virtual machines, 4 CPU, 2 gb RAM. They are based on Windows 2008 x64 SP2 Enterprise Edition. Sql Server 2008 is used. Apparently CPU of both IIS serers is constantly around 60-70%. Now, my question, is the load of 60-70% acceptable and how could we possible bring that down to less % (maybe using only one IIS server)? + Is 2 gb RAM enough? Assets can be up to 20mb, but on average, they are about 30kb. (the load of 60-70% is achieved with assets around 30kb). The data that gets saved with weborb is very small (2kb) and is just one object.

  • Strange ASP.NET Queue Performance Counters Behavior?

    We have an ASP.NET 2.0 site running in classic mode. I am seeing very strange behavior in the performance counter values. Perhaps these are bugs (I've been all over Google trying to verify this, without much luck), or perhaps it is just my inexperience with monitoring these things. This PerfMon graph (http://imgur.com/Jv5io5J) represents a load test where I add up to 350 virtual users to the site, at a rate of about 1/sec, performing relatively simple page browsing. At the end of the test, I gradually taper off the number of users. This is a 4 CPU server. Machine.config settings for are at the defaults. The solid blue line is ASP.NET Apps v2.x\Requests Executing for the application in question. The profile makes perfect sense, with a quick ramp-up to 32 executing requests (minWorkerThreads x 4CPUs), followed by a slower ramp-up to 48 ((maxWorkerThreads - minWorkerThreads) x 4CPUs). The solid yellow line is ASP.NET v2.x\Requests Queued. Again, this makes sense: after the initial 32 request threads are activated, the queue begins to build as new thread initialization can't keep pace with incoming requests. But as executing requests reaches its highest possible value of 48, the counter for ASP.NET Apps v2.x\Requests Queued (green solid line) suddenly springs to life and maintains step with the yellow counter. As far as I can tell, and with no other apps running on the server, these two counters should have had the same values from the start. One other odd thing: The counter for ASP.NET v2.x\Request Wait Time (dotted yellow line) also does not spring to life until executing requests reaches 48. Shouldn't I be seeing values here from the moment ASP.NET v2.x\Requests Queued begins to build? And likewise, why would ASP.NET Apps v2.x\Request Execution Time (dotted blue) increase significantly only after that peak of 48 is reached? Shouldn't it ramp-up gradually along with queued requests?

  • How to solve SocketException: Permission denied: connect

    I recently encountered a problem that is giving me a headache and I need help ... The System consists of two subsystems, called A and B, each running on a standalone Tomcat instance and currently running on the same machine. A invokes B's service via Spring httpInvoker (i.e. over HTTP). B system also invokes the other system's services via HTTP. Symptoms: the system starts to run and appears to work normally for around 10-15 days; the system will run for a period of time after an exception: org.springframework.remoting.RemoteAccessException: Could not access HTTP invoker remote service at [http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/remoting/call]; The nested exception is java. net.SocketException: **Permission denied: connect** when the exception occurs, the system continues. This happens always, not only occasionally. (It looks like some resources are exhausted, but CPU rate < 5%, memory < 15%, network < 5%). when the system call between A and B fails, the B system call over HTTP to an external service also failed, with the same exception. Restarting both Tomcat services makes the whole system work properly. So repeatedly following steps 1 - 5, I have not found the root reason. Environment: windows 2008 R2 tomcat7.0.42 x86_64 oralce-jdk-1.7.0_40 Any ideas?

  • Adding new SPNs to existing service ids

    We have a tomcat server using spring-security kerberos to authenticate users to the webpage against active directory. There are around 25 domain controllers. The site has two CNAME based DNS aliases. The site currently has one Service ID with SPNs registered for the DNS A record as well as each of the CNAMEs. While everything is working right now, I don't know how to reliably change this configuration without possible downtime. The reason is that clients cache kerberos tickets: http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/uac4.2/topics/concept/user-role-active-directory-about.html The 'kerbtray.exe' program is helpful for viewing and deleting Kerberos tickets on the endpoint. Old tickets must be purged from the endpoint if SPNs are updated or passwords are changed (assuming the endpoint still has a cached copy of the ticket from a prior SPNEGO request to the MAG Series device. During testing, you should purge tickets before each authentication request. Description of "klist" program used to inspect/delete cached tickets: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh134826.aspx So if each of the clients (users running windows) who connect to my web server have kerberos tickets that become invalid as soon as I update the SPNs or passwords, how do I ensure changes are seamless? Are there any operations that can be done safely? I can't just ask all of the users to install klist and delete their old tickets.

For mysql, the value of global 'wait_timeout' and 'interactive_timeout' is set to 3600 seconds and 'connect_timeout' is set to 60 secs. the wait timeout value is much higher than the 26 secs(25899 msecs). mentioned in the exception trace.     OK I've read tons of fourms of people getting the onboard RTL8191E working and the RTL8192SU working dif is U = USB they are both N and i have both Toshiba L500D-00T pre-installed Win Vistax64-HP and i have obtained the free Win7x64-HP upgrade the onboard wificard sucks and can't hold a stable connection for more then 20minutes in windows but the usb is amazing. Now problem is i tried both Ubuntu and Mandriva with no resolve the issue is the onboard drive detects and actually SHOWS that it's there but no wireless networks detect so it's saying no SSID's are broadcasting which i know is a lie since I'm running a 2wire bell dsl modem with built in wifi and a Linksys wrt54g w/ DD-WRT firmware and both are broadcasting fine. Why don't i use the USB? new in Mandriva Linux Control Center 2010.0 it shows up in Other/Unknown as RTL8191S WLAN Adapter and on the right pane this shows up Identification Vendor: ?Manufacturer Realtek Description: ?RTL8191S WLAN Adapter Media class: ?     I've got 6 drives (each 1.5T, all same model and firmware revision) that are part of a RAID5 array. The RAID5 makes a LVM volume group and a logical group. The latter contains only one ext3 partition. I've recently ran: e2fsck -f /dev/vg03/lv01 && resize2fs -M /dev/vg03/lv01 which exited without an error. Now when I try to mount /dev/vg03/lv01 I get: EXT3-fs error (device dm-0): ext3_check_descriptors: Block bitmap for group 30533 not in group (block 1000532368)! EXT3-fs: group descriptors corrupted! How do I get out of this predicament? This is all the info I can currently give you: fdisk -l /dev/sd[cdefgh] shows (correctly) that they are "Linux raid autodetect" but fdisk now shows: fdisk -l /dev/md0 Disk /dev/md0: 7501.5 GB, 7501495664640 bytes ...     I'm trying to fix a laptop keyboard that has issues with keys on its left side. Just by feel, it's clear that something sticky got under there. There could be something crunchy too, but that might just be the sound of the key's spring releasing itself from the sticky. I don't know the cause because it's not my computer and the owner isn't sure, but I'm guessing soda spill for now. The computer is an HP dv2500. I've removed the keyboard and blown under it but that hasn't helped. I didn't use compressed air because I just don't have any available, but I suspect it wouldn't help with sticky. So, I'd like to pop they keys off and clean with damp cotton swabs or similar. Is there a proper way to remove the keys? I've found some instructions via Google for non-laptop keyboards, but they don't seem like they'd work for me. Alternate solutions to the problem also welcome, but I've been curious about how to remove the keys for some time for other reasons.

    Im not sure if this is a math question or a su question. The experiment was relating the period of one "bounce" when you hang a weight on a spring and let it bounce. I have this data here, one being mass and one being time. The time is an average of 5 trials, each one being and average of 20 bounces, to minimize human error. t 0.3049s 0.3982s 0.4838s 0.5572s 0.6219s 0.6804s 0.7362s 0.7811s 0.8328s 0.869s The mass is the mass that was used in each trial (they aren't going up in exact differences because each weight has a slight difference, nothing is perfect in the real world) m 50.59g 100.43g 150.25g 200.19g 250.89g 301.16g 351.28g 400.79g 450.43g 499.71g My problem is that I need to find the relationship between them, I know m = (k/4PI^2)*T^2 so I can work out k like that but we need to graph it. I can assume that the relationship is a sqrt relation, not sure on that one. But it appears to be the reverse of a square. Should it be 1/x^2 then? Either way my problem is still present, I have tried 1/x, 1/x^2, sqrt, x^2, none of them produce a straight line. The problem for SU is that when I go to graph the data on Excel I set the y axis data (which is the weights) and then when I go to set the x axis (which is the time) it just replaces the y axis with what I want to be the x axis, this is only happening when I have the sqrt of "m" as the y axis and I try to set the x axis as the time. The problem of math is that, am I even using the right thing? To get a straight line it would need to be x = y^1/2 right? I thought I was doing the right thing, it is what we were told to do. I'm just not getting anything that looks right.

    up front -- definitely NOT a mission-critical kind of question. after a 'spring cleaning' of my local office, i've ended up with two 'spare' GigE switches at my home/office -- one managed, capable of VLANs, QoS, etc, and the other unmanaged. i've got more ports than i need. in fact EACH switch has more total ports than i need. but, since i can't have these just sitting around not doing SOMETHING ... ;-) i'm interested in ideas for best combined use of these switches. my local topology is simple: [ net ] -- [ adsl2 modem ] -- [linux firewall/router/DNS ] _______________| | [ some arrangement of the 2 GigE switches ] | ( ... stuff on the lan ... ) [WAP1] [voip ATA] [printer] [desktop1] [mail server] [Xen server [desktop2] ( mostly dev, [desktop3] + file server [desktop4] + media server)] the MailServer is a production mail server the XenServer serves some low vol to the 'net; the MediaServer guest serves ONLY to the LAN is there, e.g., any performance value in segmenting off any of the LAN using the managed switch (VLAN? QoS tagging? something?), feeding the rest into the connected unmanaged switch? or should i simply use one of the switches & be done with it, and use the other for a coffee-cup stand?

  • troubleshooting postifx -> exchange connection issues

    I have three linux-based mail routers that run postfix and relay mail to our on-premise exchange server as well as to outlook.com, splitting the mail based on ldap atttributes. What I've observed sporadically since upgrading this spring from Exchange 2007 to 2010 is that all three of the mail relays will, for about 20 minutes, fail to connect to exchange. Postfix logs it as "lost connection with exchange.contosso.edu" ; this problem almost always occurs to all three mail relays at the same time, and lasts for slightly under 20 minutes. If I can catch it while it's occuring, and I manually do "telnet exchange.contosso.edu 25" from one mail relay and force a message through (helo, mail from, rcpt to, data, etc), then it clears that relay up. The exchange "server" is actually two machines with the HT role on them, load balanced via windows NLB. I've worked pretty hard to figure out what's happening from the postfix side and I can't see any evidence of any misbehavior. My question is, how do I attack the problem from the exchange side? Is there a connection log, or a debug setting, or something I can do to log all of the inbound connections and tell me what's causing exchange to drop them?

  • FDE / SSD - partition and leave some unencrypted?

    Just bought a used beast of a desktop pc. The system drive is setup as a Raid 0 SSD (Intel 510 SSD Drives) with 128 each. I will probably not have to many programs beyond office and maybe Adobe CS if I spring for it, I will be keeping big data on a regular hdd. My question is about setting up TrueCrypt with my configuration. I have not previously done full disk encryption, but I feel that its probably a good idea. I have done some speed tests using file containers on the hdd and the sdd with truecrypt. While there is a huge hit with the SSDs and Truecrypt, it still outperforms the hdd on its own by a good margin, so I think i will be okay for my needs with truecrypt. I have seen in a few places that they recommend partitioning the drive and leavign some of the SSD not inside truecrypt, does this really make a difference? If so, how much should I leave? Will there be any issue in the Raid0 configuration? I am not really concerned about all the wear leveling issue, rather loose data and be secure, but since I don't need all that space neccesarily, I would like to optimize my setup for security and speed.

    I'm currently trying to upgrade a user management system for one web application. This web application is used to provide remote access to various networking equipment for educational purposes. All equipment is assigned to various pods, which users can book for periods of time. The current system is very simple - just 2 user types: administrators and students. All their security and other attributes are mostly hardcoded. I want to change this to something like the following model: user <-- (1..n)profile <--- (1..n) attributes. I.e. user can be assigned several profiles and each profile can have multiple attributes. At runtime all profiles and attributes are merged into single active profile. Some examples of attributes i'm planning to implement: EXPIRATION_DATE - single value, value type: date, specifies when user account will expire; ACCESS_POD - single value, value type: ref to object of Pod class, specifies which pod the user is allowed to book, user profile can have multiple such attributes with different values; TIME_QUOTA - single value, value type: integer, specifies maximum length of time for which student can reserve equipment. CREDIT_CHARGING - multi valued, specifies how much credits will be assigned to user over period of time. (Reservation of devices will cost credits, which will regenerate over time); Security permissions and user preferences can end up as profile or user attributes too: i.e CAN_CREATE_USERS, CAN_POST_NEWS, CAN_EDIT_DEVICES, FONT_SIZE, etc.. This way i could have, for example: students of course A will have profiles STUDENT (with basic attributes) and PROFILE A (wich grants acces to pod A). Students of course B will have profiles: STUDENT, PROFILE B(wich grants to pod B and have increased time quotas). I'm using Spring and Hibernate frameworks for this application and MySQL for database. For this web application i would like to stay within boundaries of these tools. The problem is, that i can't figure out how to best represent all these attributes in database. I also want to create some kind of unified way of retrieveing these attributes and their values. Here is the model i've come up with. I do not expect that there would be very large amount of rows in the ATTRIBUTES table, but are there any serious drawbacks of such design?
