  • Safari doesn't display 'alt' text on Images?

    <img src="image_that_may_or_may_not_load.png" alt="Show this text if image not loaded" /> Safari doesn't seem to show 'alt' text in case the image is not loaded. I'm not sure about other browsers, but Firefox does show the alternate text. Its so important to display alt text in email templates where the images would be blocked by the client most likely, atleast until the user accepts to "display images from this user/site". Any workaround for this? Thanks

    Hi, I'm relative new to C++ and my background is in Java. I have to port some code from Java to C++ and some doubts came up relative to the Object Java's class. So, if I want to port this: void Algorithm::setInputParameter(std::string name, Object object) { ..... } I believe I should use void* type or templates right? It should, for each instance of a instance in the XML create a checkbox in a with a hard coded label.     I'm looking into creating a GUI program for Windows in C++, I have a good knowledge of C++ in the command line and also in game creation. But I'm not sure where to start with GUI application development. I have Visual Studio 2010 and have created new projects with a GUI but these templates are complex and leaves me not understanding whats happening and how to modify it. So I'm asking where do I start? Preferably good websites that you can recommend or tutorials, rather than books being a poor student :)

    Model Item belongs_to User. In my controller I have code like this: @items = Item.find(:all) I need to have a corresponding User models for each item in my View templates. it works in controller(but not in View template): @items.each { |item| item.user } But manual looping just to build associations for View template kinda smells. How can I do this not in a creepy way?

I need to store words according to 2 initial letters which is 676 combinations and each word has its number of occurrences (minimal, maximal, average) in text. I'm not sure how the model/schema should look like. There will be a lot of checking whether the keyword was already persisted. I appreciate your suggestions. I would like to define some templates server side using html code snippets, and some CSS to define the layout.     Does anyone know a complete JSF 2.0 sample or open source application using JSF 2.0 features (Facelets, Composite Component, Templates, Ajax, Navigation, etc.). Would be a good reference to learn some best practices. I'm talking about an application that you would also use in production. The only ones I know are ScrumToys and PetCatalog which are delivered with NetBeans 6.9 and are "tutorial-like" applications.

    I use doubles for a uniform implementation of some arithmetic calculations. These calculations may be actually applied to integers too, but there are no C++-like templates in Java and I don't want to duplicate the implementation code, so I simply use "double" version for ints. Does JVM spec guarantees the correctness of integer operations such a <=,=, +, -, *, and / (in case of remainder==0) when the operations are emulated as corresponding floating point ops? (Any integer, of course, has reasonable size to be represented in double's mantissa)

Here's the code (coffeescript) window.app = angular.module("app", []) app.value("template_path", "assets/angular/templates/users") app.config(["$routeProvider","template_path" ($routeProvider, template_path) -> console.log template_path it is throwing an "Unknown provider: template_path from app" error Could it be that the config() method cannot be injected with value() set values?
