  • What do the external JSF libraries/frameworks add?

    - by kgrad
    I have seen mention of a bunch of external JSF Libraries such as ICEfaces, Richfaces, etc. However, I am unsure as to what these libraries actually add over just using JSF 2.0. Are they just additional components that are pre-built? I know that PrettyFaces adds URL rewriting, and I Believe that ICEFaces/Richfaces add Ajax enabled components? What are some other major component libraries, what are their benefits / why should people use them? Additionally, what does a framework like SEAM add over using straight JSF2 with EJB? Is MYFaces simply a different implementation of JSF?

  • ActiveMq integration with Spring 2.5

    - by Tony
    I am using ActiveMq 5.32 with Spring 2.5.5. I use pretty generic configuration, as long as I include the jmsTransactionManager in DefaultMessageListenerContainer, Spring throw an error on start up: "Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.jms.listener.DefaultMessageListenerContainer#0'" Without the transactionManager attribute , this works fine, but when I add 10 messages to the message queue, a transaction exception will occur. Part of my configurations : <bean class="org.springframework.jms.listener.DefaultMessageListenerContainer"> <property name="connectionFactory" ref="connectionFactory" /> <property name="destination" ref="emailDestination" /> <property name="messageListener" ref="emailServiceMDP" /> <property name="transactionManager" ref="jmsTransactionManager" /> </bean> <bean id="jmsTransactionManager" class="org.springframework.jms.connection.JmsTransactionManager"> <property name="connectionFactory" ref="connectionFactory" /> </bean> Does this version of Spring and Activemq has some know issues in integration ? Or do I need additional libs to get jmsTransactionManager to work ?

  • Why new String(bytes, enc).getBytes(enc) does not return the original byte array?

    - by Bozho
    I made the following "simulation": byte[] b = new byte[256]; for (int i = 0; i < 256; i ++) { b[i] = (byte) (i - 128); } byte[] transformed = new String(b, "cp1251").getBytes("cp1251"); for (int i = 0; i < b.length; i ++) { if (b[i] != transformed[i]) { System.out.println("Wrong : " + i); } } For cp1251 this outputs only one wrong byte - at position 23. For KOI8-R - all fine. For cp1252 - 4 or 5 differences. What is the reason for this and how can this be overcome? I know it is wrong to represent byte arrays as strings in whatever encoding, but it is a requirement of the protocol of a payment provider, so I don't have a choice. Update: representing it in ISO-8859-1 works, and I'll use it for the byte[] part, and cp1251 for the textual part, so the question remains only out of curiousity

  • Question on a tutorial

    - by hansa
    Hello, i´m trying to get following tutorial to run and understand: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/web/library/wa-cometjava/index.html In the example code which can be downloaded at the bottom of the page is everything in one class with two inner classes. How can i make the the thread of "MessageSender" (Listing 3) visible to "The Weatherman" (Listing 4) so i can use it in the run method without using inner classes? Thank you hansa Reformulation of Question: How to make the send-method of inner class MessageSender make accessible in ClassThatDoSomething. Example-Code: public class Example extends HttpServlet implements CometProcessor { private MessageSender messageSender = null; @Override public void init() throws ServletException { // starts thread MessageSender } public event(CometEvent) { // Object of ClassThatDoSomething gets created started } private class ClassThatDoSomething { public void start() { Runnable runnable = new Runnable() { public void run(){ messageSender.send(message); } Thread thread = new Thread(runnable); thread.start(); } } private class MessageSender implements Runnable { public void send(String message) { //... } public void run() { //...} } }

  • Removing Item from Collection / Changing field of Object

    - by x Nuclear 213
    public void searchOwner(List<Appointments> appts, String owner) { Appointments theOne = null; for (Appointments temp : appts) { if (owner.equalsIgnoreCase(temp.owner.name)) { System.out.println(temp.data); temp.setResolved(true); } } } public void checkRemoval() { for (Appointments appts : appointments) { if (appts.resolved == true) { appointments.remove(appts); } //Iterator method used before enhanced for-loop public void checkRemovalI(){ Iterator<Appointments> it = appointments.iterator(); while(it.hasNext()){ if(it.next().resolved = true){ it.remove(); } } } So far this is where I am encountering my problem. I am trying to check the arrayList of Appointments and see if the field (resolved) is set to true, however I am receiving an ConcurrentModification exception during the searchOwner method when trying to set resolved = to true. I've tried using an Iterator in checkRemoval instead of an enhanced for-loop however that didn't help either. I really only need to get the part where the appointment is set to true to work, the checkRemoval seemed to be working early before implementing the changing of the boolean resolved. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  • Implementing clone on a LinkedList

    - by devoured elysium
    I am trying to implement a clone() method on a DoubleLinkedList. Now, the problem is that implementing it by "the convention" is a lot more troublesome than just creating a new DoubleLinkedList and filling it with all the elements of my current DoubleLinkedList. Is there any inconvenient I am not seeing when doing that? Here is my current approach: @Override public DoubleLinkedList<T> clone() { DoubleLinkedList<T> dll = new DoubleLinkedList<T>(); for (T element : dll) { dll.add(element); } return dll; } Here is what it would be by the convention: @Override public DoubleLinkedList<T> clone() { try { DoubleLinkedList<T> dll = (DoubleLinkedList<T>)super.clone(); //kinda complex code to copy elements return dll; } catch (CloneNotSupportedException e) { throw new InternalError(e.toString()); } }

  • What is the most efficient way to list all of the files in a directory (including sub-directories)?

    - by prometheus
    I am writing a servlet which will examine a directory on the server (external to the web container), and recursively search for certain files (by certain files, I mean files that are of a certain extension as well as a certain naming convention). Once these files are found, the servlet responds with a long list of all of the found files (including the full path to the files). My problem is that there are so many files and directories that my servlet goes extremely slow. I was wondering if there was a best practice or existing servlet for this type of problem? Would it be more efficient to simply compile the entire list of files and do the filtering via js/jquery on the client side?

  • How to find a particular string in a paragraph in android?

    - by user1448108
    In my project the data is stored in html format along with image tag. For example the following data is stored in html format and it contains 2 to 3 images. Mother Teresa as she is commonly known, was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. Although born on the 26 August 1910, she considered 27 August, the day she was baptized, to be her "true birthday". “By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus." img ----- src="image1.png" ---- Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and is active in 133 countries.img ----- src="image2.png" ----. She was the recipient of numerous honours including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. She refused the conventional ceremonial banquet given to laureates, and asked that the $192,000 funds be given to the poor in India. img ----- src="image3.png" ---- Now from the above data I need to find how many images the paragraph has and need to get all the image names along with the extensions and should display them in android. Tried with splitting but did not work. Please help me regarding this. Thanks in advance

  • Problem with ModelAndView and ModelMap in AnnotationController, Springframework

    - by saltfactory
    I have a question that is a point difference between ModelAndView and ModelMap. I want to maintain modelAndView when requestMethod is "GET" and requestMethod is "POST". My modelAndView saved others. So I made modelAndView return type to "GET", "POST" methods. But, Request lost commandObject, form:errors..., if request return showForm on "POST" because request validation failed. example) private ModelAndView modelAndView; public ControllerTest{ this.modelAndView = new ModelAndView(); } @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public ModelAndView showForm(ModelMap model) { EntityObject entityObject = new EntityObject(); CommandObject commandObject = new CommandObject(); commandObject.setEntityObject(entityObject); model.addAttribute("commandObject", commandObject); this.modelAndView.addObject("id", "GET"); this.modelAndView.setViewName("registerForm"); return this.modelAndView; } @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST) public ModelAndView submit(@ModelAttribute("commandObject") CommandObject commandObject, BindingResult result, SessionStatus status) { this.commandValidator.validate(commandObject, result); if (result.hasErrors()) { this.modelAndView.addObject("id", "POST"); this.modelAndView.setViewName("registerForm"); return this.modelAndView; } else { this.modelAndView.addObject("id", "after POST"); this.modelAndView.setViewName("success"); } status.setComplete(); return this.modelAndView; }

  • Generate URL for File

    - by Don
    The default output of File.toURL() is file:/c:/foo/bar These don't appear to work on windows, and need to be changed to file:///c:/foo/bar Does the format file:/c:/foo/bar work correctly on Unix (I don't have a Unix machine to test on)? Is there a library that can take care of generating a URL from a File that is in the correct format for the current environment?
