  • Android Color Picker

    - by GuyNoir
Does anyone know of a quick color picker widget that I could grab to use in my application? I've seen one in a few different applications that has a wheel with colors, and that you tap in the center to select, but I'm not sure where to find it. Google brings up nothing. Any color picker would be fine though. Thanks.

  • NSOperation and UIKit problem

    - by Infinity
Hello guys! I am doing my download with an object which was inherited from NSOperation. I have read the documentation and when my operation finished I must call the [self.delegate performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(operationDidFinish:) withObject:self waitUntilDone:YES]; method. It needs to be called on the main thread, because the UIKit is not thread safe and the documentation says this in these non thread safe frameworks cases. In the delegate method I am drawing a pdf or an image, but because it is drawn on the main thread the User Interface is very laggy until the drawing is finished. Maybe can you suggest me a good way to avoid this problem?

  • Nav Controller, UITableViewController, UITextField to become firstResponder?

    - by Daniel Granger
I have a core data application which uses a navigation controller to drill down to a detail view and then if you edit one of the rows of data in the detail view you get taken to an Edit View for the that single line, like in Apples CoreDataBooks example! The edit view is a UITableviewController which creates its table with a single section single row and a UITextfield in the cell, programatically. What I want to happen is when you select a row to edit and the edit view is pushed onto the nav stack and the edit view is animated moving across the screen, I want the textfield to be selected as firstResponder so that the keyboard is already showing as the view moves across the screen to take position. Like in the Contacts app or in the CoreDataBooks App. I currently have the following code in my app which causes the view to load and then you see the keyboard appear (which isn't what I want, I want the keyboard to already be there) - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; [theTextField becomeFirstResponder]; } You can't put this in -viewWillAppear as the textfield hasn't been created yet so theTextField is nil. In the CoreDataBooks App where they achieve what i want they load there tableview from a nib so they use the same code but in -viewWillAppear as the textfield has already been created! Is there anyway of getting around this without creating a nib, I want to keep the implementation programatic to enable greater flexibility. Many Thanks

  • UITextView insert text in the textview text

    - by John Smith
I want to have to occasionally insert text into the UITextView text object. For example, if the user presses the "New Paragraph" button I would like to insert a double newline instead of just the standard single newline. How can I go about such? Do i have to read the string from UITextView, mutate it, and write it back? Then how would I know where the pointer was? Thanks

  • Cocos2D: Problem Rotating a CCMenu

    - by srikanth rongali
If I try to do actions over menuItems but the actions are not running as expected. I think code below should make the menuItem rotate by 90 degrees but when I run it, the menuItem translates from its coordinates to another coordinate then returns to its original coordinate. The complete translation takes 3 seconds. What I need is for the menuItem to rotate by 90 degrees in place within a 3 seconds duration. Please explain where I have done wrong? CCMenuItemImage *targetE;//Globally declared CCMenu *menu;//Globally declared -(id)init { if( (self = [super init]) ) { isTouchEnabled = YES; CGSize windowSize = [[CCDirector sharedDirector] winSize]; targetE = [CCMenuItemImage itemFromNormalImage:@"grossinis_sister1.png" selectedImage:@"grossinis_sister1.png" target:self selector:@selector(touch:)]; menu = [CCMenu menuWithItems:targetE,nil]; id action4 = [CCRotateBy actionWithDuration:3.0 angle:90]; [menu runAction: [CCSequence actions: action4, nil]]; menu.position = ccp(windowSize.width/2 + 200, windowSize.height/2); [self addChild: menu z:10]; } return self; } @end Thank You.

  • How can we change color of a text programmatically ?

    - by user297535
    My code is -(UIImage *)addText:(UIImage *)img text:(NSString *)text1{ int w = img.size.width; int h = img.size.height; CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGContextRef context = CGBitmapContextCreate(NULL, w, h, 8, 4 * w, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0, 0, w, h), img.CGImage); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1); char* text = (char *)[text1 cStringUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; CGContextSelectFont(context, "Arial", 18, kCGEncodingMacRoman); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode(context, kCGTextFill); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 255, 255, 255, 2); CGContextShowTextAtPoint(context, 10, 170, text, strlen(text)); CGImageRef imageMasked = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(context); CGContextRelease(context); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); return [UIImage imageWithCGImage:imageMasked]; } -(UIImage *)addText:(UIImage *)img text:(NSString *)text1{ int w = img.size.width; int h = img.size.height; CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGContextRef context = CGBitmapContextCreate(NULL, w, h, 8, 4 * w, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0, 0, w, h), img.CGImage); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1); char* text = (char *)[text1 cStringUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; CGContextSelectFont(context, "Arial", 18, kCGEncodingMacRoman); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode(context, kCGTextFill); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 255, 255, 255, 2); CGContextShowTextAtPoint(context, 10, 170, text, strlen(text)); CGImageRef imageMasked = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(context); CGContextRelease(context); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); return [UIImage imageWithCGImage:imageMasked]; } How can we change the color of the text programmatically?   • Incorrect Coordinates From getLocationOnScreen/getLocationInWindow

    - by nimph
A call to getLocationOnScreen() or getLocationInWindow() both give me a top/Y coordinate that is about ~30px (status/notifications bar's height) too far down. The left/X coordinate is dead on. As I hinted above, I believe the difference is because of the status/notification bar... I could be wrong. I think I can solve this if I can determine the size of the notification bar but, I'm having trouble doing just that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Avoid hardcoding iPhone screen size with programmatic view creation

    - by miorel
Hi, I was looking up how to create a view programmatically and found the following example code: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; This works great, except I don't like that it hardcodes the size of the screen. Is there a way to look up the size of the screen? An important point someone brought up is that if the app is running during a phone call then the screen will be slightly smaller because of the green "return to call" bar.

  • NSString to NSData Failing in Encoding

    - by Travis
I'm trying to use NSXmlParser to parse ISO-8859-1 data. Using Apple's own example for parsing ISO-8859-1, I have the following. NSString *xmlFilePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:sampleFileName ofType:@"xml"]; NSString *xmlFileContents = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:xmlFilePath encoding:NSISOLatin1StringEncoding error:nil]; NSLog(@"contents: %@", xmlFileContents); I see that in the console, the contents of the string is accurate. However when I try to convert it to an NSData object (for use with the parser), I do the following. NSData *xmlData = [xmlFileContents dataUsingEncoding:NSISOLatin1StringEncoding]; But then when my didStartElement delegate gets called, I see  showing up which I think is from an encoding discrepancy. Can NSXmlParser handle ISO-8859-1 and if so, what am I doing wrong?

  • Handling empty UITableView in UITableViewController

    - by Travis
I have a UITableViewController that is populated with some data. If the data comes back empty, obviously the table is empty. What is the appropriate method to use to handle this case and put up something like a UILabel with "No Data Available". I have been using - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section but it's proven a bit cumbersome and I'm not longer confident it's the best place to do this.

  • Save options selected in AlertDialog spawned from ItemizedOverlay onTap method

    - by ahsteele
    In the description of how to add a list of options to an AlertDialog the official Android documentation alludes to saving a users preferences with one of the "data storage techniques." The examples assume the AlertDialog has been spawned within an Activity class. In my case I've created a class that extends ItemizedOverlay. This class overrides the onTap method and uses an AlertDialog to prompt the user to make a multi-choice selection. I would like to capture and persist the selections for each OverlayItem they tap on. That said I am unsure if utilizing an AlertDialog in this manner is the right approach and open to other suggestions. protected boolean onTap(int index) { OverlayItem item = _overlays.get(index); final CharSequence[] items = { "WiFi", "BlueTooth" }; final boolean[] checked = { false, false }; AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(_context); builder.setTitle(item.getTitle()); builder.setMultiChoiceItems(items, checked, new DialogInterface.OnMultiChoiceClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int item, boolean isChecked) { // for now just show that the user touched an option Toast.makeText(_context, items[item], Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); builder.setPositiveButton("Okay", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { // should I be examining what was checked here? dialog.dismiss(); } }); builder.setNegativeButton("Cancel", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { dialog.cancel(); } }); AlertDialog alert = builder.create(); alert.show(); return true; }

  • How to Anti-Alias Layers in iPhoneOS

    - by Shannon A.
We've had Reiner Knizia's Money out for a couple of months now. It's done pretty well, and so we've been updating it as time allows. However, one thing continues to bug me. I've never been able to get my layered cards to anti-alias correctly. Here's a sample: Cards that are laid straight are very clean, but whenever they're angled the black lines around the cards get jagged. I've tried this depending on both lines implicit to the artwork and lines drawn through drawRect:, and they both do the same thing. I've tried the edgeAntiAliasingMask and it doesn't do a thing as far as I can tell. I've tried masksToBounds for the sublayers set to NO and YES. Right now my card is set up as a CALayer that has sub-CALayers for the front and the back, plus for a few other things like a lightening mask and a darkening mask. Here's some snippets of the code: CArdLayer *theCardLayer = [CArdLayer layer]; theCardLayer.edgeAntialiasingMask = kCALayerLeftEdge | kCALayerRightEdge | kCALayerBottomEdge | kCALayerTopEdge; theCardLayer.front = [CALayer layer]; theCardLayer.front.edgeAntialiasingMask = kCALayerLeftEdge | kCALayerRightEdge | kCALayerBottomEdge | kCALayerTopEdge; theCardLayer.front.bounds = theCardLayer.bounds; theCardLayer.front.masksToBounds = YES; theCardLayer.front.contents = (id)[cardDrawing CGImage]; [theCardLayer addSublayer:theCardLayer.front]; Etc ... Any ideas on how to make the cards actually anti-alias?

  • How to change to a grouped table view in xcode without using Interface Builder

    - by Dave
I have a table that I created within xcode so there is no nib file in this case. I want to make my table into the 'Grouped' style but im not sure how. I think it has somthing to do with the method below, the problem is Im not really sure how to call it, I do understand how methods work I'm just not too sure on where to start with this one: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame style:(UITableViewStyle)UITableViewStyleGrouped So could someone tell me how to call it? The problem is that its not a method I wrote its a built in one so I could put that line into my header file but how would I use it in my implementation file? Thanks guys,

  • Cannot run code on device

    - by lostInTransit
Hi I have some source code which I had developed and later gave to another team. They signed it with their certificate and provisioning profile. Now I have the code back and have set the appropriate values in the project properties for code signing identity (with my cert and profile). But when I run the application on a device, I get an error showing the other team's certificate and prompting that the provisioning profile does not exist. I don't know where it is being referenced. Can someone please help. Thanks.

  • Right to Left UI in iPhone (Hebrew)

    - by Reflog
Hello, I'm struggling in creating a RTL UI in iPhone application. The framework doesn't seem to have any support for RTL languages. The only thing is the alignment inside labels, which is nice, but it conflicts with other controls behaviour. The question is: Is there a working code for a RTL TableView? Something that would handle the disclosure buttons to be on the left, section titles to be right aligned, index view to be left aligned? As far as I understand I cannot move the index view of the tableview, i have to overlay some custom control... Any suggestions/pointers/examples? p.s. this is not a duplication of this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1677988/right-to-left-alignment-for-uitableview since what I am looking for is a deeper customization, not just a new type of CellView. (Update: Mar 10) For now - I've removed support for indexView from the tableView at all, implemented the cells as custom views by myself (with disclosure buttons on the left), and customized the header/footer of the table as well. the only thing that is left is the Index View. Thanks in advance!

  • iPhone autorotation for too many objects on screen

    - by Denis
Hi! I have a BlahAppDelegate, BlahViewController and no nibs in my iPhone app project. Only some subclasses of UIView in addition. All this is situated in main.m. My app has 6 subclassed UIViews. Each of it contains 18 UIImageViews. I need to get autorotating work. Or custom rotating. Or something. For example it would be nice to fade the screen out when device is rotated, then move/resize views and then fade screen out. But I don't know how to automate it, without writing a resizing code for each of objects. Please help me if you can.
