  • WPF DataGrid AutoColumn generation via ICustomTypeDescriptor.

    - by panamack
In a test project I've managed to AutoGenerate WPF DataGrid columns in the following scenario, where the data is stored in a Dictionary and binding is performed via PropertyDescriptors: public class People:List<Person>{ ... } public class Person:Dictionary<string, string>,INotifyPropertyChanged,ICustomTypeDescriptor { } The problem I'm having is in my real life project I'm using MVVM so it's *People*ViewModel which inherits ViewModelBase and hence can't inherit List<Person>. I've tried implementing IList<Person> instead with an internal List<Person> and explicitly setting the DataContext to an IList<Person> reference but that didn't work. I've seen a similar post on binding a win forms DataGridView here, so I'm wondering if the same sort of logic applies in WPF and primarily, what exactly causes the ICustomTypeDescriptor implementation to be picked up when inheriting List<T> that is missing when you simply implement IList<T> instead.

  • iPhone Objective C - error: pointer value used where a floating point value was expected

    - by Mausimo
    I do not understand why i am getting this error. Here is the related code: Photo.h #import <CoreData/CoreData.h> @class Person; @interface Photo : NSManagedObject { } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSData * imageData; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * Latitude; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * ImageName; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * ImagePath; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * Longitude; @property (nonatomic, retain) Person * PhotoToPerson; @end Photo.m #import "Photo.h" #import "Person.h" @implementation Photo @dynamic imageData; @dynamic Latitude; @dynamic ImageName; @dynamic ImagePath; @dynamic Longitude; @dynamic PhotoToPerson; @end This is a mapViewController.m class i have created. If i run this, the CLLocationDegrees CLLat and CLLong lines: CLLocationDegrees CLLat = (CLLocationDegrees)photo.Latitude; CLLocationDegrees CLLong = (CLLocationDegrees)photo.Longitude; give me the error : pointer value used where a floating point value was expected. for(int i = 0; i < iPerson; i++) { //get the person that corresponds to the row indexPath that is currently being rendered and set the text Person * person = (Person *)[myArrayPerson objectAtIndex:i]; //get the photos associated with the person NSArray * PhotoArray = [person.PersonToPhoto allObjects]; int iPhoto = [PhotoArray count]; for(int j = 0; j < iPhoto; j++) { //get the first photo (all people will have atleast 1 photo, else they will not exist). Set the image Photo * photo = (Photo *)[PhotoArray objectAtIndex:j]; if(photo.Latitude != nil && photo.Longitude != nil) { MyAnnotation *ann = [[MyAnnotation alloc] init]; ann.title = photo.ImageName; ann.subtitle = photo.ImageName; CLLocationCoordinate2D cord; CLLocationDegrees CLLat = (CLLocationDegrees)photo.Latitude; CLLocationDegrees CLLong = (CLLocationDegrees)photo.Longitude; cord.latitude = CLLat; cord.longitude = CLLong; ann.coordinate = cord; [mkMapView addAnnotation:ann]; } } }

  • Android Bind Spinner to Class

    - by drbob
I'm having some trouble with the Spinner widget. Given the following code: ArrayList<Person> people= new ArrayList<Person>(); Person = null; for(int i = 0; i!= 10; i++) { p = new Person(); s.setID(i); s.setName("Name " + i); people.add(s); } I'm using the following code to bind it to a Spinner: Spinner spinner1 = (Spinner) findViewById (R.id.spinner); ArrayAdapter<Person> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<Person>(this, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item, people); spinner1.setAdapter(adapter); What I would like is for the value (id) to be hidden but passed when selected, and the name to appear. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • How to back up non-standard directories in my user profile with Windows Backup?

    - by James Johnston
I'm using Windows Backup to back up my Win7 Pro laptop. I'd like to use it to back up my complete user profile, but I only see standard profile directories (e.g. C:\Users\JohnstonJ\Documents) in the list. Non-standard ones aren't there (e.g. C:\Users\JohnstonJ\MyCustomDirectory). What's the best way to handle this? The only thing I can think of is to browse under the "Computer" entry and navigate directly to C:\Users\JohnstonJ and check off the entire profile (to get what's in there, and any new directories that come up). But is that going to back up the profile twice? Cause other unforeseen problems given that I checked it off by navigating through the computer, rather than picking it under the "Data Files" category? (e.g. back up temporary file garbage, files in use problems, etc. that the "Data Files" category might be handling better). Looking for solutions that other people use that are known to work well and still uses the Windows Backup software - I don't really want to fuss with 3rd-party backup software. Example - as you can see, I have two directories in my profile that Windows Backup is not offering to back up: "Dropbox" and "New folder": (Link to images album because I don't have enough reputation to directly embed them: http://imgur.com/a/Xyv5u)

  • Maintaining both sides of self-referential many-to-many relationship in Grails domain object

    - by Ali G
I'm having some problems getting a many-to-many relationship working in grails. Is there anything obviously wrong with the following: class Person { static hasMany = [friends: Person] static mappedBy = [friends: 'friends'] String name List friends = [] String toString() { return this.name } } class BootStrap { def init = { servletContext -> Person bob = new Person(name: 'bob').save() Person jaq = new Person(name: 'jaq').save() jaq.friends << bob println "Bob's friends: ${bob.friends}" println "Jaq's friends: ${jaq.friends}" } } I'd expect Bob to be friends with Jaq and vice-versa, but I get the following output at startup: Running Grails application.. Bob's friends: [] Jaq's friends: [Bob] (I'm using Grails 1.2.0)

  • How to join dynamic sql statement in variable with normal statement

    - by Oliver
I have a quite complicated query which will by built up dynamically and is saved in a variable. As second part i have another normal query and i'd like to make an inner join between these both. To make it a little more easier here is a little example to illustrate my problem. For this little example i used the AdventureWorks database. Some query built up dynamically (Yes, i know here is nothing dynamic here, cause it's just an example.) DECLARE @query AS varchar(max) ; set @query = ' select HumanResources.Employee.EmployeeID ,HumanResources.Employee.LoginID ,HumanResources.Employee.Title ,HumanResources.EmployeeAddress.AddressID from HumanResources.Employee inner join HumanResources.EmployeeAddress on HumanResources.Employee.EmployeeID = HumanResources.EmployeeAddress.EmployeeID ;'; EXEC (@query); The normal query i have select Person.Address.AddressID ,Person.Address.City from Person.Address Maybe what i'd like to have but doesn't work select @query.* ,Addresses.City from @query as Employees inner join ( select Person.Address.AddressID ,Person.Address.City from Person.Address ) as Addresses on Employees.AddressID = Addresses.AddressID

  • JAXB: @XmlTransient on third-party or external super class

    - by Phil
Hi, I need some help regarding the following issue with JAXB 2.1. Sample: I've created a SpecialPerson class that extends a abstract class Person. Now I want to transform my object structure into a XML schema using JAXB. Thereby I don't want the Person XML type to appear in my XML schema to keep the schema simple. Instead I want the fields of the Person class to appear in the SpecialPerson XML type. Normally I would add the annotation @XmlTransient on class level into the Person code. The problem is that Person is a third-party class and I have no possibility to add @XmlTransient here. How can I tell JAXB that it should ignore the Person class without annotating the class. Is it possible to configure this externally somehow? Have you had the same problem before? Any ideas what the best solution for this problem would be?

  • Linq query challenge

    - by vdh_ant
My table structure is as follows: Person 1-M PesonAddress Person 1-M PesonPhone Person 1-M PesonEmail Person 1-M Contract Contract M-M Program Contract M-1 Organization At the end of this query I need a populated object graph where each person has their: PesonAddress's PesonPhone's PesonEmail's PesonPhone's Contract's - and this has its respective Program's Now I had the following query and I thought that it was working great, but it has a couple of problems: from people in ctx.People.Include("PersonAddress") .Include("PersonLandline") .Include("PersonMobile") .Include("PersonEmail") .Include("Contract") .Include("Contract.Program") where people.Contract.Any( contract => (param.OrganizationId == contract.OrganizationId) && contract.Program.Any( contractProgram => (param.ProgramId == contractProgram.ProgramId))) select people; The problem is that it filters the person to the criteria but not the Contracts or the Contract's Programs. It brings back all Contracts that each person has not just the ones that have an OrganizationId of x and the same goes for each of those Contract's Programs respectively. What I want is only the people that have at least one contract with an OrgId of x with and where that contract has a Program with the Id of y... and for the object graph that is returned to have only the contracts that match and programs within that contract that match. I kinda understand why its not working, but I don't know how to change it so it is working... This is my attempt thus far: from people in ctx.People.Include("PersonAddress") .Include("PersonLandline") .Include("PersonMobile") .Include("PersonEmail") .Include("Contract") .Include("Contract.Program") let currentContracts = from contract in people.Contract where (param.OrganizationId == contract.OrganizationId) select contract let currentContractPrograms = from contractProgram in currentContracts let temp = from x in contractProgram.Program where (param.ProgramId == contractProgram.ProgramId) select x where temp.Any() select temp where currentContracts.Any() && currentContractPrograms.Any() select new Person { PersonId = people.PersonId, FirstName = people.FirstName, ..., ...., MiddleName = people.MiddleName, Surname = people.Surname, ..., ...., Gender = people.Gender, DateOfBirth = people.DateOfBirth, ..., ...., Contract = currentContracts, ... }; //This doesn't work But this has several problems (where the Person type is an EF object): I am left to do the mapping by myself, which in this case there is quite a lot to map When ever I try to map a list to a property (i.e. Scholarship = currentScholarships) it says I can't because IEnumerable is trying to be cast to EntityCollection Include doesn't work Hence how do I get this to work. Keeping in mind that I am trying to do this as a compiled query so I think that means anonymous types are out.

  • Why are getters prefixed with the word "get"?

    - by Joey
Generally speaking, creating a fluid API is something that makes all programmers happy; Both for the creators who write the interface, and the consumers who program against it. Looking beyond conventions, why is it that we prefix all our getters with the word "get". Omitting it usually results in a more fluid, easy to read set of instructions, which ultimately leads to happiness (however small or passive). Consider this very simple example. (pseudo code) Conventional: person = new Person("Joey") person.getName().toLower().print() Alternative: person = new Person("Joey") person.name().toLower().print() Of course this only applies to languages where getters/setters are the norm, but is not directed at any specific language. Were these conventions developed around technical limitations (disambiguation), or simply through the pursuit of a more explicit, intentional feeling type of interface, or perhaps this is just a case of trickle a down norm. What are your thoughts? And how would simple changes to these conventions impact your happiness / daily attitudes towards your craft (however minimal). Thanks.

  • Should an event-sourced aggregate root have query access to the event sourcing repository?

    - by JD Courtoy
I'm working on an event-sourced CQRS implementation, using DDD in the application / domain layer. I have an object model that looks like this: public class Person : AggregateRootBase { private Guid? _bookingId; public Person(Identification identification) { Apply(new PersonCreatedEvent(identification)); } public Booking CreateBooking() { // Enforce Person invariants var booking = new Booking(); Apply(new PersonBookedEvent(booking.Id)); return booking; } public void Release() { // Enforce Person invariants // Should we load the booking here from the aggregate repository? // We need to ensure that booking is released as well. var booking = BookingRepository.Load(_bookingId); booking.Release(); Apply(new PersonReleasedEvent(_bookingId)); } [EventHandler] public void Handle(PersonBookedEvent @event) { _bookingId = @event.BookingId; } [EventHandler] public void Handle(PersonReleasedEvent @event) { _bookingId = null; } } public class Booking : AggregateRootBase { private DateTime _bookingDate; private DateTime? _releaseDate; public Booking() { //Enforce invariants Apply(new BookingCreatedEvent()); } public void Release() { //Enforce invariants Apply(new BookingReleasedEvent()); } [EventHandler] public void Handle(BookingCreatedEvent @event) { _bookingDate = SystemTime.Now(); } [EventHandler] public void Handle(BookingReleasedEvent @event) { _releaseDate = SystemTime.Now(); } // Some other business activities unrelated to a person } With my understanding of DDD so far, both Person and Booking are seperate aggregate roots for two reasons: There are times when business components will pull Booking objects separately from the database. (ie, a person that has been released has a previous booking modified due to incorrect information). There should not be locking contention between Person and Booking whenever a Booking needs to be updated. One other business requirement is that a Booking can never occur for a Person more than once at a time. Due to this, I'm concerned about querying the query database on the read side as there could potentially be some inconsistency there (due to using CQRS and having an eventually consistent read database). Should the aggregate roots be allowed to query the event-sourced backing store for objects (lazy-loading them as needed)? Are there any other avenues of implementation that would make more sense?

  • What's wrong with my Objective-C class?

    - by zgillis
I am having trouble with my Objective-C code. • How do I configure a new (non-OS) raid device under Windows 7?

    - by GregH
I recently installed 3 new 1TB drives in my Windows 7 (64 bit) system. These are in addition to the 10k rpm disk that I already have running the Windows 7 OS. My intent is to create a RAID 5 volume with the 3 disks. I don't seem to have a problem configuring the bios and creating the resulting 1.9 TB RAID volume. I run in to the problem when I try booting in to Windows. I get a quick flash of a blue screen and then am prompted by windows to do a repair. It tries to repair and then reboots. This sequence lasts indefinitely. If I re-configure the bios back to non-RAID (ACHI) then windows boots fine. The strange thing is that the 1.9 TB volume I configured through the bios actually shows up in windows! Strange since the motherboard is not set up with RAID. I assume that I somehow have to install the RAID drivers from the mobo manufacturer. How do I do this? Is the reason I'm getting the blue screen a result of not having the RAID drivers installed? It's strange because I can find plenty of documentation on how to set up RAID and do a fresh install Windows on to the RAID device, but nothing on how to set up a RAID device on an already running system. Advice is appreciated.

  • Am I immoral for using a variable name that differs from its type only by case?

    - by Jason Baker
For instance, take this piece of code: var person = new Person(); or for you Pythonistas: person = Person() I'm told constantly how bad this is, but have yet to see an example of the immorality of these two lines of code. To me, person is a Person and trying to give it another name is a waste of time. I suppose in the days before syntax highlighting, this would have been a big deal. But these days, it's pretty easy to tell a type name apart from a variable name. Heck, it's even easy to see the difference here on SO. Or is there something I'm missing? If so, it would be helpful if you could provide an example of code that causes problems.

  • Can this sql query be simplified?

    - by Bas
I have the following tables: Person, {"Id", "Name", "LastName"} Sports, {"Id" "Name", "Type"} SportsPerPerson, {"Id", "PersonId", "SportsId"} For my query I want to get all the Persons that excersise a specific Sport whereas I only have the Sports "Name" attribute at my disposal. To retrieve the correct rows I've figured out the following queries: SELECT * FROM Person WHERE Person.Id in ( SELECT SportsPerPerson.PersonId FROM SportsPerPerson INNER JOIN Sports on SportsPerPerson.SportsId = Sports.Id WHERE Sports.Name = 'Tennis' ) AND Person.Id in ( SELECT SportsPerPerson.PersonId FROM SportsPerPerson INNER JOIN Sports on SportsPerPerson.SportsId = Sports.Id WHERE Sports.Name = 'Soccer' ) OR SELECT * FROM Person WHERE Id IN (SELECT PersonId FROM SportsPerPerson WHERE SportsId IN (SELECT Id FROM Sports WHERE Name = 'Tennis')) AND Id IN (SELECT PersonId FROM SportsPerPerson WHERE SportsId IN (SELECT Id FROM Sports WHERE Name = 'Soccer')) Now my question is, isn't there an easier way to write this query? Using just OR won't work because I need the person who play 'Tennis' AND 'Soccer'. But using AND also doesn't work because the values aren't on the same row.

  • How do I redirect my website from non-www to WWW using Apache2?

    - by Andrew
I'm currently trying to set up my personal webpage. I am using a VPS and have manually installed Wordpress, and everything seems to work... except if I go to the non-www version of my website, it comes up with a page not found. www.andrewrockefeller.com <-- Works andrewrockefeller.com <-- Does not (and I want to redirect it to www.andrewrockefeller.com) I have tried adding RewriteEngine functionality to my .htaccess, and that isn't working. I have also tried adding the 'most-voted' method of adding to my default file (which apache2.conf pulls from: <VirtualHost *> ServerName andrewrockefeller.com Redirect 301 / http://www.andrewrockefeller.com/ </VirtualHost> Seeing how many people are able to get the above working, is there something else I may be missing to allow that to function? Thank you for your time! EDIT: My .htaccess file is as follows: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress The #Wordpress section was autocreated when I changed the settings from ?p=1 (ugly links) to prettylinks. Any proposed solutions I've found on here I've tried out and restarted apache2, and it hasn't worked.

  • C#: Put member variables into a list.

    - by David
Hi all Assuming I have a method which accepts an IList or similar thing as a parameter: public void JiggleMyList(IList<string> list)... Is there an easy way that I can pass in string members of a list of objects? I mean, if for example, I have a list of Person objects which expose a string property called FullName, is there a quick way to stuff the FullNames of all the Person objects into the method parameter, or do I have to create a new List and iterate through the Person objects: List<string> fullNames = new List<string>; foreach (Person person in people) { fullNames.Add(person.FullName); } JiggleMyList(fullNames); I come across this all the time, and it would be nice if there was a shortcut. Many thanks David

  • Have an unprivileged non-account user ssh into another box?

    - by Daniel Quinn
I know how to get a user to ssh into another box with a key: ssh -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost But what about non-account users like apache? As this user doesn't have a home directory to which it can write a .ssh directory, the whole thing keeps failing with: $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost Could not create directory '/var/www/.ssh'. Warning: Permanently added '<hostname>' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. Permission denied (publickey). I've tried variations using -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null and setting $HOME to /dev/null and none of these have done the trick. I understand that sudo could probably fix this for me, but I'm trying to avoid having to require a manual server config since this code will be deployed on a number of different environments. Any ideas? Here's a few examples of what I've tried that don't work: $ sudo -u apache export HOME=path/to/apache/writable/dir/ ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost Eventually, I'll be using this solution to run rsync as the apache user.

This test obviously fails: Mapper.CreateMap<Source, Dest>(); var source = new Source() { Person = new Student(){ Name = "J", StudentId = 5 }}; var dest = Mapper.Map<Source, Dest>(source); Assert.AreEqual(5, dest.PersonStudentId); What would be the best approach to mapping this given that "Person" is actually a heavily used data-type throughout our domain model.

Should the aggregate roots be allowed to query the event-sourced backing store by id for objects (lazy-loading them as needed)? Are there any other avenues of implementation that would make more sense?

  • DbMetal chokes on repeated foreign key references in SQLite - any ideas?

    - by DanM
I've been struggling to get DbMetal to process my SQLite database. I finally isolated the problem. It won't allow a table to have two foreign key references to the same column. For example, a SQLite database with these two tables will fail: CREATE TABLE Person ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, Name TEXT NOT NULL ); CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id) ); I get this error: DbMetal: Sequence contains more than one matching element If I get rid of the second foreign key reference, no error occurs. So, this works: CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL ); But I really need both "person" columns to reference the person table. I submitted a bug report for this, but I could use a workaround in the meantime. Any ideas?

  • Lua: Why changing value on one variable changes value on an other one too?

    - by user474563
I think that running this code you will get excactly what I mean. I want to register 5 names to a register(people). I loop 5 times and in each loop I have a variable newPerson which is supposed to save all information about a person and then be added to the people register. In this example only the names of the people are being registered for simplicity. The problem is that in the end all people turn to have the same name: "Petra". I playied a bit with this but can't get a reasonable reason for this behaviour. Help appreciated! local people={} local person={ name="Johan", lastName="Seferidis", class="B" } local names={"Markus", "Eva", "Nikol", "Adam", "Petra"} --people to register for i=1, 5 do --register 5 people local newPerson=person local name=names[i] for field=1, 3 do --for each field(name, lastname, class) if field==1 then newPerson["name"]=name end --register name end people[i]=newPerson end print("First person name: " ..people[1]["name"]) print("Second person name: "..people[2]["name"]) print("Third person name: " ..people[3]["name"])
