• Is it possible to run dhcpd3 as non-root user in a chroot jail?

  Hi everyone. I would like to run dhcpd3 from a chroot jail on Debian Lenny. At the moment, I can run it as root from my jail. Now I want to do this as non-root user (as "-u blah -t /path/to/jail" Bind option). If I start my process like this : start-stop-daemon --chroot /home/jails/dhcp --chuid dhcp \ --start --pidfile /home/jails/dhcp/var/run/dhcp.pid --exec /usr/sbin/dhcpd3 I get stuck with these errors : Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Server V3.1.1 Copyright 2004-2008 Internet Systems Consortium. • Hyper-V VMs hanging 10 minutes after startup

  Hyper-V running under a fresh install of 2008 R2 DC 2 VMs both running 2008 R2 STD One VM has SQL 2008 Server w/ SP2 and Office 2007 Enterprise w/ SP2 Othe VMS only Office 2007 w/ SP2. Approximately 10 minutes after reboot the Hyuper-V host the VMs will hang Hang = answers pings, but no RDP connections and Hyper-V console session is non responsive Disabled Hyper-V and had no proble with 2008 R2 DC host. Started the three Hyper-V services and 10 minutes later was hung again. Hardware is HP DL380 G4 2 socket, 48 GB, Internal SAS controller 1.5TB C drive VMs .VHDs are on external SAS controller on a 1.5 TB RAID5 volume. Nothing in event log on either VMs or Hyper-V host. • Active Directory using Samba/Open LDAP for user accounts

  I know this is the wrong way round... but Is it possible to use AD in front of Samba for our PC clients, so that the user accounts are in Samba/Open LDAP. Managing our fleet of Windows PC's is becoming more and more difficult with just Samba v3 - until Samba v4 comes along, it would be great if we could leverage Active Directory, but have the accounts stored in Samba/Open LDAP. Windows PC's are a minority in our organisation & Samaba/Open LDAP are used for just about every service (Zimbra/RADIUS/Intranet/SAN/Printing/...) so it will have to remain the definitive account source. Anyway, it probably can't be done, but I thought I would ask for ideas anyway.

• MS Word - Keeps requesting user to save Normal template

  We have Small Business Server 2008 setup on a couple of our clients networks and we have the following issue. Whenever they logon, Microsoft word automatically opens and requests them to save their changes to the template 'Normal'. It constantly happens, we have a mixture of Win 2000 and XP machines and it seems to happen more often on XP than 2000. Any idea why this might be happening and how we can resolve it, it's just frustrating for the end users. PS: This is happening on Office 2000 and Office 2003.

  Hi, In my MacOS 10.5, it has set all my *.patch files to open with 'Notepad in Windows Via parallel'. I have tried to change it by 1. click 'OpenWith..' 2. select 'TextEdit' 3. check the 'Always Open With' box But still when I get new *.patch file, it will set to open 'Nodepad in Windows' by default.   I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to 2010, and that went fairly smoothly. However, afterwards, my Calibri font was gone, so my Word and Outlook started using the next available font in the list... Comic Sans! I browsed to Control Panel Fonts, and saw that there was no longer a Calibri listing. I know that one way to recover a missing font is to just copy the missing font files from another computer. In my case, the four files I needed were: calibri.ttf, //regular calibrib.ttf, //bold calibrii.ttf, //italics calibriz.ttf, //bold and italics However, once I attempted to copy-and-paste these files to my computer, I realized these files were already on my problem computer; they never really got erased. I don't know why they aren't working in Office, and they aren't listed in Control Panel Fonts.

• Keyboard Navigation of File Open Dialog in Windows 7

  In Windows XP standard File - Open dialog, the top has a "Look In" box. I can press Alt+I to drop down a tree of the disks folders and easily navigate to other folders or network shares. In Windows 7, I can't seem to navigate the File - Open dialog as easily. The best I've been able to muster is to tab 5 times (in Excel 2007, but I assume it's a windows standard), then use arrow keys or use Alt+arrow keys like a browser to get around. It's simply not as good because I can't see the whole tree at once. Is there a way to see the whole folder tree? If not, do you have any other tips for keyboard navigation of the file open dialog in Windows 7?

Anyway, is there an easy way to determine what files are open on Mac OS X? I had an issue in which I could not unmount a firewire HD until I closed all running apps. Turns out keychain access had a reference to a file on the HD, but it begged the question: how to find out what files are open and what app (or apps) has the file open?   Most of us with fingerprint readers and such devices probably use the software provided by the vendor, to enable biometric OS login or single sign-on functionality. However, I've recently wondered if there is any third-party software that will do the same thing? This would be similar to how you don't need the manufacturer's software to use a scanner, printer, or webcam - you just use their drivers and your choice of software. Is there anything like this for fingerprint readers or other biometric devices? Free or Open Source projects are preferred, but I'd be interested in learning about any existing solutions regardless. I personally am particularly interested in Windows-compatible software, but I'll leave the query open for any OS.

If you open a new tab which will become #11 in order and search something, after you finish and close this #11 tab Firefox will direct you the the last active tab you were in which is #5. Using Vimperator You won't get the similar effect. In the same scenario, while you're in tab #5 you can go t and search for something which will lead to opening a tab at #11. Now you press d and where you are now ? #10 and you need to ctrl+p all the way back to #5. So in this case I am looking for one of these solutions. to be able to open a tab straight after the current tab (which closing it will capital D will put me back to my active tab) a way to close a tab and being brought back to the last active tab that I worked on.   I have a Ubuntu desktop open and logged on, on my main machine. I am then also logging in to this machine from a remote computer, using X2go which creates a new X-session. I have a libreoffice file open on the original session. I want to save this file and close it - but from the remote machine! (Both sessions have same user logged in; I can sudo if needed) I have tried using xdotool search but this fails to find the window. Is there a way to do what I want from this second session? I can see the process with ps -A I can even see the open file with lsof! How can I do a "save-and-close" on it?

  Is there any way of configuring FileZilla so that I can open all the files on a server that I use to edit with just one click. For example if the files are like this: /home/abc/def/one.txt /home/abc/def/yet/another/directory/two.txt /home/abc/def/ghi/yet/another/directory/three.txt Then it is very time-consuming to navigate through each directory and open the required files. These are only 3 files but what if we have around 10 to 20 files? Yes, copying the path of the directories is one thing. But something that is built-in so that I can just click a button like open all the required files of this connection and it opens all the files in the editor (as set in FileZilla preferences) then that would be great!

  In TotalCommander I have saved the open tabs on the left and on the right windows in a *.tab file. But I want to put the *.tab file on my desktop and doubleklick it and TC (which is not already running) should open with just those tabs. And I could have different *.tc files on my desktop then. I remember this worked before? If so how can I fix it or change a setting? (I know I can open them again from inside TotalCommander as seen in the picture but that's not what I am asking for here.)

• Firefox ile MS Sablonlarini açmak ?

  Hello Guys; I've a problem with Firefox or MS Office maybe both of them. Our firm has an Intranet and publishes some documents via Intra. MS Office 2007 is used to create document templates and stored as "file://depo/ISO9001//Form/_Form.xlt, _Form.dot" in the server. Unfortunately Firefox can't open these templates or downloads over Intra. Is there any solution to this issue? I don't want to use Firefox after IE after Firefox. Many thanks and any help will be appreciated.
