  I have an xml stored property of some control <Prop Name="ForeColor" Type="System.Drawing.Color" Value="-16777216" /> I want to convert it back as others System.Type type = System.Type.GetType(propertyTypeString); object propertyObj = TypeDescriptor.GetConverter(type).ConvertFromString(propertyValueString); System.Type.GetType("System.Drawing.Color") returns null. The question is how one can correctly get color type from string (it will be better not to do a special case just for Color properties) Update from time to time this xml will be edited by hand

  Hi, I've got an Access application with an update query with the following syntax: UPDATE TABLE1, TABLE2 SET TABLE2.VALUE1 = TABLE1.VALUE1, TABLE2.VALUE2 = TABLE1.VALUE2, TABLE2.VALUE3 = TABLE1.VALUE3, TABLE2.VALUE4 = TABLE1.VALUE4 The query is working but I do not understand what's going on here. I'm trying to convert this query to SQL Server. Can somebody please explain what this query does? My guess is that it's a special Access syntax. Thanks, Sven

  I have a genereated form which handles a m:n relation. The generated form overrides the doSave() method to handle the "list". If I embed this Form in an other the special doSave() mothod is never called. The result is that everything works fine except that the m:n relation isn't stored.   I know non-blocking receive is not used as much in message passing, but still some intuition tells me, it is needed. Take for example GUI event driven applications, you need some way to wait for a message in a non-blocking way, so your program can execute some computations. One of the ways to solve this is to have a special thread with message queue. Is there some use case, where you would really need non-blocking receive even if you have threads?

RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?

  If I start a REPL and then do something that throws an exception like (use 'non-existent-thing) ** then after that the REPL ceases to evaluate anything I enter. Is there a special key I can press to make it turn round, face me, uncross its arms and listen once more ?   I know that UDP is inherently unreliable, but when connecting to localhost I would expect the kernel handles the connection differently since everything can be handled internally. So in this special case, is UDP considered a reliable protocol, or will the kernel still potentially junk some packets if buffers are overrun?
