  • Events on controls in web server control

    Hi All, I'm creating a web server control that has an image button on it. The html for the control is done in the RenderControls of the code, the control devrives from WebControl, IScriptControl, INamingContainer. The button is coded as follow in the RenderControls: System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton img = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton(); img.ImageUrl = "Url of the image"; img.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(img_Click); img.ID = this.ClientID + "_img"; img.CausesValidation = false; imgLock.RenderControl(output); The button apreas in the browser but when i click on it, the page postsback but the event handler for the button doesn't get fired, from what i can figure out, since the control goes throught RenderControls eachtime the page is posted back, the button gets redrawn and the event handling disapears. This server control is in a master page. Anyone can help me on this? Thanks

    As long as the mouse is over a specific control, we show some form. When the mouse leaves the control, we hide the control after a small timeout. This is standard hover behavior. However, when a control (for example a Treeview) has a scrollbar, and the mouse is ON or OVER the scrollbar, the events don't fire ... If we could get a reference to the scrollbar control, this would solve our problem, as we would add the same listener events to the scrollbar. However, the scrollbar isn't accessible as far as I know ... How can we solve this problem ?

I would like to find out how long it take for users to download and render the Silverlight control. Once the java script on a page is loaded there should be a way to start a timer and then stop the timer once the Silverlight/flash control is loaded.     is it possible to get HtmlTextWriter of a control? if no, then how can i call the RenderEndTag of a control in code behind? i am facing a problem in my application. i extended the listbox user control and override its RenderEndTag event. if i used the new listbox (Mylistbox) normally inside a WebPage, everything works fine. but when i put Mylistbox in a Webusercontrol and include the Webusercontrol in a WebPage, the RenderEndTag of the control is not called for some reason. so i guessed that i should explicitly call 'RenderEndTag' of the control. to do so i need to pass an HtmlTextWriter...

    I have a composite server control that does quiet a number of things; one of which is to display a ModalPopup OnClick of a dynamically generated HtmlAnchor control. I need to create this ModalPopupExtender control dynamically in my server control and trigger it from within. I have been able to create it and trigger it from a button created at design time but not at runtime. This is as a result of the ID assign to the link is always not found by the ModalPopupExtender control. I have tried assigning a static ID but no success. Can anyone help?

    I have a "generic" USB IR receiver I purchased off of Ebay to make my life a little easier with XBMC on my Ubuntu box. I am currently running 13.10 and have never tried nor have any knowledge of IR in Ubuntu. I know of lirc, and I know a lot of it is now included in the kernel. My understanding is that lirc in basic terms maps pulses from an remote control to functions - like keyboard or mouse clicks. I have been trying to find another way to capture the contents of the WebBrowser control and save them to a local image file. Anyone have any workarounds or other methods to save the contents of the WebBrowser control to a local image file?

  • 500 Internal Server Error after changing .NET Framework Version to 4.0 in IIS7

    I just changed my .NET Framework Version of the Application Pools in IIS7 Manager, following these instructions. Now when I try to re-upload my ASP.Net page, it shows me a 500 - Internal server error. I have tried uploading it in .net 2.0(X86, X64, AnyCPU), and 4.0(X86, X64, AnyCPU), and everything gives the same error. This is all the details the error gives me: "There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed." When keeping the .NET version on 2.0 on the server, it works just fine. Also, when uploading "index.htm", it works fine as well, it just shows the HTML page. This is on Windows Server 2008 R2, by the way. EDIT: I have finally found out how to get the error details. Here they are: "Handler "PageHandlerFactory-Integrated" has a bad module "ManagedPipelineHandler" in its module list." "Most likely causes: •Managed handler is used; however, ASP.NET is not installed or is not installed completely. •There is a typographical error in the configuration for the handler module list. Things you can try: •Install ASP.NET if you are using managed handler. •Ensure that the handler module's name is specified correctly. Module names are case-sensitive and use the format modules="StaticFileModule,DefaultDocumentModule,DirectoryListingModule"." I am sure that I have installed ASP.NET completely. Please help me, -René

    I have the following problem: when starting Visual Studio 2008, it says "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall the application." and stops. With the help of Sysinternals ProcessMonitor, I found out that Visual Studio could not load the atl90.dll 9.0.30729.4148 from the WinSxS folder. I tried to manually copy the older atl90.dll 9.0.30729.1 with the result that Visual Studio works again. Now I call this a dirty workaround, and not a solution. Plus I still don't know the reason why the atl90.dll disappeared in the first place. So my questions: - Does anyone know of a reason why this might have happened? - Does anyone know a real solution to the problem, e.g. a Microsoft download that includes the atl90.dll in the correct version 9.0.30729.4148 that installs into WinSxS?   • Yum installing wrong MySQL version on CentOS 5 (Amazon)

    I'm having trouble with a CentOS server running on AWS. This is CentOS 5.6 i386 from RightImage, but the problem was the same on all RightScale AMIs. When issuing the following command: yum install mysql mysql-server mysql-devel the only packages proposed by yum are MySQL-devel-community and MySQL-server-community. Which would't be a problem, except this package is old/incomplete, because it does not create a "mysqld" service, only a /etc/init.d/mysql (notice the missing d). That would't be a problem, I can start the service by doing ./etc/init.d/mysql start, and it starts OK, but there is no "mysql" (or other mysql*) command available. If I try to force a different version (yum install mysql50-server...) I get this yum error: mysql-5.0.77-4.el5_6.6.i386 from updates has depsolving problems --> mysql conflicts with MySQL-server-community (even when I don't have MySQL-server-community installed). I have tried this before and after yum update, in a fresh image. How can I install a working version of MySQL? I'm stuck on CentOS 5 because I want to install Kloxo (which does not yet support CentOS 6). I'm not interested in Webmin, and I can't afford cPanel. Thanks!

    I'm running Scientific Linux 6.3 (binary compaible with Redhat/CentOS/etc..) as a LAMP stack. I've installed Percona server and client v5.5 from the Percona yum repository. However when I run phpinfo() I notice that under the MySQL and mysqli sections, it lists the Client API Library version as 5.1.66, and not 5.5x. I'm guessing these need to match, at least to major versions, and I have no idea what the possible consequences of such a mismatch could be. Do I need to revert to Percona server and client v5.1? This is for a production environment so it needs to be right. I'd appreciate any input or experience people could offer.   • mshtml.dll latest version for Internet Explorer 8, Windows XP Service Pack 3

    Many applications in my system (Internet Explorer 8, Yahoo Messenger, Skype 10) are crashing and error details shows module name mshtml.dll. I checked the version of mshtml.dll in system32 folder. It is 8.0.6001.19170. My Internet Explorer version is 8.0.6001.18702. I am not concerned about crash of IE, because I generally use Firefox, but how do I solve the crashes in other applications, which are due to mshtml.dll? I have moved to Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32 bit). I have tried to update Internet Explorer 8 (from Tools-Windows Update), but again it crashes. I can not migrate to IE 9, as it requires Vista or Windows 7. I have applied Cumulative Security update for IE8, which has this file name: IE8-WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-ENU.exe I could not get much info from Microsoft sites or Google. I do not want to use Automatic Updates feature of Windows. Can somebody give the download links for mshtml.dll and any associated files, which I can replace in system32 folder? Thanks.

  • Using sound forge 6.0 what will be the need to upgrade to latest version

    I had been using sound forge 6.0 not recently but long back. I edit mp3 files for my purpose and some more filters like flange, pan, fade in out, recording, line in recording, extracting sound from video files (mpg, avi(divx), etc...), increasing the default volume, editing treble and bass effects, and etc... I am not going to use it professionally. I use it just like that. Now when i checked i could see Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 is the latest version for my purpose. Others are too high i think. Besides, i had been using Gold Wave version 4 very extensively just to edit sound files mostly mp3. and here is the reason for me to change to sound forge. It is when we edit mp3 files it deflashes(making it raw i think) before editing. after editing if i save it asks for the format to save and i will choose mp3. At this point it again applies the compression process which makes the sound file lossy. When i did the same with sound forge it did not deflash. It just edited the file as mp3.   • Migrate from Oracle to MySQL

    Hi together. We ran into serious performance problems with our Oracle database and we would like to try to migrate to a MySQL-based database (either MySQL directly or, more preferrable, Infobright). The thing is, we need to let the old and the new system overlap for at least some weeks if not months, before we actually know, if all features of the new database match our needs. So, here is our situation: The Oracle database consists of multiple tables with each millions of rows. During the day, there are literally thousands of statements, which we cannot stop for migration. Every morning, new data is imported into the Oracle database, replacing some thousands of rows. Copying this process is not a problem, so we could, in theory, import in both databases in parallel. But, and here lies the challenge, for this to work, we need to have an export from the Oracle database with a consistent state from one day. (We cannot export some tables on Monday and some others on Tuesday, etc.) This means, that at least the export should be finished in less than one day. Our first thought was to dump the schema, but I wasn't able to find a tool to import an Oracle dump file into mysql. Exporting tables in CSV files might work, but I'm afraid it could take too long. So my question now is: What should I do? Is there any tool to import Oracle dump files into MySQL? Does anybody have any experience with such a large-scale migration?   • Html.EditorFor, Html.DisplayFor not working on MVC1.0 -> MVC2.0 manual migration

    Has anyone encountered this problem? I manually migrated a MVC1.0 application to MVC2.0 and everything so far seems to be working fine. Today I wanted to try out the Html.EditorFor helper and it doesn't render the template. I set it up the same way in a fresh MVC2.0 application and the template does render. Is there anything other (or specifically needed when mirgrating to activate this behavior) than throwing the partial view like DateTime.ascx into Views/Shared/EditorTemplates and using the helper methods to render the model objects? I'm stumped.

  • DB2 upgrade database Fails due to descriptor corruption

    Hi Everyone, I've recently upgraded my DB2 9.5 to DB2 9.7, and I am unable to update my database to v9.7. The error I have been receiving is this: "SQL0901N The SQL statement failed because of a non-severe system error. Subsequent SQL statements can be processed. (Reason "Packed descriptor corruption found. Please run RUNSTATS on this table".) SQLSTATE=58004" I have tried to connect with 9.5 clients that worked before the "upgrade" on other machines, but they complain about the DB not being migrated to the current version. So my DB is now somewhere in limbo between 9.5 and 9.7. Would anyone have any clever ideas on how to execute runstats on this DB without being able to connect to it? I'm not concerned so much about the data inside, as I am about the settings (name,optimization stuff, etc) Please let me know if I there is any information I left out. Thanks, Jdcc

  • Control diamond square algorithm to generate islands/pangea.

    I generated a height map with the diamond square algorithm. The thing is i do not manage to create islands, this is, restrict the height other than water level range to a certain value in the center of the map. I manualy seeded a circle in the middle of the map but the rest of the map still receives heights over the water level. I dont fully understand the Perlin noise algorithm so i'd like to work with my current implementation of the diamond square algorithm which took me 3 days to interpret and code in PHP. :P

In our report creation wizard, it is possible leave the Title text box empty and have it be populated with a generic title (in the post action). The code that does the update on the model of the Title is: if (TryUpdateModel(reportToEdit, new[] { "Title" })) { //all ok here try to create (custom validation and attach to graph to follow) //if title is empty get config subject if (reportToEdit.Title.Trim().Length <= 0) reportToEdit.Title = reportConfiguration.Subject; if (!_service.CreateReport(1, reportToEdit, SelectedUser.ID, reportConfigID, reportCategoryID, reportTypeID, deviceUnitID)) return RedirectToAction("Index"); } In MVC 1.0, this works correctly,the reportToEdit has an empty title if the textbox is empty, which is then populated with the Subject property. In MVC 2.0 this fails/returns false. If I add the line above: UpdateModel(reportToEdit, new[] { "Title" }); it throws System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled by user code Message="The model of type 'Footprint.Web.Models.Reports' could not be updated." In ASP.NET MVC 1.0, only properties that had new values set would be validated. In ASP.NET MVC 2, the Error property of IDataErrorInfo is called only if all the property validators were successful. but I'm confused how this is affecting me. I'm using the entity framework generated classes. Can anyone pinpoint why this is failing?
