  Rails and MySQL: I have a table with several boolean columns representing tags. I want to find all the rows for which a specific one of these columns is 'true' (or I guess in the case of MySQL, '1'). I have the following code in my view. @tag = params[:tag] @supplies = Supply.find(:all, :conditions=>["? IS NOT NULL and ? !=''", @tag, @tag], :order=>'name') The @tag is being passed in from the url. Why is it then that I am instead getting all of my @supplies (i.e. every row) rather than just those that are true for the column for @tag. Thanks!

I need a uint8, uint16, uint32, and uint64, and I need them defined in types.h, in a way that they will always be defined correctly regardless of platform. My question is, how can I check the sizes of different types on each platform using preprocessor macros, so that I can define my custom types correctly in the types.h header?

  Another opinion question: What is the proper (in your opinion) to check for nulls in an MVC controller. For instance, if you have an edit controller that fetches a record from the db based on an id, what do you do if that record is not found? I found this article, but I'm not sure I like that method. Do you just check for it with an if statement and redirect to a 404 page? What solution do you use?

I could not find a directive (i.e. such as #{RAILS_ROOT} which contains the root directory of the application) that I can use to perform a check. I need this to do a check since I am deploying the same application on different ports and I need the app to do different things according to the port that is being accessed. • Error after installing Ubuntu 12.04 using Wubi

  After using Windows Ubuntu Installer from within Windows, I am prompted to restart, so I follow the directions. When I try to start Ubuntu after restarting, the desktop background appears, but then a loading bar with this title appears. Verifying the installation configuration... While this is loading, an error window pops up that says No root file system is defined Please correct this from the partitioning menu There is only an 'Ok' button available to click, and if I click that the same error window appears. I do not know how to get to the "partitioning menu" from this state, so the only option I have is to shut down my computer. What can I do so that Ubuntu finds a "root file system"? Can I diagnose this problem via Windows? Does anyone have any insight? FYI - I am using a new ultrabook with 6GB RAM, Intel i7 3rd gen processor, and no CD/DVD drive.

  Hi All, I want to write a Scala script to recursively process all files in a directory. For each file I'd like to see if there are any cases where a string occurs at line X and line X - 2. If a case like that occurs I'd like to stop processing that file, and add that filename to a map of filenames to occurrence counts.   Hi folks, I am trying to check the value of an environment variable and depending on the value do certain things and it works fine as long as the variable is set. When it isn't though I get a whole bunch of errors (as BASH is trying to compare the string I specify with an undefined variable, I guess) I tried implementing an extra check to prevent it happening but no luck.   I'm playing around with this tutorial that uses Sinatra, backbone.js, and mongodb for the database. It's my first time using mongo. As far as I understand it the app uses both local storage and a database. it has these routes for the database. I started the mongo shell ./bin/mongo I selected the database 'use mydb' and then looking at the docs (http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Tutorial) I tried commands such as > var cursor = db.things.find(); > while (cursor.hasNext()) printjson(cursor.next()); but they didn't return anything.

This is the sample output of firebug: http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php With this url it now gives me: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php" Shouldn't it output like http://mysite.com/forms/get_data.php ?   Here's a question for the C++ gurus out there. Is there a way to check at compile time where a type has a certain method, and do one thing if it does, and another thing if it doesn't? Basically, I have a template function template <typename T> void function(T t); and I it to behave a certain way if T has a method g(), and another way if it doesn't. Perhaps there is something that can be used together with boost's enable_if? Something like this: template <typename T> enable_if<has_method<T, g, void ()>, void>::type function(T t) { // Superior implementation calling t.g() } template <typename T> disable_if<has_method<T, g, void ()>, void>::type function(T t) { // Inferior implementation in the case where T doesn't have a method g() } "has_method" would be something that preferably checks both that T has a method named 'g', and that the method has the correct signature (in this case, void ()). Any ideas?

I assume it has something to do with the NVidia driver, since the error in the console says: WARNING: createWindow: LLWindowManager::create() : Error creating window. WARNING: LLViewerWindow: Failed to create window, to be shutting Down, be sure your graphics driver is updated I guess I could file a bug on Launchpad, but I'm not sure where to file it.   I have recorded a sequence of steps to be executed for testing my web application, in a JMeter .jmx script. (The recording tool used was BadBoy). It is possible that one of the steps might return an error response in the HTTP response content. In this case, I need the script to stop execution of that thread. However, since the error page is customized, JMeter does not recognize this as an error and proceeds to the next steps. Is there any way to check for certain keywords, for example, and decide if the response is an error?
